2 Kings

22

1Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned thirty-one years in Jerusalem: and his mother’s name was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.
1 Yosiya gonda jiiri ahakku alwaato kaŋ a sintin ka may. A may mo jiiri waranza cindi fo Urusalima ra. A nyaŋo mo maa Yedida, Adaya ize wayo, Bozkat boro no.
1Josiah was eight years old when he began to reign; and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem: and his mother's name was Jedidah the daughter of Adaiah of Bozkath.
2He did that which was right in the eyes of Yahweh, and walked in all the way of David his father, and didn’t turn aside to the right hand or to the left.
2 Yosiya te haŋ kaŋ ga saba Rabbi diyaŋ gaa ka nga kaayo Dawda fonda kulu gana. A mana kamba kambe ŋwaari wala kambe wow gaa haray.
2And he did that which was right in the eyes of Jehovah, and walked in all the way of David his father, and turned not aside to the right hand or to the left.
3It happened in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan, the son of Azaliah the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of Yahweh, saying,
3 A ciya, Bonkoono Yosiya mayra jiiri way cindi ahakkanta, kala bonkoono na hantumkwa Safan, Azaliya ize, Mesullam ize donton a ma koy Rabbi windo ra. A ne:
3And it came to pass in the eighteenth year of king Josiah, that the king sent Shaphan, the son of Azaliah the son of Meshullam, the scribe, to the house of Jehovah, saying,
4“Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum the money which is brought into the house of Yahweh, which the keepers of the threshold have gathered of the people.
4 «Ma koy alfaga beero Hilciya do, zama a ma nooro kaŋ i kande Rabbi windo ra lasaabu, wo kaŋ yaŋ me batukoy margu-margu ka ta jama gaa.
4Go up to Hilkiah the high priest, that he may sum the money which is brought into the house of Jehovah, which the keepers of the threshold have gathered of the people:
5Let them deliver it into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of Yahweh; and let them give it to the workmen who are in the house of Yahweh, to repair the breaches of the house,
5 I m'a daŋ goy-teerey kaŋ yaŋ ga Rabbi windo goyo haggoy kambe ra. Ngey mo m'a no goy-izey kaŋ go Rabbi windo ra se, zama i ma naŋ kaŋ windo kottu din hanse.
5and let them deliver it into the hand of the workmen that have the oversight of the house of Jehovah; and let them give it to the workmen that are in the house of Jehovah, to repair the breaches of the house,
6to the carpenters, and to the builders, and to the masons, and for buying timber and cut stone to repair the house.
6 I m'a no mo sacey da cinakoy da tondi jabukoy se, hal i ma tuuri da tondi jabante day windo hanseyaŋ se.»
6unto the carpenters, and to the builders, and to the masons, and for buying timber and hewn stone to repair the house.
7However there was no accounting made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand; for they dealt faithfully.”
7 Amma i si ga nooro kaŋ i ga daŋ i kambe ra lasaabu, zama i ga ngey goyo te da naanay.
7Howbeit there was no reckoning made with them of the money that was delivered into their hand; for they dealt faithfully.
8Hilkiah the high priest said to Shaphan the scribe, “I have found the book of the law in the house of Yahweh.” Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan, and he read it.
8And Hilkiah the high priest said unto Shaphan the scribe, I have found the book of the law in the house of Jehovah. And Hilkiah delivered the book to Shaphan, and he read it.
9Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, “Your servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of the workmen who have the oversight of the house of Yahweh.”
9And Shaphan the scribe came to the king, and brought the king word again, and said, Thy servants have emptied out the money that was found in the house, and have delivered it into the hand of the workmen that have the oversight of the house of Jehovah.
10Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, “Hilkiah the priest has delivered a book to me.” Shaphan read it before the king.
10And Shaphan the scribe told the king, saying, Hilkiah the priest hath delivered me a book. And Shaphan read it before the king.
11It happened, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he tore his clothes.
11 A ciya mo, alwaato kaŋ bonkoono maa sanney kaŋ go asariya tira ra, kal a na nga bankaarayey tooru-tooru.
11And it came to pass, when the king had heard the words of the book of the law, that he rent his clothes.
