1Then Jonah prayed to Yahweh, his God, out of the fish’s belly.
1Atëherë Jona iu lut Zotit, Perëndisë të tij, nga barku i peshkut dhe tha:
2He said, “I called because of my affliction to Yahweh. He answered me. Out of the belly of Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. I cried. You heard my voice.
2"Në fatkeqësinë time i thirra Zotit dhe ai m'u përgjigj; nga gjiri i Sheolit i thirra dhe ti e dëgjove zërin tim.
3For you threw me into the depths, in the heart of the seas. The flood was all around me. All your waves and your billows passed over me.
3Më hodhe në një vend të thellë, në zemër të deteve, rryma më mori dhe gjithë dallgët e tua dhe valët e tua më kaluan sipër.
4I said, ‘I have been banished from your sight; yet I will look again toward your holy temple.’
4Atëherë thashë: U dëbova nga prania jote. Megjithatë do të shikoj akoma në drejtim të tempullit tënd të shenjtë.
5The waters surrounded me, even to the soul. The deep was around me. The weeds were wrapped around my head.
5Ujërat më kanë rrethuar deri në shpirt, humnera më ka mbështjellë, algat u mblodhën rreth kokës sime.
6I went down to the bottoms of the mountains. The earth barred me in forever: yet have you brought up my life from the pit, Yahweh my God.
6Zbrita deri në themelet e maleve, toka mbylli shufrat e saj pas meje për gjithnjë, por ti e ngrite jetën time nga gropa, o Zot, Perëndia im.
7“When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Yahweh. My prayer came in to you, into your holy temple.
7Kur shpirti im po ligështohej brenda meje, kujtova Zotin, dhe lutja ime arriti deri te ti, në tempullin tënd të shenjtë.
8Those who regard lying vanities forsake their own mercy.
8Ata që jepen pas kotësive të rreme braktisin vetë burimin e hirit të tyre.
9But I will sacrifice to you with the voice of thanksgiving. I will pay that which I have vowed. Salvation belongs to Yahweh.”
9Por unë me zëra lëvdimi do të ofroj flijime dhe do të plotësoj betimet që kam bërë. Shpëtimi i përket Zotit".
10Yahweh spoke to the fish, and it vomited out Jonah on the dry land.
10Atëherë Zoti i foli peshkut dhe peshku e volli Jonan në breg.
