Acts

11

1Now the apostles and the brothers who were in Judea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.
1 A go mo, diyey da nya-izey kaŋ yaŋ go Yahudiya ra maa baaro kaŋ dumi cindey mo na Irikoy sanno ta.
1Now the apostles and the brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles also had received the word of God.
2When Peter had come up to Jerusalem, those who were of the circumcision contended with him,
2 Waato kaŋ Bitros kaa Urusalima, borey kaŋ yaŋ ga ti dambanguyaŋ do haray waney kakaw da Bitros
2And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,
3saying, “You went in to uncircumcised men, and ate with them!”
3 ka ne: «Ni furo borey kaŋ yaŋ si dambangu do ka ŋwa i banda.»
3saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.
4But Peter began, and explained to them in order, saying,
4 Amma Bitros sintin ka sanno feeri i se za boŋo kal a me ka ne:
4But Peter began, and expounded [the matter] unto them in order, saying,
5“I was in the city of Joppa praying, and in a trance I saw a vision: a certain container descending, like it was a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners. It came as far as me.
5 «Ay go Yaffa kwaara ra ka te adduwa. Jirbi ra mo Irikoy n'ay laakal sambu hal ay di bangayyaŋ. Hay fo sanda zaara bambata cine go ga zumbu kaŋ i go g'a deene taaca gaay. A go ga kaa ka fun beene ka kaa kal ay do.
5I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, a certain vessel descending, as it were a great sheet let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even unto me:
6When I had looked intently at it, I considered, and saw the four-footed animals of the earth, wild animals, creeping things, and birds of the sky.
6 A binde, waato kaŋ ay guna a ra, ay goono ga laakal daŋ mo, kal ay di ndunnya alman ce-taaci-koyyaŋ, da ganji hamyaŋ, da ganda fanakayaŋ, da beene curoyaŋ.
6upon which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw the fourfooted beasts of the earth and wild beasts and creeping things and birds of the heaven.
7I also heard a voice saying to me, ‘Rise, Peter, kill and eat!’
7 Ay maa jinde fo mo kaŋ ne ay se: ‹Bitros, tun ka wi ka ŋwa.›
7And I heard also a voice saying unto me, Rise, Peter; kill and eat.
8But I said, ‘Not so, Lord, for nothing unholy or unclean has ever entered into my mouth.’
8 Amma ay ne: ‹Manti yaadin no, ya Rabbi, zama haŋ kaŋ ga harram wala ziibikoy mana furo ay me ra baa ce fo.›
8But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath ever entered into my mouth.
9But a voice answered me the second time out of heaven, ‘What God has cleansed, don’t you call unclean.’
9 Amma jinda ye ka fun beene ka tu ay se sorro hinkanta ka ne: ‹Haŋ kaŋ Irikoy hanandi, ni ma s'a harramandi.›
9But a voice answered the second time out of heaven, What God hath cleansed, make not thou common.
10This was done three times, and all were drawn up again into heaven.
10 Woodin te hala sorro hinza, gaa no i n'a kulu candi ka ye d'a beene koyne.
10And this was done thrice: and all were drawn up again into heaven.
11Behold, immediately three men stood before the house where I was, having been sent from Caesarea to me.
11 Kala mo sahãadin, boro hinza kaŋ yaŋ i donton, kaŋ fun Kaysariya, go ga kay windo me gaa, nango kaŋ iri go.
11And behold, forthwith three men stood before the house in which we were, having been sent from Caesarea unto me.
12The Spirit told me to go with them, without discriminating. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house.
12 Biya _Hanno|_ mo ci ay se ka ne ay ma koy i banda, ya si sikka mo. Nya-ize iddo wo mo koy ay banda. Iri furo mo bora fuwo ra.
12And the Spirit bade me go with them, making no distinction. And these six brethren also accompanied me; and we entered into the man's house:
13He told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, and saying to him, ‘Send to Joppa, and get Simon, whose surname is Peter,
13 A dede iri se mo mate kaŋ cine nga di malayka kaŋ go ga kay nga fuwo ra ka ne: ‹Ma donton Yaffa kwaara ka Siman kaŋ se i ga ne Bitros ce.
13and he told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, and saying, Send to Joppa, and fetch Simon, whose surname is Peter;
14who will speak to you words by which you will be saved, you and all your house.’
14 Nga no ga ci ni se sanney kaŋ do ni ga du faaba, nin da ni almayaaley kulu.›
14who shall speak unto thee words, whereby thou shalt be saved, thou and all thy house.
15As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.
15 Waato kaŋ ay sintin ka salaŋ i se mo, Biya Hanna zumbu i boŋ, sanda mate kaŋ cine a zumbu iri boŋ za sintina gaa.
15And as I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell on them, even as on us at the beginning.
