Malachi

1

1An oracle: the word of Yahweh to Israel by Malachi.
1 Rabbi sanno kaŋ kaa Malaci do Israyla* se, a feerijo neeya:
1The burden of the word of Jehovah to Israel by Malachi.
2“I have loved you,” says Yahweh. Yet you say, “How have you loved us?” “Wasn’t Esau Jacob’s brother?” says Yahweh, “Yet I loved Jacob;
2 Rabbi ne: «Ay ga ba araŋ.» Amma araŋ ne: «Man no ni ga ba iri, binde?» Rabbi ne: «To, Isuwa manti Yakuba beere no? Kulu nda yaadin ay ba Yakuba,
2I have loved you, saith Jehovah. Yet ye say, Wherein hast thou loved us? Was not Esau Jacob's brother, saith Jehovah: yet I loved Jacob;
3but Esau I hated, and made his mountains a desolation, and gave his heritage to the jackals of the wilderness.”
3 amma ay konna Isuwa. Ay n'a tondi kuukey mo ciya koonu. A tubo mo, ay n'a no saajo zoŋey se.»
3but Esau I hated, and made his mountains a desolation, and [gave] his heritage to the jackals of the wilderness.
4Whereas Edom says, “We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places”; thus says Yahweh of Armies, “They shall build, but I will throw down; and men will call them ‘The Wicked Land,’ even the people against whom Yahweh shows wrath forever.”
4 Baa day kaŋ Edom ne: «Iri na goobu haŋ amma iri ga ye k'iri kurmey cina.» Haŋ kaŋ Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci neeya: «I ga cina, amma ay g'a zeeri. Borey ga ne i se laala laabu, da boroyaŋ kaŋ Rabbi futu i se hal abada.»
4Whereas Edom saith, We are beaten down, but we will return and build the waste places; thus saith Jehovah of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and men shall call them The border of wickedness, and The people against whom Jehovah hath indignation for ever.
5Your eyes will see, and you will say, “Yahweh is great—even beyond the border of Israel!”
5 Araŋ moy ga di, araŋ ma ne mo: «I ma Rabbi beerandi hal a ma bisa baa Israyla laabo hirro me.»
5And your eyes shall see, and ye shall say, Jehovah be magnified beyond the border of Israel.
6“A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If I am a father, then where is my honor? And if I am a master, where is the respect due me? Says Yahweh of Armies to you, priests, who despise my name. You say, ‘How have we despised your name?’
6 Ize ga nga baaba beerandi, tam mo ga nga koyo beerandi. Da binde ay wo baaba no, man ay beera? Wala d'ay ya tamey koy no, man ay gaakuro? Yaadin no Rabbi Kundeykoyo go ga ne araŋ se, ya araŋ alfagey, kaŋ yaŋ goono ga donda ay maa! Amma araŋ go ga ne: «Man gaa binde no iri donda ni maa?»
6A son honoreth his father, and a servant his master: if then I am a father, where is mine honor? and if I am a master, where is my fear? saith Jehovah of hosts unto you, O priests, that despise my name. And ye say, Wherein have we despised thy name?
7You offer polluted bread on my altar. You say, ‘How have we polluted you?’ In that you say, ‘Yahweh’s table contemptible.’
7 To, zama araŋ goono ga ŋwaari ziibo salle ay sargay feema boŋ, araŋ ga ne mo: «Man gaa no iri na ni ziibandi?» To, nga ga ti waati kaŋ cine araŋ ga ne: «Rabbi taablo ya dondayaŋ hari no.»
7Ye offer polluted bread upon mine altar. And ye say, Wherein have we polluted thee? In that ye say, The table of Jehovah is contemptible.
8When you offer the blind for sacrifice, isn’t that evil? And when you offer the lame and sick, isn’t that evil? Present it now to your governor! Will he be pleased with you? Or will he accept your person?” says Yahweh of Armies.
8 Alwaati kaŋ araŋ ga hay fo danaw salle sargay se, haba! manti hari laalo no bo? Waati kaŋ araŋ ga fanakey da zaŋaykomey salle, haba! woodin manti hay fo laalo no bo? Doŋ, ma konda woodin sohõ ka no ni mayraykoyo se ka di hal a ga maa ni kaani! A ga ni ta mo, wala? Yaadin no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci.
