1The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
1 Rabbi sanno kaa ay do koyne ka ne:
2Son of man, speak to the children of your people, and tell them, When I bring the sword on a land, and the people of the land take a man from among them, and set him for their watchman;
2 Boro izo, ma salaŋ ni borey se ka ne: Hala day ay na takuba candi ka kande laabu fo gaa, laabo din borey mo ga boro fo suuban ngey game ra, i ga bora din daŋ a ma ciya ngey se batuko.
3if, when he sees the sword come on the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people;
3 Nga mo, d'a di takuba goono ga ba ka kaa laabo din gaa, a ma hilli kar ka borey kaa baaru.
4then whoever hears the sound of the trumpet, and doesn’t take warning, if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be on his own head.
4 To, boro kulu kaŋ maa hillo hẽeno, a na saalay kaa mo, da takuba kaa ka bora din ŋwa, kal a kuri alhakko ma goro nga bumbo din boŋ.
5He heard the sound of the trumpet, and didn’t take warning; his blood shall be on him; whereas if he had taken warning, he would have delivered his soul.
5 Zama a maa hillo hẽeno, a na saalay kaa ka muray. A kuro alhakko go a boŋ, zama nd'a na bayrandiyaŋo saal, doŋ a ga du ka yana nda nga fundo.
6But if the watchman sees the sword come, and doesn’t blow the trumpet, and the people aren’t warned, and the sword comes, and take any person from among them; he is taken away in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.
6 Amma hala day batukwa di takuba goono ga kaa, a mana hilli kar mo, jama mo mana du baaru, kala takuba kaa ka boro fo ŋwa i ra -- boro woodin, a taalo ra no i n'a wi, amma ay g'a kuro alhakko ceeci batukwa gaa.
7So you, son of man, I have set you a watchman to the house of Israel; therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me.
7 Yaadin cine no ni go, nin, boro izo: ay na ni daŋ ma ciya batuko Israyla dumo se. Woodin sabbay se no, ni ma maa sanni kaŋ ay meyo ga ci ka kaseeti i gaa ay se.
8When I tell the wicked, O wicked man, you shall surely die, and you don’t speak to warn the wicked from his way; that wicked man shall die in his iniquity, but his blood will I require at your hand.
8 D'ay ne boro laalo se: Ya nin boro laalo, daahir no ni ga bu -- ni mo, ni mana salaŋ zama ni ma boro laala din kaseeti hala a ma nga fonda naŋ, to, boro laala din ga bu nga taalo ra. Amma ay g'a kuro alhakko hã ni gaa.
9Nevertheless, if you warn the wicked of his way to turn from it, and he doesn’t turn from his way; he shall die in his iniquity, but you have delivered your soul.
9 Amma, hala day ni na boro laala kaseeti zama a ma fay da nga fonda, nga mo, a mana bare ka nga fonda naŋ, kulu a ga bu nga taalo ra, amma nin wo, ni na ni fundo kaa kambe.
10You, son of man, tell the house of Israel: Thus you speak, saying, Our transgressions and our sins are on us, and we pine away in them; how then can we live?
Iri go ga ban mo i sabbay se. Mate no iri ga te ka faaba nd'a binde?»
11Tell them, As I live, says the Lord Yahweh, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn, turn from your evil ways; for why will you die, house of Israel?
12You, son of man, tell the children of your people, The righteousness of the righteous shall not deliver him in the day of his disobedience; and as for the wickedness of the wicked, he shall not fall thereby in the day that he turns from his wickedness; neither shall he who is righteous be able to live thereby in the day that he sins.
13When I tell the righteous, that he shall surely live; if he trust to his righteousness, and commit iniquity, none of his righteous deeds shall be remembered; but in his iniquity that he has committed, therein shall he die.
13 D'ay ne adilante se kaŋ daahir a ga funa, da nga mo de nga boŋ adilitara gaa hal a na taali te mo, i si fongu a adilitaray goyey kulu kaŋ a te gaa, amma a taalo kaŋ a te din se no a ga bu.
14Again, when I say to the wicked, You shall surely die; if he turn from his sin, and do that which is lawful and right;
14 Hala hõ mo koyne, d'ay ne boro laalo se kaŋ daahir a ga bu -- nga mo, d'a bare ka fay da nga zunubo, a na haŋ kaŋ ga saba da haŋ kaŋ ga halal te mo,
15if the wicked restore the pledge, give again that which he had taken by robbery, walk in the statutes of life, committing no iniquity; he shall surely live, he shall not die.
15 sanda nga din, ilaala, d'a na tolme yeti nga koyo se, a na haŋ kaŋ nga kom mo yeti koyne, a na hin sanney kaŋ ga kande fundi gana, a mana zunubi fo te -- daahir a ga funa no, a si bu bo.
16None of his sins that he has committed shall be remembered against him: he has done that which is lawful and right; he shall surely live.
16 A zunubey kaŋ a te din, i si baa afolloŋ gaay a boŋ koyne, za kaŋ a na haŋ kaŋ ga saba nda haŋ kaŋ ga halal te. Daahir no a ga funa.
17Yet the children of your people say, The way of the Lord is not equal: but as for them, their way is not equal.
17 Kulu nda yaadin, ni borey goono ga ne: «Koy Beero fonda no si saba,» amma ngey din, i fondey day no si saba.
18When the righteous turns from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, he shall even die therein.
