Isaiah

33

1Woe to you who destroy, but you weren’t destroyed; and who betray, but nobody betrayed you! When you have finished destroying, you will be destroyed; and when you have made an end of betrayal, you will be betrayed.
1Woe to thee that destroyest, and thou wast not destroyed; and dealest treacherously, and they dealt not treacherously with thee! When thou hast ceased to destroy, thou shalt be destroyed; and when thou hast made an end of dealing treacherously, they shall deal treacherously with thee.
2Yahweh, be gracious to us. We have waited for you. Be our strength every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
Ma ciya iri gaabo susubay kulu, M'iri faaba taabi alwaati ra.
2O Jehovah, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou our arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
3At the noise of the thunder, the peoples have fled. When you lift yourself up, the nations are scattered.
3 Kosongo maayanta, kala dumey ga zuru, Ni beerandiyaŋo waate ndunnya dumey ga say-say.
3At the noise of the tumult the peoples are fled; at the lifting up of thyself the nations are scattered.
4Your spoil will be gathered as the caterpillar gathers. Men will leap on it as locusts leap.
4 Borey g'araŋ wongu arzaka haabu ka ku sanda mate kaŋ cine do-bi ga haabu ka bisa. Sanda mate kaŋ cine do ga sar, Yaadin cine no i go ga sar wongu arzaka boŋ.
4And your spoil shall be gathered as the caterpillar gathereth: as locusts leap shall men leap upon it.
5Yahweh is exalted, for he dwells on high. He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness.
5 Rabbi ga beeri zama beene no a go da goray. A ga Sihiyona toonandi nda cimi ciiti da adilitaray.
5Jehovah is exalted; for he dwelleth on high: he hath filled Zion with justice and righteousness.
6There will be stability in your times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge. The fear of Yahweh is your treasure.
6 Ni zamana ra no a ga ciya tabbatandiyaŋ hari, Da faaba nda laakal da bayray yulwante, Rabbi humburkumay mo ga ciya jama arzaka.
6And there shall be stability in thy times, abundance of salvation, wisdom, and knowledge: the fear of Jehovah is thy treasure.
7Behold, their valiant ones cry outside; the ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.
7 Guna, Assiriya wongaari beerey go kwaara fondey ra ga hẽ. Diyey kaŋ yaŋ goono ga amaana ceeci go ga hẽeni korno te.
7Behold, their valiant ones cry without; the ambassadors of peace weep bitterly.
8The highways are desolate. The traveling man ceases. The covenant is broken. He has despised the cities. He doesn’t respect man.
8 Fondo beerey goono ga goro koonu, dirakoy ban, Ibare na sappa feeri, A donda gallu beerey, a mana boro saal.
8The highways lie waste, the wayfaring man ceaseth: [the enemy] hath broken the covenant, he hath despised the cities, he regardeth not man.
9The land mourns and languishes. Lebanon is confounded and withers away. Sharon is like a desert, and Bashan and Carmel are stripped bare.
9 Laabo goono ga te bine saray, A goono ga lakaw. Liban mo, haawi n'a di, a go ga yangala. Saruna te sanda taasi beero batama cine. Basan da Karmel na ngey kobtey kokobe.
9The land mourneth and languisheth; Lebanon is confounded and withereth away; Sharon is like a desert; and Bashan and Carmel shake off [their leaves].
10“Now I will arise,” says Yahweh; “Now I will lift myself up. Now I will be exalted.
10Now will I arise, saith Jehovah; now will I lift up myself; now will I be exalted.
11You will conceive chaff. You will bring forth stubble. Your breath is a fire that will devour you.
11 Araŋ ga kun da du, araŋ ga buunu hay. Araŋ fulanzama ya danji no kaŋ g'araŋ ŋwa.
11Ye shall conceive chaff, ye shall bring forth stubble: your breath is a fire that shall devour you.
12The peoples will be like the burning of lime, like thorns that are cut down and burned in the fire.
12 Ndunnya dumey mo ga hima sanda kaaru kaŋ i ton, Sanda karjiyaŋ kaŋ borey beeri, Kaŋ yaŋ i ga ton da danji.»
12And the peoples shall be as the burnings of lime, as thorns cut down, that are burned in the fire.
13Hear, you who are far off, what I have done; and, you who are near, acknowledge my might.”
13 Ya araŋ kaŋ yaŋ ga mooru, Wa maa haŋ kaŋ ay te. Ya araŋ mo kaŋ yaŋ ga maan, w'ay hino seeda.
13Hear, ye that are far off, what I have done; and, ye that are near, acknowledge my might.
14The sinners in Zion are afraid. Trembling has seized the godless ones. Who among us can live with the devouring fire? Who among us can live with everlasting burning?
