Jeremiah

6

1“Flee for safety, you children of Benjamin, out of the midst of Jerusalem, and blow the trumpet in Tekoa, and raise up a signal on Beth Haccherem; for evil looks forth from the north, and a great destruction.
1 Ya araŋ Benyamin izey, Wa zuru ka fun ka yana Urusalima bindo ra. Wa hilli kar Tekowa ra. Wa liiliwal tunandi Bayt-Hakerem boŋ, Zama laala goono ga niigaw ka fun azawa kambe haray, Kaŋ ga ti halaciyaŋ bambata.
2The comely and delicate one, the daughter of Zion, will I cut off.
2 Ize kwaaso hanna din kaŋ ga ti Sihiyona* ize wayo, Ay g'a halaci.
3Shepherds with their flocks shall come to her; they shall pitch their tents against her all around; they shall feed everyone in his place.”
3 Hawjiyey da ngey alman kurey ga kaa a do. I ga ngey bukkey sinji ka gaaba nd'a k'a windi. I afo kulu mo ga kuru nga nango ra.
4“Prepare war against her; arise, and let us go up at noon. Woe to us! For the day declines, for the shadows of the evening are stretched out.
4 I ga ne: «Wa wangu soola a se. Wa tun, iri ma kaaru nda wayna to zaari bindi. Kaari iri, zama wayna go ga siiri, Zama wiciri kambu biyo ga ku!
5Arise, and let us go up by night, and let us destroy her palaces.”
5 Wa tun, iri ma kaaru cin haray ka Urusalima faadey halaci.»
6For Yahweh of Armies said, “Cut down trees, and cast up a mound against Jerusalem: this is the city to be visited; she is wholly oppression in the midst of her.
6 Zama yaa no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci: W'a tuuri-nyaŋey beeri-beeri ka te guyaŋ kaŋ i ga Urusalima wongu nd'a. Gallu nooya kaŋ i ga ba ka gooji. kankami go a ra nangu kulu.
7As a well casts forth its waters, so she casts forth her wickedness: violence and destruction is heard in her; before me continually is sickness and wounds.
7 Sanda mate kaŋ cine day ga nga haro zaba, Yaadin cine no gallo wo ga nga laala zaba. Boro go ga maa toonye nda halaciyaŋ a ra. Waati kulu ay jine doori nda marayyaŋ go no.
8Be instructed, Jerusalem, lest my soul be alienated from you; lest I make you a desolation, a land not inhabited.”
9Thus says Yahweh of Armies, “They shall thoroughly glean the remnant of Israel like a vine. Turn again your hand as a grape gatherer into the baskets.”
9 Yaa no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci: Ibarey ga Israyla jara kaŋ cindi din mo koobu, Sanda reyzin* tikse cine. Ni kamba ma ye k'a koobu sanda mate kaŋ cine reyzin kosuko ga te da kambey kulu.
10To whom shall I speak and testify, that they may hear? Behold, their ear is uncircumcised, and they can’t listen. Behold, the word of Yahweh has become a reproach to them. They have no delight in it.
10 May yaŋ se no ay ga salaŋ, ay ma kaseeti hal i ma maa? A go, i hangey sinda dambanguyaŋ no hal i si hin ka hangan. A go mo Rabbi sanno ciya foyko i se, I si maa a kaani baa kayna.
11Therefore I am full of the wrath of Yahweh. I am weary with holding in. “Pour it out on the children in the street, and on the assembly of young men together; for even the husband with the wife shall be taken, the aged with him who is full of days.
11 Woodin sabbay se no ay to da Rabbi futa. Ay farga nd'ay m'a gaay. Ma futay gusam zankey boŋ kwaara fondey gaa da gaabikooney jama boŋ mo fap! folloŋ. Zama baa kurnye nda wande, I g'i sambu care banda, Da arkusey da dottijey care banda.
12Their houses shall be turned to others, their fields and their wives together; for I will stretch out my hand on the inhabitants of the land, says Yahweh.”
12 I windey ga bare ka ciya boro fooyaŋ wane, D'i farey d'i wandey mo care banda, Zama ay g'ay kamba salle ka gaaba nda laabo gorokoy. Yaadin no Rabbi ci.
13“For from their least even to their greatest, everyone is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even to the priest, everyone deals falsely.
13 Zama za i boro kayney ka koy i boro beerey, I kulu gonda anniya riiba ganayaŋ se. Za i annabey ka koy i alfagey gaa mo, I afo kulu goono ga tangari goy te.
14They have healed also the hurt of my people superficially, saying, ‘Peace, peace!’ when there is no peace.
