Deuteronomy

22

1You shall not see your brother’s ox or his sheep go astray, and hide yourself from them: you shall surely bring them again to your brother.
1 Da ni di ni nya-ize yeeji wal'a feeji kaŋ te boŋdaray, ni ma si ni boŋ bare i se. Sikka si ni ga ye ka kand'ey ni nya-izo do koyne.
2If your brother isn’t near to you, or if you don’t know him, then you shall bring it home to your house, and it shall be with you until your brother seek after it, and you shall restore it to him.
2 Da ni nya-izo ga mooru nin mo, wala da ni man'a bay, kala ni ma kande almano fu ni windo ra. A ma goro noodin ni banda kala waati kaŋ ni nya-izo g'a ceeci, ni mo g'a yeti a se.
3So you shall do with his donkey; and so you shall do with his garment; and so you shall do with every lost thing of your brother’s, which he has lost, and you have found: you may not hide yourself.
3 Yaadin no ni ga te d'a farka, yaadin no ni ga te d'a kwaayo, yaadin mo no ni ga te da ni nya-izo hari darante kulu kaŋ daray a se, ni mo ni di a. Fondo si no ni m'a tugu.
4You shall not see your brother’s donkey or his ox fallen down by the way, and hide yourself from them: you shall surely help him to lift them up again.
4 Da ni di ni nya-izo farka wala a yeejo fun ka kaŋ fondo boŋ, ni ma si ni boŋ bare i se. Ni ma si jaŋ k'a gaakasinay a m'i tunandi.
5A woman shall not wear men’s clothing, neither shall a man put on women’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to Yahweh your God.
6If a bird’s nest chance to be before you in the way, in any tree or on the ground, with young ones or eggs, and the hen sitting on the young, or on the eggs, you shall not take the hen with the young:
6 Da ni go fondo ra, ni kaa ka gar curo fiti go ni jine, d'a go tuuri fo ra wala a go ganda laabo ra, a gonda curayze yaŋ wala mo gunguri yaŋ a ra, curo nyaŋo mo go ga gum izey wala gungurey boŋ, ni ma si izey da nyaŋo kulu sambu.
7you shall surely let the hen go, but the young you may take to yourself; that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days.
7 Daahir ni ga fay da nyaŋo. Amma a izey wo kay, i yadda ni m'i sambu ni boŋ se.
8When you build a new house, then you shall make a battlement for your roof, that you don’t bring blood on your house, if any man fall from there.
9You shall not sow your vineyard with two kinds of seed, lest the whole fruit be forfeited, the seed which you have sown, and the increase of the vineyard.
10You shall not plow with an ox and a donkey together.
11You shall not wear a mixed stuff, wool and linen together.
12You shall make yourselves fringes on the four borders of your cloak, with which you cover yourself.
12 Ni ma jarse jinde daŋ ni taafa kaŋ ni ga daabu nd'a boŋ taaca gaa.
13If any man takes a wife, and goes in to her, and hates her,
13 Da alboro na wande hiiji, a margu nd'a, a ye ka konn'a koyne,
14and accuses her of shameful things, and brings up an evil name on her, and says, “I took this woman, and when I came near to her, I didn’t find in her the tokens of virginity”;
14 a na haawi hari ci a gaa k'a wow, k'a maa sara, danga a ma ne: «Ay na wayboro wo hiiji, amma waati kaŋ ay koy a do, ay kaa ka gar wiiza, a sinda wandiyotaray seeda.»
15then shall the father of the young lady, and her mother, take and bring forth the tokens of the young lady’s virginity to the elders of the city in the gate;
15 Kala waybora baabo d'a nyaŋo m'a wandiyotaray seeda kaa taray ka kond'ey kwaara arkusey do faada meyo gaa.
16and the young lady’s father shall tell the elders, “I gave my daughter to this man to wife, and he hates her;
17and behold, he has accused her of shameful things, saying, ‘I didn’t find in your daughter the tokens of virginity;’ and yet these are the tokens of my daughter’s virginity.” They shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city.
