1 Kings

3

1Solomon made affinity with Pharaoh king of Egypt, and took Pharaoh’s daughter, and brought her into the city of David, until he had made an end of building his own house, and the house of Yahweh, and the wall of Jerusalem all around.
A na Firawna ize way hiiji ka kand'a Dawda kwaara ra, hal a ga nga bumbo windo cina ka ban, da Rabbi windo da birni cinaro kaŋ ga Urusalima windi.
2Only the people sacrificed in the high places, because there was no house built for the name of Yahweh until those days.
2 Amma laab'izey goono ga sargayyaŋ wi tudey boŋ sududuyaŋ nangey ra, zama i mana windi cina Rabbi maa se kal a kaa ka to alwaati woodin ra.
3Solomon loved Yahweh, walking in the statutes of David his father: only he sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.
3 Suleymanu wo ga ba Rabbi, a ga dira nga baaba Dawda hin sanney ra. Kulu nda yaadin a ga sargay wi ka dugu ton tudey boŋ sududuyaŋ nangey ra.
4The king went to Gibeon to sacrifice there; for that was the great high place. Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.
4 Bonkoono mo koy Jibeyon, zama nga ma sargayyaŋ te noodin, zama sududuyaŋ nangu beero si kala noodin. Sargay kaŋ i ga ton zambar fo no Suleymanu te feema din ra.
5In Gibeon Yahweh appeared to Solomon in a dream by night; and God said, “Ask what I shall give you.”
5 Jibeyon ra binde Rabbi bangay Suleymanu se cin hindiri ra. Irikoy ne a se mo: «Ma ŋwaaray haŋ kaŋ ay ga ni no.»
6Solomon said, “You have shown to your servant David my father great loving kindness, according as he walked before you in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with you. You have kept for him this great loving kindness, that you have given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
6 Suleymanu ne: «Ni na gomni beeri cabe ni tamo ay baaba Dawda se, mate kaŋ cine a dira cimi nda adilitaray da bine hanno ra mo ni jine. Ni na gomni beeri woone mo jisi a se, mate kaŋ cine ni n'a no ize kaŋ ga goro a karga boŋ ya-cine hunkuna.
7Now, Yahweh my God, you have made your servant king instead of David my father. I am but a little child. I don’t know how to go out or come in.
8Your servant is in the midst of your people which you have chosen, a great people, that can’t be numbered nor counted for multitude.
9Give your servant therefore an understanding heart to judge your people, that I may discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this your great people?”
9 Kala ni ma ay, ni tamo no bine kaŋ gonda fahamay, kaŋ a ga du ka ciiti ni jama se d'a, zama ay ma fayanka ilaalo nda ihanno game ra. Zama may no ga hin ka ciiti ni jama beero wo se?»
10The speech pleased the Lord, that Solomon had asked this thing.
11God said to him, “Because you have asked this thing, and have not asked for yourself long life, neither have asked riches for yourself, nor have asked the life of your enemies, but have asked for yourself understanding to discern justice;
12behold, I have done according to your word. Behold, I have given you a wise and an understanding heart; so that there has been none like you before you, neither after you shall any arise like you.
12 guna, ay te ni sanno boŋ. A go, ay na ni no bine kaŋ gonda laakal, kaŋ ga faham mo, hal i mana ni cine te ce fo. Ni cine fo si ye ka tun mo koyne kaŋ ga hima nin.
13I have also given you that which you have not asked, both riches and honor, so that there shall not be any among the kings like you, all your days.
13 Ay na ni no mo haŋ kaŋ ni mana ŋwaaray: arzaka nda beeray hal i si du ni baafuna kulu ra boro fo bonkooney game ra kaŋ ga te ni cine.
14If you will walk in my ways, to keep my statutes and my commandments, as your father David walked, then I will lengthen your days.”
14 Hala day ni dira ay fondey ra mo, zama ni m'ay hin sanney d'ay lordey haggoy sanda mate kaŋ cine ni baaba Dawda dira nd'a, kala ay ma ni jirbey kuukandi mo.»
15Solomon awoke; and behold, it was a dream. Then he came to Jerusalem, and stood before the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and offered up burnt offerings, offered peace offerings, and made a feast to all his servants.