14 I n'ay borey biyo safar beene-beene hinne. I goono ga ne: «Baani samay, baani samay!» Kaŋ mo baani kulu si no.
15Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? No, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; at the time that I visit them, they shall be cast down,” says Yahweh.
15 I haaw no i fanta hari goyey kaŋ i te se? Abada, baa kayna, i mana haaw. I moydumey mo mana baa alhaali barmay. Woodin sabbay se binde, Borey kaŋ yaŋ ga kaŋ din ra no i ga kaŋ. Waati kaŋ ay g'i taabandi no ay g'i zeeri ganda. Yaadin no Rabbi ci.
16Thus says Yahweh, “Stand in the ways and see, and ask for the old paths, ‘Where is the good way?’ and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
16 Yaa no Rabbi ci: Wa kay fonda boŋ ka guna ka doŋ fondey hã, naŋ kaŋ no fondo hanno go, Araŋ m'a gana mo. Amma i ne: «Abada! Iri wo s'a gana bo.»
17I set watchmen over you, saying, ‘Listen to the sound of the trumpet!’ But they said, ‘We will not listen!’
18Therefore hear, you nations, and know, congregation, what is among them.
19Hear, earth! Behold, I will bring evil on this people, even the fruit of their thoughts, because they have not listened to my words; and as for my law, they have rejected it.
19 Ya nin ndunnya, ma maa, A go, ay ga masiiba candi ka kande jama wo boŋ, I fonguyaŋey nafa nooya, Za kaŋ i mana hanga jeeri ka maa ay sanno se. Ay asariya mo, i n'a furu.
20To what purpose comes there to me frankincense from Sheba, and the sweet cane from a far country? your burnt offerings are not acceptable, nor your sacrifices pleasing to me.”
20 Miila woofo boŋ no i goono ga kande lubban ka fun d'a ay se Seba, da arce kaano mo ka fun d'a laabu mooro? Araŋ sargayey kaŋ i ga ton, Manti haŋ kaŋ ay ga ta no. Araŋ sargayey mana kaan ay se mo.
21Therefore thus says Yahweh, “Behold, I will lay stumbling blocks before this people. The fathers and the sons together shall stumble against them. The neighbor and his friend shall perish.”
21 Woodin sabbay se mo, yaa no Rabbi ci: A go, ay ga katiyaŋ hari daŋ jama wo jine, Za baabey za zankey, i kulu no ga kati a gaa care banda, Gorokasin nda nga cora ga halaci mo.
22Thus says Yahweh, “Behold, a people comes from the north country. A great nation shall be stirred up from the uttermost parts of the earth.
22 Yaa no Rabbi ci: A go, ndunnya dumi fo ga kaa ka fun azawa kambe laabo ra. Ay ga ndunnya dumi bambata fo tunandi a ma fun ndunnya nangu moorey ra.
23They take hold of bow and spear. They are cruel, and have no mercy. Their voice roars like the sea, and they ride on horses, everyone set in array, as a man to the battle, against you, daughter of Zion.”
23 I ga biraw da yaaji gaay. Bine-bi-koyyaŋ no, i si bakar. I jinde ga te kosongu sanda teeku cine. I goono ga bariyaŋ kaaru, Afo kulu go soolante wongu daaga se, Sanda boro kaŋ goono ga ba ka furo wongu ra, A ma wongu nda nin, ya nin Sihiyona ize wayo.
24We have heard its report; our hands become feeble: anguish has taken hold of us, and pains as of a woman in labor.
24 Iri maa i baaru, iri kambey yay.
25Don’t go forth into the field, nor walk by the way; for the sword of the enemy and terror, are on every side.
26Daughter of my people, clothe yourself with sackcloth, and wallow in ashes! Mourn, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation; for the destroyer shall suddenly come on us.
27“I have made you a tester of metals and a fortress among my people; that you may know and try their way.
27 Nin, Irimiya, ay na ni ciya siiko da neesiko ay jama ra, Zama ni m'i muraadey bay k'i neesi mo.
28They are all grievous rebels, going about with slanders; they are brass and iron: they all of them deal corruptly.
28 I kulu hanga sando yaŋ da turante yaŋ no gumo.
29The bellows blow fiercely; the lead is consumed of the fire: in vain do they go on refining; for the wicked are not plucked away.
29 Hansekoy goono ga funsu nda korni. Bidila goono ga manne danjo ra. Yaamo no i goono ga hanse, Amma ziibo mana fay waani.
30Men will call them rejected silver, because Yahweh has rejected them.”
30 I ga ne i se nzarfu yaamo kaŋ boro kulu si ba, Zama Rabbi wang'ey.
