Genesis

47

1Then Joseph went in and told Pharaoh, and said, “My father and my brothers, with their flocks, their herds, and all that they own, have come out of the land of Canaan; and behold, they are in the land of Goshen.”
1 Waato din gaa Yusufu furo ka salaŋ Firawna se ka ne: «Ay baaba d'ay nya-izey d'i haw kurey d'i feejey da hay kulu kaŋ go i se kaa ka fun Kanaana laabu. A go mo, i to Gosen laabu.»
1Then Joseph went in and told Pharaoh, and said, My father and my brethren, and their flocks, and their herds, and all that they have, are come out of the land of Canaan; and, behold, they are in the land of Goshen.
2From among his brothers he took five men, and presented them to Pharaoh.
2 A na boro gu kaa mo nga nya-izey ra, k'i cabe Firawna se.
2And from among his brethren he took five men, and presented them unto Pharaoh.
3Pharaoh said to his brothers, “What is your occupation?” They said to Pharaoh, “Your servants are shepherds, both we, and our fathers.”
I ne Firawna se: «Ni bannyey wo hawjiyaŋ no, iri nda iri kaayey.»
3And Pharaoh said unto his brethren, What is your occupation? And they said unto Pharaoh, Thy servants are shepherds, both we, and our fathers.
4They said to Pharaoh, “We have come to live as foreigners in the land, for there is no pasture for your servants’ flocks. For the famine is severe in the land of Canaan. Now therefore, please let your servants dwell in the land of Goshen.”
4And they said unto Pharaoh, To sojourn in the land are we come; for there is no pasture for thy servants' flocks; for the famine is sore in the land of Canaan: now therefore, we pray thee, let thy servants dwell in the land of Goshen.
5Pharaoh spoke to Joseph, saying, “Your father and your brothers have come to you.
5And Pharaoh spake unto Joseph, saying, Thy father and thy brethren are come unto thee:
6The land of Egypt is before you. Make your father and your brothers dwell in the best of the land. Let them dwell in the land of Goshen. If you know any able men among them, then put them in charge of my livestock.”
6 Misira laabo go ni jine. Da mo ni bay himmanteyaŋ go i ra, m'i daŋ i m'ay almaney kuru.»
6the land of Egypt is before thee; in the best of the land make thy father and thy brethren to dwell; in the land of Goshen let them dwell: and if thou knowest any able men among them, then make them rulers over my cattle.
7Joseph brought in Jacob, his father, and set him before Pharaoh, and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.
7And Joseph brought in Jacob his father, and set him before Pharaoh: and Jacob blessed Pharaoh.
8Pharaoh said to Jacob, “How many are the days of the years of your life?”
8 Firawna ne Yakuba se: «Ni fundo jirbey jiiri marge no?»
8And Pharaoh said unto Jacob, How many are the days of the years of thy life?
9Jacob said to Pharaoh, “The days of the years of my pilgrimage are one hundred thirty years. Few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained to the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.”
9 Yakuba ne Firawna se: «Ay yawtaray jirbey jiirey, jiiri zangu nda waranza no. Ay fundo jiirey jirbey ikaynayaŋ no, ilaaloyaŋ mo no. I mana to ay kaayey fundey jirbey jiirey, i yawtaray jirbey kaŋ i te.»
9And Jacob said unto Pharaoh, The days of the years of my pilgrimage are a hundred and thirty years: few and evil have been the days of the years of my life, and they have not attained unto the days of the years of the life of my fathers in the days of their pilgrimage.
10Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from the presence of Pharaoh.
10 Yakuba na albarka gaara Firawna se. Waato din gaa no a fun Firawna jine.
10And Jacob blessed Pharaoh, and went out from the presence of Pharaoh.
11Joseph placed his father and his brothers, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded.
A na i no mo ngey boŋ nangu, jare hanno Misira laabo ra, Ramses kuray haray, danga mate kaŋ Firawna ci.
11And Joseph placed his father and his brethren, and gave them a possession in the land of Egypt, in the best of the land, in the land of Rameses, as Pharaoh had commanded.
12Joseph nourished his father, his brothers, and all of his father’s household, with bread, according to their families.
