1I tell the truth in Christ. I am not lying, my conscience testifying with me in the Holy Spirit,
1 Cimi no ay goono ga ci Almasihu ra, manti taari no bo. Ay bine lasaabo mo goono ga seeda ay se Biya Hanno ra,
2that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart.
2 kaŋ ay gonda bine saray gumo, doori go ay bina ra mo waati kulu.
3For I could wish that I myself were accursed from Christ for my brothers’ sake, my relatives according to the flesh,
3 Zama doŋ ay ga yadda Irikoy m'ay laali k'ay fay da Almasihu ay nya-izey se, kaŋ yaŋ ga ti ay dumo, gaaham wane.
4who are Israelites; whose is the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service, and the promises;
4 Ngey ga ti Israyla borey, kaŋ Irikoy na izetaray no i se, da darza, da sappey. A n'i no Tawretu* tira mo, da Irikoy windo goyo, da alkawley.
5of whom are the fathers, and from whom is Christ as concerning the flesh, who is over all, God, blessed forever. Amen.
5 I waney mo ga ti kaayey kaŋ yaŋ Irikoy suuban. I game ra mo no Almasihu kaa gaaham ciine ra, nga kaŋ ga hay kulu may, Irikoy albarkakoy no hal abada. Amin!
6But it is not as though the word of God has come to nothing. For they are not all Israel, that are of Israel.
6 Amma manti sanda Irikoy Sanno ciya yaamo no bo. Zama manti borey kulu kaŋ fun Israyla* gaa no ga ti Israyla waneyaŋ bo.
7Neither, because they are Abraham’s seed, are they all children. But, “In Isaac will your seed be called.” Genesis 21:12
7 Manti mo borey kulu kaŋ ti Ibrahim bandayaŋ no ga ti izeyaŋ. Zama _Irikoy ne|_: «Isaka gaa no ni banda ga fun.»
8That is, it is not the children of the flesh who are children of God, but the children of the promise are counted as a seed.
8 Sanda, manti izey kaŋ i hay gaaham do no ga ti Irikoy izeyaŋ, amma day alkawlo izey no i ga lasaabu haamayaŋ.
9For this is a word of promise, “At the appointed time I will come, and Sarah will have a son.” Genesis 18:10,14
9 Zama woone no ga ti alkawlo sanno: «Yeesi alwaati woone cine ra no ay ga ye ka kaa, Saharatu mo ga ize aru hay.»
10Not only so, but Rebecca also conceived by one, by our father Isaac.
10 Manti yaadin hinne mo no, amma waato kaŋ Rabeka na gunde sambu boro follonka do kaŋ ga ti iri kaayo Isaka,
11For being not yet born, neither having done anything good or bad, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works, but of him who calls, NA puts the phrase “not of works, but of him who calls” at the beginning of verse 12 instead of the end of verse 11.
11 za izey mana hay, i mana hay kulu te mo, kaŋ ti ihanno wala ilaalo, waato din no Irikoy ci nyaŋo se, ka ne: «Ibeero no ga may ikayna se.» Irikoy na woodin ci hala nga suubanyaŋo kaŋ a ga te nga waado boŋ ma duumi, manti goyey do, amma nga kaŋ ga boro ce miila do.
12it was said to her, “The elder will serve the younger.” Genesis 25:23
13 Mate kaŋ i n'a hantum ka ne: «Ay ba Yakuba, amma ay konna Isuwa.»
13Even as it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” Malachi 1:2-3
14 Ifo binde no iri ga ne? Adilitaray-jaŋay go Irikoy do no? Abada!
14What shall we say then? Is there unrighteousness with God? May it never be!
15 Zama Irikoy ne Musa se: «Ay ga suuji cabe boro kaŋ ay ga suuji se. Ay ga bakar mo boro kaŋ se ay ga bakar.»
15For he said to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” Exodus 33:19
16 Yaadin gaa, manti boro kaŋ ga ba do no, wala manti boro kaŋ ga goy gumo do, amma day Irikoy kaŋ ga bakar do no.
16So then it is not of him who wills, nor of him who runs, but of God who has mercy.
17 Zama Irikoy Tira Hanna ne Firawna se: «Woone se no ay na ni no beeray: Hal ay m'ay dabaro cabe ni gaa. Zama mo i m'ay maa baaro fe ndunnya kulu ra.»
17For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I caused you to be raised up, that I might show in you my power, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” Exodus 9:16
18 Yaadin gaa Irikoy ga suuji cabe boro kaŋ se a ba. Boro kaŋ a ba mo a g'a bina sandandi.
18So then, he has mercy on whom he desires, and he hardens whom he desires.
19 Ni ga ne ay se binde: «Ifo se no a ga taali ceeci hala hõ? Zama may no ga hin ka kay ka gaaba nd'a miila?»
19You will say then to me, “Why does he still find fault? For who withstands his will?”
