1The word that came to Jeremiah from Yahweh, saying,
1 Sanni neeya kaŋ fun Rabbi do ka kaa Irimiya do. A ne:
1The word that came to Jeremiah from Jehovah, saying,
2“Stand in the gate of Yahweh’s house, and proclaim there this word, and say, ‘Hear the word of Yahweh, all you of Judah, who enter in at these gates to worship Yahweh.
2 Ma kay Rabbi windo meyo gaa. Noodin binde ni ma sanni woone fe ka ne: Ya araŋ Yahuda borey kulu kaŋ yaŋ ga furo neewo meyey wo ra ka sududu Rabbi se, wa maa Rabbi sanno.
2Stand in the gate of Jehovah's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of Jehovah, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship Jehovah.
3Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
3 Yaa no Rabbi Kundeykoyo, Israyla Irikoyo ci: Wa araŋ fondey d'araŋ te-goyey hanse, ay mo g'araŋ naŋ araŋ ma goro nango wo ra.
3Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
4Don’t trust in lying words, saying, Yahweh’s temple, Yahweh’s temple, Yahweh’s temple, are these.
4 Wa si de tangari sanni gaa kaŋ i ga ne: «Rabbi windo, Rabbi windo, Rabbi windo neeya.»
4Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of Jehovah, the temple of Jehovah, the temple of Jehovah, are these.
5For if you thoroughly amend your ways and your doings; if you thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor;
5 Zama d'araŋ n'araŋ fondey d'araŋ goyey hanse da cimi, d'araŋ na cimi ciito te boro nda nga gorokasin game ra,
5For if ye thoroughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye thoroughly execute justice between a man and his neighbor;
6if you don’t oppress the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow, and don’t shed innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your own hurt:
6 d'araŋ mana yaw, wala alatuumi, wala wayboro kaŋ kurnye bu kankam, d'araŋ mana boro kaŋ sinda taali wi mo nango wo ra, araŋ mana de-koy fooyaŋ gana mo araŋ boŋ hasaraw teeyaŋ se --
6if ye oppress not the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your own hurt:
7then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from of old even forevermore.
7 ay mo, kal ay ma naŋ araŋ ma goro nango wo ra, laabo kaŋ ay n'araŋ kaayey no din ra, za doŋ ka koy hal abada abadin.
7then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, from of old even for evermore.
8Behold, you trust in lying words, that can’t profit.
8 Amma a go, araŋ goono ga de tangari sanniyaŋ gaa, kaŋ yaŋ sinda nafa.
8Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.
9Will you steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense to Baal, and walk after other gods that you have not known,
9 Araŋ ga zaytaray da boro wiyaŋ te, araŋ ga zina, araŋ ga ze da tangari, araŋ ga dugu ton Baal se, araŋ ga de-koy fooyaŋ gana, kaŋ araŋ s'i bay.
9Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods that ye have not known,
10and come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered; that you may do all these abominations?
10 Araŋ ma ye ka kaa koyne ka kay ay jine, windo wo ra, kaŋ i ga ce d'ay maa, araŋ ma ne: «Iri du iri boŋ!» -- Mate no? Zama araŋ ma fanta hari woone yaŋ kulu goy te no?
10and come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered; that ye may do all these abominations?
11Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it, says Yahweh.
11 Windi woone, kaŋ i goono ga ce d'ay maa, araŋ n'a ciya zayyaŋ guusu no araŋ diyaŋ gaa, wala? A go, ay bumbo di woodin. Yaadin no Rabbi ci.
11Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, I, even I, have seen it, saith Jehovah.
12But go now to my place which was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.
12 Amma sohõ wa koy Silo hal ay waato nango do, nango kaŋ ay n'ay maa daŋ a ma goro za sintina. Araŋ ma guna ka di haŋ kaŋ ay te a se, ay borey Israyla laala sabbay se.
12But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I caused my name to dwell at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.
13Now, because you have done all these works, says Yahweh, and I spoke to you, rising up early and speaking, but you didn’t hear; and I called you, but you didn’t answer:
13 Sohõ binde, zama araŋ na hayey wo kulu te, yaa no Rabbi ci, baa kaŋ ay salaŋ araŋ se, ay ga soobay ka ci ka yaara, amma araŋ mana maa, ay ce, amma araŋ mana tu,
13And now, because ye have done all these works, saith Jehovah, and I spake unto you, rising up early and speaking, but ye heard not; and I called you, but ye answered not:
14therefore will I do to the house which is called by my name, in which you trust, and to the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.
