Lamentations

1

1How the city sits solitary, that was full of people! She has become as a widow, who was great among the nations! She who was a princess among the provinces has become tributary!
Nga kaŋ gonda beeray waato ndunnya dumey ra, Wayboro bonkooni no laabey ra, A ciya danga wayboro kaŋ kurnyo bu. A go ga doole goy te.
2She weeps bitterly in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks; among all her lovers she has none to comfort her: All her friends have dealt treacherously with her; they are become her enemies.
2 Hẽeni korno no a ga te cin haray, A mo mundey ga dooru a garbey gaa. A baakoy kulu ra sinda boro kaŋ ga kaa k'a kunfa. A corey kulu n'a amaana ŋwa. I ciya a se konnakoyaŋ.
3Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude; she dwells among the nations, she finds no rest: all her persecutors overtook her within the straits.
3 Yahuda koy yawtaray laabu fo, A di taabi nda tamtaray laalo. A go ga goro dumi cindey game ra, fulanzamay si. A kankamo ra a gaaraykoy kulu n'a to.
4The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn assembly; all her gates are desolate, her priests do sigh: her virgins are afflicted, and she herself is in bitterness.
4 Sihiyona* koyyaŋ fondey gonda bu baray. Boro kulu siino ga koy batey kaŋ i daŋ din do koyne. Boro kulu si no mo ga gana a birni meyey kulu ra. A alfagey go ga duray, I n'a wandiyey taabandi. Nga bumbo din mo gonda bine saray kaŋ ga fottu.
5Her adversaries are become the head, her enemies prosper; for Yahweh has afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her young children are gone into captivity before the adversary.
5 A ibarey du a boŋ mayray, A konnakoy mo go ga goro baani. Zama Rabbi n'a taabandi a taali boobey sabbay se. A zanka kayney mo koy tamtaray ibarey jine.
6From the daughter of Zion all her majesty is departed: her princes are become like harts that find no pasture, they are gone without strength before the pursuer.
6 Sihiyona ize wayo darza kulu daray a se. A boro beerey ciya sanda jeeriyaŋ kaŋ jaŋ kuray nangu. I go gaaraykwa jine ga zuru, gaabi si.
7Jerusalem remembers in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that were from the days of old: when her people fell into the hand of the adversary, and no one helped her, The adversaries saw her, they mocked at her desolations.
7 Urusalima* taabey d'a dira-ka-windiyaŋ jirbey ra, A fongu nga waato kaani maayaŋey kulu gaa. Waato kaŋ cine a borey kaŋ ibara kambe ra, gaako si no. Ibarey di a k'a hahaara a halaciyaŋo sabbay se.
8Jerusalem has grievously sinned; therefore she has become as an unclean thing; all who honored her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yes, she sighs, and turns backward.
Borey kaŋ g'a bay waato, ngey no ciya a dondakoy, Zama i di a gaa-koono. Oho, a go ga duray ka bare ka ye banda.
9Her filthiness was in her skirts; she didn’t remember her latter end; therefore is she come down wonderfully; she has no comforter: see, Yahweh, my affliction; for the enemy has magnified himself.
9 A kazaamatara goono ga naagu a bankaarayey gaa. A mana fongu nga kokora gaa. A kaŋyaŋo ya dambara hari no, A sinda bine gaabandiko mo.
10The adversary has spread out his hand on all her pleasant things: for she has seen that the nations are entered into her sanctuary, concerning whom you commanded that they should not enter into your assembly.
10 Ibara na nga kamba salle a kaani maayaŋ jiney kulu boŋ, A di dumi cindey go ga furo nangu hananta ra, Borey kaŋ ni lordi* ka ne i ma si furo ni marga ra.
11All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant things for food to refresh the soul: look, Yahweh, and see; for I am become abject.
11 A jama kulu goono ga duray, }waari no i goono ga ceeci. I jin ka ngey arzakey wi ka ŋwaari day ngey fundey baano se.
12Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look, and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which is brought on me, With which Yahweh has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
12 Ya araŋ kulu kaŋ go ga bisa, araŋ baa fo, wala? Wa guna ka di hal ay bine sara wo kaŋ i te ay se din dumi go no, Wa guna mate kaŋ cine Rabbi n'ay gurzugandi nd'a a futay korna hane.
13From on high has he sent fire into my bones, and it prevails against them; He has spread a net for my feet, he has turned me back: He has made me desolate and faint all the day.
13 A na danji taŋ a ma fun beene ka kaa ay biriyey ra, Danjo hin i gaabo mo. A na korfo hirrimi daaru ay cey diire se, A n'ay bare ka ye banda. A n'ay daŋ faaji ra, Hala zaari me-a-me ay go ga yangala.
14The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand; They are knit together, they have come up on my neck; he has made my strength to fail: The Lord has delivered me into their hands, against whom I am not able to stand.
14 A kamba no a n'ay taaley calo* haw d'a. I go ga care kubay ka kaaru ay jinda boŋ.
15The Lord has set at nothing all my mighty men in the midst of me; He has called a solemn assembly against me to crush my young men: The Lord has trodden as in a winepress the virgin daughter of Judah.
16For these things I weep; my eye, my eye runs down with water; Because the comforter who should refresh my soul is far from me: My children are desolate, because the enemy has prevailed.
16 Woodin yaŋ kulu se no ay goono ga hẽ. Ay mwa, ay mwa goono ga mundi dooru! Zama kunfako kaŋ g'ay yaamar k'ay fundo yayandi mooru ay. Ay izey go ngey hinne, zama konnakwa te zaama.
17Zion spreads forth her hands; there is none to comfort her; Yahweh has commanded concerning Jacob, that those who are around him should be his adversaries: Jerusalem is among them as an unclean thing.
17 Sihiyona na nga kambey salle, Day kunfako si no a se. Rabbi no ka lordi ka ne Yakuba ibarey m'a windi. Urusalima ciya kazaamataray hari i game ra.
18Yahweh is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: Please hear all you peoples, and see my sorrow: My virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.
18 Rabbi ya adilitaraykoy no, zama ay murte a lordo* gaa. Ya araŋ ndunnya dumey kulu, ay g'araŋ ŋwaaray, Araŋ ma maa, k'ay bine sara guna. Ay arwasey da wandiyey, i kulu koy tamtaray ra.
19I called for my lovers, but they deceived me: My priests and my elders gave up the spirit in the city, While they sought them food to refresh their souls.
19 Ay n'ay baakoy ce, amma i n'ay halli. Ay alfagey d'ay boro beerey na ngey fundey taŋ ka bu gallo ra, waato kaŋ i goono ga ŋwaari ceeci i fundey baano se.
20See, Yahweh; for I am in distress; my heart is troubled; My heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: Abroad the sword bereaves, at home there is as death.
20 Guna, ya Rabbi, zama ay go taabi ra. Ay bina goono ga dooru gumo. Ay bina goono ga manne ay ra. Zama ay na murteyaŋ te saray! Taray haray takuba go ga mursandi, Windo ra mo si hima kala buuyaŋ.
21They have heard that I sigh; there is none to comfort me; All my enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that you have done it: You will bring the day that you have proclaimed, and they shall be like me.
21 I maa baaru kaŋ ay goono ga bine jisi.
22Let all their wickedness come before you; Do to them, as you have done to me for all my transgressions: For my sighs are many, and my heart is faint.
22 Naŋ i laalayaŋo kulu ma bangay ni jine. Ma te i se mo sanda mate kaŋ cine ni te ay se ay taaley kulu sabbay se. Zama ay durayyaŋey baa gumo, Ay bine-gaabo ban.