12 Yusufu mo na nga baabo ŋwaayandi, nga nda nga nya-izey d'a baabo almayaaley kulu, k'i no ŋwaari ngey windey kulu boŋ.
12And Joseph nourished his father, and his brethren, and all his father's household, with bread, according to their families.
13There was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very severe, so that the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine.
13And there was no bread in all the land; for the famine was very sore, so that the land of Egypt and the land of Canaan fainted by reason of the famine.
14Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the grain which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh’s house.
14 Yusufu mo na noorey kulu kaŋ i du Misira laabo da Kanaana laabo ra margu-margu, ntaaso kaŋ i day wano. Yusufu konda nooro Firawna windo ra.
14And Joseph gathered up all the money that was found in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, for the grain which they bought: and Joseph brought the money into Pharaoh's house.
15When the money was all spent in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came to Joseph, and said, “Give us bread, for why should we die in your presence? For our money fails.”
15 Saaya kaŋ i na noorey kulu ban Misira laabo da Kanaana laabo ra, Misirancey kulu kaa Yusufu do ka ne: «Ni m'iri no ŋwaari, zama ifo se no iri ga bu ni jine, zama iri noorey ban?»
15And when the money was all spent in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? for [our] money faileth.
16Joseph said, “Give me your livestock; and I will give you food for your livestock, if your money is gone.”
16 Yusufu ne: «Wa kande araŋ almaney ka no. Ay g'araŋ no araŋ almaney wane, da noorey ban.»
16And Joseph said, Give your cattle; and I will give you for your cattle, if money fail.
17They brought their livestock to Joseph, and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for the horses, and for the flocks, and for the herds, and for the donkeys: and he fed them with bread in exchange for all their livestock for that year.
17 I kande ngey almaney kulu Yusufu do. Yusufu mo n'i no ŋwaari bariyey da haw kurey da feejey da farkayey banandi. A n'i ŋwaayandi nda ŋwaari i almaney kulu banandi jiiro din ra.
17And they brought their cattle unto Joseph; and Joseph gave them bread in exchange for the horses, and for the flocks, and for the herds, and for the asses: and he fed them with bread in exchange for all their cattle for that year.
18When that year was ended, they came to him the second year, and said to him, “We will not hide from my lord how our money is all spent, and the herds of livestock are my lord’s. There is nothing left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands.
18 Waato kaŋ jiiro din bisa, i kaa a do koyne hiino jiiro ra ka ne a se: «Iri si tugu iri koyo se. Iri noorey kulu, da alman kurey mo ban. I ciya iri koyo wane yaŋ. Hay fo mana cindi iri koyo jine kala iri gaahamey da iri farey.
18And when that year was ended, they came unto him the second year, and said unto him, We will not hide from my lord, how that our money is all spent; and the herds of cattle are my lord's; there is nought left in the sight of my lord, but our bodies, and our lands:
19Why should we die before your eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants to Pharaoh. Give us seed, that we may live, and not die, and that the land won’t be desolate.”
Kala ni m'iri day da ŋwaari.
19wherefore should we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh: and give us seed, that we may live, and not die, and that the land be not desolate.
20So Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh, for every man of the Egyptians sold his field, because the famine was severe on them, and the land became Pharaoh’s.
20 Yusufu mo na Misira laabo kulu day Firawna se. Mate kaŋ a go, Misirancey kulu na ngey farey neera, zama hara kankam gumo, laabo mo ciya Firawna wane.
20So Joseph bought all the land of Egypt for Pharaoh; for the Egyptians sold every man his field, because the famine was sore upon them: and the land became Pharaoh's.
21As for the people, he moved them to the cities from one end of the border of Egypt even to the other end of it.
21 Amma za Misira hirri woone gaa ka koy ya-haray hirro gaa, a na talkey tunandi k'i daŋ kwaara beerey ra.
21And as for the people, he removed them to the cities from one end of the border of Egypt even to the other end thereof.
22Only he didn’t buy the land of the priests, for the priests had a portion from Pharaoh, and ate their portion which Pharaoh gave them. That is why they didn’t sell their land.