Kal i ma zaara daaru kwaara arkusey jine.
18The elders of that city shall take the man and chastise him;
18 Kwaara din arkusey mo ga albora din di k'a gooji.
19and they shall fine him one hundred shekels of silver, and give them to the father of the young lady, because he has brought up an evil name on a virgin of Israel: and she shall be his wife; he may not put her away all his days.
19 I g'a jukke mo da nzarfu sekel* zangu fo k'i no wandiya din baabo se, zama a na Israyla wandiyo maa sara. Waybora mo ga goro a wande. I si yadda albora m'a fay kal a fundo me.
20But if this thing be true, that the tokens of virginity were not found in the young lady;
20 Amma da haya kaŋ a ci din cimi no, kaŋ i mana di wandiyotaray seeda waybora do,
21then they shall bring out the young lady to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has done folly in Israel, to play the prostitute in her father’s house: so you shall put away the evil from the midst of you.
21 kal i ma kand'a baabo windo meyo gaa. A kwaara alborey kulu m'a catu-catu nda tondiyaŋ k'a wi, zama a na haawi goy laalo te Israyla ra. Zama a te waykuuru nga baabo windo ra. Woodin teeyaŋ gaa no araŋ ga laala kaa d'a araŋ game ra.
22If a man be found lying with a woman married to a husband, then they shall both of them die, the man who lay with the woman, and the woman: so you shall put away the evil from Israel.
22 D'i na alboro fo di, a go ga kani nda wayboro fo kaŋ gonda kurnye, kal i boro hinka kulu ma bu, albora kaŋ kani nd'a, da waybora din bumbo. Yaadin teeyaŋ gaa no ni ga laala kaa d'a Israyla ra.
23If there is a young lady who is a virgin pledged to be married to a husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her;
23 Da wandiyo fo go no kaŋ boro fo goono g'a arwasay, alboro fo mo m'a gar kwaara, a kani nd'a mo,
24then you shall bring them both out to the gate of that city, and you shall stone them to death with stones; the lady, because she didn’t cry, being in the city; and the man, because he has humbled his neighbor’s wife: so you shall put away the evil from the midst of you.
24 kal araŋ m'i boro hinka kulu candi ka koy kwaara din meyo gaa. Araŋ m'i catu-catu nda tondiyaŋ k'i wi -- wandiya din zama a go kwaara ra amma a mana kuuwa, albora mo zama a na boro fo wande kaynandi. Woodin teeyaŋ gaa no araŋ ga laala kaa d'a araŋ game ra.
25But if the man find the lady who is pledged to be married in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her; then the man only who lay with her shall die:
25 Amma da albora na wandiya kaŋ gonda arwasu gar saaji ra, a n'a tilasandi ka kom, kala albora kaŋ n'a kom din, nga hinne ma bu.
26but to the lady you shall do nothing; there is in the lady no sin worthy of death: for as when a man rises against his neighbor, and kills him, even so is this matter;
A ga saba nda waati kaŋ boro fo ga tun nga gorokasin gaa k'a wi, yaadin cine no sanni woodin mo bara.
27for he found her in the field, the pledged to be married lady cried, and there was none to save her.
27 Zama albora din n'a gar saajo ra no, wandiya mo kuuwa, amma boro kulu si no kaŋ g'a faaba.
28If a man find a lady who is a virgin, who is not pledged to be married, and lay hold on her, and lie with her, and they be found;
28 Da alboro fo di wandiyo fo kaŋ mana te arwasu, a n'a di ka kani nd'a, hala mo i n'i gar,
29then the man who lay with her shall give to the lady’s father fifty shekels of silver, and she shall be his wife, because he has humbled her; he may not put her away all his days.
29 kulu albora kaŋ kani nd'a din ma wandiya baabo no nzarfu sekel waygu hiijay nooru. Waybora ga ciya a wande mo, zama a n'a kaynandi. I si yadda a m'a fay mo kal a fundo me.
30A man shall not take his father’s wife, and shall not uncover his father’s skirt.
