¹Woe to her who is rebellious and polluted, the oppressing city!

¹Gorje tisti upornici in gnusnici, temu silovitemu mestu!

²She didn’t obey the voice. She didn’t receive correction. She didn’t trust in Yahweh. She didn’t draw near to her God.

²Nobenega glasu ni poslušalo, za nobeno svarilo ni bilo dovzetno; v GOSPODA ni upalo, ni se bližalo svojemu Bogu.

³Her princes in the midst of her are roaring lions. Her judges are evening wolves. They leave nothing until the next day.

³Njegovi poglavarji sredi njega so rjoveči levi, njegovi sodniki kakor volkovi zvečer, ki še kosti ne ostavijo do jutra.

⁴Her prophets are arrogant and treacherous people. Her priests have profaned the sanctuary. They have done violence to the law.

⁴Njegovi proroki so bahavci, zvijačni možje; njegovi duhovniki skrunijo svetišče, na zlo zvijajo postavo.

⁵Yahweh, in the midst of her, is righteous. He will do no wrong. Every morning he brings his justice to light. He doesn’t fail, but the unjust know no shame.

⁵GOSPOD je pravičen sredi njega, krivice ne dela nobene; vsako jutro stavi na svetlo pravico svojo, ne pogreši v tem. Krivičnik pa ne pozna sramu.

⁶I have cut off nations. Their battlements are desolate. I have made their streets waste, so that no one passes by. Their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, so that there is no inhabitant.

⁶Iztrebil sem poganske narode, njih utrdbe so razvaljene; opustošil sem njih ceste, da nihče ne hodi po njih; njih mesta so razdejana, da v njih ni nikogar, nobenega prebivalca.

⁷I said, “Just fear me. Receive correction, so that her dwelling won’t be cut off, according to all that I have appointed concerning her.” But they rose early and corrupted all their doings.

⁷Rekel sem temu mestu: O da bi se le balo mene, da bi sprejelo svarjenje! tedaj bi se ne smelo razdejati bivališče njegovo, izbrisalo bi se vse, kar sem določil o njem. A vendar so že zgodaj pačili vse dejanje svoje.

⁸“Therefore wait for me,” says Yahweh, “until the day that I rise up to the prey, for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour on them my indignation, even all my fierce anger, for all the earth will be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

⁸Zato me čakajte, govori GOSPOD, do dne, ko vstanem, da bi plenil! Kajti sklep moj je, da zberem narode, skupim kraljestva, da izlijem nadnje srd svoj, vso gorečo jezo svojo; kajti v ognju gorečnosti moje bo požrta vsa zemlja.

⁹For then I will purify the lips of the peoples, that they may all call on the name of Yahweh, to serve him shoulder to shoulder.

⁹Kajti takrat izpremenim narodom ustnice, da bodo čiste, da bi vsi klicali ime GOSPODOVO in mu služili enodušno.

¹⁰From beyond the rivers of Cush, my worshipers, even the daughter of my dispersed people, will bring my offering.

¹¹Tisti dan se ti ne bode treba sramovati vseh dejanj, s katerimi si se pregrešila zoper mene; kajti takrat odpravim izmed tebe ošabne širokoustneže tvoje, in se ne boš več prevzemala na gori svetosti moje.

¹²But I will leave in the midst of you an afflicted and poor people, and they will take refuge in the name of Yahweh.

¹²In ostavim sredi tebe ponižno in ubogo ljudstvo, ti bodo upali v ime GOSPODOVO.

¹³The remnant of Israel will not do iniquity, nor speak lies, neither will a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth, for they will feed and lie down, and no one will make them afraid.”

¹³Ostanki Izraelovi ne bodo delali krivice, ne govorili laži in v njih ustih ne bo prevarljivega jezika, temuč bodo pasli in počivali in ga ne bode, ki bi jih strašil.

¹⁴Sing, daughter of Zion! Shout, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem.

¹⁴Glasno poj, o hči sionska, ukajte, ki ste Izraelovi! veséli se in raduj iz vsega srca, hči jeruzalemska!

¹⁵Yahweh has taken away your judgments. He has thrown out your enemy. The King of Israel, Yahweh, is in the midst of you. You will not be afraid of evil any more.

¹⁵Odvzel je GOSPOD sodbe tvoje, odstranil sovražnika tvojega. Kralj Izraelov, Jehova, je sredi tebe, nesreče ne boš več videla nobene.

¹⁶In that day, it will be said to Jerusalem, “Don’t be afraid, Zion. Don’t let your hands be weak.”

¹⁶Tisti dan poreko Jeruzalemu: Ne boj se! Sion, tvoje roke naj ne omagajo!

¹⁷Yahweh, your God, is in the midst of you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing.

¹⁷Jehova, tvoj Bog, je sredi tebe, junak, ki hoče rešiti; veseli se te presilno, molči v ljubezni svoji, raduje se nad teboj z glasnim petjem.

¹⁸I will remove those who grieve about the appointed feasts from you. They are a burden and a reproach to you.

¹⁸Zberem tiste, ki žalujejo po prazničnem zborovanju; iz tebe so bili, sramota jih je težila.

¹⁹Behold, at that time I will deal with all those who afflict you, and I will save those who are lame, and gather those who were driven away. I will give them praise and honor, whose shame has been in all the earth.

¹⁹Glej, jaz bom ravnal tisti čas z vsemi stiskalci tvojimi, in rešim hrome in zberem izvržene in jim napravim hvalo in sloveče ime po vseh deželah, kjer so zdaj v sramoti.Tisti čas vas privedem sem in tisti čas vas zberem; kajti v sloveče ime in v hvalo vas storim med vsemi ljudstvi na zemlji, ko nazaj pripeljem ujetništvo vaše pred vašimi očmi, pravi GOSPOD.

²⁰At that time will I bring you in, and at that time will I gather you; for I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I restore your fortunes before your eyes, says Yahweh.

²⁰Tisti čas vas privedem sem in tisti čas vas zberem; kajti v sloveče ime in v hvalo vas storim med vsemi ljudstvi na zemlji, ko nazaj pripeljem ujetništvo vaše pred vašimi očmi, pravi GOSPOD.
