Deuteronomy

7

1When Yahweh your God shall bring you into the land where you go to possess it, and shall cast out many nations before you, the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, seven nations greater and mightier than you;
A ga dumi boobo haabu ni jine, kaŋ yaŋ ga ti Hittancey, da Jirgasancey, da Amorancey, da Kanaanancey, da Perizancey, da Hibancey, da Yebusancey -- dumi iyye no kaŋ i beera d'i gaabo bisa ni wano.
1When Jehovah thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and shall cast out many nations before thee, the Hittite, and the Girgashite, and the Amorite, and the Canaanite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;
2and when Yahweh your God shall deliver them up before you, and you shall strike them; then you shall utterly destroy them: you shall make no covenant with them, nor show mercy to them;
2 Rabbi ni Irikoyo g'i daŋ ni kambe ra mo, ni m'i kar, kala ni m'i mallaka parkatak! Da ni na woodin te, ni ma si sappe nd'ey, ni ma si suuji cabe i se,
2and when Jehovah thy God shall deliver them up before thee, and thou shalt smite them; then thou shalt utterly destroy them: thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor show mercy unto them;
3neither shall you make marriages with them; your daughter you shall not give to his son, nor shall you take his daughter for your son.
3 ni ma si hiiji i gaa mo. Danga, ni ma si ni ize way no i ize aru se, wala ni ma si i ize way sambu ni ize aru se.
3neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.
4For he will turn away your son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so the anger of Yahweh would be kindled against you, and he would destroy you quickly.
4 Zama da ni te yaadin, kulu i ga ni ize arey bare, i ma s'ay gana koyne. Amma i ma may de-koy waani yaŋ se.
4For he will turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of Jehovah be kindled against you, and he will destroy thee quickly.
5But you shall deal with them like this: you shall break down their altars, and dash their pillars in pieces, and cut down their Asherim, and burn their engraved images with fire.
5 Amma haŋ kaŋ araŋ ga te i se neeya: araŋ m'i sargay* feemey bagu-bagu, k'i tondi ganjey pati-pati, k'i wayboro himandi bundu toorey beeri, k'i tooru jabantey ton danji ra.
5But thus shall ye deal with them: ye shall break down their altars, and dash in pieces their pillars, and hew down their Asherim, and burn their graven images with fire.
6For you are a holy people to Yahweh your God: Yahweh your God has chosen you to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples who are on the face of the earth.
6For thou art a holy people unto Jehovah thy God: Jehovah thy God hath chosen thee to be a people for his own possession, above all peoples that are upon the face of the earth.
7Yahweh didn’t set his love on you, nor choose you, because you were more in number than any people; for you were the fewest of all peoples:
7 Rabbi mana nga baakasina sinji araŋ gaa, wala a mana araŋ suuban mo zama se araŋ lasaabo baa ka bisa dumi kulu wano. Zama daahir, araŋ go boro ciraariyaŋ ka bisa dumi kulu.
7Jehovah did not set his love upon you, nor choose you, because ye were more in number than any people; for ye were the fewest of all peoples:
8but because Yahweh loves you, and because he would keep the oath which he swore to your fathers, has Yahweh brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
8 Amma Rabbi n'araŋ suuban zama a ga ba araŋ no. A ga ba mo nga ma zeyaŋo kaŋ nga ze d'a araŋ kaayey se din toonandi. A se mo Rabbi n'araŋ kaa taray da kambe gaabikooni k'araŋ fansa tamtaray windo ra, araŋ ma fun Misira bonkoono Firawna kambe ra.
8but because Jehovah loveth you, and because he would keep the oath which he sware unto your fathers, hath Jehovah brought you out with a mighty hand, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.
9Know therefore that Yahweh your God, he is God, the faithful God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness with them who love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations,
9 Yaadin gaa binde, ma bay kaŋ Rabbi ni Irikoyo ya Irikoy no, Irikoy naanaykoy no. Borey kaŋ ga ba r'a se, kaŋ yaŋ g'a lordey gana mo, a ga alkawli nda baakasinay suuji toonandi i se hala zamana zambar fo.
9Know therefore that Jehovah thy God, he is God, the faithful God, who keepeth covenant and lovingkindness with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations,
10and repays those who hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him who hates him, he will repay him to his face.
10 Amma borey kaŋ yaŋ ga konn'a, a g'i bana i jine k'i halaci. Boro kaŋ wang'a mo, a s'a suuru, amma a ga ye k'a bana a jine.
10and repayeth them that hate him to their face, to destroy them: he will not be slack to him that hateth him, he will repay him to his face.
11You shall therefore keep the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which I command you this day, to do them.
Araŋ m'i goy te mo.
11Thou shalt therefore keep the commandment, and the statutes, and the ordinances, which I command thee this day, to do them.
12It shall happen, because you listen to these ordinances, and keep and do them, that Yahweh your God will keep with you the covenant and the loving kindness which he swore to your fathers:
12 A ga te ka ciya mo, za kaŋ ni hangan farilley din se k'i haggoy, k'i te mo, Rabbi ni Irikoyo ga alkawlo nda baakasinay suujo toonandi ni se, kaŋ a ze d'a ni kaayey se din.
