2The same came to him by night, and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do, unless God is with him.”
2 Bora din kaa Yesu do cino ra ka ne a se: «Alfa, iri bay kaŋ ni ya alfa no kaŋ fun Irikoy do, zama boro kulu si no kaŋ ga hin ka alaamey wo te kaŋ ni goono ga te da manti Irikoy no go bora banda.»
3Jesus answered him, “Most certainly, I tell you, unless one is born anew, The word translated “anew” here and in John 3:7 (anothen) also means “again” and “from above”. he can’t see the Kingdom of God.”
3 Yesu tu a se ka ne: «Haciika, haciika, ay ga ci ni se: d'i mana boro hay hayyaŋ taji, a si di Irikoy* koytara.»
4Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?”
4 Nikodimu ci a se ka ne: «Mate no i ga te ka boro kaŋ zeen hay? A ga hin ka ye nga nya gunda ra, i m'a hay koyne?»
5Jesus answered, “Most certainly I tell you, unless one is born of water and spirit, he can’t enter into the Kingdom of God!
5 Yesu tu ka ne a se: «Haciika, haciika ay ga ci ni se: d'i mana boro hay hari nda Biya _Hanno|_ do, bora si hin ka furo Irikoy koytara ra.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh. That which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
6 Haŋ kaŋ i hay gaaham gaa, gaaham no. Haŋ kaŋ i hay Biya* _Hanno|_ do, biya no.
7 Don’t marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born anew.’
7 Ma si dambara kaŋ ay ci ni se: tilas kal i m'araŋ hay hayyaŋ taji.
8 The wind The same Greek word (pneuma) means wind, breath, and spirit. blows where it wants to, and you hear its sound, but don’t know where it comes from and where it is going. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
8 Haw ga faaru ka koy naŋ kaŋ a ga ba. Ni ga maa a yooja, amma ni si bay naŋ kaŋ a fun wala naŋ kaŋ a goono ga koy. Yaadin no boro kulu kaŋ i hay Biya _Hanno|_ do go.»
9Nicodemus answered him, “How can these things be?”
9 Nikodimu tu a se ka ne: «Mate no woone ga te ka te?»
10Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel, and don’t understand these things?
10 Yesu tu a se ka ne: «Nin kaŋ ga ti Israyla* dondonandiko, ni si faham da hayey wo, wala?
11 Most certainly I tell you, we speak that which we know, and testify of that which we have seen, and you don’t receive our witness.
11 Haciika, haciika ay ga ci ni se: iri goono ga ci haŋ kaŋ iri ga bay, iri goono ga seeda mo da haŋ kaŋ iri di, amma araŋ mana iri seeda ta.
12 If I told you earthly things and you don’t believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
12 D'ay na ndunnya sanni ci araŋ se, araŋ man'a cimandi mo, mate no araŋ ga te ka cimandi d'ay ga beene sanni ci araŋ se?
13 No one has ascended into heaven, but he who descended out of heaven, the Son of Man, who is in heaven.
13 Boro kulu si no kaŋ kaaru ka koy beena ra, kala nga kaŋ zumbu ka fun beena ra, Boro Izo kaŋ go beena ra no.
14 As Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,

15 that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
15 zama boro kulu kaŋ g'a cimandi ma du fundi hal abada.
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
16 Zama Irikoy ga ba ndunnya hal a na nga Izo follonka no, zama boro kulu kaŋ g'a cimandi ma si halaci, amma a ma du fundi hal abada.
17 For God didn’t send his Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world should be saved through him.
17 Zama Irikoy na nga Izo donton ndunnya ra, manti zama a ma ndunnya ciiti bo, amma zama ndunnya ma du faaba a do.
18 He who believes in him is not judged. He who doesn’t believe has been judged already, because he has not believed in the name of the one and only Son of God.
18 Boro kaŋ g'a cimandi, Irikoy s'a ciiti, amma boro kaŋ man'a cimandi, Irikoy ban k'a ciiti, zama a mana Irikoy Ize follonka cimandi.
19 This is the judgment, that the light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light; for their works were evil.
19 Ciito mo neeya: annura kaa ndunnya ra, amma borey ga ba kuba ka bisa annura, zama i goyey ga laala.
20 For everyone who does evil hates the light, and doesn’t come to the light, lest his works would be exposed.
20 Zama boro kulu kaŋ ga goy laalo te goono ga konna annura no. A si kaa annura do, zama a goyey ma si bangay.
21 But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his works may be revealed, that they have been done in God.”
21 Amma boro kaŋ ga cimi goy te ga kaa annura do, zama a goyey ma bangay kaŋ Irikoy ra no a n'i te.»
22After these things, Jesus came with his disciples into the land of Judea. He stayed there with them, and baptized.
22 Woodin banda Yesu kaa Yahudiya laabo ra, nga nda nga talibey. Noodin a goro, nga nd'ey ka baptisma te.
23John also was baptizing in Enon near Salim, because there was much water there. They came, and were baptized.

24For John was not yet thrown into prison.
24 Zama i mana Yohanna daŋ kasu jina.
25There arose therefore a questioning on the part of John’s disciples with some Jews about purification.
25 Kakaw mo tun Yohanna talibey da Yahudance fo game ra, diina ra hananyaŋ boŋ.
26They came to John, and said to him, “Rabbi, he who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold, the same baptizes, and everyone is coming to him.”
26 I kaa Yohanna do ka ne a se: «Alfa, bora kaŋ go ni banda Urdun ya-haray jabo gaa kaŋ boŋ ni seeda, guna, bora din goono ga baptisma te, borey kulu goono ga koy a do mo.»
27John answered, “A man can receive nothing, unless it has been given him from heaven.
27 Yohanna tu ka ne: «Boro kulu si hin ka du hay kulu, kala nd'i n'a no nd'a a ma fun a se beena ra.
28You yourselves testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ but, ‘I have been sent before him.’
28 Araŋ bumbey ga te ay se seeda kaŋ ay ne ay wo manti Almasihu no, amma Irikoy n'ay donton a jine.
29He who has the bride is the bridegroom; but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice. This, my joy, therefore is made full.

30He must increase, but I must decrease.
30 Bora din, tilas kal a ma tonton, amma ay wo, tilas kal ay ma zabu.
31He who comes from above is above all. He who is from the earth belongs to the earth, and speaks of the earth. He who comes from heaven is above all.
31 Bora kaŋ fun beene bisa hay kulu. Bora kaŋ fun ndunnya gaa, ndunnya wane no, ndunnya wano boŋ mo no a ga salaŋ. Bora kaŋ kaa ka fun beena ra bisa hay kulu.
32What he has seen and heard, of that he testifies; and no one receives his witness.
32 Haŋ kaŋ a di da haŋ kaŋ a maa, woodin yaŋ no a goono ga seeda, amma boro kulu si yadda nd'a seeda.
33He who has received his witness has set his seal to this, that God is true.
33 Boro kaŋ n'a seeda ta, bora din tabbatandi kaŋ Irikoy ya cimikoy no.
34For he whom God has sent speaks the words of God; for God gives the Spirit without measure.
34 Zama bora kaŋ Irikoy donton, Irikoy sanno no a ga ci, zama Irikoy si ga Biya _Hanno|_ no a se da neesiyaŋ.
35The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into his hand.

36One who believes in the Son has eternal life, but one who disobeys The same word can be translated “disobeys” or “disbelieves” in this context. the Son won’t see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.”
36 Boro kaŋ ga Izo cimandi gonda fundi hal abada, amma boro kaŋ si Izo gana si du fundi, amma Irikoy futa go ga goro a boŋ.»