14 woodin sabbay se no, windo wo, kaŋ i ga ce d'ay maa, nango kaŋ gaa araŋ goono ga de, da nango kaŋ ay no araŋ se, araŋ d'araŋ kaayey -- ay ga te a se sanda mate kaŋ cine ay te Silo se.
14therefore will I do unto the house which is called by my name, wherein ye trust, and unto the place which I gave to you and to your fathers, as I did to Shiloh.
15I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brothers, even the whole seed of Ephraim.
15 Ay g'araŋ gaaray mo, ya araŋ fay d'ay diyaŋ, sanda mate kaŋ ay n'araŋ nya-izey kulu gaaray, Ifraymu jama kulu nooya.
15And I will cast you out of my sight, as I have cast out all your brethren, even the whole seed of Ephraim.
16Therefore don’t pray for this people, neither lift up a cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me; for I will not hear you.
16 Nin mo, Irimiya, ni ma si adduwa te dumi woone wo se. Ma si jinde tunandi, ma si gaara i se mo. Ma si sasabandiyaŋ ceeci ay gaa mo i se, zama ay si maa ni se.
16Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me; for I will not hear thee.
17Don’t you see what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
17 Ni siino ga di haŋ kaŋ i goono ga te Yahuda galley ra nda Urusalima fondey gaa no?
17Seest thou not what they do in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
18The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead the dough, to make cakes to the queen of the sky, and to pour out drink offerings to other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
18 Zankey goono ga tuuri margu, baabey goono ga danji funsu, wayborey mo goono ga hamni diibi ka te takula, zama ngey ma maasa ton _hando se, kaŋ se i ga ne|_ wayboro bonkoono kaŋ go beene, ngey ma haŋyaŋ sargay soogu mo de-koy fooyaŋ se, zama ngey m'ay yanje ceeci se.
18The children gather wood, and the fathers kindle the fire, and the women knead the dough, to make cakes to the queen of heaven, and to pour out drink-offerings unto other gods, that they may provoke me to anger.
19Do they provoke me to anger? says Yahweh. Don’t they provoke themselves, to the confusion of their own faces?
19 Yanje no i goono ga ceeci ay gaa? Day manti ngey boŋ no i goono ga fisi ka kaa taray, hal i ma haaw? Yaadin no Rabbi ci.
19Do they provoke me to anger? saith Jehovah; [do they] not [provoke] themselves, to the confusion of their own faces?
20Therefore thus says the Lord Yahweh: Behold, my anger and my wrath shall be poured out on this place, on man, and on animal, and on the trees of the field, and on the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.
20 Woodin sabbay se no Rabbi, Koy Beero ci: A go, ay g'ay dukuro d'ay futa gusam nango wo boŋ, boro nda alman, da saajo tuurey, da laabo nafa boŋ. A kulu ga ton, i si danjo wi mo.
20Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, mine anger and my wrath shall be poured out upon this place, upon man, and upon beast, and upon the trees of the field, and upon the fruit of the ground; and it shall burn, and shall not be quenched.
21Thus says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel: Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat meat.
21 Yaa no Rabbi Kundeykoyo, Israyla Irikoyo ci: W'araŋ sargayey kaŋ i ga ton gusam araŋ sargayey boŋ, araŋ ma soobay k'i hamo ŋwa.
21Thus saith Jehovah of hosts, the God of Israel: Add your burnt-offerings unto your sacrifices, and eat ye flesh.
22For I didn’t speak to your fathers, nor command them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt offerings or sacrifices:
22 Zama yana salaŋ d'araŋ kaayey, ay man'i lordi mo hano kaŋ hane ay n'i fattandi Misira laabo ra, sargay kaŋ i ton wala sargay waani yaŋ boŋ.
22For I spake not unto your fathers, nor commanded them in the day that I brought them out of the land of Egypt, concerning burnt-offerings or sacrifices:
23but this thing I commanded them, saying, Listen to my voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be my people; and walk in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.
23 Amma hayo wo ay n'i lordi nd'a, ay ne i se: Wa hanga jeeri ka maa ay jinda. Ay mo, ay ga ciya araŋ Irikoyo, araŋ mo ma ciya ay jama. Araŋ ma dira mo fondey kulu kaŋ ay g'araŋ lordi nd'a ra, zama araŋ ma goro baani.
23but this thing I commanded them, saying, Hearken unto my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people; and walk ye in all the way that I command you, that it may be well with you.
24But they didn’t listen nor turn their ear, but walked in their own counsels and in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
24 Amma i mana saal, i mana hanga jeeri mo, amma i na ngey boŋ saaware nda ngey bine sanday laalakoyo gana. I ye da banda, i mana koy jina bo.
