2 Chronicles

11

1When Rehoboam had come to Jerusalem, he assembled the house of Judah and Benjamin, one hundred eighty thousand chosen men, who were warriors, to fight against Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.
1 Waato kaŋ Rehobowam kaa Urusalima, a na Yahuda nda Benyamin kundey margu, boro zambar zangu nda wahakku, soojeyaŋ kaŋ suubanante yaŋ no, zama ngey ma wongu nda Israyla ka ye ka kande mayra mo Rehobowam kambe ra.
1And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he assembled the house of Judah and Benjamin, a hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, that were warriors, to fight against Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.
2But the word of Yahweh came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
2 Amma Rabbi sanno kaa Irikoy bora Semaya do ka ne:
2But the word of Jehovah came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
3“Speak to Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
3Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
4‘Thus says Yahweh, “You shall not go up, nor fight against your brothers! Return every man to his house; for this thing is of me.”’” So they listened to the words of Yahweh, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
Boro fo kulu ma ye nga kwaara, zama woone wo, ay do no a fun.» I binde maa Rabbi sanno se. I ye, i mana wongu nda Yerebowam koyne.
4Thus saith Jehovah, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house; for this thing is of me. So they hearkened unto the words of Jehovah, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
5Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem, and built cities for defense in Judah.
5And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.
6He built Bethlehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,

11And he fortified the strongholds, and put captains in them, and stores of victuals, and oil and wine.
12He put shields and spears in every city, and made them exceeding strong. Judah and Benjamin belonged to him.

12And in every city [he put] shields and spears, and made them exceeding strong. And Judah and Benjamin belonged to him.
13The priests and the Levites who were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their border.
13 Alfagey da Lawi borey kulu binde kaŋ go Israyla kulu ra, i kaa a do ka fun ngey kurayey kulu ra.
13And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their border.
14For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons cast them off, that they should not execute the priest’s office to Yahweh;
14For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons cast them off, that they should not execute the priest's office unto Jehovah;
15and he appointed him priests for the high places, and for the male goats, and for the calves which he had made.
15and he appointed him priests for the high places, and for the he-goats, and for the calves which he had made.
16After them, out of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their hearts to seek Yahweh, the God of Israel, came to Jerusalem to sacrifice to Yahweh, the God of their fathers.
16 Amma Israyla kundey kulu ra, borey kaŋ yaŋ na ngey biney daŋ Rabbi, Israyla Irikoyo ceeciyaŋ gaa, i kaa Urusalima zama ngey ma sargay salle Rabbi ngey kaayey Irikoyo se.
16And after them, out of all the tribes of Israel, such as set their hearts to seek Jehovah, the God of Israel, came to Jerusalem to sacrifice unto Jehovah, the God of their fathers.
17So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years; for they walked three years in the way of David and Solomon.
17 I binde na Yahuda mayra gaabandi. I na Rehobowam Suleymanu izo gaabandi mo, hala jiiri hinza, zama i to jiiri hinza kaŋ i goono ga Dawda da Suleymanu fondey gana.
17So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years; for they walked three years in the way of David and Solomon.

18And Rehoboam took him a wife, Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David, [and of] Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse;
19and she bore him sons: Jeush, and Shemariah, and Zaham.

20And after her he took Maacah the daughter of Absalom; and she bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
21Rehoboam loved Maacah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and sixty concubines, and became the father of twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.)
21 Rehobowam binde ga ba Maaka Absalom ize wayo ka bisa nga wande cindey da wahayey kulu. (Zama a na wande way cindi ahakku hiiji, da wahay waydu. A hay ize alboro waranka cindi ahakku, da ize wayboro waydu.)
21And Rehoboam loved Maacah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines, and begat twenty and eight sons and threescore daughters.)
22Rehoboam appointed Abijah the son of Maacah to be chief, the prince among his brothers; for he intended to make him king.
22 Rehobowam na Abiya Maaka izo daŋ a ma ciya ibeeri, sanda nga no ga ti jine boro nga nya-izey se, kaŋ ga naŋ a ma may.
22And Rehoboam appointed Abijah the son of Maacah to be chief, [even] the prince among his brethren; for [he was minded] to make him king.
23He dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, to every fortified city: and he gave them food in abundance. He sought for them many wives.
A n'i daŋ gallu kaŋ gonda wongu cinari kulu ra. A n'i no i kwaara goray hari boobo. A na hiijay wandeyaŋ ceeci i se mo, iboobo.
23And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fortified city: and he gave them victuals in abundance. And he sought [for them] many wives.
