Daniel

5

1Belshazzar the king made a great feast to a thousand of his lords, and drank wine before the thousand.
2Belshazzar, while he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which Nebuchadnezzar his father had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king and his lords, his wives and his concubines, might drink from them.
2 Saaya kaŋ Belsazzar na duvaŋo taba, kal a lordi ka ne i ma kande wura nda nzarfu jinayey kaŋ a kaayo Nebukadnezzar kande ka fun Irikoy fuwo kaŋ go Urusalima ra, zama bonkoono da nga koy kayney da bonkoono wandey d'a wahayey, i ma haŋ jinayey din ra.
3Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of God’s house which was at Jerusalem; and the king and his lords, his wives and his concubines, drank from them.
3 Saaya din i kande wura jinayey kaŋ i ku Irikoy fuwo kaŋ go Urusalima ra. Bonkoono nda nga wandey mo d'a wahayey d'a koy kayney haŋ i ra.
4They drank wine, and praised the gods of gold, and of silver, of brass, of iron, of wood, and of stone.
5In the same hour came forth the fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the lampstand on the plaster of the wall of the king’s palace: and the king saw the part of the hand that wrote.
5 Saaya din binde boro kambayze yaŋ fatta ka hantumyaŋ te fitilla tanjay bonkoono faada fuwo botoga gaa. Bonkoono go ga di mo kambe jara kaŋ go ga hantumo te.
6Then the king’s face was changed in him, and his thoughts troubled him; and the joints of his thighs were loosened, and his knees struck one against another.
6 Saaya din bonkoono moyduma yalo bare a ra, a fonguyaŋey mo n'a taabandi, a canta biriyey mo taŋ, a kangey mo soobay ka kar care gaa ngey boŋ se.
7The king cried aloud to bring in the enchanters, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers. The king spoke and said to the wise men of Babylon, Whoever shall read this writing, and show me its interpretation, shall be clothed with purple, and have a chain of gold about his neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.
8Then came in all the king’s wise men; but they could not read the writing, nor make known to the king the interpretation.
8 Saaya din kala bonkoono laakalkooney kulu furo faada ra, amma i si hin ka hantumo caw, wala k'a feerijo bangandi bonkoono se.
9Then was king Belshazzar greatly troubled, and his face was changed in him, and his lords were perplexed.
9 Saaya din bonkoono Belsazzar kankam gumo, a moyduma alhaalo mo bare koyne, hal a koy kayney mo boŋ haw.
10 Now the queen by reason of the words of the king and his lords came into the banquet house: the queen spoke and said, O king, live forever; don’t let your thoughts trouble you, nor let your face be changed.
10 Amma bonkoono nda nga koy kayney sanney sabbay se, kala koy zeeno fo wande kaa bato fuwo ra.
11There is a man in your kingdom, in whom is the spirit of the holy gods; and in the days of your father light and understanding and wisdom, like the wisdom of the gods, were found in him; and the king Nebuchadnezzar your father, the king, I say, your father, made him master of the magicians, enchanters, Chaldeans, and soothsayers;
11 Boro fo go no ni mayray laabo ra, kaŋ koy hanney biya go a ra. Ni kaayo jirbey ra a na kaari nda fahamay da laakal gar a ra danga de-koyey laakalo wane dumi. Bonkoono, ni kaayo Nebukadnezzar no ay goono ga ne. Bonkoono ni kaayo a n'a daŋ moodabalkoyey da handariya ceecikoy da Kaldancey nda gunakoy jine boro,
12because an excellent spirit, and knowledge, and understanding, interpreting of dreams, and showing of dark sentences, and dissolving of doubts, were found in the same Daniel, whom the king named Belteshazzar. Now let Daniel be called, and he will show the interpretation.
Sohõ binde, kal i ma Daniyel ce, nga wo ga feerijo cabe.»
13Then was Daniel brought in before the king. The king spoke and said to Daniel, Are you that Daniel, who are of the children of the captivity of Judah, whom the king my father brought out of Judah?
13 Saaya din i kande Daniyel bonkoono jine. Bonkoono salaŋ Daniyel se ka ne: «Nin no ga ti Daniyel din kaŋ go Yahuda tamtaray izey do haray, ngey kaŋ yaŋ ay kaayo kande ka fun Yahuda?
14I have heard of you, that the spirit of the gods is in you, and that light and understanding and excellent wisdom are found in you.
14 Ay jin ka maa ni baaru, way, koyey biya go ni do, i ga kaari da fahamay da bayray kaŋ bisa i kulu gar ni do.
15Now the wise men, the enchanters, have been brought in before me, that they should read this writing, and make known to me its interpretation; but they could not show the interpretation of the thing.