19When the wicked turns from his wickedness, and does that which is lawful and right, he shall live thereby.
19 Wala mo, da boro laalo no ka bare ka fay da nga laalayaŋo, a go mo, a ga haŋ kaŋ ga saba nda haŋ kaŋ ga halal te, woodin sabbay se no nga mo ga funa.
20Yet you say, The way of the Lord is not equal. House of Israel, I will judge every one of you after his ways.
20 Amma araŋ ne: «Koy Beero fonda no si saba.» Ya araŋ Israyla dumo, araŋ afo kulu, bora fonda boŋ no ay ga ciiti a se.
21It happened in the twelfth year of our captivity, in the tenth month, in the fifth day of the month, that one who had escaped out of Jerusalem came to me, saying, The city has been struck.
21 Iri tamtara jiiri way cindi hinkanta, a handu wayanta, jirbi guwanta hane, kala boro fo kaŋ du ka yana Urusalima ra kaa ay do ka ne: «I na gallo ŋwa!»
22Now the hand of Yahweh had been on me in the evening, before he who was escaped came; and he had opened my mouth, until he came to me in the morning; and my mouth was opened, and I was no more mute.
23The word of Yahweh came to me, saying,
24Son of man, they who inhabit those waste places in the land of Israel speak, saying, Abraham was one, and he inherited the land: but we are many; the land is given us for inheritance.
24 Boro izo, ngey kaŋ goono ga goro nangu kurmey wo ra Israyla laabo ra, i goono ga ne: «Ibrahim ya boro folloŋ no, a na laabo kulu tubu mo. Amma iri wo, iri ga baa gumo. Rabbi na iri no laabo, iri tubu hari no.»
25Therefore tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: You eat with the blood, and lift up your eyes to your idols, and shed blood: and shall you possess the land?
25 Ni binde ma ne i se: Yaa no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci: Araŋ ga ham ŋwa nda nga kuro, araŋ goono g'araŋ toorey guna ka kuri mun. Yaadin gaa, araŋ ga laabo ŋwa no, wala?
26You stand on your sword, you work abomination, and every one of you defiles his neighbor’s wife: and shall you possess the land?
26 Araŋ kaŋ goono ga naanay araŋ takubey gaa, ya araŋ fanta hari teekoy, araŋ kulu kaŋ g'araŋ gorokasin wande sara, araŋ no ga laabo ŋwa, wala?
27You shall tell them, Thus says the Lord Yahweh: As I live, surely those who are in the waste places shall fall by the sword; and him who is in the open field will I give to the animals to be devoured; and those who are in the strongholds and in the caves shall die of the pestilence.
27 Haŋ kaŋ ni ga ci i se neeya: Rabbi, Koy Beero ne: Ay ze d'ay fundo, haciika baa borey kaŋ go nangu kurmey din ra, ngey mo takuba g'i zeeri. Borey kaŋ go saajo batama ra mo, ay g'i nooyandi ganji hamey se i m'i ŋwa ka ban. Borey kaŋ go wongu fuwey da tondi guusey ra, ngey mo balaaw g'i wi.
28I will make the land a desolation and an astonishment; and the pride of her power shall cease; and the mountains of Israel shall be desolate, so that none shall pass through.
28 Ay ga laabo ciya kurmu koonu mo. A hino boŋbeera ga ban. Israyla tondi kuukey mo ga ciya kurmu, boro kulu si gana i ra.
29Then shall they know that I am Yahweh, when I have made the land a desolation and an astonishment, because of all their abominations which they have committed.
29 Waato din gaa no i ga bay kaŋ ay no ga ti Rabbi, waato kaŋ ay na laabo ciya kurmu koonu, fanta harey kulu kaŋ i te din sabbay se.
30As for you, son of man, the children of your people talk of you by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, everyone to his brother, saying, Please come and hear what is the word that comes forth from Yahweh.
30 Ni bumbo mo, boro izo, ni sanni: ni borey goono ga ni sanni te birni cinaro do haray da windi meyey gaa mo. I goono ga salaŋ ngey nda care se, boro fo kulu nda nga nya-ize ka ne: «Ay g'araŋ ŋwaaray no, wa kaa ka maa sanni kaŋ fun Rabbi do.»
31They come to you as the people come, and they sit before you as my people, and they hear your words, but don’t do them; for with their mouth they show much love, but their heart goes after their gain.
31 I ga kaa ni do sanda mate kaŋ i doona ka te. I ga goro ni jine danga ngey ciya ay boroyaŋ no. I go ga maa ni sanney, amma i si i goyo te. Zama i meyey ra no i ga baakasinay boobo cabe, amma i biney go i duura do haray.
32Behold, you are to them as a very lovely song of one who has a pleasant voice, and can play well on an instrument; for they hear your words, but they don’t do them.
32 A go mo, nin wo Ezeciyel, baakasinay doonko no ni ga hima i se, boro kaŋ gonda farhã kaano jinde, kaŋ ga waani foori hari karyaŋ gumo. Zama i go ga maa ni sanney, amma i si i goyo te.
33When this comes to pass, (behold, it comes), then shall they know that a prophet has been among them.
33 Da woodin te -- a go mo, a ga ba ka sintin -- waato din gaa no i ga bay kaŋ annabi goro ngey do waato.
