3 Amma Benyamin izey du Israyla izey jama baaru kaŋ i ziji ka koy Mizpa. Kala Israyla izey ne: «Wa ci iri se, mate no goy laalo wo du ka sintin d'a?»
3(Now the children of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel were gone up to Mizpah.) And the children of Israel said, Tell us, how was this wickedness brought to pass?
4The Levite, the husband of the woman who was murdered, answered, “I came into Gibeah that belongs to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge.

4And the Levite, the husband of the woman that was murdered, answered and said, I came into Gibeah that belongeth to Benjamin, I and my concubine, to lodge.
5The men of Gibeah rose against me, and surrounded the house by night. They thought to have slain me, and they forced my concubine, and she is dead.

7 Wa guna binde, araŋ Israyla izey, araŋ kulu. Wa kande araŋ dabarey d'araŋ saawarey mo.»
7Behold, ye children of Israel, all of you, give here your advice and counsel.
8All the people arose as one man, saying, “None of us will go to his tent, neither will any of us turn to his house.

8And all the people arose as one man, saying, We will not any of us go to his tent, neither will we any of us turn unto his house.
9But now this is the thing which we will do to Gibeah: we will go up against it by lot;

13Now therefore deliver up the men, the base fellows, that are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel. But Benjamin would not hearken to the voice of their brethren the children of Israel.
14The children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities to Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.
14 Kala Benyamin izey margu birney ra. I kaa Jibeya zama ngey ma wongu nda Israyla izey.
14And the children of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities unto Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.

18The children of Israel arose, and went up to Bethel, and asked counsel of God; and they said, “Who shall go up for us first to battle against the children of Benjamin?” Yahweh said, “Judah first.”
18 Israyla tun ka koy Betel ka saaware ceeci Irikoy gaa. I ne: «May no ga jin ka sintin ka dira iri se, iri ma koy ka Benyamin izey wongu?» Rabbi ne: «Yahuda no ga sintin ka dira.»
18And the children of Israel arose, and went up to Beth-el, and asked counsel of God; and they said, Who shall go up for us first to battle against the children of Benjamin? And Jehovah said, Judah [shall go up] first.
19The children of Israel rose up in the morning, and encamped against Gibeah.

