1In the twelfth year of Ahaz king of Judah, Hoshea the son of Elah began to reign in Samaria over Israel for nine years.
1 Yahuda bonkoono Ahaz mayra jiiri way cindi hinkanta ra no Ela izo Hoseya te bonkooni Samariya ra Israyla boŋ. Jiiri yagga mo no a go ga may.
2He did that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, yet not as the kings of Israel who were before him.
2 A na teera laalo te Rabbi diyaŋ gaa, amma manti sanda Israyla bonkooney kaŋ yaŋ n'a jin cine.
3Against him came up Shalmaneser king of Assyria; and Hoshea became his servant, and brought him tribute.
3 Assiriya bonkoono Salmaneser kaa ka wongu nd'a, Hoseya mo ciya a bannya ka kande a se jangal.
4The king of Assyria found conspiracy in Hoshea; for he had sent messengers to So king of Egypt, and offered no tribute to the king of Assyria, as he had done year by year: therefore the king of Assyria shut him up, and bound him in prison.
4 Assiriya bonkoono na murteyaŋ munaficitaray gar Hoseya do. Zama a jin ka diyayaŋ donton Misira bonkoono So do. A mana jangal samba Assiriya bonkoono do mo, mate kaŋ a doona ka te jiiri kulu. Woodin sabbay se no Assiriya bonkoono n'a haw k'a gaay kasu ra.
5Then the king of Assyria came up throughout all the land, and went up to Samaria, and besieged it three years.
5 Assiriya bonkoono ziji mo ka gana ka bisa laabo kulu ra. A ziji ka koy Samariya k'a windi nda wongu jiiri hinza.
6In the ninth year of Hoshea the king of Assyria took Samaria, and carried Israel away to Assyria, and placed them in Halah, and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.
6 Hoseya jiiri yagganta ra no Assiriya bonkoono na Samariya ŋwa ka Israyla ku. A kond'ey Assiriya k'i gorandi Hala, Habor isa me gaa, Gozan laabu da Mediyancey kwaarey ra mo.
7It was so, because the children of Israel had sinned against Yahweh their God, who brought them up out of the land of Egypt from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and had feared other gods,
7 A ciya mo, Israyla izey na zunubi te Rabbi ngey Irikoyo se, nga kaŋ kand'ey i ma fun Misira laabo ra nda Misira bonkoono Firawna* kambe ra. I humburu de-koy fooyaŋ,
8and walked in the statutes of the nations, whom Yahweh cast out from before the children of Israel, and of the kings of Israel, which they made.
8 i dira mebarawey alaadey boŋ, ngey kaŋ yaŋ Rabbi gaaray Israyla jine. I na Israyla bonkooney alaadey kaŋ i te mo gana.
9The children of Israel did secretly things that were not right against Yahweh their God: and they built them high places in all their cities, from the tower of the watchmen to the fortified city;
9 Tuguray ra mo Israyla izey te hariyaŋ kaŋ mana hagu Rabbi ngey Irikoyo diyaŋ gaa. Koyne, i na tudey boŋ sududuyaŋ nangey cina ngey kwaarey kulu ra, za batukoy cinari kuuko gaa kal a ma koy kwaara kaŋ gonda birni cinari gaa.
10and they set them up pillars and Asherim on every high hill, and under every green tree;
10 I na cinariyaŋ da wayboro himandi bundu tooruyaŋ sinji ngey boŋ se tudu kuuku kulu boŋ, da tuuri kobtokoy kulu cire.
11and there they burnt incense in all the high places, as did the nations whom Yahweh carried away before them; and they worked wicked things to provoke Yahweh to anger;
11 Nangey din mo no i ga dugu ton sududuyaŋ nangey kulu ra, sanda mate kaŋ cine mebarawey kaŋ Rabbi gaaray i jine din ga te. I na teera laaloyaŋ te zama i ma Rabbi zokoti se.
12and they served idols, of which Yahweh had said to them, “You shall not do this thing.”
12 I may toorey se kaŋ yaŋ Rabbi n'i sanni te ka ne: «Araŋ ma si hayey din te me!»
13Yet Yahweh testified to Israel, and to Judah, by every prophet, and every seer, saying, “Turn from your evil ways, and keep my commandments and my statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by my servants the prophets.”
13 Kulu nda yaadin, annabi fo kulu, da borey kaŋ yaŋ ga jina fonnay kulu me ra Rabbi ci Israyla nda Yahuda se ka ne: «Wa bare ka fun araŋ fondo laaley ra. Araŋ m'ay lordey nd'ay hin sanney haggoy, ay asariya kulu boŋ kaŋ ay n'araŋ kaayey lordi nd'a mo, kaŋ ay n'ay tam annabey donton d'a.»
