1Yet listen now, Jacob my servant, and Israel, whom I have chosen.
1 Amma sohõ, ya ay tamo Yakuba, Ya Israyla kaŋ ay suuban, ma maa.
1Yet now hear, O Jacob my servant, and Israel, who I have chosen:
2This is what Yahweh who made you, and formed you from the womb, who will help you says: “Don’t be afraid, Jacob my servant; and you, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.
2 Yaa no Rabbi kaŋ na ni te, A na ni taka za gunda ra, nga kaŋ ga ni gaa mo, A ci ka ne: Ya ay tamo Yakuba, Nin, Yesurun kaŋ ay suuban, Ma si humburu,
2Thus saith Jehovah that made thee, and formed thee from the womb, who will help thee: Fear not, O Jacob my servant; and thou, Jeshurun, whom I have chosen.
3For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and streams on the dry ground. I will pour my Spirit on your seed, and my blessing on your offspring:
3 Zama ay ga hari dooru nangey kaŋ jaw boŋ da hari zuru gooru yaŋ mo nangu koogey boŋ. Ay g'ay Biya zumandi ni banda boŋ d'ay albarka mo ni dumo boŋ.
3For I will pour water upon him that is thirsty, and streams upon the dry ground; I will pour my Spirit upon thy seed, and my blessing upon thine offspring:
4and they will spring up among the grass, as willows by the watercourses.
4 I ga zay subey ra, Sanda kuubu kaŋ go hari zuru fondo gaa.
4and they shall spring up among the grass, as willows by the watercourses.
5One will say, ‘I am Yahweh’s;’ and another will be called by the name of Jacob; and another will write with his hand ‘to Yahweh,’ and honor the name of Israel.”
5 Boro fo ga ne: «Ay ya Rabbi wane no.» Afo mo ga Yakuba maa sambu. Afo mo ga woone hantum nga kambe gaa: «Rabbi wane no.» A ga maa gaaru daŋ nga boŋ se da Israyla maa.
5One shall say, I am Jehovah's; and another shall call [himself] by the name of Jacob; and another shall subscribe with his hand unto Jehovah, and surname [himself] by the name of Israel.
6This is what Yahweh, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, Yahweh of Armies, says: “I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God.
6 Rabbi sanno neeya: Israyla Koyo kaŋ g'a fansa ga ti Rabbi Kundeykoyo. A ne: Ay no sintina, Ay no bananta mo. Ay baa da banda Irikoy kulu si no.
6Thus saith Jehovah, the King of Israel, and his Redeemer, Jehovah of hosts: I am the first, and I am the last; and besides me there is no God.
7Who is like me? Who will call, and will declare it, and set it in order for me, since I established the ancient people? Let them declare the things that are coming, and that will happen.
7 May no ga ti ay cine? To, a ma seeda te ka ci me! A ma muraadey kaŋ goono ga kaa seeda. Wo kaŋ yaŋ ga aniya ka te, a m'i ci.
7And who, as I, shall call, and shall declare it, and set it in order for me, since I established the ancient people? and the things that are coming, and that shall come to pass, let them declare.
8Don’t fear, neither be afraid. Haven’t I declared it to you long ago, and shown it? You are my witnesses. Is there a God besides me? Indeed, there is not. I don’t know any other Rock.”
8 Wa si jijiri, wa si humburu mo. Manti ay jin ka ni kabarandi nd'a za doŋ bo, Hal ay n'a ci ni se? Araŋ no ga ti ay seedey. Irikoy fo go no kaŋ waana ay? Abada, afo si no. Ay mana Tondi fo bay.
8Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have I not declared unto thee of old, and showed it? and ye are my witnesses. Is there a God besides me? yea, there is no Rock; I know not any.
9Everyone who makes an engraved image is vain. The things that they delight in will not profit. Their own witnesses don’t see, nor know, that they may be disappointed.
9 Borey kaŋ yaŋ ga tooru jabante te, i kulu yaamoyaŋ no. I jinay caadantey mo sinda nafa kulu.
9They that fashion a graven image are all of them vanity; and the things that they delight in shall not profit; and their own witnesses see not, nor know: that they may be put to shame.
10Who has fashioned a god, or molds an image that is profitable for nothing?
10 May no ka de-koy fo cina, Wala a na sooguyaŋ tooru fo te kaŋ si hay kulu hanse?
10Who hath fashioned a god, or molten an image that is profitable for nothing?
