1“Cry aloud, don’t spare, lift up your voice like a trumpet, and declare to my people their disobedience, and to the house of Jacob their sins.
1 Ni jinda sambu, ma s'a zabu! Ni jinda tunandi, sanda hilli karyaŋ cine k'ay jama taalo ci i se, Ma Yakuba dumo zunubey ci i se mo.
1Cry aloud, spare not, lift up thy voice like a trumpet, and declare unto my people their transgression, and to the house of Jacob their sins.
2Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways: as a nation that did righteousness, and didn’t forsake the ordinance of their God, they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near to God.
2 Daahir, i goono g'ay ceeci zaari kulu, Ka ne ngey ga ba ngey m'ay fondey bay, Danga dumi kaŋ goono ga adilitaray te, Kaŋ siino ga fay da ngey Irikoyo farilla. I goono ga cimi ciiti dumbuyaŋ ŋwaaray ay gaa ka ne ngey ga ba ngey ma maan Irikoy do.
2Yet they seek me daily, and delight to know my ways: as a nation that did righteousness, and forsook not the ordinance of their God, they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near unto God.
3‘Why have we fasted,’ say they, ‘and you don’t see? Why have we afflicted our soul, and you take no knowledge?’ “Behold, in the day of your fast you find pleasure, and exact all your labors.
A go, araŋ mehaw zaaro ra araŋ goono ga araŋ ndunnya kaaniyey ŋwa, Araŋ goono g'araŋ goy-teerey kulu kankam mo.
3Wherefore have we fasted, [say they], and thou seest not? [wherefore] have we afflicted our soul, and thou takest no knowledge? Behold, in the day of your fast ye find [your own] pleasure, and exact all your labors.
4Behold, you fast for strife and contention, and to strike with the fist of wickedness: you don’t fast this day so as to make your voice to be heard on high.
4 A go, araŋ goono ga mehaw da kusuuma nda yanje, Araŋ ga kar mo da kambe kunkunante laalo. Sohõ binde, araŋ mana mehaw mate kaŋ ga naŋ i ma maa araŋ jindey beene.
4Behold, ye fast for strife and contention, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye fast not this day so as to make your voice to be heard on high.
5Is such the fast that I have chosen? the day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head as a rush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you call this a fast, and an acceptable day to Yahweh?
5 Mate no, woone no ga ti mehawo kaŋ dumi ay suuban -- Zaari no kaŋ boro ga nga fundo taabandi? A ma boŋ sumbal sanda karra, A ma bufu zaara nda boosu daaru ngey cire no? Woodin se no ni ga ne mehaw? Zaari no kaŋ Rabbi ga yadda nd'a? Abada!
5Is such the fast that I have chosen? the day for a man to afflict his soul? Is it to bow down his head as a rush, and to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? wilt thou call this a fast, and an acceptable day to Jehovah?
6“Isn’t this the fast that I have chosen: to release the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and that you break every yoke?
6 Wala manti woone ga ti mehawo kaŋ dumi ay suuban? Araŋ ma laala sisirey ceeri, Wa calu hawyaŋ korfey feeri, Wa borey kaŋ yaŋ i kankam taŋ, wa calu kulu feeri.
6Is not this the fast that I have chosen: to loose the bonds of wickedness, to undo the bands of the yoke, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?
7Isn’t it to distribute your bread to the hungry, and that you bring the poor who are cast out to your house? When you see the naked, that you cover him; and that you not hide yourself from your own flesh?
7Is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him; and that thou hide not thyself from thine own flesh?
8Then your light shall break forth as the morning, and your healing shall spring forth speedily; and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of Yahweh shall be your rear guard.
8Then shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thy healing shall spring forth speedily; and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of Jehovah shall by thy rearward.
9Then you shall call, and Yahweh will answer; you shall cry, and he will say, ‘Here I am.’ “If you take away from the midst of you the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking wickedly;
9 Waato din gaa no ni ga ce, Rabbi mo ga tu. Ni ga jinde tunandi, nga mo ga ne: «Ay neeya!»
9Then shalt thou call, and Jehovah will answer; thou shalt cry, and he will say, Here I am. If thou take away from the midst of thee the yoke, the putting forth of the finger, and speaking wickedly;
10and if you draw out your soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul: then your light shall rise in darkness, and your obscurity be as the noonday;
Ni kuba mo ga ciya sanda wayno go zaari bindi.
10and if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul: then shall thy light rise in darkness, and thine obscurity be as the noonday;
11and Yahweh will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in dry places, and make strong your bones; and you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters don’t fail.
Ni ga ciya sanda kali kaŋ i haŋandi, Sanda hari zuru mo kaŋ haro si koosu.
11and Jehovah will guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in dry places, and make strong thy bones; and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
12Those who shall be of you shall build the old waste places; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; and you shall be called The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
12 Ni banda mo ga waato kurmu zeeney cina. Ni ga ye ka waato zamaney daba boobo cina, I ga ne ni se kortimi hanseko, Da fondey kaŋ ra borey ga goro hanseko.
12And they that shall be of thee shall build the old waste places; thou shalt raise up the foundations of many generations; and thou shalt be called The repairer of the breach, The restorer of paths to dwell in.
13“If you turn away your foot from the Sabbath, from doing your pleasure on my holy day; and call the Sabbath a delight, and the holy of Yahweh honorable; and shall honor it, not doing your own ways, nor finding your own pleasure, nor speaking your own words:
13 Hala day ni na ce kaa ni boŋ ibaay ganayaŋ ra asibti hane, Kaŋ ga ti ay zaari hananta, Da ni na asibti ciya ni kaani maayaŋ hari, Da haŋ kaŋ Rabbi darza hanandi, Da ni na asibti beerandi mo, Ni mana ni boŋ muraadu goy te, Ni mana ni boŋ kaani ceeci, Ni mana ni boŋ ibaay sanni ci mo --
13If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath, from doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, [and] the holy of Jehovah honorable; and shalt honor it, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking [thine own] words:
14then you shall delight yourself in Yahweh; and I will make you to ride on the high places of the earth; and I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father:” for the mouth of Yahweh has spoken it.
14then shalt thou delight thyself in Jehovah; and I will make thee to ride upon the high places of the earth; and I will feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken it.