14Notwithstanding, they would not listen, but hardened their neck, like the neck of their fathers, who didn’t believe in Yahweh their God.
14 Amma i wangu ka maa, i na hanga sanday te, sanda i kaayey hanga sanda cine, kaŋ yaŋ mana Rabbi ngey Irikoyo cimandi.
15They rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified to them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and followed the nations that were around them, concerning whom Yahweh had commanded them that they should not do like them.
15 I wangu a hin sanney d'a sappa kaŋ a te d'i kaayey d'a seedey kaŋ yaŋ a ci i se. I na hari yaamoyaŋ gana hal i ciya yaamoyaŋ. I na dumi cindey kaŋ yaŋ go g'i windi gana, ngey kaŋ yaŋ boŋ Rabbi lordi i se ka ne i ma si goy d'i goyey dumi.
16They forsook all the commandments of Yahweh their God, and made them molten images, even two calves, and made an Asherah, and worshiped all the army of the sky, and served Baal.
17They caused their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire, and used divination and enchantments, and sold themselves to do that which was evil in the sight of Yahweh, to provoke him to anger.
17 I na ngey ize arey da ngey ize wayey daŋ danji ra. I na gunayaŋ da dobo te. I na ngey boŋ neera zama ngey ma laala te Rabbi diyaŋ gaa k'a zokoti.
18Therefore Yahweh was very angry with Israel, and removed them out of his sight: there was none left but the tribe of Judah only.
18 To, woodin yaŋ kulu sabbay se no Rabbi te bine Israyla se gumo. A n'i ganandi ka kaa nga jine. Afo kulu mana cindi, kala Yahuda kunda hinne.
19Also Judah didn’t keep the commandments of Yahweh their God, but walked in the statutes of Israel which they made.
19 Baa Yahuda mo, i mana Rabbi ngey Irikoyo lordey haggoy bo, amma i dira Israyla farilley ra kaŋ yaŋ i daŋ.
20Yahweh rejected all the seed of Israel, and afflicted them, and delivered them into the hand of spoilers, until he had cast them out of his sight.
20 Rabbi mo wangu Israyla izey kulu. A n'i kaynandi k'i daŋ komkoy kambe ra, hal a n'i furu ka kaa nga jine.
21For he tore Israel from the house of David; and they made Jeroboam the son of Nebat king: and Jeroboam drove Israel from following Yahweh, and made them sin a great sin.
21 Zama a na Israyla fay ka kaa Dawda dumo gaa. Israyla na Yerobowam Nebat izo didiji bonkooni. Yerobowam mo na Israyla ganji Rabbi ganayaŋ, a n'i daŋ zunubi bambata teeyaŋ.
22The children of Israel walked in all the sins of Jeroboam which he did; they didn’t depart from them;
22 Israyla izey mo na Yerobowam zunubey kulu kaŋ yaŋ a te gana, i mana fay d'ey.
23until Yahweh removed Israel out of his sight, as he spoke by all his servants the prophets. So Israel was carried away out of their own land to Assyria to this day.
23 Hal a to naŋ kaŋ Rabbi na Israyla ganandi ka kaa nga jine, sanda mate kaŋ cine a ci nga tam annabey kulu me ra. Yaadin no i na Israyla ganandi nd'a nga laabo ra ka kond'a Assiriya laabu hala ka kaa hunkuna.
24The king of Assyria brought men from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Avva, and from Hamath and Sepharvaim, and placed them in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel; and they possessed Samaria, and lived in the cities of it.
25So it was, at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they didn’t fear Yahweh: therefore Yahweh sent lions among them, which killed some of them.
25 A ciya mo nango din i goray sintina, i mana Rabbi beerandi. Woodin sabbay se no Rabbi mo na muusu beeri yaŋ donton i ra, i na afooyaŋ wi i ra.
26Therefore they spoke to the king of Assyria, saying, “The nations which you have carried away, and placed in the cities of Samaria, don’t know the law of the god of the land. Therefore he has sent lions among them, and behold, they kill them, because they don’t know the law of the god of the land.”
26 Woodin sabbay se no i salaŋ Assiriya bonkoono se ka ne: «Mebarawey kaŋ ni ku ka jisi Samariya kwaarey ra, i si laabo din Irikoyo asariya bay. Woodin sabbay se no a na muusu beeri yaŋ donton i ra. Ngey mo neeya g'i wi, zama i si laabo Irikoyo asariya bay.»
27Then the king of Assyria commanded, saying, “Carry there one of the priests whom you brought from there; and let them go and dwell there, and let him teach them the law of the god of the land.”
