11

1The people were complaining in the ears of Yahweh. When Yahweh heard it, his anger was kindled; and Yahweh’s fire burnt among them, and consumed some of the outskirts of the camp.
Kala Rabbi danjo di i game ra, ka ŋwa gata caso gaa.
2The people cried to Moses; and Moses prayed to Yahweh, and the fire abated.
3The name of that place was called Taberah , because Yahweh’s fire burnt among them.
3 A na maa daŋ nango din gaa ka ne a se: Tabera, _kaŋ a feerijo ga ti tonyaŋ|_, zama noodin no Rabbi danjo di i game ra.
4The mixed multitude that was among them lusted exceedingly: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, “Who will give us flesh to eat?
4 Marga kaasumanta kaŋ go i banda sintin ka bini, hala Israyla izey ye ka hẽ ka ne: «May no g'iri no ham iri ma ŋwa?
5We remember the fish, which we ate in Egypt for nothing; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlic;
5 Iri go ga fongu nda hamisa kaŋ iri goro ka ŋwa Misira ra yaamo, da labtanda, nda kanay, da albasan kayna, nd'ibeero, da tafarnuwa.
6but now we have lost our appetite. There is nothing at all except this manna to look at.”
6 Amma sohõ iri biney go ga suugu. Hay kulu mana cindi kaŋ iri moy ga di kala day Manna* wo.»
7The manna was like coriander seed, and its appearance like the appearance of bdellium.
7 Manna din mo ga to haamo gure beeray gaa. A alhaalo mo go danga deeli cine.
8The people went around, gathered it, and ground it in mills, or beat it in mortars, and boiled it in pots, and made cakes of it. Its taste was like the taste of fresh oil.
8 Borey ga koy k'a kumna ka fufu nda tondiyaŋ, wala i m'a duru humburu ra, k'a hina kusuyaŋ ra. I g'a te maasa mo. A tabayaŋ mo ga hima ji taji.
9When the dew fell on the camp in the night, the manna fell on it.
9 Saaya kaŋ harandaŋ ga zumbu gata boŋ cin ra no, Maana mo ga zumbu a banda.
10Moses heard the people weeping throughout their families, every man at the door of his tent; and the anger of Yahweh was kindled greatly; and Moses was displeased.
10 Musa mo maa kaŋ borey goono ga hẽ i almayaaley kulu ra, i boro fo kulu nga kuuru fuwo meyo gaa. Kala Rabbi bine tun i se gumo-gumo. A mana kaan Musa se mo.
11Moses said to Yahweh, “Why have you treated with your servant so badly? Why haven’t I found favor in your sight, that you lay the burden of all this people on me?
12Have I conceived all this people? Have I brought them forth, that you should tell me, ‘Carry them in your bosom, as a nurse carries a nursing infant, to the land which you swore to their fathers?’
12 Ay no ka borey wo kulu gunde jare? Wala ay no k'i hay? Hala ni ma ne ay se: M'i sambu ni gande ra ka jare, mate kaŋ cine baaba ga zanka naanandi jare, hal i ma koy ka to laabo kaŋ ni ze d'a i kaayey se din ra.
13Where could I get meat to give to all this people? For they weep to me, saying, ‘Give us meat, that we may eat.’
13 Man gaa no ay ga du ham ay ma no borey wo kulu se? Zama i goono ga hẽ ay gaa ka ne: ‹M'iri no ham iri ma ŋwa!›
14I am not able to bear all this people alone, because it is too heavy for me.
15If you treat me this way, please kill me right now, if I have found favor in your sight; and don’t let me see my wretchedness.”
15 Da yaadin no ni ga te ay se, ay ga ni ŋwaaray m'ay wi me fo, d'ay du gaakuri ni jine.
16Yahweh said to Moses, “Gather to me seventy men of the elders of Israel, whom you know to be the elders of the people, and officers over them; and bring them to the Tent of Meeting, that they may stand there with you.
16 Kala Rabbi ne Musa se: «Ma boro wayye margu ay do, Israyla arkusuyaŋ, kaŋ yaŋ ni g'i bay arkusu beeri yaŋ no borey do, kaŋ i jine boroyaŋ no. Ma kand'ey kubayyaŋ hukumo do, i ma kay noodin ni banda.
17I will come down and talk with you there. I will take of the Spirit which is on you, and will put it on them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with you, that you not bear it yourself alone.
Ay ga sambu Biya kaŋ go ni boŋ din gaa, k'a dake i boŋ. Ngey mo ma borey jarawo jare ni banda, hala ni bumbo ma s'a jare, ni hinne.
18“Say to the people, ‘Sanctify yourselves against tomorrow, and you will eat flesh; for you have wept in the ears of Yahweh, saying, “Who will give us flesh to eat? For it was well with us in Egypt.” Therefore Yahweh will give you flesh, and you will eat.
18 Ma ne mo jama se: Wa araŋ boŋ fay waani hala suba, araŋ ga ham ŋwa mo. Zama araŋ hẽ Rabbi hangey ra ka ne: ‹May no g'iri no ham iri ma ŋwa? Zama iri goro baani Misira.› Woodin sabbay se no Rabbi g'araŋ no ham, araŋ g'a ŋwa mo.
