Joshua

10

1Now it happened when Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;
1 A ciya mo, Adoni-Zedek, Urusalima* kwaara koyo maa baaru kaŋ Yasuwa na Ayi ŋwa, a n'a kulu halaci parkatak mo.
2that they were very afraid, because Gibeon was a great city, as one of the royal cities, and because it was greater than Ai, and all its men were mighty.
2 Waato kaŋ a maa, kala humburkumay n'i di gumo. Zama Jibeyon wo birni beeri no, danga koytaray wane, a beeri nda Ayi mo. A alborey kulu mo gaabikooniyaŋ no.
3Therefore Adoni-Zedek king of Jerusalem sent to Hoham king of Hebron, to Piram king of Jarmuth, to Japhia king of Lachish, and to Debir king of Eglon, saying,
4“Come up to me, and help me, and let us strike Gibeon; for it has made peace with Joshua and with the children of Israel.”
5Therefore the five kings of the Amorites, the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, the king of Eglon, gathered themselves together, and went up, they and all their armies, and encamped against Gibeon, and made war against it.
5 Amorancey koy guwa din binde, danga Urusalima koyo, da Hebron koyo, da Yarmut koyo, da Lacis koyo, da Eglon koyo nooya, i margu. I ziji ngey nda i kundey kulu. I na gata sinji Jibeyon se, zama ngey m'a wongu.
6The men of Gibeon sent to Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, “Don’t abandon your servants! Come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us; for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the hill country have gathered together against us.”
6 Jibeyon borey mo donton Yasuwa gaa. A go Jilgal gata do haray. I ne: «Ni ma si forgay ni bannyey do haray. Ma kaa iri do da waasi k'iri faaba, m'iri gaakasinay mo. Zama Amorancey koyey, tondey ra gorokoy, i margu iri boŋ.»
7So Joshua went up from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valor.
7 Yasuwa binde tun Jilgal, nga nda soojey da yaarukomey kulu nga banda.
8Yahweh said to Joshua, “Don’t fear them, for I have delivered them into your hands. Not a man of them will stand before you.”
9Joshua therefore came on them suddenly. He went up from Gilgal all night.
9 Yasuwa binde n'i jirsi ka kaŋ i boŋ, zama waato kaŋ a tun Jilgal a hanna ka dira no.
10Yahweh confused them before Israel, and he killed them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them by the way of the ascent of Beth Horon, and struck them to Azekah and to Makkedah.
10 Rabbi n'i taabandi mo Israyla jine. A n'i wi Jibeyon jarga, wiyaŋ bambata no. A n'i gaaray mo ka zijandi fonda kaŋ ga koy Bayt-Horon din gaa. A n'i kar kal a koy nd'ey Azeka, kala Makkeda mo.
11It happened, as they fled from before Israel, while they were at the descent of Beth Horon, that Yahweh cast down great stones from the sky on them to Azekah, and they died. There were more who died from the hailstones than who the children of Israel killed with the sword.
11 Waato kaŋ i goono ga zuru Israyla jine, za i go Bayt-Horon gangara gaa, kala Rabbi mo n'i catu nda tondi bambata yaŋ ka koy hala Azeka hal i bu mo. Borey kaŋ yaŋ gari tondi wi, i ga baa ka bisa borey kaŋ yaŋ Israyla izey wi da takuba.
12Then Joshua spoke to Yahweh in the day when Yahweh delivered up the Amorites before the children of Israel; and he said in the sight of Israel, “Sun, stand still on Gibeon! You, moon, stop in the valley of Aijalon!”
12 Saaya din no Yasuwa salaŋ Rabbi se, zaaro kaŋ ra Rabbi na Amorancey daŋ Israyla izey kambe ra. Israyla izey jine no a ne: «Nin, wayna, ni ma kay tak! Jibeyon boŋ. Hando, ni mo ma koy Ayyalon gooro ra.»
13The sun stood still, and the moon stayed, until the nation had avenged themselves of their enemies. Isn’t this written in the book of Jashar? The sun stayed in the midst of the sky, and didn’t hurry to go down about a whole day.
13 Wayna kay mo tak! Hando mo gay, hala waato kaŋ cine jama na fansa sambu ngey ibarey boŋ. Manti i na woodin hantum Yasar tira ra bo? Wayna kay mo beena bindo ra, a mana cahã da kaŋyaŋ mo zaari fo deedandi cine.
