Deuteronomy

29

1These are the words of the covenant which Yahweh commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.
1 Sappa kaŋ Rabbi ye ka Musa lordi nd'a a ma kayandi nga nda Israyla izey game ra, waato kaŋ i go Mowab laabo ra, a sanney neeya: (Woone wo ga waana sappa kaŋ a jin ka te nd'ey yongo Horeb tondo cire.)
1These are the words of the covenant which Jehovah commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, besides the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.
2Moses called to all Israel, and said to them, You have seen all that Yahweh did before your eyes in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land;
2And Moses called unto all Israel, and said unto them, Ye have seen all that Jehovah did before your eyes in the land of Egypt unto Pharaoh, and unto all his servants, and unto all his land;
3the great trials which your eyes saw, the signs, and those great wonders:
3 Araŋ moy di mo siyaŋ bambatey da alaamey da dambara goy bambatey din.
3the great trials which thine eyes saw, the signs, and those great wonders:
4but Yahweh has not given you a heart to know, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, to this day.
4 Amma hala hõ Rabbi mana araŋ no bine kaŋ ga bay, wala moy kaŋ ga di, wala hanga kaŋ ga maa.
4but Jehovah hath not given you a heart to know, and eyes to see, and ears to hear, unto this day.
5I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes have not grown old on you, and your shoes have not grown old on your feet.
5 Jiiri waytaaci no ay n'araŋ candi saajo ra. Araŋ bankaaray mana zeen araŋ gaahamey gaa, ni taamey mo mana zeen ni cey gaa.
5And I have led you forty years in the wilderness: your clothes are not waxed old upon you, and thy shoe is not waxed old upon thy foot.
6You have not eaten bread, neither have you drunk wine or strong drink; that you may know that I am Yahweh your God.
6 Araŋ mana buuru ŋwa, araŋ mana duvan* wala baji dumi kulu haŋ mo, zama araŋ ma bay kaŋ ay ya Rabbi araŋ Irikoyo no.
6Ye have not eaten bread, neither have ye drunk wine or strong drink; that ye may know that I am Jehovah your God.
7When you came to this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us to battle, and we struck them:
7 Waato kaŋ araŋ to neewo mo, Hesbon bonkoono Sihon da Basan bonkoono Og fatta ka wongu nda iri. Iri n'i zeeri mo.
7And when ye came unto this place, Sihon the king of Heshbon, and Og the king of Bashan, came out against us unto battle, and we smote them:
8and we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance to the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of the Manassites.
8and we took their land, and gave it for an inheritance unto the Reubenites, and to the Gadites, and to the half-tribe of the Manassites.
9Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that you may prosper in all that you do.
9Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.
10You stand this day all of you before Yahweh your God; your heads, your tribes, your elders, and your officers, even all the men of Israel,
10 Hunkuna araŋ boro fo kulu go ga kay Rabbi araŋ Irikoyo jine, kaŋ yaŋ ga ti: araŋ jine borey, d'araŋ kundey, d'araŋ arkusey, d'araŋ wongu nyaŋey, da Israyla alborey kulu,
10Ye stand this day all of you before Jehovah your God; your heads, your tribes, your elders, and your officers, even all the men of Israel,
11your little ones, your wives, and your foreigner who is in the midst of your camps, from the one who cuts your wood to the one who draws your water;
11your little ones, your wives, and thy sojourner that is in the midst of thy camps, from the hewer of thy wood unto the drawer of thy water;
12that you may enter into the covenant of Yahweh your God, and into his oath, which Yahweh your God makes with you this day;
12that thou mayest enter into the covenant of Jehovah thy God, and into his oath, which Jehovah thy God maketh with thee this day;
13that he may establish you this day to himself for a people, and that he may be to you a God, as he spoke to you, and as he swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
13that he may establish thee this day unto himself for a people, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he spake unto thee, and as he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.
14Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath,
14Neither with you only do I make this covenant and this oath,
15but with him who stands here with us this day before Yahweh our God, and also with him who is not here with us this day
15 amma da zamana kaŋ ga kaa izey, kaŋ yaŋ si ne iri banda hunkuna, ngey nd'araŋ kulu, araŋ kaŋ yaŋ go ga kay ne Rabbi iri Irikoyo jine.
15but with him that standeth here with us this day before Jehovah our God, and also with him that is not here with us this day
16(for you know how we lived in the land of Egypt, and how we came through the midst of the nations through which you passed;
16 Zama araŋ bay mate kaŋ iri goro Misira laabo ra, da mate kaŋ iri fatta nd'a mo noodin dumi waani-waaney game ra, kaŋ ra araŋ bisa.
16(for ye know how we dwelt in the land of Egypt, and how we came through the midst of the nations through which ye passed;
17and you have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them);
17 Araŋ di i fanta harey mo, kaŋ yaŋ ga ti i toorey, bundu nda tondi waney, da nzarfu nda wura waney, kaŋ yaŋ go i do.
17and ye have seen their abominations, and their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which were among them);
18lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turns away this day from Yahweh our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations; lest there should be among you a root that bears gall and wormwood;
18lest there should be among you man, or woman, or family, or tribe, whose heart turneth away this day from Jehovah our God, to go to serve the gods of those nations; lest there should be among you a root that beareth gall and wormwood;
19and it happen, when he hears the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, “I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to destroy the moist with the dry.”
