1Paul, called to be an apostle of Jesus Christ through the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,
1 Ay no Bulos. Irikoy n'ay ce nga miila boŋ ay ma ciya Almasihu* Yesu diya. Iri nya-izo Sostano go ay banda.
2to the assembly of God which is at Corinth; those who are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ in every place, both theirs and ours:
2 Iri go ga Irikoy marga fo kaŋ go Korint kwaara, ngey kaŋ yaŋ ciya hananteyaŋ Almasihu Yesu ra, kaŋ yaŋ Irikoy ce i ma bara hananteyaŋ. Iri go g'i fo, ngey nda borey kulu mo kaŋ yaŋ goono g'iri Rabbi Yesu Almasihu maa ce, nangu kulu kaŋ i go. Nga ga ti i Rabbo d'iri wano mo.
3Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Gomni nda laakal kanay ma bara araŋ banda kaŋ yaŋ ga fun iri Baabo Irikoy da Rabbi Yesu Almasihu do.
4I always thank my God concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus;
4 Ay ga Irikoy saabu waati kulu araŋ se d'a gomno kaŋ a n'araŋ no Almasihu Yesu ra sabbay se.
5that in everything you were enriched in him, in all speech and all knowledge;
5 Hay kulu ra a n'araŋ arzakandi Almasihu do, araŋ sanno d'araŋ bayra kulu ra.
6even as the testimony of Christ was confirmed in you:
6 Irikoy na seeda kaŋ iri te Almasihu boŋ tabbatandi araŋ game ra
7so that you come behind in no gift; waiting for the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ;
7 hal araŋ mana jaŋ nooyaŋ kulu waati kaŋ araŋ goono g'iri Rabbi Yesu Almasihu bangandiyaŋo batu.
8who will also confirm you until the end, blameless in the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
8 Nga no g'araŋ tabbatandi hala bananta, hal araŋ ma bara boroyaŋ kaŋ sinda taali iri Rabbi Yesu Almasihu zaaro ra.
9God is faithful, through whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord.
9 Irikoy ya Naanaykoy no, nga kaŋ n'araŋ ce hal araŋ ma furo nga Izo, kaŋ ga ti iri Rabbo Yesu Almasihu, markasina ra.
10Now I beg you, brothers, The word for “brothers” here and where context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.” through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
11For it has been reported to me concerning you, my brothers, by those who are from Chloe’s household, that there are contentions among you.
11 Zama Kuluwe windi borey do ay maa araŋ baaru, ay nya-izey, kaŋ i ne: canda-canda go no araŋ game ra.
12Now I mean this, that each one of you says, “I follow Paul,” “I follow Apollos,” “I follow Cephas,” and, “I follow Christ.”
12 Haŋ kaŋ se ay na woodin ci ga ti araŋ boro fo kulu gonda nga kambe sanni. Afo ga ne: «Ay wo Bulos boro no.» Afo ga ne: «Ay ya Abolos wane no.» Afo ga ne: «Ay ya Kefas wane no.» Afo mo ga ne: «Ay wo Almasihu wane no.»
13Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized into the name of Paul?
13 Day mate nooya? Almasihu wo fay-fayante no? Wala i na Bulos kanji araŋ sabbay se no? E! I te araŋ se baptisma Bulos maa ra no?
14I thank God that I baptized none of you, except Crispus and Gaius,
15so that no one should say that I had baptized you into my own name.
16(I also baptized the household of Stephanas; besides them, I don’t know whether I baptized any other.)
17For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the Good News—not in wisdom of words, so that the cross of Christ wouldn’t be made void.
18For the word of the cross is foolishness to those who are dying, but to us who are saved it is the power of God.
18 Zama kanjiyaŋ bundo sanno ya saamotaray no borey kaŋ yaŋ goono ga halaci se, amma iri kaŋ goono ga du faaba se Irikoy dabaro no.
19For it is written, “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, I will bring the discernment of the discerning to nothing.” Isaiah 29:14
19 Zama i n'a hantum ka ne: «Ay ga laakalkooney laakaley halaci, fahamantey fahama mo, ay g'a ganandi.»
20Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the lawyer of this world? Hasn’t God made foolish the wisdom of this world?
20 Man laakalkooni? Man hantumko? Man zamana wo kakawko? Manti Irikoy na ndunnya wo laakalo himandi saamotaray no?
21For seeing that in the wisdom of God, the world through its wisdom didn’t know God, it was God’s good pleasure through the foolishness of the preaching to save those who believe.
21 Zama za kaŋ Irikoy laakalo ra, a te hala ndunnya mana Irikoy bay ngey laakaley do, a kaan Irikoy se nga ma cimandikoy faaba «saamotaray» waazo do.
22For Jews ask for signs, Greeks seek after wisdom,
22 Zama Yahudancey ga alaamayaŋ hã. Garekey mo ga fahamay ceeci,
23but we preach Christ crucified; a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks,
23 amma iri wo, iri goono ga Almasihu kaŋ i kanji waazo te. Sanno wo ciya katiyaŋ hari Yahudancey se, saamotaray mo no dumi* cindey se.
24but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
24 Amma borey kaŋ yaŋ Irikoy ce, da Yahudancey no wala Garekey no, i se Almasihu ya Irikoy dabaro no da Irikoy laakalo mo.
25Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
25 Zama Irikoy laakal-jaŋa bisa borey laakal. Irikoy londibuuna mo bisa borey gaabi.
26For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble;
26 Ay nya-izey, wa fongu da mate kaŋ araŋ go kaŋ Irikoy n'araŋ ce. A mana ndunnya wo laakalkooni boobo, wala dabarikooni boobo, wala darzante boobo ce bo.
27but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong;
28and God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are:
28 Ndunnya kayna hayey, da hayey kaŋ yaŋ i ga donda mo, Irikoy n'i suuban. Oho mo, hala baa hayey kaŋ yaŋ si no, a n'i suuban zama a ma hayey kaŋ yaŋ go no ciya yaamo.
29that no flesh should boast before God.
30But of him, you are in Christ Jesus, who was made to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption:
30 Amma Irikoy no k'araŋ daŋ Almasihu Yesu ra, nga kaŋ Irikoy do a te iri se laakal, da adilitaray*, da hananyaŋ, da fansa,
31that, according as it is written, “He who boasts, let him boast in the Lord.” Jeremiah 9:24
31 hal a ma bara mate kaŋ i n'a hantum ka ne: «Boro kaŋ goono ga fooma ma fooma Rabbi ra.»
