21

1If one be found slain in the land which Yahweh your God gives you to possess it, lying in the field, and it isn’t known who has struck him;
1 D'i na boro buuko fo gar laabo kaŋ Rabbi ni Irikoyo ga ni no mayray din ra, a go saajo ra ga furu, i mana bay mo boro kaŋ n'a kar,
1If one be found slain in the land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee to possess it, lying in the field, and it be not known who hath smitten him;
2then your elders and your judges shall come forth, and they shall measure to the cities which are around him who is slain:
2 kala ni arkusu beerey da ni ciitikoy ma fatta ka kaa. I ma neesi za buukwa do ka koy kwaarey kaŋ yaŋ g'a windi gaa.
2then thy elders and thy judges shall come forth, and they shall measure unto the cities which are round about him that is slain:
3and it shall be, that the city which is nearest to the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take a heifer of the herd, which hasn’t been worked with, and which has not drawn in the yoke;
3 A ga ciya mo, kwaara kaŋ ga maan buukwa gaa ka bisa cindey kulu, kwaara din arkusey ga kande haw kuru ra zan fo. A ma ciya wo kaŋ i mana goy d'a ce fo, wo kaŋ mana calu candi no.
3and it shall be, that the city which is nearest unto the slain man, even the elders of that city shall take a heifer of the herd, which hath not been wrought with, and which hath not drawn in the yoke;
4and the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer to a valley with running water, which is neither plowed nor sown, and shall break the heifer’s neck there in the valley.
4 Kwaara din arkusey mo ga konda zano ka koy gooru fo do, naŋ kaŋ gonda hari zuru, nangu kaŋ i mana far, i man'a duma mo. I ma zano jinda ceeri mo noodin gooro ra.
4and the elders of that city shall bring down the heifer unto a valley with running water, which is neither plowed nor sown, and shall break the heifer's neck there in the valley.
5The priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them Yahweh your God has chosen to minister to him, and to bless in the name of Yahweh; and according to their word shall every controversy and every stroke be.
5 Alfagey mo, Lawi izey ga kaa ka maan, (zama ngey no Rabbi ni Irikoyo suuban zama i ma goy a se, i ma albarka gaara Rabbi maa ra. I sanno boŋ mo no kakaw kulu ga ban, ciiti kulu ga dumbu mo.)
5And the priests the sons of Levi shall come near; for them Jehovah thy God hath chosen to minister unto him, and to bless in the name of Jehovah; and according to their word shall every controversy and every stroke be.
6All the elders of that city, who are nearest to the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley;

6And all the elders of that city, who are nearest unto the slain man, shall wash their hands over the heifer whose neck was broken in the valley;
7and they shall answer and say, “Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.
7 I ma tu mo ka ne: «Manti iri kambey no ka kuri woone mun, iri moy mo mana di a.
7and they shall answer and say, Our hands have not shed this blood, neither have our eyes seen it.
8Forgive, Yahweh, your people Israel, whom you have redeemed, and don’t allow innocent blood in the midst of your people Israel.” The blood shall be forgiven them.
8 Ya Rabbi, ma ni borey Israyla yaafa, ngey kaŋ ni fansa. Ma si ta mo boro adili kuri alhakko ma goro ni jama Israyla game ra.» I ga kuri alhakko mo yaafa i se.
8Forgive, O Jehovah, thy people Israel, whom thou hast redeemed, and suffer not innocent blood [to remain] in the midst of thy people Israel. And the blood shall be forgiven them.
9So you shall put away the innocent blood from the midst of you, when you shall do that which is right in the eyes of Yahweh.
9 Yaadin no ni ga te ka kuri adilante tuusu ni game ra d'a, da ni te haŋ kaŋ ga saba Rabbi diyaŋ gaa.
9So shalt thou put away the innocent blood from the midst of thee, when thou shalt do that which is right in the eyes of Jehovah.
10When you go forth to battle against your enemies, and Yahweh your God delivers them into your hands, and you carry them away captive,
10 Alwaati ga kaa kaŋ ni ga fatta ka konda wongu ni ibarey gaa. Rabbi ni Irikoyo mo g'i daŋ ni kambe ra hala ni ga kond'ey tamtaray ra.
10When thou goest forth to battle against thine enemies, and Jehovah thy God delivereth them into thy hands, and thou carriest them away captive,
11and see among the captives a beautiful woman, and you have a desire to her, and would take her to you as wife;
11 Da ni ga di wayboro hanno fo tamey ra, ni ga ba r'a mo, ni ga ba a ma ciya ni wande,
11and seest among the captives a beautiful woman, and thou hast a desire unto her, and wouldest take her to thee to wife;
12then you shall bring her home to your house; and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails;

12then thou shalt bring her home to thy house; and she shall shave her head, and pare her nails;
13and she shall put the clothing of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in your house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that you shall go in to her, and be her husband, and she shall be your wife.

