1 Peter

2

1Putting away therefore all wickedness, all deceit, hypocrisies, envies, and all evil speaking,
1 Yaadin gaa, araŋ ma laala kulu, da gulinci kulu, da munaficitaray, da canse, da ciinay kulu naŋ.
1Putting away therefore all wickedness, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
2as newborn babies, long for the pure milk of the Word, that you may grow thereby,
2 Danga hay tajiyaŋ, araŋ ma ba sanno din wa hananta, zama a do no araŋ ga beeri ka koy jina faaba ra,
2as newborn babes, long for the spiritual milk which is without guile, that ye may grow thereby unto salvation;
3if indeed you have tasted that the Lord is gracious:
3 za kaŋ araŋ taba ka maa kaŋ Rabbi ya gomnikoy no.
3if ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious:
4coming to him, a living stone, rejected indeed by men, but chosen by God, precious.
4 Araŋ goono ga kaa Rabbi do kaŋ ga ti tondi fundikoono, nga kaŋ daahir borey wang'a, amma suubanante no, darzakoy mo no Irikoy do.
4unto whom coming, a living stone, rejected indeed of men, but with God elect, precious,
5You also, as living stones, are built up as a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
5 Araŋ mo, danga tondi fundikooniyaŋ no, Irikoy goono g'araŋ cina ka te fu, danga biya ra wane nooya, zama araŋ ma ciya alfaga* jama hanante. Zama araŋ ma sargayyaŋ* salle, kaŋ ga ti biya ra wane, kaŋ yaŋ Irikoy ga ta Yesu Almasihu maa ra.
5ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, to be a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.
6Because it is contained in Scripture, “Behold, I lay in Zion a chief cornerstone, chosen, and precious: He who believes in him will not be disappointed.”
6 Zama a go Irikoy Tira Hanna ra, kaŋ ne: «Guna, ay go ga tondi sinji Sihiyona* ra, cinaro bonjara no, suubanante, darzakoy. Boro kaŋ g'a cimandi mo si haaw.»
6Because it is contained in scripture, Behold, I lay in Zion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: And he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame.
7For you who believe therefore is the honor, but for those who are disobedient, “The stone which the builders rejected, has become the chief cornerstone,”
7 Yaadin gaa, araŋ kaŋ cimandi, araŋ se no a gonda darza. Amma borey kaŋ wangu ka cimandi: «Tondo kaŋ cinakoy wangu, nga no ciya cinaro boŋo.»
7For you therefore that believe is the preciousness: but for such as disbelieve, The stone which the builders rejected, The same was made the head of the corner;
8and, “a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense.” For they stumble at the word, being disobedient, to which also they were appointed.
8 Koyne i ne: «Katiyaŋ tondi nda hartayaŋ daliili tondi daari mo no.» I goono ga kati a gaa, zama i mana sanno gana, i n'i waadu mo no woodin gaa.
8and, A stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence; for they stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
9But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, that you may proclaim the excellence of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
9 Amma araŋ wo kunda suubanante no, Koy Beero alfagayaŋ, dumi hanante, Irikoy bumbo jama, zama araŋ ma borey kabarandi nd'a booro. Nga no k'araŋ ce araŋ ma fun kubay ra ka furo a kaari kaŋ ga dambarandi ra.
9But ye are a elect race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for [God's] own possession, that ye may show forth the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
10who in time past were no people, but now are God’s people, who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
10 Waato araŋ wo manti boro kulu jama no, amma sohõ araŋ ciya Irikoy jama. Waato araŋ mana du suuji, amma sohõ araŋ du suuji.
10who in time past were no people, but now are the people of God: who had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
11Beloved, I beg you as foreigners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul;
11 Ay baakoy, ay goono g'araŋ ŋwaaray, araŋ kaŋ go danga yawyaŋ kaŋ zumbu alwaati kayna ndunnya wo ra: araŋ ma si yadda bine ibaay laaley se, ngey kaŋ yaŋ ga kande fundi gaa wongu.
11Beloved, I beseech you as sojourners and pilgrims, to abstain from fleshly lust, which war against the soul;
12having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they see, glorify God in the day of visitation.
12 Wa bara nda goray hanno dumi cindey game ra, zama haŋ kaŋ ra i g'araŋ ciinay danga hari laalo teekoyaŋ, i ma di araŋ goy hanney ka Irikoy beerandi a kunfa zaaro ra.
