1“Comfort, comfort my people,” says your God.
1 Yaa no araŋ Irikoyo ci: W'ay jama bine yeenandi, wa i bine yeenandi.
1Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
2“Speak comfortably to Jerusalem; and call out to her that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she has received of Yahweh’s hand double for all her sins.”
2 Wa laakal kanay sanni te Urusalima se. W'a ce ka ne a se kaŋ a wongo ban, A taalo du yaafayaŋ. Zama a du nga zunubey kulu alhakko labu-care hinka Rabbi kambe ra.
2Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem; and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned, that she hath received of Jehovah's hand double for all her sins.
3The voice of one who calls out, “Prepare the way of Yahweh in the wilderness! Make a level highway in the desert for our God.
3 Boro fo kaŋ goono ga kuuwa jinda ne: «Wa Rabbi fonda soola ganjo ra! Wa daba fondo sasabandi taasi beerey boŋ iri Irikoyo se!
3The voice of one that crieth, Prepare ye in the wilderness the way of Jehovah; make level in the desert a highway for our God.
4Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low. The uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain.
4 Gooru kulu ga tun, Tondi kuukey da tudu kulu mo ga ye ganda. Isiirey ga ye ka kay sap! Zulli-zulley mo ga ye ka te banda folloŋ.
4Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; and the uneven shall be made level, and the rough places a plain:
5The glory of Yahweh shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.”
5 Rabbi darza ga bangay, Borey kulu mo ga di a care banda, Zama Rabbi meyo no ka woodin ci.»
5and the glory of Jehovah shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken it.
6The voice of one saying, “Cry!” One said, “What shall I cry?” “All flesh is like grass, and all its glory is like the flower of the field.
6 Jinde fo ne: «Ma fe!» A tu mo ka ne: «Ifo no ay ga fe ka ne? Adam-ize kulu ya subu no. A booro kulu mo danga saaji tuuri boosi cine no.»
6The voice of one saying, Cry. And one said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field.
7The grass withers, the flower fades, because Yahweh’s breath blows on it. Surely the people are like grass.
7 Subu ga koogu, booso mo ga kaŋ waati kaŋ Rabbi funsuyaŋo gana ka funsu a boŋ. Daahir borey ya subuyaŋ no.
7The grass withereth, the flower fadeth, because the breath of Jehovah bloweth upon it; surely the people is grass.
8The grass withers, the flower fades; but the word of our God stands forever.”
8 Subu ga koogu, booso mo ga kaŋ, Amma Irikoy sann'ize fo kulu ga duumi hal abada.
8The grass withereth, the flower fadeth; but the word of our God shall stand forever.
9You who tell good news to Zion, go up on a high mountain. You who tell good news to Jerusalem, lift up your voice with strength. Lift it up. Don’t be afraid. Say to the cities of Judah, “Behold, your God!”
9 Ya nin, Sihiyona, kaŋ goono ga kande baaru hanna, Ma kaaru yongo tondi kuuko boŋ. Ya nin, Urusalima, kaŋ goono ga kande baaru hanna, Ma ni jinda sambu da gaabi. M'a sambu, ma si humburu, ma ci Yahuda galley se ka ne: «Guna, araŋ Irikoyo neeya!»
9O thou that tellest good tidings to Zion, get thee up on a high mountain; O thou that tellest good tidings to Jerusalem, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold, your God!
10Behold, the Lord Yahweh will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him. Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.
10 Guna, Rabbi, Koy Beero ga kaa da hin, A kamba ga may nga boŋ se. A go, a alhakko go a banda, a banando mo g'a jin.
10Behold, the Lord Jehovah will come as a mighty one, and his arm will rule for him: Behold, his reward is with him, and his recompense before him.
11He will feed his flock like a shepherd. He will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom. He will gently lead those who have their young.
11 A ga nga kuro kuru sanda hawji. A ga feej'izey margu-margu nda nga kamba, A g'i sambu mo nga ganda ra. Laakal gaa mo no a ga wo kaŋ yaŋ goono ga naanandi boy.
11He will feed his flock like a shepherd, he will gather the lambs in his arm, and carry them in his bosom, [and] will gently lead those that have their young.
12Who has measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and marked off the sky with his span, and calculated the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
12 May no ka harey neesi nga kambe faata ra ka beena mo deedandi nda kambe gaaba? May no ka laabo margu zaka ra, ka tondi kuukey mo neesi tiŋay neesiyaŋ hari boŋ, ka tudey mo dake neesiyaŋ hari boŋ?
12Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
13Who has directed the Spirit of Yahweh, or has taught him as his counselor?
13 May no ka faham da Rabbi Biya, Wala may no ka ciya a saawarekasina hala bora m'a dondonandi?
13Who hath directed the Spirit of Jehovah, or being his counsellor hath taught him?
14Who did he take counsel with, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed him the way of understanding?
14 May gaa no a saaware, may mo no k'a bayrandi, K'a dondonandi cimi ciitey fonda ra, May no k'a dondonandi bayray, May mo no ka fahamay fonda cabe a se?
14With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of justice, and taught him knowledge, and showed to him the way of understanding?
15Behold, the nations are like a drop in a bucket, and are regarded as a speck of dust on a balance. Behold, he lifts up the islands like a very little thing.
15 A go, ndunnya dumey ga hima logo ra hari tolliyaŋ folloŋ, A g'i himandi mo sanda tiŋay neesiji boŋ kusa baano. A go, a ga gungey sambu danga hay fo kayna fo no.
15Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are accounted as the small dust of the balance: Behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
16Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor its animals sufficient for a burnt offering.
