Nehemiah

9

1Now in the twenty-fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackcloth, and earth on them.
1 A ciya mo, handu woodin jirbi waranka cindi taacanta hane, Israyla izey kaa ka margu ka mehaw ka bufu zaara haw ngey gaa, ka laabu daŋ ngey boŋey ra.
1Now in the twenty and fourth day of this month the children of Israel were assembled with fasting, and with sackcloth, and earth upon them.
2The seed of Israel separated themselves from all foreigners, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.
2 Israyla kunda na ngey boŋ fay waani ka fun yawey kulu game ra. I kay ka ngey taaley da ngey kaayey laalayaŋey mo ci.
2And the seed of Israel separated themselves from all foreigners, and stood and confessed their sins, and the iniquities of their fathers.
3They stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of Yahweh their God a fourth part of the day; and a fourth part they confessed, and worshiped Yahweh their God.
3 I kay ngey nangey ra ka caw Rabbi ngey Irikoyo asariya* tira ra, danga zaari farsimi taacanta i goono ga kay. Sanda yaadin cine gayyaŋ koyne, i goono ga ngey taali ci ka sududu Rabbi ngey Irikoyo se.
3And they stood up in their place, and read in the book of the law of Jehovah their God a fourth part of the day; and [another] fourth part they confessed, and worshipped Jehovah their God.
4Then Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, and Chenani of the Levites stood up on the stairs, and cried with a loud voice to Yahweh their God.
4 Yesuwa, da Bani, da Kadmiyel, da Sabaniya, da Bunni, da Serebiya, da Bani, da Kanani, i kay Lawi borey kaarimi harey boŋ, ka jinde tunandi nda gaabi Rabbi ngey Irikoyo gaa.
4Then stood up upon the stairs of the Levites, Jeshua, and Bani, Kadmiel, Shebaniah, Bunni, Sherebiah, Bani, [and] Chenani, and cried with a loud voice unto Jehovah their God.
5Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah, said, “Stand up and bless Yahweh your God from everlasting to everlasting! Bessed be your glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise!
5 Gaa no Lawi borey wo: Yesuwa, da Kadmiyel, da Bani, da Hasabneya, da Serebiya, da Hodiya, da Sabaniya, da Petahiya ne: «Wa tun ka kay ka Rabbi araŋ Irikoyo beerandi, nga kaŋ go no za doŋ-doŋ kaŋ sinda me ka koy hal abada abadin. Ni maa darzakoyo, i m'a sifa, ni maa kaŋ ga ti beeraykoy ka bisa albarka nda saabuyaŋ kulu.
5Then the Levites, Jeshua, and Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, [and] Pethahiah, said, Stand up and bless Jehovah your God from everlasting to everlasting; and blessed be thy glorious name, which is exalted above all blessing and praise.
6You are Yahweh, even you alone. You have made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their army, the earth and all things that are on it, the seas and all that is in them, and you preserve them all. The army of heaven worships you.
6 Nin no ga ti Rabbi, ni hinne. Nin no ka beene te, da beeney beena, d'i margey kulu, da ganda mo nda harey kulu kaŋ go a ra, da teekoy da harey kulu kaŋ go i ra; nin no mo g'i kulu hallasi. Beena ra marga mo goono ga sududu ni se.
6Thou art Jehovah, even thou alone; thou hast made heaven, the heaven of heavens, with all their host, the earth and all things that are thereon, the seas and all that is in them, and thou preservest them all; and the host of heaven worshippeth thee.
7You are Yahweh, the God who chose Abram, and brought him out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gave him the name of Abraham,
7 Nin no ga ti Rabbi Irikoy kaŋ na Abram suuban. Ni kand'a ka fun Ur, Kaldancey laabo ra, k'a no nga maa Ibrahim.
7Thou art Jehovah the God, who didst choose Abram, and broughtest him forth out of Ur of the Chaldees, and gavest him the name of Abraham,
8and found his heart faithful before you, and made a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, to give it to his seed, and have performed your words; for you are righteous.