13and she shall put the raiment of her captivity from off her, and shall remain in thy house, and bewail her father and her mother a full month: and after that thou shalt go in unto her, and be her husband, and she shall be thy wife.
14It shall be, if you have no delight in her, then you shall let her go where she will; but you shall not sell her at all for money, you shall not deal with her as a slave, because you have humbled her.
14 A ga ciya mo, da waybora din fun ni bine, kala ni m'a taŋ a ma koy naŋ kaŋ a ga ba. Amma ni ma s'a neera ka ta nooru, abada, ni ma s'a himandi koŋŋo mo, zama ni n'a kaynandi.
14And it shall be, if thou have no delight in her, then thou shalt let her go whither she will; but thou shalt not sell her at all for money, thou shalt not deal with her as a slave, because thou hast humbled her.
15If a man have two wives, the one beloved, and the other hated, and they have borne him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the firstborn son be hers who was hated;
15 Da alboro fo gonda wande hinka, afa way-kwaasu no, afa mo zoogay no, i na izeyaŋ hay a se mo, way-kwaasa da zoogayo kulu, da zoogayo ize alboro no ga ti hay-jina,
15If a man have two wives, the one beloved, and the other hated, and they have borne him children, both the beloved and the hated; and if the first-born son be hers that was hated;
16then it shall be, in the day that he causes his sons to inherit that which he has, that he may not make the son of the beloved the firstborn before the son of the hated, who is the firstborn:
16 kal a ma ciya, waati kaŋ albora ga nga mayray haro fay tubu nga ize arey se, fondo kulu si no a ma way-kwaasa din ize aro te hay-jine zoogayo ize aro nango ra. Zama nga no ga ti hay-jina nda cimi.
16then it shall be, in the day that he causeth his sons to inherit that which he hath, that he may not make the son of the beloved the first-born before the son of the hated, who is the first-born:
17but he shall acknowledge the firstborn, the son of the hated, by giving him a double portion of all that he has; for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the firstborn is his.

17but he shall acknowledge the first-born, the son of the hated, by giving him a double portion of all that he hath; for he is the beginning of his strength; the right of the first-born is his.
18If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, who will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and, though they chasten him, will not listen to them;
18 Da boro gonda ize aru kaŋ hanga ga sandi, murtante mo no, kaŋ ga wangu nga baaba wala nga nyaŋo sanni ganayaŋ, kaŋ baa i n'a gooji, kulu nda yaadin a si hangan i se,
18If a man have a stubborn and rebellious son, that will not obey the voice of his father, or the voice of his mother, and, though they chasten him, will not hearken unto them;
19then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out to the elders of his city, and to the gate of his place;
19 kal baabo da nyaŋo m'a di. I ma kond'a i kwaara arkusey do, ka koy hala faada meyo do.
19then shall his father and his mother lay hold on him, and bring him out unto the elders of his city, and unto the gate of his place;
20and they shall tell the elders of his city, “This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.”
20 I ma ne kwaara arkusey se: «Iri izo wo hanga ga sandi, murtante mo no. A si maa iri se. Laakal zaaro no gumo-gumo, a ga baji haŋ ka bugu mo.»
20and they shall say unto the elders of his city, This our son is stubborn and rebellious, he will not obey our voice; he is a glutton, and a drunkard.
21All the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones: so you shall put away the evil from the midst of you; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
21 Kal a kwaara alborey kulu m'a catu-catu nda tondiyaŋ hal a ma bu. Woodin teeyaŋ gaa no araŋ ga laala kaa d'a araŋ game ra. Israyla kulu mo ga maa baaro ka humburu.
21And all the men of his city shall stone him to death with stones: so shalt thou put away the evil from the midst of thee; and all Israel shall hear, and fear.
22If a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be put to death, and you hang him on a tree;
22 Da boro fo na zunubi te kaŋ to buuyaŋ, da ciiti n'a wi mo, hal i n'a sarku tuuri-nya gaa,
22And if a man have committed a sin worthy of death, and he be put to death, and thou hang him on a tree;
23his body shall not remain all night on the tree, but you shall surely bury him the same day; for he who is hanged is accursed of God; that you don’t defile your land which Yahweh your God gives you for an inheritance.

23his body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou shalt surely bury him the same day; for he that is hanged is accursed of God; that thou defile not thy land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee for an inheritance.