14There was no day like that before it or after it, that Yahweh listened to the voice of a man; for Yahweh fought for Israel.
14 Zaari fo mana bay ka te woodin cine ce fo za doŋ, wala a jine mo, hal i ma du ka ne Rabbi na Adam-ize sanno hangan, zama Rabbi no ka wongu Israyla se.
15Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to the camp to Gilgal.
15 Yasuwa binde ye Jilgal gata do haray, nga nda Israyla kulu a banda.
16These five kings fled, and hid themselves in the cave at Makkedah.
17Joshua was told, saying, “The five kings are found, hidden in the cave at Makkedah.”
17 I ci Yasuwa se ka ne: «I di koy guwa din. I goono ga tugu Makkeda tondi guusu fo ra.»
18Joshua said, “Roll large stones to the mouth of the cave, and set men by it to guard them;
18 Yasuwa ne: «Wa tondi beeri yaŋ gunguray guuso me gaa ka guuso daabu. Araŋ ma alboroyaŋ daŋ kaŋ g'i batu.
19but don’t stay. Pursue your enemies, and them from the rear. Don’t allow them to enter into their cities; for Yahweh your God has delivered them into your hand.”
19 Amma araŋ wo ma si kay bo. Wa araŋ ibarey gana k'i gaaray k'i banda waney kar. Wa si ta i ma furo ngey birney ra, zama Rabbi araŋ Irikoyo n'i daŋ araŋ kambey ra.»
20It happened, when Joshua and the children of Israel had finished killing them with a very great slaughter until they were consumed, and the remnant which remained of them had entered into the fortified cities,
20 A ciya mo, waato kaŋ Yasuwa nda Israyla izey te zaama i boŋ ka ban da zaamayaŋ bambata, hal i n'i alandaaba. Borey kaŋ yaŋ ga cindi i ra mo jin ka furo birney kaŋ gonda cinari kuuku yaŋ ra.
21that all the people returned to the camp to Joshua at Makkedah in peace. None moved his tongue against any of the children of Israel.
21 Waato din gaa no jama kulu ye ka kaa Yasuwa do i Makkeda gata ra baani samay. Boro kulu no mana baa me nyooti Israyla izey afo kulu boŋ.
22Then Joshua said, “Open the mouth of the cave, and bring those five kings out of the cave to me.”
22 Gaa no Yasuwa ne: «Wa tondi guuso me fiti ka koy guwa din kaa taray ay se, i ma fun guuso ra.»
23They did so, and brought those five kings out of the cave to him: the king of Jerusalem, the king of Hebron, the king of Jarmuth, the king of Lachish, and the king of Eglon.
24It happened, when they brought those kings out to Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said to the chiefs of the men of war who went with him, “Come near, put your feet on the necks of these kings.” They came near, and put their feet on their necks.
24 A ciya binde, saaya kaŋ cine i na koyey din kaa taray Yasuwa se, kala Yasuwa na Israyla alborey kulu ce. A salaŋ mo wongu jine borey kaŋ yaŋ koy a banda se ka ne: «Wa maan ka ce dake koyey jindey boŋ.» Kal i maan ka ngey ce dake i jindey boŋ.
25Joshua said to them, “Don’t be afraid, nor be dismayed. Be strong and courageous, for Yahweh will do this to all your enemies against whom you fight.”
Zama yaadin no Rabbi ga te araŋ ibarey kulu kaŋ araŋ ga wongu nd'ey se.»
26Afterward Joshua struck them, put them to death, and hanged them on five trees. They were hanging on the trees until the evening.
26 Kokor banda Yasuwa na koyey sarku k'i wi. A n'i sarku bundu gu gaa, i goro noodin mo kala wiciri kambo to.
27It happened at the time of the going down of the sun, that Joshua commanded, and they took them down off the trees, and cast them into the cave in which they had hidden themselves, and laid great stones on the mouth of the cave, which remain to this very day.
27 Wayna kaŋyaŋ waate mo Yasuwa lordi ka ne i m'i zumandi ka kaa bundey gaa. I n'i catu tondi guuso kaŋ ra i tugu din ra ka guuso me daabu nda tondi beeriyaŋ. I go noodin hala hõ.
28Joshua took Makkedah on that day, and struck it with the edge of the sword, with its king. He utterly destroyed them and all the souls who were in it. He left none remaining. He did to the king of Makkedah as he had done to the king of Jericho.
