1 Samuel

5

1Now the Philistines had taken the ark of God, and they brought it from Ebenezer to Ashdod.
1 Filistancey binde na Irikoy sundurko sambu Eben-Ezer kwaara ka kond'a Asdod.
1Now the Philistines had taken the ark of God, and they brought it from Eben-ezer unto Ashdod.
2The Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.
2 Filistancey konda Irikoy sundurko k'a daŋ Dagon windo ra, k'a sinji i tooro Dagon jarga.
2And the Philistines took the ark of God, and brought it into the house of Dagon, and set it by Dagon.
3When they of Ashdod arose early on the next day, behold, Dagon was fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of Yahweh. They took Dagon, and set him in his place again.
3 A suba hala Asdod borey ga tun za da hinay, kal i di Dagon go ganda birante nga moyduma boŋ Rabbi sundurko jine. I ye ka Dagon sambu ka kayandi nga nango ra.
3And when they of Ashdod arose early on the morrow, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of Jehovah. And they took Dagon, and set him in his place again.
4When they arose early on the next day morning, behold, Dagon was fallen on his face to the ground before the ark of Yahweh; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands were cut off on the threshold. Only Dagon’s torso was intact.
4 A wane suba koyne kaŋ i tun da hinay, kala Dagon go koyne, a kaŋ nga moyduma boŋ Rabbi sundurko jine. Dagon boŋo d'a kambe faatey go ga gusam fuwo me gaa haray, gaaham suntulo hinne ka cindi Dagon se.
4And when they arose early on the morrow morning, behold, Dagon was fallen upon his face to the ground before the ark of Jehovah; and the head of Dagon and both the palms of his hands [lay] cut off upon the threshold; only [the stump of] Dagon was left to him.
5Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any who come into Dagon’s house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod, to this day.
5 Woodin se no Dagon alfagey da borey kaŋ yaŋ ga kaa Dagon diina fuwo do kulu si fuwo me kutijo taamu hala ka kaa sohõ Asdod ra.
5Therefore neither the priests of Dagon, nor any that come into Dagon's house, tread on the threshold of Dagon in Ashdod, unto this day.
6But the hand of Yahweh was heavy on them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and struck them with tumors, even Ashdod and its borders.
6 Amma Rabbi kamba ga tin Asdod borey boŋ. A n'i halaci mo, a n'i kar da jaŋyaŋ, za Asdod ka koy a hirro me.
6But the hand of Jehovah was heavy upon them of Ashdod, and he destroyed them, and smote them with tumors, even Ashdod and the borders thereof.
7When the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, “The ark of the God of Israel shall not stay with us; for his hand is severe on us, and on Dagon our god.”
7 Waato kaŋ cine Asdod borey di yaadin cine no a bara, i ne: «Israyla Irikoyo sundurko si goro iri do, zama a kamba go ga tin iri nda iri tooro Dagon boŋ.»
7And when the men of Ashdod saw that it was so, they said, The ark of the God of Israel shall not abide with us; for his hand is sore upon us, and upon Dagon our god.
8They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines to them, and said, “What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel?” They answered, “Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried over to Gath.” They carried the ark of the God of Israel there.
8 I binde donton ka Filistancey mayraykoyey kulu ce ngey do ka ne: «Mate no iri ga te nda Israyla Irikoyo sundurko?» I tu ka ne: «Kal i ma Israyla Irikoyo sundurko sambu ka kond'a Gat.» I binde na Israyla Irikoyo sundurko sambu ka kond'a noodin.
8They sent therefore and gathered all the lords of the Philistines unto them, and said, What shall we do with the ark of the God of Israel? And they answered, Let the ark of the God of Israel be carried about unto Gath. And they carried the ark of the God of Israel [thither].
9It was so, that after they had carried it about, the hand of Yahweh was against the city with a very great confusion: and he struck the men of the city, both small and great; and tumors broke out on them.
9 A ciya mo, waato kaŋ i kand'a, kala Rabbi kamba gaaba nda kwaara din da kankami gaabikooni. A na kwaara borey mo kar, ikayna nda ibeeri. Ngey mo, jaŋyaŋ soobay ka te i gaa.
9And it was so, that, after they had carried it about, the hand of Jehovah was against the city with a very great discomfiture: and he smote the men of the city, both small and great; and tumors brake out upon them.
10So they sent the ark of God to Ekron. It happened, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, “They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to kill us and our people.”
10So they sent the ark of God to Ekron. And it came to pass, as the ark of God came to Ekron, that the Ekronites cried out, saying, They have brought about the ark of the God of Israel to us, to slay us and our people.
11They sent therefore and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and they said, “Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to its own place, that it not kill us and our people.” For there was a deadly confusion throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.
11 I binde na Filistancey mayraykoyey kulu margu ka ne: «Wa Israyla Irikoyo sundurko samba nangu fo. Wa naŋ a ma ye nga nango ra koyne, a ma si iri nd'iri jama wi.» Zama kankami kaŋ wasa buuyaŋ na kwaara kulu kubay. Irikoy kamba mo tin gumo noodin.
11They sent therefore and gathered together all the lords of the Philistines, and they said, Send away the ark of the God of Israel, and let it go again to its own place, that is slay us not, and our people. For there was a deadly discomfiture throughout all the city; the hand of God was very heavy there.
12The men who didn’t die were struck with the tumors; and the cry of the city went up to heaven.
12 Borey kaŋ yaŋ mana bu mo jaŋ n'i di. Kwaara hẽeno mo ziji hala beene.
12And the men that died not were smitten with the tumors; and the cry of the city went up to heaven.
