1Let me sing for my well beloved a song of my beloved about his vineyard. My beloved had a vineyard on a very fruitful hill.
1 Naŋ ay ma baytu te sohõ boro kaŋ ay ga ba boŋ. Bayto neeya bora kaŋ ay ga ba boŋ a reyzin kalo ciine ra. Bora kaŋ ay ga ba gonda kali tudu fo kaŋ gonda albarka boŋ.
1Let me sing for my wellbeloved a song of my beloved touching his vineyard. My wellbeloved had a vineyard in a very fruitful hill:
2He dug it up, gathered out its stones, planted it with the choicest vine, built a tower in its midst, and also cut out a winepress therein. He looked for it to yield grapes, but it yielded wild grapes.
2 A n'a far k'a tondey ku, A n'a tilam da reyzin nya suubanante. A na cinari kuuku te kalo bindo ra, A na reyzin kankamyaŋ do jabu a ra, A na laakal dake hal a ga reyzin ize hanno yaŋ hay, Amma a na reyzin ize fumbo yaŋ hay.
2and he digged it, and gathered out the stones thereof, and planted it with the choicest vine, and built a tower in the midst of it, and also hewed out a winepress therein: and he looked that it should bring forth grapes, and it brought forth wild grapes.
3“Now, inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, please judge between me and my vineyard.
3 Sohõ binde, ya araŋ Urusalima gorokoy da Yahuda borey, Ay g'araŋ ŋwaaray, wa ciiti in d'ay kalo game ra.
3And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard.
4What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? Why, when I looked for it to yield grapes, did it yield wild grapes?
4 Ifo ka cindi kaŋ i ga te ay kalo se kaŋ ay mana te a ra? Zama waati kaŋ ay na laakal dake a ma reyzin ize hanno yaŋ hay, Ifo se no a na ifumbo yaŋ hay?
4What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes?
5Now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard. I will take away its hedge, and it will be eaten up. I will break down its wall of it, and it will be trampled down.
5 Sohõ binde, naŋ ay ma ci araŋ se haŋ kaŋ ay ga te d'ay kalo: Ay g'a kali tondey dagu no, almaney g'a ŋwa mo. Ay m'a kosarayey zeeri, I g'a taamu-taamu mo.
5And now I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; I will break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:
6I will lay it a wasteland. It won’t be pruned nor hoed, but it will grow briers and thorns. I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain on it.”
6 Ay g'a halaci parkatak! I s'a kambey co-co, i s'a far mo, Amma tuuri izeyaŋ da karjiyaŋ ga fun a ra. Ay ga burey lordi mo ka ne i ma si hari te a boŋ.
6and I will lay it waste; it shall not be pruned nor hoed; but there shall come up briers and thorns: I will also command the clouds that they rain no rain upon it.
7For the vineyard of Yahweh of Armies is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for justice, but, behold, oppression; for righteousness, but, behold, a cry of distress.
7 Zama Rabbi Kundeykoyo reyzin kalo ga ti Israyla dumo, Yahuda borey no ga ti a tilamo kaŋ a ga taala-taala mo. A na laakal dake cimi ciiti gaa, A go mo, kala boro wiyaŋ! A na laakal dake adilitaray gaa, a go mo, Kala bone hẽeni!
7For the vineyard of Jehovah of hosts is the house of Israel, and the men of Judah his pleasant plant: and he looked for justice, but, behold, oppression; for righteousness, but, behold, a cry.
8Woe to those who join house to house, who lay field to field, until there is no room, and you are made to dwell alone in the midst of the land!
8 Kaari borey kaŋ ga windi nda windi naagu care gaa! I ga fari nda fari mo naagu care gaa hala nangu si no kaŋ ga cindi. Ngey no ga goro ngey hinne laabo bindi ra!
8Woe unto them that join house to house, that lay field to field, till there be no room, and ye be made to dwell alone in the midst of the land!
9In my ears, Yahweh of Armies says: “Surely many houses will be desolate, even great and beautiful, unoccupied.
9 Ay hangey ra no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ze ka ne: «Daahir, windi beerey, da windey kaŋ ga boori, Iboobo ga ciya kurmu, Boro kulu si goro i ra.
9In mine ears [saith] Jehovah of hosts, Of a truth many houses shall be desolate, even great and fair, without inhabitant.