21The children of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites on that day twenty-two thousand men.
21 Benyamin izey mo fatta Jibeya ra. I na boro zambar waranka cindi hinka leemun parkatak han din hane Israyla izey ra.
21And the children of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites on that day twenty and two thousand men.
22The people, the men of Israel, encouraged themselves, and set the battle again in array in the place where they set themselves in array the first day.
22 Israyla izey jama na ngey boŋ gaabandi. I ye ka wongu daaga sinji, nango kaŋ i na bi wano sinji.
22And the people, the men of Israel, encouraged themselves, and set the battle again in array in the place where they set themselves in array the first day.
23The children of Israel went up and wept before Yahweh until evening; and they asked of Yahweh, saying, “Shall I again draw near to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother?” Yahweh said, “Go up against him.”
Rabbi ne: «Ma koy ka wongu nd'a.»
23And the children of Israel went up and wept before Jehovah until even; and they asked of Jehovah, saying, Shall I again draw nigh to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother? And Jehovah said, Go up against him.
24The children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.
24 Kala Israyla izey maan ngey ma Benyamin izey wongu se zaari hinkanta hane.
24And the children of Israel came near against the children of Benjamin the second day.
25Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.
25 Benyamin mo, Jibeya ra zaari hinkanta hane, i na Israyla wongu. I ye ka boro zambar way cindi ahakku leemun koyne Israyla izey ra, woodin yaŋ kulu mo takubakoyyaŋ no.
25And Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.
26Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came to Bethel, and wept, and sat there before Yahweh, and fasted that day until evening; and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before Yahweh.
26 Gaa no Israyla izey da jama kulu ziji ka koy Betel. I hẽ ka goro noodin Rabbi jine, i mehaw mo zaari woodin kala wiciri kambu. I na sargayyaŋ kaŋ i ga ton da saabuyaŋ sargayyaŋ salle Rabbi jine.
26Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came unto Beth-el, and wept, and sat there before Jehovah, and fasted that day until even; and they offered burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before Jehovah.
27The children of Israel asked of Yahweh (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,
27 Kala Israyla izey na Rabbi hã (zama Irikoy sappa sundurko go noodin jirbey din ra.
27And the children of Israel asked of Jehovah (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,
28and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days), saying, “Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease?” Yahweh said, “Go up; for tomorrow I will deliver him into your hand.”
28 Fineyas, Eliyezar izo, Haruna banda mo, nga no ga kay a jine jirbey din ra.) I ne: «Ay ma ye ka fatta ka wongu nd'ay nya-izo Benyamin, wala ya naŋ.» Rabbi ne: «Ma ziji, zama suba no ay g'a daŋ ni kambe ra.»
28and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days), saying, Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease? And Jehovah said, Go up; for to-morrow I will deliver him into thy hand.
29Israel set ambushes all around Gibeah.
29 Israyla na boroyaŋ daŋ i ma Jibeya windi ka koy te gumandi izeyaŋ.
29And Israel set liers-in-wait against Gibeah round about.
30The children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and set themselves in array against Gibeah, as at other times.
30 Israyla izey ye ka koy ka wongu nda Benyamin izey zaari hinzanta ra. I na wongu daaga sinji Jibeya se, danga mate kaŋ i doona ka te waato.
30And the children of Israel went up against the children of Benjamin on the third day, and set themselves in array against Gibeah, as at other times.
31The children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to strike and kill of the people, as at other times, in the highways, of which one goes up to Bethel, and the other to Gibeah, in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
31 Benyamin izey binde fatta zama ngey ma jama wongu, amma i n'i candi k'i fay da birno. Hal i sintin ka borey kar, i goono g'i wi sanda doŋ wano fondey boŋ, kaŋ afo ga koy Betel, afa mo ga koy Jibeya. Israyla boro waranza cine no i wi saajo ra.
31And the children of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to smite and kill of the people, as at other times, in the highways, of which one goeth up to Beth-el, and the other to Gibeah, in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
32The children of Benjamin said, “They are struck down before us, as at the first.” But the children of Israel said, “Let us flee, and draw them away from the city to the highways.”
32 Kala Benyamin izey ne: «I go ga kaŋ iri jine no sanda waato.» Amma Israyla izey ne: «Naŋ iri ma zuru k'i candi, i ma fay da birno ka koy fondey gaa.»
32And the children of Benjamin said, They are smitten down before us, as at the first. But the children of Israel said, Let us flee, and draw them away from the city unto the highways.
33All the men of Israel rose up out of their place, and set themselves in array at Baal Tamar: and the ambushers of Israel broke forth out of their place, even out of Maareh Geba.
33 Israyla alborey kulu binde tun nangey kaŋ yaŋ i go waato ka wongu daaga sinji Baal-Tamar. Israyla izey gumandi izey, ngey mo bagu ka tun ngey tuguyaŋ nango ra, danga Maarek-Jibeya nooya.
33And all the men of Israel rose up out of their place, and set themselves in array at Baal-tamar: and the liers-in-wait of Israel brake forth out of their place, even out of Maareh-geba.
34There came over against Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and the battle was severe; but they didn’t know that evil was close on them.
34 Israyla kulu ra boro suubanante zambar way no ka daŋandi ka kaa ngey ma Jibeya wongu se. Wongo go mo, a koroŋ, amma i mana bay hala taabi ga ba ka du ngey.
34And there came over against Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and the battle was sore; but they knew not that evil was close upon them.
35Yahweh struck Benjamin before Israel; and the children of Israel destroyed of Benjamin that day twenty-five thousand one hundred men: all these drew the sword.