19You will not eat one day, nor two days, nor five days, neither ten days, nor twenty days,
19 Manti zaari folloŋ no araŋ g'a ŋwa bo, wala jirbi hinka, wala jirbi gu, wala jirbi way, wala jirbi waranka.
20but a whole month, until it come out at your nostrils, and it is loathsome to you; because that you have rejected Yahweh who is among you, and have wept before him, saying, “Why did we come out of Egypt?”’”
Zama araŋ donda Rabbi kaŋ go araŋ game ra, ka hẽ a jine, ka ne: ‹Ifo se no iri fatta Misira?› »
21Moses said, “The people, among whom I am, are six hundred thousand men on foot; and you have said, ‘I will give them flesh, that they may eat a whole month.’
21 Kala Musa ne: «Borey kaŋ yaŋ game ra ay go, i ga to sooje zambar iddu hala sorro zangu. Ni mo ne ni g'i no ham i ma ŋwa handu fo kubante.
22Shall flocks and herds be slaughtered for them, to be sufficient for them? Shall all the fish of the sea be gathered together for them, to be sufficient for them?”
22 Mate no? I ma feeji kuru nda haw kuru yaŋ wi i se, hala a ma wasa i se? Wala i ma teeku ham kulu margu care banda, a ga wasa i se, wala?»
23Yahweh said to Moses, “Has Yahweh’s hand grown short? Now you will see whether my word will happen to you or not.”
23 Rabbi na Musa hã ka ne: «Rabbi kamba kuuyaŋo gaze no, wala? Day sohõ ni ga di hal ay sanno ga te ni do, wala a si te.»
24Moses went out, and told the people the words of Yahweh; and he gathered seventy men of the elders of the people, and set them around the Tent.
24 Musa mo fatta ka Rabbi sanney ci jama se, ka jama arkusu beeri wayya margu, k'i kayandi hukumo windanta.
25Yahweh came down in the cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the Spirit that was on him, and put it on the seventy elders: and it happened that when the Spirit rested on them, they prophesied, but they did so no more.
25 Rabbi mo zumbu buru yuuma ra, ka salaŋ a se. A sambu Biya kaŋ go Musa boŋ din gaa, k'a no arkusu wayya din se. A ciya mo, saaya kaŋ Biya zumbu i boŋ, i na annabitaray te, amma sorro folloŋ no.
26But two men remained in the camp. The name of one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad: and the Spirit rested on them; and they were of those who were written, but had not gone out to the Tent; and they prophesied in the camp.
26 Amma i boro wayya din ra, boro hinka goro gata ra. Afo maa Eldad, afa mo maa Medad. I go hantumantey ra, amma i mana fatta ka koy hukumo do. Biya din zumbu i boŋ hal i na annabitaray te gata ra.
27A young man ran, and told Moses, and said, “Eldad and Medad are prophesying in the camp!”
28Joshua the son of Nun, the servant of Moses, one of his chosen men, answered, “My lord Moses, forbid them!”
28 Nun ize Yasuwa, (Musa saajawkwa nooya za a go zanka) a tu ka ne: «Ay jine bora Musa, m'i gaay!»
29Moses said to him, “Are you jealous for my sake? I wish that all Yahweh’s people were prophets, that Yahweh would put his Spirit on them!”
Doŋ day Rabbi jama kulu ma ciya annabiyaŋ*. Rabbi ma nga Biya zumandi i boŋ!»
30Moses went into the camp, he and the elders of Israel.
31A wind from Yahweh went out and brought quails from the sea, and let them fall by the camp, about a day’s journey on this side, and a day’s journey on the other side, around the camp, and about two cubits above the surface of the earth.
31 Woodin banda, haw fo fun Rabbi do ka faaru. A kande darfandayaŋ kaŋ fun teeko do haray, k'i taŋ gata boŋ, sanda zaari fo diraw ne-haray, ya-haray mo zaari fo diraw, gata casey gaa. I go laabo se beene sanda kambe kar hinka.
32The people rose up all that day, and all the night, and all the next day, and gathered the quails. He who gathered least gathered ten homers; and they spread them all abroad for themselves around the camp.
I na darfandayaŋ di. Bora kaŋ mana iboobo di, a koy du tono way cindi gu. I n'i yandi gata windanta kulu ngey boŋ se.
33While the flesh was yet between their teeth, before it was chewed, the anger of Yahweh was kindled against the people, and Yahweh struck the people with a very great plague.
33 Amma, waato kaŋ hamo go i hinjey game ra, za i man'a kaama jina, Rabbi dukur jama se.
34The name of that place was called Kibroth Hattaavah, because there they buried the people who lusted.
34 I na noodin maa daŋ Binikomey Saarayey, zama noodin no i na borey kaŋ yaŋ bini din fiji.
35From Kibroth Hattaavah the people traveled to Hazeroth; and they stayed at Hazeroth.
35 Jama dira za Binikomey Saarayey ka koy to Hazerot. I goro Hazerot ra.