12The king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Micaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king’s servant, saying,
12And the king commanded Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam the son of Shaphan, and Achbor the son of Micaiah, and Shaphan the scribe, and Asaiah the king's servant, saying,
13“Go inquire of Yahweh for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found; for great is the wrath of Yahweh that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not listened to the words of this book, to do according to all that which is written concerning us.”
13 «Wa koy ka Rabbi hã in da jama da Yahuda kulu mo se, tiro wo kaŋ i gar ciine ra. Zama Rabbi futa ya ibeeri no kaŋ ga koroŋ iri gaa, zama iri kaayey mana hangan tira wo sanney se, i mana goy mo da hay kulu kaŋ i hantum iri se.»
13Go ye, inquire of Jehovah for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found; for great is the wrath of Jehovah that is kindled against us, because our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according unto all that which is written concerning us.
14So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah, went to Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she lived in Jerusalem in the second quarter); and they talked with her.
14 Alfa Hilciya mo, da Ahikam, da Akbor, da Safan, da Asaya koy wayboro annabo Hulda do, kaŋ ga ti Sallum wande. Baabo maa Tikba, kaayo maa Haras. (Sallum no ga ti bankaarayey fuwo batukwa.) Waybora din go Urusalima ra da goray, Misne kura. Kala Hilciyayaŋ salaŋ a se.
14So Hilkiah the priest, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asaiah, went unto Huldah the prophetess, the wife of Shallum the son of Tikvah, the son of Harhas, keeper of the wardrobe (now she dwelt in Jerusalem in the second quarter); and they communed with her.
15She said to them, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: ‘Tell the man who sent you to me,
15 Waybora mo ne i se: «Yaa no Rabbi, Israyla Irikoyo ci: Wa ci bora kaŋ n'araŋ donton ay gaa din se:
15And she said unto them, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel: Tell ye the man that sent you unto me,
16“Thus says Yahweh, ‘Behold, I will bring evil on this place, and on its inhabitants, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah has read.
16 Rabbi ne: Guna, ay ga masiiba candi ka kande nango wo d'a ra gorokoy gaa, sanda tira sanney kulu kaŋ Yahuda bonkoono caw.
16Thus saith Jehovah, Behold, I will bring evil upon this place, and upon the inhabitants thereof, even all the words of the book which the king of Judah hath read.
17Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense to other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and it shall not be quenched.’”
17 Zama i n'ay furu ka dugu ton de-koy fooyaŋ se, zama i m'ay zokoti nda ngey kambe goyey kulu. Woodin sabbay se no ay futa ga koroŋ nango din boŋ, hay kulu s'a ban mo.
17Because they have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, that they might provoke me to anger with all the work of their hands, therefore my wrath shall be kindled against this place, and it shall not be quenched.
18But to the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of Yahweh, thus you shall tell him, “Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel: ‘Concerning the words which you have heard,
18 Amma Yahuda bonkoono kaŋ n'araŋ donton araŋ ma hã Rabbi gaa din, haŋ kaŋ araŋ ga ci a se neeya: Rabbi, Israyla Irikoyo ne: Sanno kaŋ ni maa ciine ra,
18But unto the king of Judah, who sent you to inquire of Jehovah, thus shall ye say to him, Thus saith Jehovah, the God of Israel: As touching the words which thou hast heard,
19because your heart was tender, and you humbled yourself before Yahweh, when you heard what I spoke against this place, and against its inhabitants, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and have torn your clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard you,’ says Yahweh.
Yaadin no Rabbi ci.
19because thy heart was tender, and thou didst humble thyself before Jehovah, when thou heardest what I spake against this place, and against the inhabitants thereof, that they should become a desolation and a curse, and hast rent thy clothes, and wept before me; I also have heard thee, saith Jehovah.
20‘Therefore behold, I will gather you to your fathers, and you shall be gathered to your grave in peace, neither shall your eyes see all the evil which I will bring on this place.’”’” They brought back this message to the king.
Ni ga to ni saara do laakal kanay ra.
20Therefore, behold, I will gather thee to thy fathers, and thou shalt be gathered to thy grave in peace, neither shall thine eyes see all the evil which I will bring upon this place. And they brought the king word again.