28 Zaari woodin ra no Yasuwa na Makkeda ŋwa. A n'a kar da takuba, nga nd'a koyo kulu. A n'i halaci parkatak, ngey nda fundikooni kulu kaŋ go noodin.
29Joshua passed from Makkedah, and all Israel with him, to Libnah, and fought against Libnah.
30Yahweh delivered it also, with its king, into the hand of Israel. He struck it with the edge of the sword, and all the souls who were in it. He left none remaining in it. He did to its king as he had done to the king of Jericho.
31Joshua passed from Libnah, and all Israel with him, to Lachish, and encamped against it, and fought against it.
31 Za Libna no Yasuwa gana ka bisa ka koy Lacis, nga nda Israyla kulu a banda. I na gata sinji k'a wongu.
32Yahweh delivered Lachish into the hand of Israel. He took it on the second day, and struck it with the edge of the sword, with all the souls who were in it, according to all that he had done to Libnah.
32 Rabbi na Lacis mo daŋ Israyla kambe ra. A n'a ŋwa zaari hinkanta hane. A n'a kar da takuba, nga nda fundikooni kulu kaŋ go a ra, danga mate kaŋ cine a te Libna se.
33Then Horam king of Gezer came up to help Lachish; and Joshua struck him and his people, until he had left him none remaining.
33 Waato din gaa no Horam, Gezer koyo, nga mo kaaru ka kande Lacis se gaakasinay. Yasuwa na nga mo kar, nga nda nga jama kulu. A mana boro kulu cindi a se.
34Joshua passed from Lachish, and all Israel with him, to Eglon; and they encamped against it fought against it.
34 Noodin Lacis, Yasuwa kaaru ka bisa kala Eglon, Israyla kulu go a banda. I na gata sinji ka wongu nd'a.
35They took it on that day, and struck it with the edge of the sword. He utterly destroyed all the souls who were in it that day, according to all that he had done to Lachish.
35 Han din hane i n'a ŋwa. I n'a kar da takuba. Fundikooni kulu kaŋ go a ra mo, Yasuwa n'i halaci zaari woodin ra, parkatak! danga mate kulu kaŋ cine a te Lacis se.
36Joshua went up from Eglon, and all Israel with him, to Hebron; and they fought against it.
37They took it, and struck it with the edge of the sword, with its king and all its cities, and all the souls who were in it. He left none remaining, according to all that he had done to Eglon; but he utterly destroyed it, and all the souls who were in it.
37 I n'a ŋwa mo, k'a kar da takuba, nga nd'a koyo, d'a birney kulu, da fundikooni kulu kaŋ go i ra. Amma a n'i kulu halaci parkatak! nga da fundikooni kulu kaŋ go a ra.
38Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to Debir, and fought against it.
38 Yasuwa bare, nga nda Israyla kulu a banda, ka zaa ka koy Debir k'a wongu.
39He took it, with its king and all its cities. They struck them with the edge of the sword, and utterly destroyed all the souls who were in it. He left none remaining. As he had done to Hebron, so he did to Debir, and to its king; as he had done also to Libnah, and to its king.
39 A n'a ŋwa, nga nd'a koyo kulu, d'a kwaarey kulu. I n'i kar da takuba. I na fundikooni kaŋ go i ra kulu halaci parkatak! A mana i cindi.
40So Joshua struck all the land, the hill country, and the South, and the lowland, and the slopes, and all their kings. He left none remaining, but he utterly destroyed all that breathed, as Yahweh, the God of Israel, commanded.
A mana i cindi, amma a n'i halaci parkatak! hay kulu kaŋ ga fulanzam da niine, danga mate kaŋ Rabbi Israyla Irikoyo n'a lordi nd'a.
41Joshua struck them from Kadesh Barnea even to Gaza, and all the country of Goshen, even to Gibeon.
41 Yasuwa n'i kar za Kades-Barneya kala Gaza, da Gosen laabo kulu, kal a ma koy Jibeyon.
42Joshua took all these kings and their land at one time, because Yahweh, the God of Israel, fought for Israel.
42 Diraw folloŋ ra no Yasuwa na laabey din da ngey koyey kulu ŋwa, zama Rabbi, Israyla Irikoyo, nga no goono ga wongu Israyla se.
43Joshua returned, and all Israel with him, to the camp to Gilgal.