20 Abada, ya nin Adam-ize. Nin ga ti may, kaŋ ga kakaw da Irikoy? Haŋ kaŋ i taka ga ne nga takakwa se: «Ifo se no ni n'ay te ya-cine?»
20But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed ask him who formed it, “Why did you make me like this?” Isaiah 29:16; 45:9
21 Manti kusu cinako gonda dabari botogo boŋ, hal a ma kunkuni fo sambu, jare fo ra a ma kusu fo cina goy kaŋ gonda darza se. Jare fa mo, a ma afo cina kayna goy se?
21Or hasn’t the potter a right over the clay, from the same lump to make one part a vessel for honor, and another for dishonor?
22 To, ifo binde no iri ga ne, da Irikoy ga ba nga ma nga futa bangandi, ka naŋ borey ma bay nga dabaro gaa mo, amma a na suuru boobo cabe ka munye nda borey kaŋ yaŋ hima nda Irikoy futa, kaŋ yaŋ soola halaciyaŋ se mo.
22What if God, willing to show his wrath, and to make his power known, endured with much patience vessels of wrath made for destruction,
23 Ifo binde no iri ga ne koyne da Irikoy na woodin te zama a ga ba nga ma nga darza arzakanta bayrandi borey kaŋ yaŋ ga du suuji do, kaŋ yaŋ a soola i ma du darza,
23and that he might make known the riches of his glory on vessels of mercy, which he prepared beforehand for glory,
24 sanda iri nooya, kaŋ yaŋ a ce, manti Yahudancey* do hinne bo, amma dumi* cindey do mo.
24us, whom he also called, not from the Jews only, but also from the Gentiles?
25 Zama yaadin no Irikoy ne Hoseya tira ra: «Borey kaŋ yaŋ manti ay jama, ay ga ne i se ay jama. Bora kaŋ ay si ba mo, ay ga ne a se ay bine baakwa.»
25As he says also in Hosea, “I will call them ‘my people,’ which were not my people; and her ‘beloved,’ who was not beloved.” Hosea 2:23
26 A ga ciya mo, nangu kaŋ i ne i se: « ‹Araŋ wo manti ay jama no.› Noodin no i ga ne i se: ‹Irikoy fundikoono izeyaŋ.› »
26“It will be that in the place where it was said to them, ‘You are not my people,’ There they will be called ‘children of the living God.’” Hosea 1:10
27 Isaya mo go ga kuuwa Israyla* boŋ ka ne: «Baa kaŋ Israyla izey lasaabuyaŋ ga ciya danga teeku me gaa taasi cine, Jare kayna hinne day no ga du faaba.
27Isaiah cries concerning Israel, “If the number of the children of Israel are as the sand of the sea, it is the remnant who will be saved;
28 Zama Rabbi ga nga sanno kaŋ a ci toonandi da waasi ndunnya boŋ.»
28for He will finish the work and cut it short in righteousness, because the LORD will make a short work upon the earth.” Isaiah 10:22-23
29 Mate kaŋ Isaya jin ka ne mo: «Da manti kaŋ Rabbi Kundeykoyo na banda naŋ iri se, Doŋ iri ciya sanda Saduma* cine, Doŋ iri ga hima Gomorata* cine.»
29As Isaiah has said before, “Unless the Lord of Armies Greek: Sabaoth (for Hebrew: Tze’va’ot) had left us a seed, we would have become like Sodom, and would have been made like Gomorrah.” Isaiah 1:9
30 Ifo binde no iri ga ne? To, kal iri ma ne: Dumi cindey, kaŋ yaŋ mana _Irikoy jine|_ adilitara ceeci, du adilitaray, kaŋ ga ti wo kaŋ ga fun cimbeeri do.
30What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, who didn’t follow after righteousness, attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith;
31 Amma Israyla, kaŋ goono ga asariya* fo gana zama nga ma du _Irikoy jine|_ adilitaray, mana to a gaa.
31but Israel, following after a law of righteousness, didn’t arrive at the law of righteousness.
32 Ifo se no woodin te? To, zama i man'a ceeci cimbeeri* do, amma day goyey do. I kati no katiyaŋ tondo din gaa,
32Why? Because they didn’t seek it by faith, but as it were by works of the law. They stumbled over the stumbling stone;
33 mate kaŋ i n'a hantum ka ne: «Guna, ay go ga tondi sinji Sihiyona* ra, katiyaŋ tondi nda hartayaŋ daliili tondi daaru mo. Boro kaŋ g'a cimandi mo si haaw.»
33even as it is written, “Behold, I lay in Zion a stumbling stone and a rock of offense; and no one who believes in him will be disappointed.” Isaiah 8:14; 28:16
