17

1When Abram was ninety-nine years old, Yahweh appeared to Abram, and said to him, “I am God Almighty. Walk before me, and be blameless.
1 Waato kaŋ Abram to jiiri wayga cindi yagga, Rabbi bangay Abram se. A ne: «Ay no ga ti Irikoy, Hina-Kulu-Koyo. Ni ma dira ay jine ka ciya toonante.
2I will make my covenant between me and you, and will multiply you exceedingly.”
2 Ay mo, ay g'ay alkawlo daŋ in da nin game ra, ay ga ni tonton gumo mo.»
3Abram fell on his face. God talked with him, saying,
3 Abram ye ganda ka ganda biri. Irikoy salaŋ a se koyne ka ne:
4“As for me, behold, my covenant is with you. You will be the father of a multitude of nations.
4 «Ay ya day, ay alkawlo go ni banda. Ni ga te kunda boobo se baaba.
5Neither will your name any more be called Abram, but your name will be Abraham; for I have made you the father of a multitude of nations.
5 I si ye ka ne ni se Abram koyne, amma ni maa ga ti Ibrahim, zama ay na ni daŋ ni ma ciya dumi boobo se baaba.
6I will make you exceedingly fruitful, and I will make nations of you. Kings will come out of you.
6 Ay ga naŋ ni ma ize boobo hay. Guna, ay ga kundayaŋ kaa ni gaa, bonkooniyaŋ mo ga fun ni gaa.
7I will establish my covenant between me and you and your seed after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God to you and to your seed after you.
7 Ay g'ay alkawlo tabbatandi in da nin game ra, da ni banda mo se i zamaney kulu ra; alkawli no kaŋ ga duumi. Ay ga ciya ni Irikoyo, da ni banda wane mo.
8I will give to you, and to your seed after you, the land where you are traveling, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession. I will be their God.”
8 Nin da ni banda, ay g'araŋ no laabo wo kaŋ ra ni goono ga yawtaray goray te, kaŋ ga ti Kanaana laabo kulu. A ma ciya araŋ wane hal abada, ay ma ciya i Irikoyo mo.»
9God said to Abraham, “As for you, you will keep my covenant, you and your seed after you throughout their generations.
9 Irikoy ne Ibrahim se koyne: «Ni ya day, ni m'ay alkawlo gaay, nin da ni banda hal i zamaney kulu ra.
10This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your seed after you. Every male among you shall be circumcised.
10 Ay sappa kaŋ go in da nin da ni banda game ra, kaŋ araŋ ga gaay, nga neeya: i g'araŋ alboro kulu dambangu.
11You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskin. It will be a token of the covenant between me and you.
11 Araŋ m'araŋ jofolo kuurey dumbu, a ma ciya sappa kaŋ go in d'araŋ game ra din seeda.
12He who is eight days old will be circumcised among you, every male throughout your generations, he who is born in the house, or bought with money from any foreigner who is not of your seed.
12 Araŋ alborayze kulu kaŋ to jirbi ahakku nda hayyaŋ, i g'a dambangu, ka koy hal araŋ zamaney me, da boro kaŋ i hay ni windo ra no, wala boro kaŋ i day da nooru yawey gaa, kaŋ manti ni dumi no.
13He who is born in your house, and he who is bought with your money, must be circumcised. My covenant will be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
13 Alboro kulu kaŋ i hay ni windo ra, da wo kaŋ i day da ni nooro, tilas kal i m'a dambangu. Ay sappa ga bara araŋ gaahamey gaa; sappa kaŋ ga duumi no.
14The uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that soul shall be cut off from his people. He has broken my covenant.”
14 Alboro kulu mo kaŋ i mana dambangu nga jofolo kuuro gaa, fundi woodin i m'a waasu ka kaa nga jama ra. A murte ay sappa gaa nooya.»
15God said to Abraham, “As for Sarai your wife, you shall not call her name Sarai, but her name will be Sarah.
15 Irikoy ne Ibrahim se koyne: «Ni wande Saray ciine ra mo: ni si ye ka ne a se Saray koyne, amma a maa ga ciya Saharatu.
16I will bless her, and moreover I will give you a son by her. Yes, I will bless her, and she will be a mother of nations. Kings of peoples will come from her.”

17Then Abraham fell on his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, “Will a child be born to him who is one hundred years old? Will Sarah, who is ninety years old, give birth?”
17 Saaya din Ibrahim kaŋ ka ganda biri. A haaru nga bina ra ka ne: «I ga izeyaŋ hay jiiri zangu ize gaa no? Saharatu binde, a go, jiiri wayga ize, nga mo ga hay?»
18Abraham said to God, “Oh that Ishmael might live before you!”
18 Ibrahim binde ne Irikoy se: «Da ni yadda, ma naŋ Isumeyla ma funa ni jine.»
19God said, “No, but Sarah, your wife, will bear you a son. You shall call his name Isaac. I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant for his seed after him.
19 Irikoy ne: «Abada! Ni wando Saharatu no ga ize alboro hay ni se. Nga mo, ni g'a maa daŋ Isaka. Ay g'ay alkawlo tabbatandi a do, a ma ciya a se alkawli kaŋ ga duumi, d'a banda mo se.
20As for Ishmael, I have heard you. Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly. He will become the father of twelve princes, and I will make him a great nation.

21But my covenant I establish with Isaac, whom Sarah will bear to you at this set time next year.”

22When he finished talking with him, God went up from Abraham.

23Abraham took Ishmael his son, all who were born in his house, and all who were bought with his money; every male among the men of Abraham’s house, and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the same day, as God had said to him.

24Abraham was ninety-nine years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
24 Ibrahim mo gonda jiiri wayga cindi yagga waato kaŋ i n'a dambangu nga jofolo kuuro gaa.
25Ishmael, his son, was thirteen years old when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
25 A izo Isumeyla mo gonda jiiri way cindi hinza waato kaŋ i n'a dambangu nga jofolo kuuro gaa.
26In the same day both Abraham and Ishmael, his son, were circumcised.
26 Zaaro din ra no i na Ibrahim da nga izo Isumeyla mo dambangu.
27All the men of his house, those born in the house, and those bought with money of a foreigner, were circumcised with him.
27 A windo alborey kulu mo, ngey kaŋ i hay a se da ngey kaŋ i day da nooru yawey gaa, i n'i kulu dambangu a banda.