22 Kala alfagey farey hinne no a mana day, zama ngey wo, alfagey gonda ngey baa kaŋ Firawna g'i no. I ga ngey baa ŋwa mo, wo kaŋ Firawna g'i no. Woodin se no i mana ngey farey neera.
22Only the land of the priests bought he not: for the priests had a portion from Pharaoh, and did eat their portion which Pharaoh gave them; wherefore they sold not their land.
23Then Joseph said to the people, “Behold, I have bought you and your land today for Pharaoh. Behold, here is seed for you, and you shall sow the land.
23Then Joseph said unto the people, Behold, I have bought you this day and your land for Pharaoh: lo, here is seed for you, and ye shall sow the land.
24It will happen at the harvests, that you shall give a fifth to Pharaoh, and four parts will be your own, for seed of the field, for your food, for them of your households, and for food for your little ones.”
24 A ga ciya mo, heemar waate kulu igu kulu ra araŋ ga kanandi fo no Firawna se, kanandi taaca mo ga goro araŋ wane. Araŋ bumbey wane no fari dum'izey se d'araŋ ŋwaari se d'araŋ almaney wane, d'araŋ ize kayney wane.»
24And it shall come to pass at the ingatherings, that ye shall give a fifth unto Pharaoh, and four parts shall be your own, for seed of the field, and for your food, and for them of your households, and for food for your little ones.
25They said, “You have saved our lives! Let us find favor in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s servants.”
25 I ne: «Ni n'iri fundey faaba. Naŋ iri ma du gaakuri bonkoono do, iri mo, iri ga ciya Firawna bannyayaŋ.»
25And they said, Thou hast saved our lives: let us find favor in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh's servants.
26Joseph made it a statute concerning the land of Egypt to this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth. Only the land of the priests alone didn’t become Pharaoh’s.
26 Yusufu mo na sanni woodin daŋ. A goro mo hala hunkuna Misira laabo ra, Firawna ma du igu ra kanandi fo. Kala alfagey farey hinne no, manti Firawna wane.
26And Joseph made it a statute concerning the land of Egypt unto this day, that Pharaoh should have the fifth; only the land of the priests alone became not Pharaoh's.
27Israel lived in the land of Egypt, in the land of Goshen; and they got themselves possessions therein, and were fruitful, and multiplied exceedingly.
27 Israyla goro Misira Gosen laabo ra. I du mayray hari a ra, i na ize boobo hay ka baa ka tonton.
27And Israel dwelt in the land of Egypt, in the land of Goshen; and they gat them possessions therein, and were fruitful, and multiplied exceedingly.
28Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years. So the days of Jacob, the years of his life, were one hundred forty-seven years.
28 Yakuba binde goro Misira laabo ra jiiri way cindi iyye. Yaadin gaa no Yakuba fundo jirbey jiirey to jiiri zangu nda waytaaci cindi iyye.
28And Jacob lived in the land of Egypt seventeen years: so the days of Jacob, the years of his life, were a hundred forty and seven years.
29The time drew near that Israel must die, and he called his son Joseph, and said to him, “If now I have found favor in your sight, please put your hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me. Please don’t bury me in Egypt,
29 Alwaato maan mo kaŋ Israyla ga bu. A na nga izo Yusufu ce ka ne a se: «Da day ay du gaakuri ni do, ay ga ni ŋwaaray, ni ma ni kambe daŋ ay tanje cire. Ni ma gomni nda cimi goy te ay se, ma s'ay fiji Misira ra.
29And the time drew near that Israel must die: and he called his son Joseph, and said unto him, If now I have found favor in thy sight, put, I pray thee, thy hand under my thigh, and deal kindly and truly with me: bury me not, I pray thee, in Egypt;
30but when I sleep with my fathers, you shall carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their burying place.” He said, “I will do as you have said.”
30but when I sleep with my fathers, thou shalt carry me out of Egypt, and bury me in their burying-place. And he said, I will do as thou hast said.
31He said, “Swear to me,” and he swore to him. Israel bowed himself on the bed’s head.
31 Israyla ne: «Kala ni ma ze ay se.» Yusufu ze a se mo. Israyla mo gungum nga dima boŋo boŋ _ka sududu|_.
31And he said, Swear unto me: and he sware unto him. And Israel bowed himself upon the bed's head.