10For ten acres literally, ten yokes, or the amount of land that ten yokes of oxen can plow in one day, which is about 10 acres or 4 hectares. of vineyard shall yield one bath, 1 bath is about 22 litres or 5.8 U. S. gallons and a homer 1 homer is about 220 litres or 6 bushels of seed shall yield an ephah. 1 ephah is about 22 litres or 0.6 bushels or about 2 pecks)—only one tenth of what was sown. ”
10 Zama reyzin kali kaŋ ga beeri danga boro fo fari dumbari, A gaa i ga du duvan* litar waranka cindi hinka. Dumi izey mo, gumbutu me way wane, Kulu gumbutu folloŋ no a ga hay.»
10For ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and a homer of seed shall yield [but] an ephah.
11Woe to those who rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; who stay late into the night, until wine inflames them!
11 Kaari borey kaŋ ga tun za da hinay zama ngey ma baji ceeci, Kaŋ ga cin zabu mo hala duvan m'i bugandi!
11Woe unto them that rise up early in the morning, that they may follow strong drink; that tarry late into the night, till wine inflame them!
12The harp, lyre, tambourine, and flute, with wine, are at their feasts; but they don’t respect the work of Yahweh, neither have they considered the operation of his hands.
12 I go ngey batey ra da moolo beeri da moolo kayna da ganga da seese yaŋ da duvan mo koyne, Amma i baa si nda Rabbi goy. I siino ga laakal mo d'a kambey te-goyey.
12And the harp and the lute, the tabret and the pipe, and wine, are [in] their feasts; but they regard not the work of Jehovah, neither have they considered the operation of his hands.
13Therefore my people go into captivity for lack of knowledge. Their honorable men are famished, and their multitudes are parched with thirst.
13 Woodin se no ay borey ga furo tamtaray ra bayray-jaŋay sabbay se. I boro beerey ga bu da haray, I baayaŋo kulu mo ga koogu nda jaw.
13Therefore my people are gone into captivity for lack of knowledge; and their honorable men are famished, and their multitude are parched with thirst.
14Therefore Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. has enlarged its desire, and opened its mouth without measure; and their glory, their multitude, their pomp, and he who rejoices among them, descend into it.
14 Woodin se no Alaahara na nga karra tafandi, A na nga meyo feeri kaŋ sinda misa, Hala Urusalima darza d'a jama, d'a kosongo, Da boro kaŋ goono ga fooma a ra ma gunguray ka do a ra.
14Therefore Sheol hath enlarged its desire, and opened its mouth without measure; and their glory, and their multitude, and their pomp, and he that rejoiceth among them, descend [into it].
15So man is brought low, mankind is humbled, and the eyes of the arrogant ones are humbled;
15 Boro kayna, i g'a ye ganda. Boro beeri, i g'a kaynandi. Boŋbeeraykoyey moy mo, i g'i zumandi.
15And the mean man is bowed down, and the great man is humbled, and the eyes of the lofty are humbled:
16but Yahweh of Armies is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness.
16 Amma Rabbi Kundeykoyo ga beeri ciiti ra, Koy Hanna ga nga boŋ cabe kaŋ nga hanan adilitaray ra.
16but Jehovah of hosts is exalted in justice, and God the Holy One is sanctified in righteousness.
17Then the lambs will graze as in their pasture, and strangers will eat the ruins of the rich.
17 Waato din gaa feej'ize ga kuru noodin danga ngey kuray nango ra, Mebarawey mo ga arzakantey windi kooney ŋwa.
17Then shall the lambs feed as in their pasture, and the waste places of the fat ones shall wanderers eat.
18Woe to those who draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, and wickedness as with cart rope;
18 Kaari ngey kaŋ yaŋ ga laala candi da tangari korfoyaŋ, I ma zunubi mo candi da torko korfoyaŋ!
18Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of falsehood, and sin as it were with a cart rope;
19Who say, “Let him make speed, let him hasten his work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw near and come, that we may know it!”
19 Ngey kaŋ ga ne koyne: «Irikoy ma te waasi, A ma nga goyo cahandi zama iri ma di a. Naŋ Israyla wane Hananyankoyo saawara ma kankamandi ka kaa, zama iri m'a bay!»
19that say, Let him make speed, let him hasten his work, that we may see it; and let the counsel of the Holy One of Israel draw nigh and come, that we may know it!
20Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
20 Kaari ngey kaŋ ga ne laala se booriyaŋ, Booriyaŋ mo i ma ne a se laala! Ngey kaŋ ga kubay daŋ kaari gurbi ra, Kaari mo i m'a daŋ kubay gurbi ra. I ma kaani daŋ forti gurbi ra, I ma forti mo ye ka daŋ kaani gurbi ra!
20Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
21Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
21 Kaari ngey kaŋ yaŋ ga ngey boŋ himandi laakalkooniyaŋ, I ga ngey boŋ guna fayankakoyaŋ!
21Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight!
22Woe to those who are mighty to drink wine, and champions at mixing strong drink;
22 Kaari ngey kaŋ yaŋ gonda gaabi duvan haŋyaŋ do, Yaarukomyaŋ mo no baji diibiyaŋ do!
22Woe unto them that are mighty to drink wine, and men of strength to mingle strong drink;
23who acquit the guilty for a bribe, but deny justice for the innocent!
23 Ngey kaŋ yaŋ ga me-daabu ta ka boro laaley fansa ka taŋ, Amma i ga adilante cimo dumbu ka ta a gaa!
23that justify the wicked for a bribe, and take away the righteousness of the righteous from him!
24Therefore as the tongue of fire devours the stubble, and as the dry grass sinks down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust; because they have rejected the law of Yahweh of Armies, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
24 Woodin sabbay se no, Sanda mate kaŋ cine danji beele ga subu baano ŋwa, Wala subu kogo ga kaŋ danji ra, Yaadin cine no i tiksa ga ciya sanda fumbi cine. I booso mo ga tun danga kusa cine. Za kaŋ i wangu Rabbi Kundeykoyo asariya, I donda Israyla wane Hananyankoyo sanno mo.
24Therefore as the tongue of fire devoureth the stubble, and as the dry grass sinketh down in the flame, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust; because they have rejected the law of Jehovah of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.
25Therefore Yahweh’s anger burns against his people, and he has stretched out his hand against them, and has struck them. The mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this, his anger is not turned away, but his hand is still stretched out.
25 Woodin sabbay se no Rabbi futa koroŋ nga jama boŋ, A na nga kamba sambu i boŋ mo k'i kar. Tondey kuukey jijiri, Buukoy mo ciya sanda birji cine kwaara fondey ra. Kulu nda yaadin Rabbi futa mana ban, Amma a kamba go sambante hala hõ.
25Therefore is the anger of Jehovah kindled against his people, and he hath stretched forth his hand against them, and hath smitten them; and the mountains tremble, and their dead bodies are as refuse in the midst of the streets. For all this his anger is not turned away, but his hand is stretched out still.
26He will lift up a banner to the nations from far, and he will whistle for them from the end of the earth. Behold, they will come speedily and swiftly.
26 Rabbi ga liiliwal tunandi mo ndunnya dumey kaŋ go nangu mooro se. I go hala ndunnya me no, a ga falle i se i ma kaa. A go mo, i ga zuru ka kaa da waasi.
26And he will lift up an ensign to the nations from far, and will hiss for them from the end of the earth; and, behold, they shall come with speed swiftly.
27None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the belt of their waist be untied, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken:
27 I ra sinda boro kaŋ ga farga, Boro kaŋ ga kati mo si no. Boro kaŋ ga dusungu si no, wala boro kaŋ ga jirbi. I cantey guddamey si feeri, I taamu korfey mo si pati.
27None shall be weary nor stumble among them; none shall slumber nor sleep; neither shall the girdle of their loins be loosed, nor the latchet of their shoes be broken:
28whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent. Their horses’ hoofs will be like flint, and their wheels like a whirlwind.
28 I hangawey gonda deene, Haw go i birawey kulu ra. I bariyey ce camsey sanda day captuyaŋ no, I torkey cey mo sanda day alma haw beeri.
28whose arrows are sharp, and all their bows bent; their horses' hoofs shall be accounted as flint, and their wheels as a whirlwind:
29Their roaring will be like a lioness. They will roar like young lions. Yes, they shall roar, and seize their prey and carry it off, and there will be no one to deliver.
29 I dunduyaŋo ga hima muusu beeri way, I ga dundu sanda muusu beeri izeyaŋ, Oho, i ga dundu ka duure ham tibi, I m'a ku mo baani samay, faabako si no.
29their roaring shall be like a lioness, they shall roar like young lions; yea, they shall roar, and lay hold of the prey, and carry it away safe, and there shall be none to deliver.
30They will roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea. If one looks to the land behold, darkness and distress. The light is darkened in its clouds.
30 Han din hane binde kosongu ga te Urusalima boŋ sanda teeku kosongu cine. Da boro na laabo fonnay, Kala kubay da taabi kaŋ go no, burey na kaaro daabu.
30And they shall roar against them in that day like the roaring of the sea: and if one look unto the land, behold, darkness [and] distress; and the light is darkened in the clouds thereof.