8And when ye offer the blind for sacrifice, it is no evil! and when ye offer the lame and sick, it is no evil! Present it now unto thy governor; will he be pleased with thee? or will he accept thy person? saith Jehovah of hosts.
9“Now, please entreat the favor of God , that he may be gracious to us. With this, will he accept any of you?” says Yahweh of Armies.
9 Sohõ binde, ay g'araŋ ŋwaaray, wa Irikoy gomno ceeci, zama a ma bakar iri se. Amma da _sargay|_ woodin dumi go araŋ kambe ra, a ga boro fo ta araŋ ra, wala? Yaadin no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci.
9And now, I pray you, entreat the favor of God, that he may be gracious unto us: this hath been by your means: will he accept any of your persons? saith Jehovah of hosts.
10“Oh that there were one among you who would shut the doors, that you might not kindle fire on my altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you,” says Yahweh of Armies, “neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
10 Doŋ day da baa boro folloŋ go no araŋ game ra kaŋ ga Irikoy fuwo windi meyey daabu, hal araŋ ma si ye ka danji diyandi ay sargay feema boŋ yaamo! Ay si maa araŋ kaani, ay si sargay mo ta araŋ kambey ra. Yaadin no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci.
10Oh that there were one among you that would shut the doors, that ye might not kindle [fire on] mine altar in vain! I have no pleasure in you, saith Jehovah of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
11For from the rising of the sun even to the going down of the same, my name is great among the nations, and in every place incense will be offered to my name, and a pure offering: for my name is great among the nations,” says Yahweh of Armies.
11 Zama za wayna funyaŋ ka koy hal a kaŋyaŋ, ay maa ga ciya ibeeri dumi cindey game ra. Nangu kulu mo i ga dugu nda sargay hanante salle ay maa se. Zama ay maa ga ciya ibeeri dumi cindey game ra. Yaadin no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci.
11For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name [shall be] great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense [shall be] offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name [shall be] great among the Gentiles, saith Jehovah of hosts.
12“But you profane it, in that you say, ‘Yahweh’s table is polluted, and its fruit, even its food, is contemptible.’
12 Amma araŋ n'a ciya fanta hari, mate kaŋ araŋ goono ga ne: «Rabbi taablo ciya ziibi hari. A nafa mo, kaŋ ga ti a ŋwaaro nooya, ciya dondayaŋ hari.»
12But ye profane it, in that ye say, The table of Jehovah is polluted, and the fruit thereof, even its food, is contemptible.
13You say also, ‘Behold, what a weariness it is!’ and you have sniffed at it,” says Yahweh of Armies; “and you have brought that which was taken by violence, the lame, and the sick; thus you bring the offering. Should I accept this at your hand?” says Yahweh.
13 Koyne, araŋ ne: «A go, taabi woofo dumi no woone?» Araŋ na niine ceeri mo a se. Yaadin no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci. Koyne, araŋ kande hayey kaŋ araŋ kom da gaabi, da alman kaŋ ga simbar, da zaŋaykom. Woodin dumi yaŋ no araŋ goono ga kande sargay. Ay ga woodin yaŋ ta araŋ kambey ra, wala? Yaadin no Rabbi ci.
13Ye say also, Behold, what a weariness is it! and ye have snuffed at it, saith Jehovah of hosts; and ye have brought that which was taken by violence, and the lame, and the sick; thus ye bring the offering: should I accept this at your hand? saith Jehovah.
14“But the deceiver is cursed, who has in his flock a male, and vows, and sacrifices to the Lord a blemished thing; for I am a great King,” says Yahweh of Armies, “and my name is awesome among the nations.”
14 Amma laalante no hiila teeko, bora kaŋ alman aru go a se a kuro ra, amma a sarti banayaŋ se a ma kande hari kaŋ gonda laru k'a sarga* Koy Beero se. Zama ay ya Bonkooni kaŋ ga beeri no. Yaadin no Rabbi Kundeykoyo ci. Ay maa mo humburkumay hari no dumi cindey game ra.
14But cursed be the deceiver, who hath in his flock a male, and voweth, and sacrificeth unto the Lord a blemished thing; for I am a great King, saith Jehovah of hosts, and my name is terrible among the Gentiles.