27 Alwaato din Assiriya bonkoono lordi ka ne: «Kal i ma sambu tamtaray alfagey ra afo kaŋ i kande ka fun noodin. I ma naŋ a ma ye ka koy ka goro noodin laabo ra, ka borey dondonandi laabo din Irikoyo asariya.»
28So one of the priests whom they had carried away from Samaria came and lived in Bethel, and taught them how they should fear Yahweh.
28 Alfagey kaŋ i ku Samariya ra binde, afo kaa ka goro Betel. A n'i dondonandi mate kaŋ boro ga humburu Rabbi nd'a.
29However every nation made gods of their own, and put them in the houses of the high places which the Samaritans had made, every nation in their cities in which they lived.
29 Kulu nda yaadin mebaraw fo kulu te nga boŋ tooruyaŋ k'i daŋ tudey boŋ fuwey ra, kaŋ yaŋ Samariyancey te, mebaraw kulu ngey kwaara ra kaŋ ra i ga goro.
30The men of Babylon made Succoth Benoth, and the men of Cuth made Nergal, and the men of Hamath made Ashima,
30 Babila borey te Sukkot-Benet. Kuta borey mo te Nergal. Hamat borey te Asima.
31and the Avvites made Nibhaz and Tartak; and the Sepharvites burnt their children in the fire to Adrammelech and Anammelech, the gods of Sepharvaim.
31 Abbi borey te Nibhaz da Tartak. Sefarbancey mo na ngey izeyaŋ daŋ danji ra Adrammelek da Anammelek se, kaŋ ga ti Sefarbayim toorey.
32So they feared Yahweh, and made to them from among themselves priests of the high places, who sacrificed for them in the houses of the high places.
32 Yaadin no i humburu Rabbi. I ra koyne i na alfagayaŋ suuban boro yaamey ra tudey boŋ sududuyaŋ nangey se, borey kaŋ yaŋ ga sargay te i se i tudey boŋ sududuyaŋ fuwey ra.
33They feared Yahweh, and served their own gods, after the ways of the nations from among whom they had been carried away.
33 I humburu Rabbi ka may ngey toorey se mo, mebarawey kaŋ yaŋ ra i n'i sambu alaadey boŋ.
34To this day they do what they did before: they don’t fear Yahweh, neither do they follow their statutes, or their ordinances, or the law or the commandment which Yahweh commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;
34 Hala hõ i ga goy ngey doŋ alaadey boŋ. I mana Rabbi beerandi bo. I mana goy ngey hin sanney boŋ mo, wala ngey alaadey, wala asariya boŋ, wala Rabbi lordey kaŋ yaŋ a na Yakuba izey lordi nd'a din boŋ, dumo kaŋ a n'a no maa Israyla,
35with whom Yahweh had made a covenant, and commanded them, saying, “You shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them;
36but you shall fear Yahweh, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and with an outstretched arm, and you shall bow yourselves to him, and you shall sacrifice to him.
36 Amma Rabbi, nga kaŋ fun d'araŋ Misira laabo ra da dabari bambata da kambe sallanta, nga no araŋ ga humburu. Nga mo no araŋ ga sombu a se; a se mo no araŋ ga sargay te.
37The statutes and the ordinances, and the law and the commandment, which he wrote for you, you shall observe to do forevermore. You shall not fear other gods.
37 A hin sanney d'a farilley d'a asariya d'a lordey, kaŋ yaŋ a hantum araŋ se, araŋ g'i haggoy hal abada, zama araŋ m'i te. Araŋ ma si humburu de-koy fooyaŋ bo.
38You shall not forget the covenant that I have made with you; neither shall you fear other gods.
38 Sappa kaŋ ay te d'araŋ mo, araŋ ma si diny'a bo. Araŋ ma si humburu de-koy fooyaŋ.
39But you shall fear Yahweh your God; and he will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.”
39 Amma Rabbi araŋ Irikoyo no araŋ ga humburu. A g'araŋ faaba mo araŋ ibarey kulu kambe ra.»
40However they did not listen, but they did what they did before.
40 Amma i mana hangan. I goy ngey doŋ alaadey boŋ.
41So these nations feared Yahweh, and served their engraved images. Their children likewise, and their children’s children, as their fathers did, so they do to this day.
41 Dumi woodin yaŋ mo, i humburu Rabbi ka may sooguyaŋ hima-careyaŋ se. Yaadin mo no i izey d'i haamey. Sanda mate kaŋ i kaayey te, yaadin no ngey mo goono ga te hala ka kaa sohõ.