16 Abada Liban bumbo si wasa tonyaŋ, A almaney mo si wasa sargay kaŋ i ga ton se.
16And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt-offering.
17All the nations are like nothing before him. They are regarded by him as less than nothing, and vanity.
17 Ndunnya dumey kulu ga hima yaamo a jine, I si to hay kulu, furku mo no.
17All the nations are as nothing before him; they are accounted by him as less than nothing, and vanity.
18To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare to him?
18 May gaa no araŋ ga Irikoy kar? Man himandi kaŋ gaa araŋ g'a deedandi?
18To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?
19A workman has cast an image, and the goldsmith overlays it with gold, and casts silver chains for it.
19 Tooru jabante wo, goy-teeri no k'a jabu. Wura zam g'a daabu nda wura, Nzarfu zam mo ga nzarfu sisiri soogu a se.
19The image, a workman hath cast [it], and the goldsmith overlayeth it with gold, and casteth [for it] silver chains.
20He who is too impoverished for such an offering chooses a tree that will not rot. He seeks a skillful workman to set up an engraved image for him that will not be moved.
20 Boro mo kaŋ talka no hala a si hin ka sargay woodin dumi te, A ga tuuri kaŋ si fumbu suuban. A ga boro ceeci kaŋ ga goni goy gaa kaŋ ga tooru jabante kaŋ si zinji soola a se.
20He that is too impoverished for [such] an oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a skilful workman to set up a graven image, that shall not be moved.
21Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard, yet? Haven’t you been told from the beginning? Haven’t you understood from the foundations of the earth?
21 Araŋ mana bay bo? Araŋ mana maa mo? Wala boro kulu mana ci araŋ se za sintina no? Araŋ mana faham da ndunnya sinjiyaŋo?
21Have ye not known? have yet not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
22It is he who sits above the circle of the earth, and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers; who stretches out the heavens like a curtain, and spreads them out like a tent to dwell in;
22 Rabbi no goono ga goro ndunnya hirro boŋ, Ndunnya gorokoy mo ga hima do-ize yaŋ. Nga no ka beeney salle sanda daabuley, A g'i daaru sanda kuuru-fu cine k'i ciya goray nangu.
22[It is] he that sitteth above the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in;
23who brings princes to nothing; who makes the judges of the earth like meaningless.
23 Nga no ga koy beerey ciya yaamo, A ga ndunnya alkaaley mo ciya sanda i manti hay kulu.
23that bringeth princes to nothing; that maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.
24They are planted scarcely. They are sown scarcely. Their stock has scarcely taken root in the ground. He merely blows on them, and they wither, and the whirlwind takes them away as stubble.
24 Za i tilam, oho, za i duma, Oho, za i tikse mana te kaaji laabo ra, Kal a m'i funsu hal i ma lakaw. Alma haw mo m'i sambu sanda buunu cine.
24Yea, they have not been planted; yea, they have not been sown; yea, their stock hath not taken root in the earth: moreover he bloweth upon them, and they wither, and the whirlwind taketh them away as stubble.
25“To whom then will you liken me? Who is my equal?” says the Holy One.
25 May gaa no araŋ g'ay deedandi, kaŋ in d'a ga saba? Yaadin no Hananyankoyo ci.
25To whom then will ye liken me, that I should be equal [to him]? saith the Holy One.
26Lift up your eyes on high, and see who has created these, who brings out their army by number. He calls them all by name. by the greatness of his might, and because he is strong in power, Not one is lacking.
26 W'araŋ moy sambu beene ka guna. May no ka woodin yaŋ taka? Bora kaŋ ga beene kundey kaa taray i lasaabo boŋ no. A g'i kulu ce mo da ngey maa, nga hino beera boŋ, Zama nga wo hin da gaabikoy no. Afo kulu si jaŋ, baa afolloŋ.
26Lift up your eyes on high, and see who hath created these, that bringeth out their host by number; he calleth them all by name; by the greatness of his might, and for that he is strong in power, not one is lacking.
27Why do you say, Jacob, and speak, Israel, “My way is hidden from Yahweh, and the justice due me is disregarded by my God?”
27 Ya nin Yakuba, ifo se no ni ga ne: «Ay fonda go tugante Rabbi se. Ay Irikoyo n'ay cimi ciito muray mo»? Ya Israyla, ifo se no ni go ga salaŋ ya-cine?
27Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from Jehovah, and the justice [due] to me is passed away from my God?
28Haven’t you known? Haven’t you heard? The everlasting God, Yahweh, The Creator of the ends of the earth, doesn’t faint. He isn’t weary. His understanding is unsearchable.
28 Manti ni jin ka bay? Manti ni maa mo? Irikoyo kaŋ ga duumi, Rabbi kaŋ na ndunnya meyey taka, Nga wo si yangala, a si farga mo, A fahama baa da fintalyaŋ.
28Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard? The everlasting God, Jehovah, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary; there is no searching of his understanding.
29He gives power to the weak. He increases the strength of him who has no might.
29 A ga gaabi no borey kaŋ londi bu yaŋ se. Boro kaŋ sinda hina mo, a ga gaabi tonton a se.
29He giveth power to the faint; and to him that hath no might he increaseth strength.
30Even the youths faint and get weary, and the young men utterly fall;
30 Baa arwasey ga farga, i ma yangala, Gaabikooney mo ga kati ka kaŋ.
30Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
31But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint.
31 Amma borey kaŋ yaŋ ga hangan Rabbi se gaabey ga ye ka taji. I ga tun da fatayaŋ ka deesi beene sanda zeeban cine, I ga zuru, i si farga mo, I ga soobay ka dira, i si yangala mo.
31but they that wait for Jehovah shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.