12And it shall come to pass, because ye hearken to these ordinances, and keep and do them, that Jehovah thy God will keep with thee the covenant and the lovingkindness which he sware unto thy fathers:
13and he will love you, and bless you, and multiply you; he will also bless the fruit of your body and the fruit of your ground, your grain and your new wine and your oil, the increase of your livestock and the young of your flock, in the land which he swore to your fathers to give you.
13and he will love thee, and bless thee, and multiply thee; he will also bless the fruit of thy body and the fruit of thy ground, thy grain and thy new wine and thine oil, the increase of thy cattle and the young of thy flock, in the land which he sware unto thy fathers to give thee.
14You shall be blessed above all peoples: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your livestock.
I si gunu kulu gar araŋ game ra, alboro wala wayboro wala mo araŋ almaney ra.
14Thou shalt be blessed above all peoples: there shall not be male or female barren among you, or among your cattle.
15Yahweh will take away from you all sickness; and none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which you know, he will put on you, but will lay them on all those who hate you.
15 Rabbi ga jante kulu kaa araŋ game ra mo. Misira doori laaley kaŋ yaŋ ni ga bay, a si baa afo daŋ ni gaa, amma a g'i daŋ ni konnakoy kulu gaa.
15And Jehovah will take away from thee all sickness; and none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, will he put upon thee, but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.
16You shall consume all the peoples whom Yahweh your God shall deliver to you; your eye shall not pity them: neither shall you serve their gods; for that will be a snare to you.
16 Dumey kulu kaŋ Rabbi ni Irikoyo ga daŋ ni kambe ra mo, ni m'i halaci parkatak! Ni mwa ma si bakar i se bo. Ni ma si may i toorey se, zama woodin ga ciya ni se hirrimi.
16And thou shalt consume all the peoples that Jehovah thy God shall deliver unto thee; thine eye shall not pity them: neither shalt thou serve their gods; for that will be a snare unto thee.
17If you shall say in your heart, “These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?”
Mate n'ay ga te k'i ŋwa?»
17If thou shalt say in thy heart, These nations are more than I; how can I dispossess them?
18you shall not be afraid of them: you shall well remember what Yahweh your God did to Pharaoh, and to all Egypt;
18thou shalt not be afraid of them: thou shalt well remember what Jehovah thy God did unto Pharaoh, and unto all Egypt;
19the great trials which your eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, by which Yahweh your God brought you out: so shall Yahweh your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid.
19the great trials which thine eyes saw, and the signs, and the wonders, and the mighty hand, and the outstretched arm, whereby Jehovah thy God brought thee out: so shall Jehovah thy God do unto all the peoples of whom thou art afraid.
20Moreover Yahweh your God will send the hornet among them, until those who are left, and hide themselves, perish from before you.
20 Woodin banda mo, Rabbi ni Irikoyo ga cebeeri-hawlandi samba i game ra, hala borey kaŋ yaŋ cindi i ra, kaŋ tugu ni se, ngey mo ma halaci.
20Moreover Jehovah thy God will send the hornet among them, until they that are left, and hide themselves, perish from before thee.
21You shall not be scared of them; for Yahweh your God is in the midst of you, a great and awesome God.
21 Ni ma si joote i sabbay se, zama Rabbi ni Irikoyo go ni banda, Irikoy beeri no kaŋ ga humburandi.
21Thou shalt not be affrighted at them; for Jehovah thy God is in the midst of thee, a great God and a terrible.
22Yahweh your God will cast out those nations before you by little and little: you may not consume them at once, lest the animals of the field increase on you.
22And Jehovah thy God will cast out those nations before thee by little and little: thou mayest not consume them at once, lest the beasts of the field increase upon thee.
23But Yahweh your God will deliver them up before you, and will confuse them with a great confusion, until they be destroyed.
23 Amma Rabbi ni Irikoyo g'i nooyandi ni jine.
23But Jehovah thy God will deliver them up before thee, and will discomfit them with a great discomfiture, until they be destroyed.
24He will deliver their kings into your hand, and you shall make their name to perish from under the sky: no man shall be able to stand before you, until you have destroyed them.
24 A g'i bonkooney mo daŋ ni kambe ra. Ni g'i maa tuusu hal i baaro ma daray beeno wo cire. Boro fo kulu si du ka kay ni jine mo, kala ni m'i halaci ka ban.
24And he will deliver their kings into thy hand, and thou shalt make their name to perish from under heaven: there shall no man be able to stand before thee, until thou have destroyed them.
25You shall burn the engraved images of their gods with fire. You shall not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it for yourself, lest you be snared in it; for it is an abomination to Yahweh your God.
25 I himandi jabante toorey mo, ni m'i ton danji ra.
25The graven images of their gods shall ye burn with fire: thou shalt not covet the silver or the gold that is on them, nor take it unto thee, lest thou be snared therein; for it is an abomination to Jehovah thy God.
26You shall not bring an abomination into your house, and become a devoted thing like it. You shall utterly detest it, and you shall utterly abhor it; for it is a devoted thing.
Ni ma dond'a gumo, ni m'a fanta mo, zama hari laalante no.
26And thou shalt not bring an abomination into thy house, and become a devoted thing like unto it: thou shalt utterly detest it, and thou shalt utterly abhor it; for it is a devoted thing.