15 Suleymanu mo hay. Wiiza, hindiri no! A kaa Urusalima ka kay Rabbi sappa sundurko jine. A na sargay kaŋ i ga ton yaŋ salle. A na saabuyaŋ sargayyaŋ salle. A na batu te mo nga goy-teerey kulu se.
16Then two women who were prostitutes came to the king, and stood before him.
16 Saaya din ra wayboro kaaruwa hinka kaa bonkoono do ka kay a jine.
17The one woman said, “Oh, my lord, I and this woman dwell in one house. I delivered a child with her in the house.
17 Wayboro fa ne: «Ya ay koyo, in da wayboro wo, fu folloŋ no iri bara ga goro. Ay na ize aru hay, nga mo go noodin fuwo ra.
18It happened the third day after I delivered, that this woman delivered also. We were together. There was no stranger with us in the house, just us two in the house.
18 Ay hayyaŋo jirbi hinza banda, wayboro wo mo hay. Iri go care banda, yaw fo kulu si no mo iri do fuwo ra, kala day iri boro hinka hinne fuwo ra.
19This woman’s child died in the night, because she lay on it.
19 Kala wayboro wo izo bu cin, zama a kani a boŋ no.
20She arose at midnight, and took my son from beside me, while your handmaid slept, and laid it in her bosom, and laid her dead child in my bosom.
20 Kal a tun cin bindi k'ay izo sambu ay ganda ra, waato kaŋ ay, ni koŋŋa goono ga jirbi, k'a daŋ nga ganda ra. A na nga ize buukwa jisi ay gande ra.
21When I rose in the morning to nurse my child, behold, it was dead; but when I had looked at it in the morning, behold, it was not my son, whom I bore.”
21 Waato kaŋ ay tun susuba ga ba ay m'ay izo naanandi, kal a go, wiiza buuko no. Amma waato kaŋ ay na laakal ye ka guna, ay faham susuba ra kaŋ manti ay izo no kaŋ ay hay.»
22The other woman said, “No; but the living is my son, and the dead is your son.” This said, “No; but the dead is your son, and the living is my son.” Thus they spoke before the king.
22 Wayboro fa mo ne: «Abada, amma fundikoono ga ti ay izo. Buukwa ga ti ni izo.» Woone mo ne: «Abada! Hay, ni izo no ga ti buukwa, fundikoono wo ay ize no.» Yaadin cine no i salaŋ d'a bonkoono jine.
23Then the king said, “The one says, ‘This is my son who lives, and your son is the dead;’ and the other says, ‘No; but your son is the dead one, and my son is the living one.’”
23 Waato din gaa no bonkoono ne: «Afa ga ne: ‹Woone kaŋ gonda fundi ay izo no, ni izo no ga ti buukwa.› Afa mo ga ne: ‹Abada!
24The king said, “Get me a sword.” They brought a sword before the king.
I kande takuba bonkoono jine.
25The king said, “Divide the living child in two, and give half to the one, and half to the other.”
25 Kala bonkoono ne: «Wa zanka fundikoono fay ihinka. I ma jare fa no wayboro fa se, jare fa mo i ma no afa se.»
26Then the woman whose the living child was spoke to the king, for her heart yearned over her son, and she said, “Oh, my lord, give her the living child, and in no way kill it!” But the other said, “It shall be neither mine nor yours. Divide it.”
26 Wayboro fa binde, kaŋ nga no ga ti koociya kaŋ ga funa din nya, a salaŋ bonkoono se, zama a go ga bakar nga izo se. A ne: «Ya ay koyo, i ma koociya no a se nda nga fundo, day i ma s'a wi!» Amma wayboro fa ne: «A ma si ciya ay wane wala ni wane, kala day i m'a fay.»
27Then the king answered, “Give her the living child, and in no way kill it. She is its mother.”
27 Gaa no bonkoono tu ka ne: «I ma ize fundikoono no wo kaŋ ne i ma s'a wi din se zama nga no ga ti koociya nyaŋo.»
28All Israel heard of the judgment which the king had judged; and they feared the king: for they saw that the wisdom of God was in him, to do justice.
28 Israyla kulu binde maa ciito kaŋ bonkoono dumbu din. I humburu bonkoono mo, zama i bay laakal kaŋ ga ti Irikoy wane go bonkoono do ciiti teeyaŋ se.