19 A ma si ciya, da bora din ga maa laaliyaŋ wo sanney, a ma nga boŋ saabu nga bina ra ka ne: «Ay ga goro baani, baa ay ga soobay k'ay hanga sanday fonda gana.» Zama woodin ga kande halaciyaŋ laabo ra, itayo nda ikogo kulu gaa.
19and it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the stubbornness of my heart, to destroy the moist with the dry.
20Yahweh will not pardon him, but then the anger of Yahweh and his jealousy will smoke against that man, and all the curse that is written in this book shall lie on him, and Yahweh will blot out his name from under the sky.
20 Rabbi si bora din dumi yaafa hal abada, amma Rabbi dukuro d'a cansa ga dungu hala nda dullu bora din boŋ. A ga laaliyaŋ kulu kaŋ i hantum tira wo ra mo dake a boŋ. Rabbi g'a maa tuusu mo beeno wo cire.
20Jehovah will not pardon him, but then the anger of Jehovah and his jealousy will smoke against that man, and all the curse that is written in this book shall lie upon him, and Jehovah will blot out his name from under heaven.
21Yahweh will set him apart to evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that is written in this book of the law.
21 Rabbi g'a fay waani Israyla kundey kulu ra k'a laali, laaliyaŋ kulu kaŋ i hantum asariya tira wo ra boŋ.
21And Jehovah will set him apart unto evil out of all the tribes of Israel, according to all the curses of the covenant that is written in this book of the law.
22The generation to come, your children who shall rise up after you, and the foreigner who shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses with which Yahweh has made it sick;
22 Zamana kaŋ ga kaa ra mo, araŋ izey ga tun araŋ banda, da yaw kaŋ ga kaa ka fun hala nangu mooro laabu fo ra, waato kaŋ i ga di araŋ balaawey da doorey mo kaŋ yaŋ Rabbi ga daŋ a ra.
22And the generation to come, your children that shall rise up after you, and the foreigner that shall come from a far land, shall say, when they see the plagues of that land, and the sicknesses wherewith Jehovah hath made it sick;
23and that the whole land of it is sulfur, salt, and burning, that it is not sown, nor bears, nor any grass grows therein, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Yahweh overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
23 I ga di laabo kulu te sufar* da ciiri, da tonyaŋ, mate kaŋ i s'a duma, a si hay, wala baa subu si te a ra. A ga hima mo danga Saduma nda Gomorata nda Adma nda Zeboyim zeeriyaŋ, kwaarey kaŋ yaŋ Rabbi zeeri nga dukuro nda nga futa ra.
23[and that] the whole land thereof is brimstone, and salt, [and] a burning, [that] it is not sown, nor beareth, nor any grass groweth therein, like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboiim, which Jehovah overthrew in his anger, and in his wrath:
24even all the nations shall say, “Why has Yahweh done thus to this land? What does the heat of this great anger mean?”
24even all the nations shall say, Wherefore hath Jehovah done thus unto this land? what meaneth the heat of this great anger?
25Then men shall say, “Because they forsook the covenant of Yahweh, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt,
25 Kala borey ma tu ka ne: «Zama i na Rabbi i kaayey Irikoyo sappa furu, wo kaŋ a te d'ey waato kaŋ a kand'ey i ma fun Misira laabo ra.
25Then men shall say, Because they forsook the covenant of Jehovah, the God of their fathers, which he made with them when he brought them forth out of the land of Egypt,
26and went and served other gods, and worshiped them, gods that they didn’t know, and that he had not given to them:
26 I koy mo ka may de-koy waani yaŋ se ka sududu i se, wo kaŋ yaŋ i man'i bay doŋ, kaŋ Rabbi mana waadu i se.
26and went and served other gods, and worshipped them, gods that they knew not, and that he had not given unto them:
27therefore the anger of Yahweh was kindled against this land, to bring on it all the curse that is written in this book;
27 Woodin sabbay se no Rabbi futa soobay ka ton laabo wo ra, ka kande a boŋ laaliyaŋ kulu kaŋ go hantumante tira wo ra.
27therefore the anger of Jehovah was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curse that is written in this book;
28and Yahweh rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as at this day.”
28 Rabbi n'i dagu mo k'i kaa ngey laabo ra, a futa, d'a bine tuna, d'a dukuri bambata sabbay se. A n'i furu laabu fo ra mo, mate kaŋ a go d'a hunkuna.»
28and Jehovah rooted them out of their land in anger, and in wrath, and in great indignation, and cast them into another land, as at this day.
29The secret things belong to Yahweh our God; but the things that are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law.
29 Gundu harey kulu ya Rabbi iri Irikoyo wane yaŋ no. Amma hayey kaŋ a bangandi, iri nda iri izey wane yaŋ no hal abada, zama iri ma asariya wo sanney kulu toonandi.
29The secret things belong unto Jehovah our God; but the things that are revealed belong unto us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
