4And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee. That thou mayest inherit the land of thy sojournings, which God gave unto Abraham.
5Isaac sent Jacob away. He went to Paddan Aram to Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, Rebekah’s brother, Jacob’s and Esau’s mother.

5And Isaac sent away Jacob. And he went to Paddan-aram unto Laban, son of Bethuel the Syrian, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother.
6Now Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Paddan Aram, to take him a wife from there, and that as he blessed him he gave him a command, saying, “You shall not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan,”
6Now Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Paddan-aram, to take him a wife from thence. And that as he blessed him he gave him a charge, saying, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan.
7and that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Paddan Aram.
7And that Jacob obeyed his father and his mother, and was gone to Paddan-aram.
8Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan didn’t please Isaac, his father.
8And Esau saw that the daughters of Canaan pleased not Isaac his father.
9Esau went to Ishmael, and took, besides the wives that he had, Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael, Abraham’s son, the sister of Nebaioth, to be his wife.
Mahalata no ga ti a maa, Isumeyla Ibrahim izo ize way no, Nebayot wayme no.
9And Esau went unto Ishmael, and took, besides the wives that he had, Mahalath the daughter of Ishmael Abraham's son, the sister of Nebaioth, to be his wife.
10Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran.
10 Yakuba fun Beyer-Seba ka Haran fonda di.
10And Jacob went out from Beer-sheba, and went toward Haran.
11He came to a certain place, and stayed there all night, because the sun had set. He took one of the stones of the place, and put it under his head, and lay down in that place to sleep.
11 A to nangu fo ka kani cin, zama wayna kaŋ a gaa. A na tondi fo sambu noodin k'a jisi ka te boŋ-dake. A kani noodin ka jirbi.
11And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set. And he took one of the stones of the place, and put it under his head, and lay down in that place to sleep.
12He dreamed. Behold, a stairway set upon the earth, and its top reached to heaven. Behold, the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
12 A na hindiri fo te kaŋ ra a di kaarimi hari kaŋ ganda go laabo boŋ, boŋo koy ka tuku hala beena gaa. A go, Irikoy malaykayaŋ go ga kaaru ka zumbu kaarimi haro din boŋ.
12And he dreamed. And behold, a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven. And behold, the angels of God ascending and descending on it.
13Behold, Yahweh stood above it, and said, “I am Yahweh, the God of Abraham your father, and the God of Isaac. The land whereon you lie, to you will I give it, and to your seed.
13 Rabbi mo go ga kay kaarimi haro se beene ka ne: «Ay no Rabbi, ni baabey Ibrahim da Isaka Irikoyo. Laabo kaŋ boŋ ni goono ga kani, ay g'a no ni se, nin da ni banda kulu.
13And, behold, Jehovah stood above it, and said, I am Jehovah, the God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac. The land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed.
14Your seed will be as the dust of the earth, and you will spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. In you and in your seed will all the families of the earth be blessed.
14 Ni banda ga baa danga laabu gurayze cine. Ni ga yandi wayna kaŋay da wayna funay, azawa da dandi kambe haray laabo wo boŋ. Ni do mo, da ni banda bora do no i ga ndunnya dumey kulu albarkandi.
14And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south. And in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed.
15Behold, I am with you, and will keep you, wherever you go, and will bring you again into this land. For I will not leave you, until I have done that which I have spoken of to you.”
15And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee, whithersoever thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land. For I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of.
16Jacob awakened out of his sleep, and he said, “Surely Yahweh is in this place, and I didn’t know it.”
16 Yakuba tun jirbo gaa ka ne: «A sinda sikka, Rabbi go batamo wo ra, ay mo mana bay a gaa.»
16And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely Jehovah is in this place. And I knew it not.
17He was afraid, and said, “How dreadful is this place! This is none other than God’s house, and this is the gate of heaven.”
17 A humburu mo ka ne: «Batamo wo ga humburandi. Neewo sikka si Irikoy fuwo no, neewo no ga ti beene meyo.»
17And he was afraid, and said, How dreadful is this place! This is none other than the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.
18Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put under his head, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil on its top.
18 Yakuba tun za susubay da hinay. A na tondo kaŋ a te boŋ-dake cino ra din sambu k'a kayandi ka ji soogu a boŋ.
18And Jacob rose up early in the morning, and took the stone that he had put under his head, and set it up for a pillar, and poured oil upon the top of it.
19He called the name of that place Bethel, but the name of the city was Luz at the first.
19 A na nango din maa daŋ Betel, amma za doŋ kwaara maa ga ti Luz.
19And he called the name of that place Beth-el. But the name of the city was Luz at the first.
20Jacob vowed a vow, saying, “If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and clothing to put on,
20 Kala Yakuba ze ka ne: «Da Irikoy goro ay banda, d'a haggoy d'ay ay naaruyaŋo wo fonda ra, d'a n'ay no ŋwaari kaŋ ga ŋwa da bankaaray k'ay ga daabu nd'a,
20And Jacob vowed a vow, saying, If God will be with me, and will keep me in this way that I go, and will give me bread to eat, and raiment to put on,
21so that I come again to my father’s house in peace, and Yahweh will be my God,
21so that I come again to my father's house in peace, and Jehovah will be my God,
22then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, will be God’s house. Of all that you will give me I will surely give the tenth to you.”
22then this stone, which I have set up for a pillar, shall be God's house. And of all that thou shalt give me I will surely give the tenth unto thee.