11Behold, all his fellows will be disappointed; and the workmen are mere men. Let them all be gathered together. Let them stand up. They will fear. They will be put to shame together.
11Behold, all his fellows shall be put to shame; and the workmen, they are of men: let them all be gathered together, let them stand up; they shall fear, they shall be put to shame together.
12The blacksmith takes an axe, works in the coals, fashions it with hammers, and works it with his strong arm. He is hungry, and his strength fails; he drinks no water, and is faint.
12 Zam ga deesi kaanandi, a ga goy danji bi ra, A ma tooro te da ndarka, A kambe gaabikoono mo no a ga nga goyo te d'a. Oho, a ga maa haray, a gaabo ga gaze, A mana hari haŋ, a ga farga.
12The smith [maketh] an axe, and worketh in the coals, and fashioneth it with hammers, and worketh it with his strong arm: yea, he is hungry, and his strength faileth; he drinketh no water, and is faint.
13The carpenter stretches out a line. He marks it out with a pencil. He shapes it with planes. He marks it out with compasses, and shapes it like the figure of a man, with the beauty of a man, to reside in a house.
13 Sace ga korfayze daŋ ka candi, A ma nga jeeriyaŋey te da kalam, A m'a jabu nda nga zaama, A m'a alhaalo te da kambu, A goono g'a cina Adam-ize booro himandi boŋ, Zama a ma goro fu ra.
13The carpenter stretcheth out a line; he marketh it out with a pencil; he shapeth it with planes, and he marketh it out with the compasses, and shapeth it after the figure of a man, according to the beauty of a man, to dwell in a house.
14He cuts down cedars for himself, and takes the cypress and the oak, and strengthens for himself one among the trees of the forest. He plants a fir tree, and the rain nourishes it.
14He heweth him down cedars, and taketh the holm-tree and the oak, and strengtheneth for himself one among the trees of the forest: he planteth a fir-tree, and the rain doth nourish it.
15Then it will be for a man to burn; and he takes some of it, and warms himself. Yes, he burns it, and bakes bread. Yes, he makes a god, and worships it; he makes it an engraved image, and falls down to it.
15 A ga ciya tuuri kaŋ boro ga ton. A ga kaa a gaa mo ka danji funsu ka caan. Oho, a g'a diyandi ka buuru ton d'a. Oho, a g'a te de-koy ka sududu a se. A g'a ciya jabuyaŋ tooru ka ye ganda a jine.
15Then shall it be for a man to burn; and he taketh thereof, and warmeth himself; yea, he kindleth it, and baketh bread: yea, he maketh a god, and worshippeth it; he maketh it a graven image, and falleth down thereto.
16He burns part of it in the fire. With part of it, he eats meat. He roasts a roast, and is satisfied. Yes, he warms himself, and says, “Aha! I am warm. I have seen the fire.”
16 A ga jara ton danji ra, Jara mo a ga ham ŋwa d'a, A ga ham ton d'a no ka ŋwa ka kungu. Oho, a ma caan ka ne: «Haay, ay hargo fun, ay di danjo!»
16He burneth part thereof in the fire; with part thereof he eateth flesh; he roasteth roast, and is satisfied; yea, he warmeth himself, and saith, Aha, I am warm, I have seen the fire.
17The rest of it he makes into a god, even his engraved image. He bows down to it and worships, and prays to it, and says, “Deliver me; for you are my god!”
17 Wo kaŋ cindi din mo, a m'a te de-koy, Nga jabuyaŋ tooro nooya! A ga ye ganda a jine ka sududu. A ma adduwa te a gaa ka ne: «M'ay faaba, zama nin no ga ti ay irikoyo.»
17And the residue thereof he maketh a god, even his graven image; he falleth down unto it and worshippeth, and prayeth unto it, and saith, Deliver me; for thou art my god.
18They don’t know, neither do they consider: for he has shut their eyes, that they can’t see; and their hearts, that they can’t understand.
18 Borey din mana bay, i mana laakal ye mo, Zama i moy go daabante hal i si hin ka di, I biney mo daabu hal i si hin ka faham.
18They know not, neither do they consider: for he hath shut their eyes, that they cannot see; and their hearts, that they cannot understand.
19No one thinks, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, “I have burned part of it in the fire. Yes, I have also baked bread on its coals. I have roasted meat and eaten it. Shall I make the rest of it into an abomination? Shall I bow down to a tree trunk?”
