¹Moreover, brothers, we make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the assemblies of Macedonia;

¹Moreover, brethren, we make known to you the grace of God which hath been given in the churches of Macedonia;

²how that in much proof of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their liberality.

² Kankami boobo kaŋ n'i si ra i na ngey farhã booba cabe. Oho, baa alfukaarutaray ra i na ngey nooyaŋey no da baayaŋ.

²how that in much proof of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded unto the riches of their liberality.

³For according to their power, I testify, yes and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord,

³ Zama ay goono g'i seeda: i no ngey hina boŋ, hal a bisa mo wo kaŋ i ga hin, i bine yadda boŋ.

³For according to their power, I bear witness, yea and beyond their power, [they gave] of their own accord,

⁴begging us with much entreaty to receive this grace and the fellowship in the service to the saints.

⁴ I n'iri ŋwaaray gumo ngey ma du gomni ka furo gaakasinay marguyaŋo ra hanantey se.

⁴beseeching us with much entreaty in regard of this grace and the fellowship in the ministering to the saints:

⁵This was not as we had hoped, but first they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us through the will of God.

⁵ I man'a te mo mate kaŋ cine iri tammahã hinne, amma i jin ka ngey boŋ no Rabbi se, d'iri mo se Irikoy miila boŋ.

⁵and [this], not as we had hoped, but first they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us through the will of God.

⁶So we urged Titus, that as he made a beginning before, so he would also complete in you this grace.

⁶ A se no, iri na Titos yaamar ka ne, za kaŋ nga no ka gomni goyo sintin, a m'a toonandi mo araŋ do.

⁶Insomuch that we exhorted Titus, that as he made a beginning before, so he would also complete in you this grace also.

⁷But as you abound in everything, in faith, utterance, knowledge, all earnestness, and in your love to us, see that you also abound in this grace.

⁷ Mate kaŋ araŋ gonda hay kulu yulwante -- cimbeeri, da sanni, da bayray, da kookari kulu, da baakasinay iri se -- kal araŋ ma baa ka tonton gomno wo ra mo.

⁷But as ye abound in everything, [in] faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and [in] all earnestness, and [in] your love to us, [see] that ye abound in this grace also.

⁸I speak not by way of commandment, but as proving through the earnestness of others the sincerity also of your love.

⁹For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich.

⁹For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that ye through his poverty might become rich.

¹⁰I give a judgment in this: for this is expedient for you, who were the first to start a year ago, not only to do, but also to be willing.

¹⁰ Woone ra ay g'ay saawara no kaŋ gonda nafa araŋ se ay diyaŋ gaa. Za manaŋ araŋ no jin ka sintin ka nooyaŋey no. Araŋ mo no jin k'a miila.

¹⁰And herein I give [my] judgment: for this is expedient for you, who were the first to make a beginning a year ago, not only to do, but also to will.

¹¹But now complete the doing also, that as there was the readiness to be willing, so there may be the completion also out of your ability.

¹¹ Sohõ kal araŋ m'a teeyaŋo toonandi, zama mate kaŋ bine yadda go, yaadin mo no a toonandiyaŋo ma bara, araŋ hina boŋ.

¹¹But now complete the doing also; that as [there was] the readiness to will, so [there may be] the completion also out of your ability.

¹²For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you don’t have.

¹² Zama nda anniya go no, Irikoy ga yadda haya kaŋ boro gonda boŋ, manti a siinoyaŋ boŋ.

¹²For if the readiness is there, [it is] acceptable according as [a man] hath, not according as [he] hath not.

¹³For this is not that others may be eased and you distressed,

¹³ Manti sanda i ma dogonandi boro fooyaŋ se, araŋ mo ma taabi bo, amma zama sabayaŋ ma te. Sohõ kaŋ araŋ duura ga baa, a ma ciya gaakasinay ngey kaŋ go jaŋay ra se,

¹³For [I say] not [this] that others may be eased [and] ye distressed;

¹⁴but for equality. Your abundance at this present time supplies their lack, that their abundance also may become a supply for your lack; that there may be equality.

