1 Thessalonians

5

1But concerning the times and the seasons, brothers, you have no need that anything be written to you.
1 Amma alwaatey da zamaney ciine ra, ay nya-izey, araŋ si laami iri ma hay kulu hantum araŋ se i baaro boŋ.
1But concerning the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that aught be written unto you.
2For you yourselves know well that the day of the Lord comes like a thief in the night.
2 Zama araŋ bumbey ga bay gumo kaŋ Rabbi zaaro ga kaa danga cin ra zay cine.
2For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3For when they are saying, “Peace and safety,” then sudden destruction will come on them, like birth pains on a pregnant woman; and they will in no way escape.
3 Waati kaŋ i goono ga ne: «Baani nda laakal kanay!» kala halaciyaŋ ma kaa, fap folloŋ! ka kaŋ i boŋ, mate kaŋ cine hay-zaŋay ga kaa waykuno gaa. Faaba si no i se mo baa kayna.
3When they are saying, Peace and safety, then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall in no wise escape.
4But you, brothers, aren’t in darkness, that the day should overtake you like a thief.
4 Amma araŋ wo, nya-izey, manti kubay ra no araŋ go, hala zaaro din m'araŋ jirsi danga zay cine.
4But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief:
5You are all children of light, and children of the day. We don’t belong to the night, nor to darkness,
5 Zama araŋ kulu annura izeyaŋ no da kaari izeyaŋ mo. Iri manti cin wala kubay wane yaŋ.
5for ye are all sons of light, and sons of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness;
6so then let’s not sleep, as the rest do, but let’s watch and be sober.
6 Yaadin gaa iri ma si jirbi danga boro cindey cine, amma iri m'iri mo hay k'iri boŋ di.
6so then let us not sleep, as do the rest, but let us watch and be sober.
7For those who sleep, sleep in the night, and those who are drunk are drunk in the night.
7 Zama borey kaŋ goono ga jirbi, cin ra no i ga jirbi. Borey kaŋ goono ga baji haŋ ka bugu mo, cin ra no i ga bugu.
7For they that sleep sleep in the night: and they that are drunken are drunken in the night.
8But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
8 Amma iri kaŋ manti cin wane yaŋ, iri ma hin iri boŋ ka cimbeeri nda baakasinay daŋ i ma ciya iri se gande gaa kosaray, ka faaba beeja mo daŋ a ma ciya iri se wongu fuula.
8But let us, since we are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for a helmet, the hope of salvation.
9For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
9 Zama Irikoy mana iri waadu nga bine futa se, amma faaba duure se iri Rabbi Yesu Almasihu do.
9For God appointed us not into wrath, but unto the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,
10who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
10 Nga no ka bu iri sabbay se hal d'iri goono ga mo hay no wala nd'iri goono ga kani no, iri ma funa nga banda.
10who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11Therefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as you also do.
11 Woodin sabbay se araŋ ma care bine gaabandi, wa care gaa jina-koyyaŋ ra mo, mate kaŋ cine araŋ goono ga te.
11Wherefore exhort one another, and build each other up, even as also ye do.
12But we beg you, brothers, to know those who labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you,
12 Sohõ iri g'araŋ ŋwaaray, nya-izey, araŋ ma bara nda lalabu borey kaŋ yaŋ goono ga goy araŋ game ra se, kaŋ yaŋ goono g'araŋ candi, kaŋ yaŋ goono g'araŋ kaseeti mo.
12But we beseech you, brethren, to know them that labor among you, and are over you in the Lord, and admonish you;
13and to respect and honor them in love for their work’s sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
13 Araŋ m'i beerandi gumo baakasinay ra i goyey sabbay se. Laakal kanay ma bara araŋ game ra.
13and to esteem them exceeding highly in love for their work's sake. Be at peace among yourselves.
14We exhort you, brothers, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be patient toward all.
14 Iri mo g'araŋ yaamar, nya-izey, araŋ ma kaseeti borey kaŋ yaŋ goono ga hawfunay goray te gaa. Araŋ ma bine kulu kaŋ ga humburu gaabandi. Wa londibuuney gaa. Wa suuru nda boro kulu.
14And we exhort you, brethren, admonish the disorderly, encourage the fainthearted, support the weak, be longsuffering toward all.
15See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good, for one another, and for all.
15 Wa haggoy boro kulu ma si ye ka laala bana nda laala. Amma waati kulu wa ceeci haŋ kaŋ ga ti ihanno care se da boro kulu mo se.
15See that none render unto any one evil for evil; but always follow after that which is good, one toward another, and toward all.
16Rejoice always.
16 Araŋ ma farhã alwaati kulu.
16Rejoice always;
17Pray without ceasing.
17 Araŋ ma adduwa te waati kulu.
17pray without ceasing;
18In everything give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus toward you.
18 Hay kulu ra araŋ ma saabu, zama woodin ga ti Irikoy miila araŋ se Almasihu Yesu ra.
18in everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus to you-ward.
19Don’t quench the Spirit.
19 Araŋ ma si Biya _Hanno|_ ganji nga goyo.
19Quench not the Spirit;
20Don’t despise prophesies.
20 Araŋ ma si donda annabitaray.
20despise not prophesyings;
21Test all things, and hold firmly that which is good.
21 Araŋ ma hay kulu neesi ka ihanno gaay.
21prove all things; hold fast that which is good;
22Abstain from every form of evil.
22 Araŋ ma fay da goy laalo kulu dumi.
22abstain from every form of evil.
23May the God of peace himself sanctify you completely. May your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
23 Irikoy bumbo, kaŋ ga laakal kanay no, m'araŋ hananyaŋo kubandi. Irikoy m'araŋ boro fo kulu, biya* da fundo da gaahamo kulu, gaay kaŋ sinda jance, iri Rabbi Yesu Almasihu kaayaŋo alwaato ra.
23And the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
24He who calls you is faithful, who will also do it.
24 Irikoy ga woodin te mo, zama nga kaŋ g'araŋ ce ya naanaykoy no.
24Faithful is he that calleth you, who will also do it.
25Brothers, pray for us.
25 Nya-izey, wa adduwa te iri se.
25Brethren, pray for us.
26Greet all the brothers with a holy kiss.
26 Wa nya-izey kulu fo da baakasinay garbe sunsumyaŋ hanna.
26Salute all the brethren with a holy kiss.
27I solemnly command you by the Lord that this letter be read to all the holy brothers.
27 Ay g'araŋ ŋwaaray Rabbi maa ra, araŋ ma tira wo caw nya-izey kulu se.
27I adjure you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the brethren.
28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.
28 Iri Rabbi Yesu Almasihu gomno ma bara araŋ banda.
28The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