8 Ni n'a bina gar mo naanaykoy ni jine.
8and foundest his heart faithful before thee, and madest a covenant with him to give the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite, and the Girgashite, to give it unto his seed, and hast performed thy words; for thou art righteous.
9“You saw the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their cry by the Red Sea ,
9 Koyne, ni di iri kaayey kankamo Misira laabo ra, ni maa i hẽeno mo Teeku Cira me gaa.
9And thou sawest the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heardest their cry by the Red Sea,
10and showed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, and against all his servants, and against all the people of his land; for you knew that they dealt proudly against them, and made a name for yourself, as it is this day.
10and showedst signs and wonders upon Pharaoh, and on all his servants, and on all the people of his land; for thou knewest that they dealt proudly against them, and didst get thee a name, as it is this day.
11You divided the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and you cast their pursuers into the depths, as a stone into the mighty waters.
11 Ni na teeko fay mo Israyla jine, hal a te mate kaŋ i ga hin ka bisa laabu kogo boŋ teeko bindi ra. I ce banda ganakoy mo, ni n'i furu guusuyaŋey ra, danga day tondi kaŋ i taŋ hari bambata ra.
11And thou didst divide the sea before them, so that they went through the midst of the sea on the dry land; and their pursuers thou didst cast into the depths, as a stone into the mighty waters.
12Moreover, in a pillar of cloud you led them by day; and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light in the way in which they should go.
12 Woodin banda mo ni furo i jine zaari buru sari himandi ra, cin mo danji sari himandi ra, zama ni m'i no kaari fonda kaŋ i ga gana din ra.
12Moreover in a pillar of cloud thou leddest them by day; and in a pillar of fire by night, to give them light in the way wherein they should go.
13“You came down also on Mount Sinai, and spoke with them from heaven, and gave them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments,
13 Ni zumbu Sinayi tondo boŋ mo. Ni salaŋ d'ey mo, ni jinda fun beena ra. Ni n'i no adilitaray farilley da asariya cimikoyyaŋ, da hin sanney da lordi hanno yaŋ.
13Thou camest down also upon mount Sinai, and spakest with them from heaven, and gavest them right ordinances and true laws, good statutes and commandments,
14and made known to them your holy Sabbath, and commanded them commandments, and statutes, and a law, by Moses your servant,
14 Ni n'i bayrandi da ni asibti* hananta mo, k'i no lordiyaŋ da hin sanniyaŋ, da asariya mo ni tamo Musa kambe ra.
14and madest known unto them thy holy sabbath, and commandedst them commandments, and statutes, and a law, by Moses thy servant,
15and gave them bread from the sky for their hunger, and brought forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and commanded them that they should go in to possess the land which you had sworn to give them.
15 Ni n'i no ŋwaaro mo kaŋ fun beene kaŋ g'i hara safar, i jawo se mo ni na hari kaa taray a ma fun tondo ra. Ni n'i lordi mo ka ne i ma furo ka laabo ŋwa, wo kaŋ ni jin ka ze d'a i se ka ne ni g'i no nd'a din.
15and gavest them bread from heaven for their hunger, and broughtest forth water for them out of the rock for their thirst, and commandedst them that they should go in to possess the land which thou hadst sworn to give them.
16“But they and our fathers dealt proudly and hardened their neck, didn’t listen to your commandments,
16 Amma ngey, iri kaayey nooya, i na boŋbeeray goy te, i na ngey hangey sandandi, i mana hangan ni lordey se mo.
16But they and our fathers dealt proudly and hardened their neck, and hearkened not to thy commandments,
17and refused to obey, neither were they mindful of your wonders that you did among them, but hardened their neck, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage. But you are a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and didn’t forsake them.
