1Some men came down from Judea and taught the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised after the custom of Moses, you can’t be saved.”
1 Boro fooyaŋ mo fun Yahudiya. I goono ga nya-izey dondonandi ka ne, way: «D'i mana araŋ dambangu Musa alaada boŋ, kulu araŋ si hin ka du faaba.»
2Therefore when Paul and Barnabas had no small discord and discussion with them, they appointed Paul and Barnabas, and some others of them, to go up to Jerusalem to the apostles and elders about this question.
2 Sanno din kande kakaw da canda-canda boobo ngey nda Bulos da Barnaba game ra. Nya-izey na Bulos da Barnaba nd'i ra boro fooyaŋ donton i ma konda sanno din diyey da arkusey do Urusalima.
3They, being sent on their way by the assembly, passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, declaring the conversion of the Gentiles. They caused great joy to all the brothers. The word for “brothers” here and where the context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.”
3 Gaa no, waato kaŋ Almasihu marga n'i gaakasinay da hindoonay kaŋ ga kond'ey baani, i bisa Finiciya da Samariya ka dumi cindey bareyaŋo baaro dede. Baaru woodin kande nya-izey kulu se farhã bambata.
4When they had come to Jerusalem, they were received by the assembly and the apostles and the elders, and they reported all things that God had done with them.
4 Waato kaŋ i kaa Urusalima, Almasihu marga nda diyey da arkusey n'i kubayni. Ngey mo na hay kulu kaŋ Irikoy te ngey do dede.
5But some of the sect of the Pharisees who believed rose up, saying, “It is necessary to circumcise them, and to command them to keep the law of Moses.”
5 Amma Farisi fonda boro fooyaŋ kaŋ yaŋ cimandi tun ka ne: «A ga tilas no i m'i dambangu k'i lordi mo ka ne i ma Musa lordey gana.»
6The apostles and the elders were gathered together to see about this matter.
7When there had been much discussion, Peter rose up and said to them, “Brothers, you know that a good while ago God made a choice among you, that by my mouth the nations should hear the word of the Good News, and believe.
A ne i se: «Ay nya-izey, araŋ ga bay kaŋ za gayyaŋ no Irikoy n'ay suuban araŋ game ra, zama ay me ra dumi cindey ma maa Baaru Hanna sanno ka cimandi.
8God, who knows the heart, testified about them, giving them the Holy Spirit, just like he did to us.
8 Irikoy mo, kaŋ ga biney bay n'i seeda, za kaŋ a n'i no Biya Hanna, sanda mate kaŋ cine a n'iri no.
9He made no distinction between us and them, cleansing their hearts by faith.
9 In d'ey game ra mo, Irikoy mana fayanka fo te, za kaŋ a n'i biney hanandi cimbeeri* do.
10Now therefore why do you tempt God, that you should put a yoke on the neck of the disciples which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear?
11But we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus, TR adds “Christ” just as they are.”
11 Amma iri cimandi kaŋ Rabbi Yesu gomno do no iri du faaba, sanda mate kaŋ cine ngey mo du a.»
12All the multitude kept silence, and they listened to Barnabas and Paul reporting what signs and wonders God had done among the nations through them.
12 Gaa no marga kulu dangay ka hangan Barnaba nda Bulos se. I goono ga alaamey da dambara harey kaŋ yaŋ Irikoy te ngey do dumi cindey game ra din baaru dede.
13After they were silent, James answered, “Brothers, listen to me.
13 Waato kaŋ i dangay no Yakuba na sanno sambu ka ne:
14Simeon has reported how God first visited the nations, to take out of them a people for his name.
14 «Ay nya-izey, wa hangan ay se ka maa. Simeyon na baaro dede mate kaŋ cine Irikoy jin ka dumi cindey kunfa, zama a ma jama fooyaŋ kaa i ra nga maa se.
15This agrees with the words of the prophets. As it is written,
15 Annabey sanney mo ga saba nda woodin, mate kaŋ i n'a hantum ka ne:
16‘After these things I will return. I will again build the tabernacle of David, which has fallen. I will again build its ruins. I will set it up,
17That the rest of men may seek after the Lord; All the Gentiles who are called by my name, Says the Lord, who does all these things. Amos 9:11-12
17 zama boro cindey ma Rabbi ceeci, da dumi cindey kulu kaŋ i g'i ce d'ay maa. Yaadin no Rabbi ci, nga kaŋ ga hayey din te,
18All his works are known to God from eternity.’
18 kaŋ yaŋ go bayrante za zamana sintina.›
19“Therefore my judgment is that we don’t trouble those from among the Gentiles who turn to God,
19 Woodin sabbay se binde, ay diyaŋo gaa, borey kaŋ yaŋ ga bare ka ye Irikoy do dumi cindey ra, iri ma s'i taabandi.
20but that we write to them that they abstain from the pollution of idols, from sexual immorality, from what is strangled, and from blood.