14 Sihiyona ra zunubikooney goono ga humburu. Borey kaŋ wangu Irikoy goono ga jijiri, ka ne: «Iri ra may no ga hin ka goro danji kaŋ ga ŋwa banda? Iri ra may no ga hin ka goro tonyaŋo kaŋ ga duumi banda?»
14The sinners in Zion are afraid; trembling hath seized the godless ones: Who among us can dwell with the devouring fire? who among us can dwell with everlasting burnings?
15He who walks righteously, and speaks blamelessly; He who despises the gain of oppressions, who gestures with his hands, refusing to take a bribe, who stops his ears from hearing of blood, and shuts his eyes from looking at evil—
15 To, boro kaŋ goono ga dira adilitaray ra, Kaŋ ga cimi salaŋ mo.
15He that walketh righteously, and speaketh uprightly; he that despiseth the gain of oppressions, that shaketh his hands from taking a bribe, that stoppeth his ears from hearing of blood, and shutteth his eyes from looking upon evil:
16he will dwell on high. His place of defense will be the fortress of rocks. His bread will be supplied. His waters will be sure.
16 Nga no ga goro beeray nangu bambatey ra. A tuguyaŋo do mo tondey ra nangu gaabikooney no. A ga soobay ka du nga ŋwaaro, A haŋyaŋ haro mo tabbatante no.
16He shall dwell on high; his place of defence shall be the munitions of rocks; his bread shall be given [him]; his waters shall be sure.
17Your eyes will see the king in his beauty. They will see a distant land.
17 Ni moy ga Koyo guna nga booro ra, I ga laabo kaŋ ga mooru gumo fonnay mo.
17Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty: they shall behold a land that reacheth afar.
18Your heart will meditate on the terror. Where is he who counted? Where is he who weighed? Where is he who counted the towers?
18 Ni bina ga soobay ka humburkumay harey fintal ka ne: «Man n'a go, nga kaŋ ga lasaabu? Man gaa neesikwa? Man bora kaŋ na cinari kuukey kabu-kabu?»
18Thy heart shall muse on the terror: Where is he that counted, where is he that weighed [the tribute]? where is he that counted the towers?
19You will no longer see the fierce people, a people of a deep speech that you can’t comprehend, with a strange language that you can’t understand.
19Thou shalt not see the fierce people, a people of a deep speech that thou canst not comprehend, of a strange tongue that thou canst not understand.
20Look at Zion, the city of our appointed festivals. Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a quiet habitation, a tent that won’t be removed. Its stakes will never be plucked up, nor will any of its cords be broken.
20 Ma Sihiyona guna, iri jama batey gallo. Ni moy ga di Urusalima, laakal kanay kwaara, Kuuru-fu no kaŋ si gana. A kangayey si dagu hal abada, A korfey ra mo baa afolloŋ si pati.
20Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation, a tent that shall not be removed, the stakes whereof shall never be plucked up, neither shall any of the cords thereof be broken.
21But there Yahweh will be with us in majesty, a place of broad rivers and streams, in which no galley with oars will go, neither will any gallant ship pass by there.
21 Amma Rabbi ga goro iri banda noodin koytaray darza ra. A ga ciya iri se nangu kaŋ gonda isayaŋ da gooruyaŋ kaŋ ga tafay. Noodin hiyey kaŋ gonda kayyaŋ wala wongu hiyaŋ si bisa.
21But there Jehovah will be with us in majesty, a place of broad rivers and streams, wherein shall go no galley with oars, neither shall gallant ship pass thereby.
22For Yahweh is our judge. Yahweh is our lawgiver. Yahweh is our king. He will save us.
22 Zama Rabbi no ga ti iri ciitikwa, Rabbi no ga asariya no. Rabbi no ga ti iri Koyo, Nga no g'iri faaba.
22For Jehovah is our judge, Jehovah is our lawgiver, Jehovah is our king; he will save us.
23Your rigging is untied. They couldn’t strengthen the foot of their mast. They couldn’t spread the sail. Then the prey of a great spoil was divided. The lame took the prey.
23 Ni korfey yogol, Hal i si hin ka hiyo tuuri tiksa gaay a ma boori, I si hin ka hi zaarey feeri mo. Saaya din no borey ga wongu arzaka boobo fay, Baa fanakey ga wongu arzaka ku.
23Thy tacklings are loosed; they could not strengthen the foot of their mast, they could not spread the sail: then was the prey of a great spoil divided; the lame took the prey.
24The inhabitant won’t say, “I am sick.” The people who dwell therein will be forgiven their iniquity.
Borey kaŋ yaŋ goono ga goro noodin mo, I zunubey ga du yaafayaŋ.
24And the inhabitant shall not say, I am sick: the people that dwell therein shall be forgiven their iniquity.