24But they hearkened not, nor inclined their ear, but walked in [their own] counsels [and] in the stubbornness of their evil heart, and went backward, and not forward.
25Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt to this day, I have sent to you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:
25 Za hano kaŋ hane araŋ kaayey fun Misira laabo ra ka kaa sohõ, ay goono g'ay tam annabey kulu donton araŋ gaa. Han kulu ay ga soobay k'i donton.
25Since the day that your fathers came forth out of the land of Egypt unto this day, I have sent unto you all my servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them:
26yet they didn’t listen to me, nor inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff: they did worse than their fathers.
26 Kulu nda yaadin i baa si nd'ay. I mana hanga jeeri mo, amma i na ngey jindey sandandi. I goyey bisa i kaayey waney laala yaŋ.
26yet they hearkened not unto me, nor inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff: they did worse than their fathers.
27You shall speak all these words to them; but they will not listen to you: you shall also call to them; but they will not answer you.
27 Ni ga sanni woodin yaŋ kulu ci i se, amma i si hanga jeeri ni se bo. Ni g'i ce, amma i si tu ni se.
27And thou shalt speak all these words unto them; but they will not hearken to thee: thou shalt also call unto them; but they will not answer thee.
28You shall tell them, This is the nation that has not listened to the voice of Yahweh their God, nor received instruction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
28 Ni ga ne i se: «Dumo wo ga ti dumi kaŋ si hanga jeeri Rabbi ngey Irikoyo se, i mana yadda nda goojiyaŋ mo. Cimi bu, baa i meyey ra a daray.»
28And thou shalt say unto them, This is the nation that hath not hearkened to the voice of Jehovah their God, nor received instruction: truth is perished, and is cut off from their mouth.
29Cut off your hair, and throw it away, and take up a lamentation on the bare heights; for Yahweh has rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
29 Ya Urusalima, ma ni boŋ hamno cabu k'a furu, ma bu baray te tondey boŋ, zama Rabbi wangu zamana wo borey kaŋ se a futu, a n'i furu mo.
29Cut off thy hair, [O Jerusalem], and cast it away, and take up a lamentation on the bare heights; for Jehovah hath rejected and forsaken the generation of his wrath.
30For the children of Judah have done that which is evil in my sight, says Yahweh: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.
30 Yahuda izey na laala goy te ay diyaŋ gaa. Yaadin no Rabbi ci. I na ngey fanta harey sinji windo kaŋ i ga ce d'ay maa din ra, zama ngey m'a ziibandi se.
30For the children of Judah have done that which is evil in my sight, saith Jehovah: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to defile it.
31They have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I didn’t command, nor did it come into my mind.
31 I na sududuyaŋ nangu yaŋ cina koyne, Tofet* wane, kaŋ go Hinnom izo gooro ra, zama ngey ma ngey ize arey da ize wayey ton danji ra. Haŋ kaŋ ay mana lordi, a mana baa furo ay bina ra mo.
31And they have built the high places of Topheth, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire; which I commanded not, neither came it into my mind.
32Therefore behold, the days come, says Yahweh, that it shall no more be called Topheth, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of Slaughter: for they shall bury in Topheth, until there is no place to bury.
32 Yaa no Rabbi ci: a go binde, jirbiyaŋ goono ga kaa, kaŋ i si ye ka ne a se Tofet koyne, manti Hinnom izo gooro mo, amma boro wiyaŋ gooru, zama i ga fijiyaŋ te Tofet ra hala nangu si cindi.
32Therefore, behold, the days come, saith Jehovah, that it shall no more be called Topheth, nor The valley of the son of Hinnom, but The valley of Slaughter: for they shall bury in Topheth, till there be no place [to bury].
33The dead bodies of this people shall be food for the birds of the sky, and for the animals of the earth; and none shall frighten them away.
33 Borey wo buukoy ga ciya beene curey da ham farre ŋwaari. Boro si no mo kaŋ g'i gaaray.
33And the dead bodies of this people shall be food for the birds of the heavens, and for the beasts of the earth; and none shall frighten them away.
34Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; for the land shall become a waste.
34 Waato din gaa no ay ga fooru ka haaru jinde, da bine kaani jinde, da arhiiji jinde, da wayhiiji jinde mo naŋ i ma ban Yahuda galley ra, da Urusalima fondey ra mo, zama laabo ga ciya kurmu.
34Then will I cause to cease from the cities of Judah, and from the streets of Jerusalem, the voice of mirth and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom and the voice of the bride; for the land shall become a waste.