21For Moses from generations of old has in every city those who preach him, being read in the synagogues every Sabbath.”
21 Zama za doŋ zamaney ra, kwaara ka kaa kwaara Musa gonda waazukoyaŋ. I g'a tira caw Yahudance diina marga fuwey ra asibti kulu.»
22Then it seemed good to the apostles and the elders, with the whole assembly, to choose men out of their company, and send them to Antioch with Paul and Barnabas: Judas called Barsabbas, and Silas, chief men among the brothers. The word for “brothers” here and where the context allows may also be correctly translated “brothers and sisters” or “siblings.”
23They wrote these things by their hand: “The apostles, the elders, and the brothers, to the brothers who are of the Gentiles in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia: greetings.
23 I na woone wo hantum ka daŋ i kambey ra ka ne: «Iri, diyey da arkusey, kaŋ ti araŋ nya-izeyaŋ, go ga dumi cindey nya-izey kaŋ yaŋ go Antiyos, da Suriya, da Silisiya fo.
24Because we have heard that some who went out from us have troubled you with words, unsettling your souls, saying, ‘You must be circumcised and keep the law,’ to whom we gave no commandment;
24 Iri maa baaru kaŋ boro fooyaŋ kaŋ fun iri do goono g'araŋ taabandi nda sanniyaŋ k'araŋ biney kankam, kaŋ yaŋ iri wo mana lordi fo no i se.
25it seemed good to us, having come to one accord, to choose out men and send them to you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
25 Iri mo di, za kaŋ iri te me folloŋ, a ga boori iri ma boro fooyaŋ suuban k'i donton araŋ do. I ga kaa iri baakoy Barnaba da Bulos banda,
26men who have risked their lives for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
27We have sent therefore Judas and Silas, who themselves will also tell you the same things by word of mouth.
28For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit, and to us, to lay no greater burden on you than these necessary things:
28 Zama a boori Biya Hanna se d'iri mo se, iri ma si tiŋay fooyaŋ dake araŋ boŋ da manti hayey kaŋ yaŋ ga tilas no:
29that you abstain from things sacrificed to idols, from blood, from things strangled, and from sexual immorality, from which if you keep yourselves, it will be well with you. Farewell.”
30So, when they were sent off, they came to Antioch. Having gathered the multitude together, they delivered the letter.
30 A binde, kaŋ i n'i sallama, i zulli ka koy Antiyos. Kaŋ i na marga margu, i na tira no i se.
31When they had read it, they rejoiced over the encouragement.
31 Waato kaŋ i n'a caw, i farhã bine-gaabandiyaŋo sabbay se.
32Judas and Silas, also being prophets themselves, encouraged the brothers with many words, and strengthened them.
32 Yahuta nda Sila mo, zama annabiyaŋ no, na nya-izey yaamar da sanni boobo k'i no bine-gaabi.
33After they had spent some time there, they were sent back with greetings from the brothers to the apostles.
33 I te jirbiyaŋ noodin, gaa no laakal kanay ra no nya-izey n'i sallama i ma ye borey kaŋ yaŋ n'i donton do.
34 Some manuscripts add: But it seemed good to Silas to stay there.
35But Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch, teaching and preaching the word of the Lord, with many others also.
35 Bulos da Barnaba mo goro Antiyos. I goono ga dondonandi ka Rabbi sanno waazu, ngey da boro boobo fooyaŋ i banda.
36After some days Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s return now and visit our brothers in every city in which we proclaimed the word of the Lord, to see how they are doing.”
36 Jirbi fooyaŋ banda Bulos ne Barnaba se: «Sohõ kay iri ma ye kwaara kulu ra ka nya-izey kunfa, nangey kaŋ iri na Rabbi sanno waazu, hal iri ma du ka di mate kaŋ i bara nd'a.»
37Barnabas planned to take John, who was called Mark, with them also.
37 Barnaba mo ga ba nga ma konda Yohanna kaŋ se i ga ne Markos ngey banda.
38But Paul didn’t think that it was a good idea to take with them someone who had withdrawn from them in Pamphylia, and didn’t go with them to do the work.
38 Amma Bulos di a mana hima a ma koy ngey banda, zama Bamfiliya no a fun i banda, a mana koy goy i banda.
39Then the contention grew so sharp that they separated from each other. Barnabas took Mark with him, and sailed away to Cyprus,
39 Kakaw bambata furo i game ra hal a to naŋ kaŋ Bulos da Barnaba fay. Barnaba konda Markos nga banda. I furo hi ra ka koy Kubrus.
40but Paul chose Silas, and went out, being commended by the brothers to the grace of God.
40 Amma Bulos na Sila suuban, nga nd'a koy. Nya-izey mo n'i talfi Rabbi gomno gaa.
41He went through Syria and Cilicia, strengthening the assemblies.
41 Bulos bisa Suriya da Silisiya ka Almasihu margey no bine-gaabi.
