1Joash was seven years old when he began to reign; and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Zibiah, of Beersheba.
1 Yowasa gonda jiiri iyye waato kaŋ a sintin ka may. A may mo jiiri waytaaci Urusalima ra. A nyaŋo maa Zibiya, Beyer-Seba boro no.
2Joash did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh all the days of Jehoiada the priest.
2 Yowasa te haŋ kaŋ ga saba Rabbi diyaŋ gaa Alfa Yehoyda funayaŋ jirbey kulu ra.
3Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he became the father of sons and daughters.
4It happened after this, that Joash intended to restore the house of Yahweh.
4 A ciya mo, woodin banda Yowasa miila nga ma Rabbi windo hanse.
5He gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, “Go out to the cities of Judah, and gather money to repair the house of your God from all Israel from year to year. See that you expedite this matter.” However the Levites didn’t do it right away.
A ne i se: «Wa koy ka Yahuda galley gana, ka nooru margu-margu Israyla kulu ra, kaŋ i g'araŋ Irikoyo windo hanse nd'a jiiri kulu.
6The king called for Jehoiada the chief, and said to him, “Why haven’t you required of the Levites to bring in the tax of Moses the servant of Yahweh, and of the assembly of Israel, out of Judah and out of Jerusalem, for the tent of the testimony?”
7For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up God’s house; and they also gave all the dedicated things of the house of Yahweh to the Baals.
7 Zama wayboro laala din, Ataliya, a izey jin ka Irikoy windo ku, Rabbi windo jinay kaŋ i fay waani kulu nooya, ka goy d'ey Baaley se.
8So the king commanded, and they made a chest, and set it outside at the gate of the house of Yahweh.
8 Bonkoono binde na lordi te. I na sundurku fo te mo k'a jisi taray, Rabbi windo meyo gaa.
9They made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in for Yahweh the tax that Moses the servant of God laid on Israel in the wilderness.
9 I fe Yahuda nda Urusalima ra ka ne i ma kande Rabbi se jangal kaŋ Musa, Irikoy tamo, daŋ Israyla boŋ saajo ra.
10All the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end.
10 Koyey kulu nda jama kulu te bine kaani ka kand'a. I n'a daŋ sundurko ra, kal a to.
11It was so, that whenever the chest was brought to the king’s officers by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king’s scribe and the chief priest’s officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to its place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.
11 A ga ciya mo, waati kulu kaŋ Lawi borey ga kande sundurko bonkoono goy-teerey do, i ga di nzarfu boobo go a ra, gaa bonkoono hantumkwa, da alfaga beero goy-teero ma kaa ka sundurko feeri ka haŋ kaŋ go a ra ku ka koy. I ga sundurko ye nga nango ra koyne. Yaadin no i soobay ka te zaari ka koy zaari, i na nzarfu boobo margu-margu mo.
12The king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of Yahweh; and they hired masons and carpenters to restore the house of Yahweh, and also such as worked iron and brass to repair the house of Yahweh.
12 Bonkoono Yehoyda mo n'a no Rabbi windo goy-teerey se.
13So the workmen worked, and the work of repairing went forward in their hands, and they set up God’s house in its state, and strengthened it.
13 Goy-teerey binde goy, goyo mo kubay i kambey ra. I na Rabbi windo ye ka te mate kaŋ a go za doŋ, i n'a gaabandi mo.
14When they had made an end, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, of which were made vessels for the house of Yahweh, even vessels with which to minister and to offer, and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. They offered burnt offerings in the house of Yahweh continually all the days of Jehoiada.
I na sargay kaŋ i ga ton no mo Rabbi windo ra kaŋ sinda fappeyaŋ Yehoyda jirbey kulu ra.
15But Jehoiada grew old and was full of days, and he died; one hundred thirty years old was he when he died.
15 Amma Yehoyda kaa ka zeen, a kungu nda ndunnya kal a bu mo. A jiirey jiiri zangu nda waranza no waato kaŋ a bu.
16They buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, and toward God and his house.
17Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king listened to them.
17 I go no, Yehoyda buuyaŋo banda, kala Yahuda mayraykoyey kaa ka sombu bonkoono se. Bonkoono mo hangan i se.
18They forsook the house of Yahweh, the God of their fathers, and served the Asherim and the idols: and wrath came on Judah and Jerusalem for this their guiltiness.
18 Kal i fay da Rabbi, ngey kaayey Irikoyo windo. I ye ka may wayboro himandi bundu toorey se, da tooru fooyaŋ. Futay mo kaŋ Yahuda nda Urusalima boŋ i taalo din sabbay se.
19Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again to Yahweh; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.
19 Kulu nda yaadin Rabbi na annabiyaŋ donton i gaa, hala i ma ye ka kand'ey Rabbi do. I n'i bayrandi, amma i mana hanga jeeri.
20The Spirit of God came on Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest; and he stood above the people, and said to them, “Thus says God, ‘Why do you disobey the commandments of Yahweh, so that you can’t prosper? Because you have forsaken Yahweh, he has also forsaken you.’”
20 Rabbi Biya mo kaa Zakariya Alfa Yehoyda ize boŋ. A kay jama se beene ka ne i se: «Yaa no Irikoy ci: Ifo se no araŋ goono ga Rabbi lordey daaru, hal araŋ ma jaŋ ka du albarka?
21They conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of Yahweh.
21 I na me-hawyaŋ soola Zakariya boŋ k'a catu nda tondiyaŋ kal a bu bonkoono lordo boŋ, noodin Rabbi windo batama ra.
22Thus Joash the king didn’t remember the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but killed his son. When he died, he said, “May Yahweh look at it, and repay it.”
22 Yaadin cine no bonkoono Yowasa mana fongu nda gomno kaŋ a baabo Yehoyda te nga se, amma a n'a izo wi. Saaya kaŋ cine a goono ga ba ka bu, Zakariya ne: «Rabbi ma guna, ka bana.»
23It happened at the end of the year, that the army of the Syrians came up against him: and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all their spoil to the king of Damascus.
23 A ciya binde, jiiro bananta, kala Suriya borey kande Yowasa gaa wongu. I kaa Yahuda nda Urusalima ka jama mayraykoyey kulu halaci borey ra. I n'i wongu arzakey kulu sambu ka kond'ey Damaskos bonkoono se.
24For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men; and Yahweh delivered a very great army into their hand, because they had forsaken Yahweh, the God of their fathers. So they executed judgment on Joash.
24 Zama Suriya wongu marga boro ciraariyaŋ no i kande.
25When they were departed for him (for they left him very sick), his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and killed him on his bed, and he died; and they buried him in the city of David, but they didn’t bury him in the tombs of the kings.
25 Waato kaŋ i fay d'a mo, (zama i fay d'a da doori korno), kal a tamey na me haw a boŋ Alfa Yehoyda izo kuro sabbay se. I na bonkoono wi nga daaro boŋ. A bu, i n'a fiji mo Dawda birno ra, amma i man'a fiji bonkooney saarayey ra.
26These are those who conspired against him: Zabad the son of Shimeath the Ammonitess, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith the Moabitess.
26 Wo kaŋ yaŋ na me-hawyaŋo te a se, ngey neeya: Zabad, kaŋ nyaŋo maa Simeyat Amon boro no, da Yehozabad, kaŋ nyaŋo maa Simrit Mowab boro no.
27Now concerning his sons, and the greatness of the burdens laid on him, and the rebuilding of God’s house, behold, they are written in the commentary of the book of the kings. Amaziah his son reigned in his place.
27 A izey sanni ciine ra da muraadu tiŋo beerey kaŋ yaŋ i dake a boŋ, da Irikoy windo hanseyaŋo, ngey neeya, i n'i hantum bonkooney baaru tira ra. A izo Amaziya na mayray te a nango ra.