17 I wangu ka gana, i mana fongu mo ni dambara goyey gaa, kaŋ ni goy i game ra din, amma i na ngey hangey sandandi. I murteyaŋo ra mo i na jine boro fo daŋ zama ngey ma ye tamtara ra. Amma ni ya Irikoy kaŋ soola yaafayaŋ se no, gomni nda suuji Koy mo no, kaŋ ga munye bine tunyaŋ gaa, kaŋ gonda baakasinay suuji yulwante, ni mana i furu mo.
17and refused to obey, neither were mindful of thy wonders that thou didst among them, but hardened their neck, and in their rebellion appointed a captain to return to their bondage. But thou art a God ready to pardon, gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in lovingkindness, and forsookest them not.
18Yes, when they had made them a molten calf, and said, ‘This is your God who brought you up out of Egypt,’ and had committed awful blasphemies;
18 Oho, baa waato kaŋ i na sooguyaŋ handayze te ngey boŋ se ka ne: ‹Woone ni Irikoyo no kaŋ na ni kaa Misira laabo ra!› i na ni zokoti mo sorro boobo nda ngey goyey.
18Yea, when they had made them a molten calf, and said, This is thy God that brought thee up out of Egypt, and had wrought great provocations;
19yet you in your manifold mercies didn’t forsake them in the wilderness: the pillar of cloud didn’t depart from over them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to show them light, and the way in which they should go.
19 Kulu nda yaadin ni suuji booba sabbay se ni mana i furu saajo ra. Buru sari himandi mana tun i boŋ do ka fay d'ey zaari ra, amma a furo i jine fonda ra. Cin mo danji sari himandi ga kaari cabe i se, da fondo mo kaŋ i ga gana.
19yet thou in thy manifold mercies forsookest them not in the wilderness: the pillar of cloud departed not from over them by day, to lead them in the way; neither the pillar of fire by night, to show them light, and the way wherein they should go.
20You gave also your good Spirit to instruct them, and didn’t withhold your manna from their mouth, and gave them water for their thirst.
20 Ni n'i no ni Biya Hanna mo a m'i dondonandi. Ni mana ni Manna* ganji mo i meyey se, ni n'i no hari i jaw maayaŋo se mo.
20Thou gavest also thy good Spirit to instruct them, and withheldest not thy manna from their mouth, and gavest them water for their thirst.
21“Yes, forty years you sustained them in the wilderness. They lacked nothing. Their clothes didn’t grow old, and their feet didn’t swell.
21 Oho, hala jiiri waytaaci no ni n'i laamey bana saajo ra, kaŋ i mana jaŋ hay kulu. I bankaarayey mana zeen, i cey mo mana fuusu.
21Yea, forty years didst thou sustain them in the wilderness, [and] they lacked nothing; their clothes waxed not old, and their feet swelled not.
22Moreover you gave them kingdoms and peoples, which you allotted according to their portions. So they possessed the land of Sihon, even the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan.
22 Ni n'i no mo mayray ndunnya dumi cindey boŋ. Ni fay-fay i se mo i ibaay boŋ. Yaadin no i na Sihon mayra ta d'a, danga Hesbon bonkoono laabo nooya, nga nda Basan bonkoono Og laabo.
22Moreover thou gavest them kingdoms and peoples, which thou didst allot after their portions: so they possessed the land of Sihon, even the land of the king of Heshbon, and the land of Og king of Bashan.
23You also multiplied their children as the stars of the sky, and brought them into the land concerning which you said to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it.
23 Ni n'i izey baayaŋ labu-care mo sanda beene handariyayzey cine. Ni kand'ey laabu wo ra kaŋ ni ci i kaayey se ka ne i ga furo k'a ŋwa.
23Their children also multipliedst thou as the stars of heaven, and broughtest them into the land concerning which thou didst say to their fathers, that they should go in to possess it.
24“So the children went in and possessed the land, and you subdued before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gave them into their hands, with their kings, and the peoples of the land, that they might do with them as they pleased.