35 Rabbi na Benyamin kar mo Israyla jine. Israyla na Benyamin izey mallaka zaari woodin ra, boro zambar waranka cindi gu da zangu fo, kaŋ woodin yaŋ kulu takubakoyyaŋ no.
35And Jehovah smote Benjamin before Israel; and the children of Israel destroyed of Benjamin that day twenty and five thousand and a hundred men: all these drew the sword.
36So the children of Benjamin saw that they were struck; for the men of Israel gave place to Benjamin, because they trusted the ambushers whom they had set against Gibeah.
36 Benyamin izey binde bay kaŋ i na ngey kar ka zeeri, zama Israyla izey na Benyamin izey no batama zama i goono ga de ngey gumandi izey gaa, kaŋ yaŋ i tugu Jibeya se.
36So the children of Benjamin saw that they were smitten; for the men of Israel gave place to Benjamin, because they trusted unto the liers-in-wait whom they had set against Gibeah.
37The ambushers hurried, and rushed on Gibeah; and the ambushers drew themselves along, and struck all the city with the edge of the sword.
37 Kala gumandi izey tun da cahãyaŋ ka daabu Jibeya boŋ. Gumandi izey binde sasare care gaa ka feeri. I na birno kulu kar da takuba.
37And the liers-in-wait hasted, and rushed upon Gibeah; and the liers-in-wait drew themselves along, and smote all the city with the edge of the sword.
38Now the appointed sign between the men of Israel and the ambushers was that they should make a great cloud of smoke rise up out of the city.
38 Seeda neeya kaŋ i soola gumandi izey da Israyla izey game ra: i ma dullu boobo tunandi birno ra.
38Now the appointed sign between the men of Israel and the liers-in-wait was, that they should make a great cloud of smoke rise up out of the city.
39The men of Israel turned in the battle, and Benjamin began to strike and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons; for they said, “Surely they are struck down before us, as in the first battle.”
39 Israyla borey mo bare wongo ra. (Amma Benyamin sintin ka Israyla borey kar, sanda boro waranza cine kaŋ i wi. I ne: «Haciika, i taabi iri jine sanda mate kaŋ cine i jin ka te sintinay wongo ra»).
39And the men of Israel turned in the battle, and Benjamin began to smite and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons; for they said, Surely they are smitten down before us, as in the first battle.
40But when the cloud began to arise up out of the city in a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them; and behold, the whole of the city went up in smoke to the sky.
40 Amma saaya kaŋ cine dullo sintin ka ciciri ka tun birno ra, sanda sari salleyaŋ cine, Benyamin dumey zagu, i di birno kulu go, a goobara go ga ziji beene.
40But when the cloud began to arise up out of the city in a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them; and, behold, the whole of the city went up [in smoke] to heaven.
41The men of Israel turned, and the men of Benjamin were dismayed; for they saw that evil had come on them.
41 Israyla borey mo bare, Benyamin borey biney mo pati, zama i faham kaŋ ngey furo kambe.
41And the men of Israel turned, and the men of Benjamin were dismayed; for they saw that evil was come upon them.
42Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel to the way of the wilderness; but the battle followed hard after them; and those who came out of the cities destroyed them in its midst.
42 Woodin se no i na banda no Israyla borey se ka saajo fonda gana. Amma wongo n'i haabu ka gaaray. Borey kaŋ yaŋ ga fun birney ra mo n'i daŋ bindi. I n'i mallaka parkatak!
42Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel unto the way of the wilderness; but the battle followed hard after them; and they that came out of the cities destroyed them in the midst thereof.
43They surrounded the Benjamites, chased them, and trod them down at their resting place, as far as over against Gibeah toward the sunrise.
43 I na Benyamin windi nangu kulu, i n'i haabu ka gaaray. I n'i to fulanzamyaŋo do, ka koy hala wayna funay hara, Jibeya jarga.
43They inclosed the Benjamites round about, [and] chased them, [and] trod them down at [their] resting-place, as far as over against Gibeah toward the sunrising.
44There fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these were men of valor.
44 Benyamin wane alboro zambar way cindi ahakku no ka bu, woodin yaŋ kulu mo yaarukomyaŋ no.
44And there fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these [were] men of valor.
45They turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men, and followed hard after them to Gidom, and struck of them two thousand men.
45 I bare ka zuru ka koy saajo ra hala Rimmon tondo do haray. I ra Israyla na boro zambar gu kumna-kumna fondey boŋ. I n'i haabu ka gaaray kala Jidom k'i boro zambar hinka wi koyne.
45And they turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of Rimmon: and they gleaned of them in the highways five thousand men, and followed hard after them unto Gidom, and smote of them two thousand men.
46So that all who fell that day of Benjamin were twenty-five thousand men who drew the sword; all these were men of valor.
46 Han din hane Benyamin wane kaŋ yaŋ bu, i timmanta boro zambar waranka cindi gu no, takubakoyyaŋ, kaŋ woodin yaŋ kulu yaarukomyaŋ no.
46So that all who fell that day of Benjamin were twenty and five thousand men that drew the sword; all these [were] men of valor.
47But six hundred men turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon, and stayed in the rock of Rimmon four months.
47 Amma boro zangu iddu bare ka zuru ka koy ganjo ra, kala Rimmon tondo ra. I goro Rimmon tondo ra handu taaci.
47But six hundred men turned and fled toward the wilderness unto the rock of Rimmon, and abode in the rock of Rimmon four months.
48The men of Israel turned again on the children of Benjamin, and struck them with the edge of the sword, both the entire city, and the livestock, and all that they found: moreover all the cities which they found they set on fire.
48 Kala Israyla izey bare ka fay da Benyamin izey. I n'i kar da takuba, birno kulu da hawey da hay kulu kaŋ i gar. Birney kulu kaŋ i gar mo, i na danji daŋ i gaa.
48And the men of Israel turned again upon the children of Benjamin, and smote them with the edge of the sword, both the entire city, and the cattle, and all that they found: moreover all the cities which they found they set on fire.
