Luke

20

1It happened on one of those days, as he was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the Good News, that the priests and scribes came to him with the elders.
1Zvino zvakaitika parimwe remazuva iwayo, achidzidzisa vanhu mutembere nekuparidza evhangeri, vapristi vakuru nevanyori vakasvika nevakuru,
2They asked him, “Tell us: by what authority do you do these things? Or who is giving you this authority?”
2ndokutaura kwaari vachiti: Tiudzei, munoita zvinhu izvi nesimba ripi, kana ndiani iye wakakupai simba iri?
3He answered them, “I also will ask you one question. Tell me:
3Zvino wakapindura akati kwavari: Ini ndichakubvunzaiwo shoko rimwe; uye mundiudze:
4 the baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men?”
4Rubhabhatidzo rwaJohwani rwakabva kudenga, kana kuvanhu?
5They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’
5Zvino vakarangana, vachiti: Kana tikati: Kudenga; uchati: Naizvozvo makaregerei kumutenda?
6But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”
6Asi kana tikati: Kuvanhu; vanhu vose vachatitaka nemabwe; nekuti vaiva nechokwadi kuti Johwani waiva muporofita.
7They answered that they didn’t know where it was from.
7Vakapindura, vachiti havazivi kwarwakabva.
8Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
8Jesu ndokuti kwavari: Neni handikuudzii kuti ndinoita zvinhu izvi nesimba ripi.
9He began to tell the people this parable. “A man planted a vineyard, and rented it out to some farmers, and went into another country for a long time.
9Zvino wakatanga kuudza vanhu mufananidzo uyu: Umwe munhu wakasima munda wemizambiringa, akauhaisa kuvarimi, akaenda parwendo nguva refu;
10 At the proper season, he sent a servant to the farmers to collect his share of the fruit of the vineyard. But the farmers beat him, and sent him away empty.
10nenguva yakafanira wakatuma muranda kuvarimi, kuti vamupe zvechibereko chemunda wemizambiringa; asi varimi vakamurova, vakamuendesa asina chinhu.
11 He sent yet another servant, and they also beat him, and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.
11Zvino wakatumazve umwe muranda; naiye vakamurovawo vakamunyadzisa, vakamuendesa asina chinhu.
12 He sent yet a third, and they also wounded him, and threw him out.
12Zvino wakatumazve wechitatu; uyuwo ndokumukuvadza, vakamukandira kunze.
13 The lord of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. It may be that seeing him, they will respect him.’
13Zvino mwene wemunda wemizambiringa wakati: Ndichaitei? Ndichatuma mwanakomana wangu unodikamwa, zvimwe vakaona iye vachamukudza.
14 “But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.’
14Asi varimi vakati vachimuona vakarangana, vachiti: Uyu ndiye mugari wenhaka; uyai, ngatimuuraye, kuti nhaka igova yedu.
15 They threw him out of the vineyard, and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them?
15Vakamukandira kunze kwemunda wemizambiringa, vakauraya. Naizvozvo mwene wemunda wemizambiringa uchavaitirei?
16 He will come and destroy these farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.” When they heard it, they said, “May it never be!”
16Uchauya, ndokuparadza varimi ivava, agopa munda wemuzambiringa vamwe. Zvino vachinzwa, vakati: Zvisadaro!
17But he looked at them, and said, “Then what is this that is written, ‘The stone which the builders rejected, the same was made the chief cornerstone?’
17Asi wakavatarisa, akati: Naizvozvo chii ichi chakanyorwa, chinoti: Ibwe vavaki ravakaramba, ndiro rava musoro wekona?
18 Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, but it will crush whomever it falls on to dust.”
18Wose unowira pamusoro pebwe iro, uchavhuniwavhuniwa; asi ani nani warinowira pamusoro richamukuya.
19The chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on him that very hour, but they feared the people—for they knew he had spoken this parable against them.
19Zvino vapristi vakuru nevanyori neawa iroro vakatsvaka kuisa maoko paari, asi vakatya vanhu; nekuti vakaziva kuti wakareva mufananidzo uyo akanangana navo.
20They watched him, and sent out spies, who pretended to be righteous, that they might trap him in something he said, so as to deliver him up to the power and authority of the governor.
20Vakamucherekedza, vakatumira vashori vakanyepedzera kuva vakarurama, kuti vamubate pakutaura, kuti vamukumikidze kuushe nesimba remutungamiriri.
21They asked him, “Teacher, we know that you say and teach what is right, and aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God.
21Zvino vakamubvunza, vachiti: Mudzidzisi, tinoziva kuti munotaura nekudzidzisa zvakarurama, uye hamugamuchiri chiso, asi munodzidzisa nzira yaMwari muchokwadi.
22Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
22Zviri pamutemo here kwatiri kupa mutero kuna Kesari, kana kwete?
23But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Why do you test me?
23Asi wakaziva unyengeri hwavo, ndokuti kwavari: Munondiidzirei?
24 Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?” They answered, “Caesar’s.”
24Ndiratidzei dhenari*; Rine mufananidzo nerunyoro rwaani? Vakapindura vakati: ZvaKesari.
25He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
25Ndokuti kwavari: Naizvozvo dzorerai kuna Kesari zvinhu zvaKesari, nekuna Mwari zvinhu zvaMwari.
26They weren’t able to trap him in his words before the people. They marveled at his answer, and were silent.
26Vakakoniwa kumubata neshoko rake pamberi pevanhu; vakashamisika nemhinduro yake; vakanyarara.
27Some of the Sadducees came to him, those who deny that there is a resurrection.
27Zvino kwakaswedera vamwe vevaSadhusi, vanoramba kuti kune kumuka kwevakafa, ndokumubvunza,
28They asked him, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies having a wife, and he is childless, his brother should take the wife, and raise up children for his brother.
28vachiti: Mudzidzisi, Mozisi wakatinyorera kuti: Kana mukoma wemunhu akafa ane mukadzi, asi iye akafa asina vana, munin'ina wake atore mukadzi, amutsire mukoma wake mbeu.
29There were therefore seven brothers. The first took a wife, and died childless.
29Naizvozvo kwakange kune vanakomana vemunhu umwe vanomwe; wekutanga ndokutora mukadzi, akafa asina vana;
30The second took her as wife, and he died childless.
30newechipiri akatora mukadzi uyo, naiye akafa asina mwana;
31The third took her, and likewise the seven all left no children, and died.
31newechitatu akamutora. Zvikadarowo nevanomwe, uye vakasasiya vana, vakafa.
32Afterward the woman also died.
32Pakupedzisira kwavo vose mukadzi wakafawo.
33Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them will she be? For the seven had her as a wife.”
33Naizvozvo pakumuka kwevakafa, uchava mukadzi waani kwavari? Nekuti vanomwe vakava naye semukadzi.
34Jesus said to them, “The children of this age marry, and are given in marriage.
34Zvino Jesu wakapindura akati kwavari: Vana venyika ino vanowana, vanowaniswa;
35 But those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage.
35asi avo vachanzi vakafanira kuwana nyika iyo nekumuka kuvakafa havawani kana kuwaniswa;
36 For they can’t die any more, for they are like the angels, and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.
36nekuti havagoni kufazve; nekuti vakaita sevatumwa, uye vanakomana vaMwari, vari vanakomana vekumuka kwevakafa.
37 But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he called the Lord ‘The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’
37Asi kuti vakafa vanomutswa, kunyange Mozisi wakaratidza pagwenzi, paakaidza Ishe Mwari waAbhurahamu, naMwari waIsaka, naMwari waJakobho.
38 Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for all are alive to him.”
38Nekuti haazi Mwari wevakafa, asi wevapenyu; nekuti vose vanoraramira iye.
39Some of the scribes answered, “Teacher, you speak well.”
39Zvino vamwe vevanyori vakapindura vakati: Mudzidzisi, mataura zvakanaka.
40They didn’t dare to ask him any more questions.
40Uye havana kuzoshinga kumubvunzazve chinhu.
41He said to them, “Why do they say that the Christ is David’s son?
41Zvino wakati kwavari: Vanoreva sei kuti Kristu Mwanakomana waDavhidhi?
42 David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,
42Nekuti Dhavhidhi pachake wakareva mubhuku reMapisarema achiti: Ishe wakati kuna Ishe wangu: Gara kuruoko rwangu rwerudyi,
43 until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’
43kusvikira ndaita vavengi vako chitsiko chetsoka dzako.
44 “David therefore calls him Lord, so how is he his son?”
44Naizvozvo Dhavhidhi unomuidza Ishe, ko Mwanakomana wake sei?
45In the hearing of all the people, he said to his disciples,
45Zvino vanhu vose vachakateerera, wakati kuvadzidzi vake:
46 “Beware of the scribes, who like to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts;
46Chenjerai vanyori, vanoda kufamba nenguvo refu, uye vanoda kwaziso pamisika, nezvigaro zvepamusorosa mumasinagoge, nezvigaro zvemberi pazvirairo;
47 who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers: these will receive greater condemnation.”
47vanodya dzimba dzechirikadzi, vanonyepedzera nekuita minyengetero mirefu; ivavo vachagamuchira kurashwa kukuru.