12having your behavior seemly among the Gentiles; that, wherein they speak against you as evil-doers, they may by your good works, which they behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
13Therefore subject yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether to the king, as supreme;
13 W'araŋ boŋ ye ganda hin kulu kaŋ i daŋ Adam-ize game ra se Rabbi sabbay se, da bonkooni beeri no kaŋ go hay kulu boŋ,
13Be subject to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether to the king, as supreme;
14or to governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evildoers and for praise to those who do well.
14 wala mo dabarikoyey se, danga a dontonantey nooya, zama i ma goy laaley teekoy bana ka ihanno teekoy saabu.
14or unto governors, as sent by him for vengeance on evil-doers and for praise to them that do well.
15For this is the will of God, that by well-doing you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
15 Zama woone ga ti Irikoy miila: araŋ ma saamey jaŋ-ka-bayra sanney dangandi goy hanno teeyaŋ do.
15For so is the will of God, that by well-doing ye should put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:
16as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.
16 Wa araŋ goray te danga burciniyaŋ, amma araŋ ma si goy d'araŋ burcinitara ka laala daabu nd'a, amma wa goro danga Irikoy bannyayaŋ.
16as free, and not using your freedom for a cloak of wickedness, but as bondservants of God.
17Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
17 Araŋ ma boro kulu beerandi. Araŋ ma ba nya-izey. Wa humburu Irikoy. Wa laabo bonkoono beerandi.
17Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.
18Servants, be in subjection to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the wicked.
18 Araŋ mo, goy-izey, araŋ m'araŋ boŋ ye ganda araŋ windi koyey se humburkumay ra. W'a te, manti borey kaŋ yaŋ ga boori kaŋ yaŋ gonda bine baani mo hinne se bo, amma baa borey kaŋ yaŋ alhaali ga gaabu se.
18Servants, [be] in subjection to your masters with all fear; not only to the good and gentle, but also to the froward.
19For it is commendable if someone endures pain, suffering unjustly, because of conscience toward God.
19 Zama woodin yadda hari no, d'araŋ ga maa doori taabi se kaŋ araŋ mana to r'a bine lasaabu hanno kaŋ araŋ gonda Irikoy do haray sabbay se.
19For this is acceptable, if for conscience toward God a man endureth griefs, suffering wrongfully.
20For what glory is it if, when you sin, you patiently endure beating? But if, when you do well, you patiently endure suffering, this is commendable with God.
20 Zama man gaa saabuyaŋ go d'araŋ suuru nda kutuboyaŋ araŋ taali teeyaŋ se? Amma d'araŋ goono ga maa taabi ihanno teeyaŋ se ka suuru a ra mo, woodin ga ti yadda hari Irikoy do.
20For what glory is it, if, when ye sin, and are buffeted [for it], ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer [for it], ye shall take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
21For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,
21 Zama woodin se no Irikoy n'araŋ ce. Zama Almasihu mo maa taabi araŋ se. A na deedandiyaŋ hari naŋ araŋ se, zama araŋ ma nga ce tankey gana.
21For hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that ye should follow his steps:
22who did not sin, “neither was deceit found in his mouth.”
22 «Nga kaŋ mana zunubi kulu te, i mana maa gulinci sanni kulu ma fun a meyo ra mo.»
22who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
23Who, when he was cursed, didn’t curse back. When he suffered, didn’t threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously;
23 Nga kaŋ i n'a wow, a mana wow ka bana. Nga kaŋ i n'a taabandi, a mana kaseeti, amma a na nga boŋ talfi Irikoy gaa kaŋ ga cimi ciiti te.
23who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered threatened not; but committed [himself] to him that judgeth righteously:
24who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed.
24 Nga bumbo no k'iri zunubey sambu ka kond'ey nga gaahamo ra waato kaŋ i n'a sarku bundo gaa, zama iri ma bu zunubey se ka funa mo adilitaray se. Araŋ du baani mo Almasihu burbundey do.
24who his own self bare our sins in his body upon the tree, that we, having died unto sins, might live unto righteousness; by whose stripes ye were healed.
25For you were going astray like sheep; but now have returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.
25 Zama waato araŋ go danga feejiyaŋ kaŋ yaŋ goono ga dira darayyaŋ ra, amma sohõ araŋ ye Kurukwa d'araŋ fundey Batukwa do.
25For ye were going astray like sheep; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.