¹⁴ hala mo han fo i duura m'araŋ jaŋa bana. Yaadin gaa no sabayaŋ ga te.

¹⁴but by equality: your abundance [being a supply] at this present time for their want, that their abundance also may become [a supply] for your want; that there may be equality:

¹⁵As it is written, “He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack.” Exodus 16:8

¹⁵ Mate kaŋ i n'a hantum ka ne: «Boro kaŋ margu iboobo, a mana to ka daaru a se, boro kaŋ margu ikayna mo, a mana gaze a se.»

¹⁵as it is written, He that [gathered] much had nothing over; and he that [gathered] little had no lack.

¹⁶But thanks be to God, who puts the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus.

¹⁶But thanks be to God, who putteth the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus.

¹⁷For he indeed accepted our exhortation, but being himself very earnest, he went out to you of his own accord.

¹⁷ Haciika a n'iri yaamaryaŋo ta. Koyne zama nga bumbo gonda anniya hanno, a ga tun ne ka koy araŋ do da nga boŋ miila.

¹⁷For he accepted indeed our exhortation; but being himself very earnest, he went forth unto you of his own accord.

¹⁸We have sent together with him the brother whose praise in the Good News is known through all the assemblies.

¹⁸And we have sent together with him the brother whose praise in the gospel [is spread] through all the churches;

¹⁹Not only so, but who was also appointed by the assemblies to travel with us in this grace, which is served by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and to show our readiness.

¹⁹ Manti woodin hinne mo no, amma Almasihu margey no k'a suuban a ma naaru iri banda gomno din ciine ra. Iri go ga goyo wo te Rabbi bumbo darza se da mo iri m'iri himma cabe se.

¹⁹and not only so, but who was also appointed by the churches to travel with us in [the matter of] this grace, which is ministered by us to the glory of the Lord, and [to show] our readiness:

²⁰We are avoiding this, that any man should blame us concerning this abundance which is administered by us.

²⁰ Iri go ga haggoy mo hala boro kulu ma si taali dake iri boŋ da haŋ kaŋ iri go ga te nooyaŋo wo ciine ra.

²⁰Avoiding this, that any man should blame us in [the matter of] this bounty which is ministered by us:

²¹Having regard for honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

²¹ Zama iri ga ba iri ma te haŋ kaŋ ga boori, manti Irikoy jine hinne bo, amma baa borey jine mo.

²¹for we take thought for things honorable, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

²²We have sent with them our brother, whom we have many times proved earnest in many things, but now much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence which he has in you.

²² I banda mo iri g'iri nya-ize fo donton koyne kaŋ iri gosi sorro boobo hari boobo ra. Iri n'a gar mo anniyakoy. Sohõ binde a anniya tonton, naanay beero kaŋ a gonda araŋ se sabbay se.

²²and we have sent with them our brother, whom we have many times proved earnest in many things, but now much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence which [he hath] in you.

²³As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you. As for our brothers, they are the apostles of the assemblies, the glory of Christ.

²³ Haŋ kaŋ ga ti Titos ciine ra, nga wo ay hangasin d'ay goykasin mo no araŋ se. Iri nya-izey ciine ra mo, ngey wo Almasihu margey diyayaŋ no, Almasihu darza mo no.

²³Whether [any inquire] about Titus, [he is] my partner and [my] fellow-worker to you-ward, or our brethren, [they are] the messengers of the churches, [they are] the glory of Christ.

²⁴Therefore show the proof of your love to them in front of the assemblies, and of our boasting on your behalf.

²⁴ Yaadin gaa, araŋ m'araŋ baakasinay seeda cabe i se Almasihu margey jine. Araŋ m'i cabe mo haŋ kaŋ iri fooma nd'a araŋ boŋ.

²⁴Show ye therefore unto them in the face of the churches the proof of your love, and of our glorying on your behalf.
