1I exhort the elders among you, as a fellow elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and who will also share in the glory that will be revealed.
1The elders among you I exhort, who am a fellow-elder, and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, who am also a partaker of the glory that shall be revealed:
2Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not under compulsion, but voluntarily, not for dishonest gain, but willingly;
2 Araŋ ma Irikoy kuro kaŋ go araŋ kambe ra kuru.
2Tend the flock of God which is among you, exercising the oversight, not of constraint, but willingly, according to [the will of] God; nor yet for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
3neither as lording it over those entrusted to you, but making yourselves examples to the flock.
3neither as lording it over the charge allotted to you, but making yourselves ensamples to the flock.
4When the chief Shepherd is revealed, you will receive the crown of glory that doesn’t fade away.
4 Waati kaŋ Kuruko Beero ga bangay mo, araŋ ga du boŋtobay kaŋ gonda darza, kaŋ si halaci mo.
4And when the chief Shepherd shall be manifested, ye shall receive the crown of glory that fadeth not away.
5Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you clothe yourselves with humility, to subject yourselves to one another; for “God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” Proverbs 3:34
5 Yaadin no araŋ mo kaŋ ga ti arwasey, wa araŋ boŋ ye ganda arkusey se. Oho, araŋ kulu ma lalabu faka araŋ gaa araŋ da cara game ra, zama «Irikoy ga wongu boŋbeeraykoy amma a ga gomni no lalabukoy se.»
5Likewise, ye younger, be subject unto the elder. Yea, all of you gird yourselves with humility, to serve one another: for God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace to the humble.
6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;
6 Wa araŋ boŋ kaynandi Irikoy kambe dabarikoono cire, zama a m'araŋ beerandi alwaati kaŋ ga hagu ra.
6Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;
7casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you.
7 Wa araŋ karhã kulu dake a boŋ, zama a laakalo go araŋ gaa.
7casting all your anxiety upon him, because he careth for you.
8Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
8 Wa laakal daŋ! Wa batu mo! Zama araŋ yanjekaaro Iblisi* go danga muusu beeri kaŋ go ga dundu cine. A goono ga windi ka ceeci boro kaŋ nga ga ŋwa.
8Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour,
9Withstand him steadfast in your faith, knowing that your brothers who are in the world are undergoing the same sufferings.
9 Araŋ ma kay ka gaaba nd'a, wa bara tabbatanteyaŋ mo araŋ cimbeero ra. Zama araŋ ga bay kaŋ araŋ nya-izey kaŋ yaŋ go ndunnya ra goono g'araŋ taabey din dumo haŋ.
9whom withstand stedfast in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are accomplished in your brethren who are in the world.
10But may the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a little while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.
10 Irikoy kaŋ ga ti gomni kulu Koyo n'araŋ ce araŋ ma furo nga darza kaŋ ga duumi ra Almasihu ra. Waati kaŋ araŋ taabi alwaati kayna, woodin banda nga bumbo g'araŋ toonandi, a g'araŋ daahirandi, k'araŋ no gaabi, k'araŋ sinji mo.
10And the God of all grace, who called you unto his eternal glory in Christ, after that ye have suffered a little while, shall himself perfect, establish, strengthen you.
11To him be the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
Amin!
11To him [be] the dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
12Through Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I consider him, I have written to you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God in which you stand.
12 Sila n'ay gaakasinay ay ma tira kayno wo hantum araŋ se, nga kaŋ ay ga lasaabu nya-ize naanaykoy no. Ay goono g'araŋ yaamar, ay goono ga seeda mo ka ne: woone ga ti Irikoy gomni cimi-cimo. Araŋ ma kay a boŋ da gaabi.
12By Silvanus, our faithful brother, as I account [him], I have written unto you briefly, exhorting, and testifying that this is the true grace of God. Stand ye fast therein.
13She who is in Babylon, chosen together with you, greets you; and so does Mark, my son.
13 Marga suubananta kaŋ go Babila ra, kaŋ Irikoy n'araŋ d'ey suuban, goono g'araŋ fo. Yaadin mo no ay izo Markos.
13She that is in Babylon, elect together with [you], saluteth you; and [so doth] Mark my son.
14Greet one another with a kiss of love. Peace be to you all who are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
Laakal kanay ma bara araŋ kulu banda kaŋ go Almasihu ra.
14Salute one another with a kiss of love. Peace be unto you all that are in Christ.