19 Afo mo si no kaŋ lasaabu nga bina ra. A sinda bayray, wala fahamay fo hal a ma ne: «Hay! Ay jin k'a jara fa ton danji ra, Oho, hala mo ay na buuru ton a danj'izo boŋ, Ay na ham ton ka ŋwa.
19And none calleth to mind, neither is there knowledge nor understanding to say, I have burned part of it in the fire; yea, also I have baked bread upon the coals thereof; I have roasted flesh and eaten it: and shall I make the residue thereof an abomination? shall I fall down to the stock of a tree?
20He feeds on ashes. A deceived heart has turned him aside; and he can’t deliver his soul, nor say, “Isn’t there a lie in my right hand?”
Boosu no bora din goono ga ŋwa, Bine fafaganta n'a kambandi ka kaa fonda ra, Hal a si hin ka nga fundo faaba, wala a ma ne: «Hayo wo kaŋ go ay kambe ŋwaaro ra, manti tangari no?»
20He feedeth on ashes; a deceived heart hath turned him aside; and he cannot deliver his soul, nor say, Is there not a lie in my right hand?
21Remember these things, Jacob and Israel; for you are my servant. I have formed you. You are my servant. Israel, you will not be forgotten by me.
21Remember these things, O Jacob, and Israel; for thou art my servant: I have formed thee; thou art my servant: O Israel, thou shalt not be forgotten of me.
22I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, your transgressions, and, as a cloud, your sins. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.
22I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.
23Sing, you heavens, for Yahweh has done it! Shout, you lower parts of the earth! Break out into singing, you mountains, O forest, all of your trees, for Yahweh has redeemed Jacob, and will glorify himself in Israel.
Ya ndunnya guusuyaŋey, wa kuuwa, Ya araŋ tondi kuukey, Ya saaji tuuri zugu beerey, Da tuuri kulu dumi kaŋ go a ra mo, Wa kuuwa ka doon!
23Sing, O ye heavens, for Jehovah hath done it; shout, ye lower parts of the earth; break forth into singing, ye mountains, O forest, and every tree therein: for Jehovah hath redeemed Jacob, and will glorify himself in Israel.
24Thus says Yahweh, your Redeemer, and he who formed you from the womb: “I am Yahweh, who makes all things; who alone stretches out the heavens; who spreads out the earth by myself;
24 Yaa no Rabbi ci, Rabbi ni Fansakwa, Nga kaŋ na ni te za waato kaŋ ni go gunde ra. A ne: Ay no Rabbi, hay kulu Teeko, Ay hinne no ka beena daaru, Ay na ndunnya daaru k'a salle. May no go ay banda?
24Thus saith Jehovah, thy Redeemer, and he that formed thee from the womb: I am Jehovah, that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth (who is with me?);
25who frustrates the signs of the liars, and makes diviners mad; who turns wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolish;
25 Rabbi ga tangarikomey aleesey ganji. A ga gunakoy follandi, A ga laakalkooney bare ka ye banda, A g'i bayrayey ciya saamotaray.
25that frustrateth the signs of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;
26who confirms the word of his servant, and performs the counsel of his messengers; who says of Jerusalem, ‘She will be inhabited;’ and of the cities of Judah, ‘They will be built,’ and ‘I will raise up its waste places;’
26 A ga nga tamo sanni tabbatandi, A ga nga diyey saawarey mo kubandi. Ay g'a kurmey mo cina.
26that confirmeth the word of his servant, and performeth the counsel of his messengers; that saith of Jerusalem, She shall be inhabited; and of the cities of Judah, They shall be built, and I will raise up the waste places thereof;
27who says to the deep, ‘Be dry,’ and ‘I will dry up your rivers;’
27that saith to the deep, Be dry, and I will dry up thy rivers;
28Who says of Cyrus, ‘He is my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure,’ even saying of Jerusalem, ‘She will be built;’ and of the temple, ‘Your foundation will be laid.’”
28 Ay ga ne Sirus se: ‹Ni ya ay kuruko no›. A g'ay miila kulu goy te, Hal a ma ne Urusalima se: ‹Ni ma cina›, A ma ne Irikoy windo mo se: ‹Ni daba ma sinji.›
28That saith of Cyrus, [He is] my shepherd, and shall perform all my pleasure, even saying of Jerusalem, She shall be built; and of the temple, Thy foundation shall be laid.