15 Sohõ binde i kande laakalkooney nda handariya ceecikoy ay jine zama i ma hantumo wo caw ay se, i m'ay bayrandi nd'a feerijo, amma i mana hin ka haya din feerijo bangandi ay se.
16But I have heard of you, that you can give interpretations, and dissolve doubts; now if you can read the writing, and make known to me its interpretation, you shall be clothed with purple, and have a chain of gold about your neck, and shall be the third ruler in the kingdom.
16 Amma ay maa ni baaru, way, nin no ga waani feeriji nooyaŋ nda sikka ganandiyaŋ. Sohõ binde da ni ga hin ka hantumo wo caw k'ay bayrandi d'a feerijo mo, i ga suniya faka ni gaa, i ga wura sisiri daŋ ni jinda gaa, ni ga ciya mayraykoy hinzante laabo ra.»
17Then Daniel answered before the king, Let your gifts be to yourself, and give your rewards to another; nevertheless I will read the writing to the king, and make known to him the interpretation.
Kulu nda yaadin, ay ga hantumo caw bonkoono se, ay m'a bayrandi nd'a feerijo mo.
18You, king, the Most High God gave Nebuchadnezzar your father the kingdom, and greatness, and glory, and majesty:
18 Ya nin Bonkoono, Irikoy kaŋ ga beeri nda ikulu, a na ni kaayo Nebukadnezzar no koytaray da beeray da darza da dabari.
19and because of the greatness that he gave him, all the peoples, nations, and languages trembled and feared before him: whom he would he killed, and whom he would he kept alive; and whom he would he raised up, and whom he would he put down.
19 Beera kaŋ a n'a no, a se no borey da dumey da deeney kulu gaahamey jijiri, i humburu a jine. Boro kaŋ a ga ba nga ma wi, kal a m'a wi. Boro kaŋ a ga ba nga ma naŋ da fundi, kal a m'a naŋ da fundi. Boro kaŋ a ga ba nga m'a beerandi, kal a m'a beerandi. Boro kaŋ a ga ba nga m'a kaynandi mo, kal a m'a kaynandi.
20But when his heart was lifted up, and his spirit was hardened so that he dealt proudly, he was deposed from his kingly throne, and they took his glory from him:
20 Amma saaya kaŋ a te boŋbeeri, a hanga sandi mo hal a na nga boŋ jare, saaya din Irikoy n'a tumbi nda nga koytara karga, a n'a darza ta a gaa.
21and he was driven from the sons of men, and his heart was made like the animals’, and his dwelling was with the wild donkeys; he was fed with grass like oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of the sky; until he knew that the Most High God rules in the kingdom of men, and that he sets up over it whomever he will.
21 A n'a gaaray k'a kaa Adam-izey do, a n'a bina himandi almaney wane cine. A nangora mo go ganji farkayey banda, i n'a ŋwaayandi nda subu danga haw cine, a gaahamo tay da beene harandaŋ hala waato kaŋ a bay kaŋ Irikoy kaŋ ga beeri nda ikulu ga may borey mayray ra, a ga boro kaŋ nga ga ba mo sinji a boŋ.
22You, his son, Belshazzar, have not humbled your heart, though you knew all this,
23but have lifted up yourself against the Lord of heaven; and they have brought the vessels of his house before you, and you and your lords, your wives and your concubines, have drunk wine from them; and you have praised the gods of silver and gold, of brass, iron, wood, and stone, which don’t see, nor hear, nor know; and the God in whose hand your breath is, and whose are all your ways, you have not glorified.
Amma Irikoy, nga kaŋ ni fulanzama da ni fondey kulu mo go a kamba ra, ni man'a beerandi.
24Then was the part of the hand sent from before him, and this writing was inscribed.
24 Woodin sabbay se no Irikoy na kambe faata donton a ma hantumo wo jeeri.
25This is the writing that was inscribed: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UPHARSIN.
25 Hantumo kaŋ i hantum neeya: MENE, MENE, TEKEL, UFARSIN.
26This is the interpretation of the thing: MENE; God has numbered your kingdom, and brought it to an end;
26 Haya feerijo mo neeya: MENE -- Irikoy na ni mayray jirbey lasaabu, a n'a ban mo.
27TEKEL; you are weighed in the balances, and are found wanting.
27 TEKEL -- i na ni neesi neesiji ra, i na ni gar ni gaze.
28PERES; your kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
29Then commanded Belshazzar, and they clothed Daniel with purple, and put a chain of gold about his neck, and made proclamation concerning him, that he should be the third ruler in the kingdom.
30In that night Belshazzar the Chaldean King was slain.
30 Cino din ra no i na bonkoono Belsazzar Kaldanca wi.
31Darius the Mede received the kingdom, being about sixty-two years old.
31 Medanca Dariyus mo a n'a koytara ŋwa, a gonda danga jiiri waydu cindi hinka cine.