16I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, ‘John indeed baptized in water, but you will be baptized in the Holy Spirit.’
16 Ay mo fongu nda Rabbi sanno, mate kaŋ a ne: ‹Haciika Yohanna na baptisma te da hari, amma araŋ ga du Biya Hanna baptisma.›
16And I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized in the Holy Spirit.
17If then God gave to them the same gift as us, when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?”
17 Za kaŋ Irikoy n'i no nooyaŋ kaŋ ga saba nda iri wano kaŋ a n'iri no cine, waato kaŋ iri na Yesu Almasihu cimandi, may ci ay hal ay ma gaaba nda Irikoy?»
17If then God gave unto them the like gift as [he did] also unto us, when we believed on the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I, that I could withstand God?
18When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, “Then God has also granted to the Gentiles repentance to life!”
18 Waato kaŋ i maa woodin, jama dangay ka Irikoy beerandi. I ne: «Yaadin gaa, dumi cindey mo se Irikoy na tuubiyaŋ no zama i ma du fundi.»
18And when they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then to the Gentiles also hath God granted repentance unto life.
19They therefore who were scattered abroad by the oppression that arose about Stephen traveled as far as Phoenicia, Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to no one except to Jews only.
19 Borey kaŋ yaŋ say-say gurzuga sabbay se kaŋ tun Istifanos sabbay se din koy hala Finiciya, da Kubrus da Antiyos. I siino ga Sanno ci boro kulu se kala Yahudancey hinne se.
19They therefore that were scattered abroad upon the tribulation that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phoenicia, and Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to none save only to Jews.
20But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they had come to Antioch, spoke to the Hellenists, preaching the Lord Jesus.
20 Amma i ra boro fooyaŋ, Kubrus da Kayrawa boroyaŋ no, waato kaŋ i to Antiyos, i sintin ka salaŋ Gareku borey se mo ka Rabbi Yesu baaro waazu i se.
20But there were some of them, men of Cyprus and Cyrene, who, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Greeks also, preaching the Lord Jesus.
21The hand of the Lord was with them, and a great number believed and turned to the Lord.
21 Rabbi kamba mo go i banda. Borey marga bambata no cimandi ka bare Rabbi do.
21And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number that believed turned unto the Lord.
22The report concerning them came to the ears of the assembly which was in Jerusalem. They sent out Barnabas to go as far as Antioch,
22 I baaro koy ka kaŋ Almasihu marga borey hangey ra kaŋ go Urusalima. Ngey mo na Barnaba donton a ma koy kala Antiyos.
22And the report concerning them came to the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas as far as Antioch:
23who, when he had come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad. He exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they should remain near to the Lord.
23 Nga mo, waato kaŋ a kaa noodin, a di Irikoy gomno mo, kal a farhã. A n'i kulu yaamar ka ne i ma lamba Rabbi gaa da anniya.
23who, when he was come, and had seen the grace of God, was glad; and he exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord:
24For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith, and many people were added to the Lord.
24 Zama Barnaba wo boro hanno no, a to da Biya Hanno da cimbeeri*. Jama boobo mo tonton Rabbi gaa.
24for he was a good man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.
25Barnabas went out to Tarsus to look for Saul.
25 A fun noodin ka koy Tarsus kwaara ka Sawulu ceeci.
25And he went forth to Tarsus to seek for Saul;
26When he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. It happened, that for a whole year they were gathered together with the assembly, and taught many people. The disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.
26 Waato kaŋ Barnaba di a, a kand'a Antiyos. I go no care banda Almasihu marga ra kala jiiri fo ka boro boobo dondonandi. Antiyos ra no i sintin ka ne talibey se «Almasihuyaŋ».
26and when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that even for a whole year they were gathered together with the church, and taught much people, and that the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
27Now in these days, prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.
27 Jirbey din ra mo annabi fooyaŋ fun Urusalima ka zulli ka koy Antiyos.
27Now in these days there came down prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.
28One of them named Agabus stood up, and indicated by the Spirit that there should be a great famine all over the world, which also happened in the days of Claudius.
28 I ra boro fo kaŋ se i ga ne Agabos tun ka kay ka cabe Biya _Hanno|_ do kaŋ haray bambata ga ba ka te laabey kulu ra. Woodin binde mana te kala Kuludiyos zamana ra.
28And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be a great famine over all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius.
29As any of the disciples had plenty, each determined to send relief to the brothers who lived in Judea;
29 Talibey mo, boro kulu nga hino boŋ, na sarti sambu ka ne ngey ga gaakasinay samba nya-izey se kaŋ yaŋ goono ga goro Yahudiya.
29And the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren that dwelt in Judea:
30which they also did, sending it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.
30 I n'a te mo. I na gaakasina samba arkusey do Sawulu nda Barnaba kambe ra.
30which also they did, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