24 Yaadin cine no izey din furo nd'a ka laabo koytara ŋwa. Ni na laabo din borey daŋ i mayray cire mo, sanda Kanaanancey nooya. Ni n'i daŋ i kambe ra, ngey nda ngey koyey kulu, da laabo din dumey, zama i ma te i se hay kulu kaŋ i ga ba.
24So the children went in and possessed the land, and thou subduedst before them the inhabitants of the land, the Canaanites, and gavest them into their hands, with their kings, and the peoples of the land, that they might do with them as they would.
25They took fortified cities, and a rich land, and possessed houses full of all good things, cisterns dug out, vineyards, and olive groves, and fruit trees in abundance. So they ate, were filled, became fat, and delighted themselves in your great goodness.
I binde ŋwa ka kungu ka naasu. I na ndunnya kaani maayaŋ waate ŋwa ni gomni beero ra.
25And they took fortified cities, and a fat land, and possessed houses full of all good things, cisterns hewn out, vineyards, and oliveyards, and fruit-trees in abundance: so they did eat, and were filled, and became fat, and delighted themselves in thy great goodness.
26“Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against you, and cast your law behind their back, and killed your prophets that testified against them to turn them again to you, and they committed awful blasphemies.
26 Kulu nda yaadin i wangu ka ni gana, i murte ni gaa, i na ni asariya furu ngey banda mo. Ni annabey kaŋ yaŋ na seeda te i boŋ ka miila ngey ma ye ka kand'ey ni do, i n'i wi. I na ni zokotiyaŋ goy boobo te.
26Nevertheless they were disobedient, and rebelled against thee, and cast thy law behind their back, and slew thy prophets that testified against them to turn them again unto thee, and they wrought great provocations.
27Therefore you delivered them into the hand of their adversaries, who distressed them. In the time of their trouble, when they cried to you, you heard from heaven; and according to your manifold mercies you gave them saviors who saved them out of the hand of their adversaries.
27 Woodin se no ni n'i daŋ i ibarey kambe ra, ngey mo n'i taabandi. I kankamo ra mo, waato kaŋ i hẽ ni gaa, ni maa i se beene. Ni suuji booba boŋ mo ni n'i no faabakoyaŋ kaŋ g'i faaba i ibarey kambey ra.
27Therefore thou deliveredst them into the hand of their adversaries, who distressed them: and in the time of their trouble, when they cried unto thee, thou heardest from heaven; and according to thy manifold mercies thou gavest them saviours who saved them out of the hand of their adversaries.
28But after they had rest, they did evil again before you; therefore left you them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them; yet when they returned, and cried to you, you heard from heaven; and many times you delivered them according to your mercies,
28 Amma waato kaŋ i fulanzam din banda, kal i ye ka goy laalo te ni jine. Woodin se no ni n'i naŋ i ibarey kambey ra, hal i du i mayray k'i dabari. Kulu nda yaadin, waato kaŋ i ye ka kaa ka hẽ ni gaa, ni go beene, ni maa i se, sorro boobo mo no ni n'i faaba ni suujo boŋ.
28But after they had rest, they did evil again before thee; therefore leftest thou them in the hand of their enemies, so that they had the dominion over them: yet when they returned, and cried unto thee, thou heardest from heaven; and many times didst thou deliver them according to thy mercies,
29and testified against them, that you might bring them again to your law. Yet they dealt proudly, and didn’t listen to your commandments, but sinned against your ordinances, (which if a man does, he shall live in them), turned their backs, stiffened their neck, and would not hear.
29 Ni na seeda te mo i boŋ, zama ni ma ye ka kand'ey ni asariya do. Kulu nda yaadin, i na boŋbeeray goy te. I mana hangan ni lordey se, amma i na zunubi te ka ni farilley furu, (farilley kaŋ yaŋ da boro n'i goy, i ga naŋ bora ma funa). I na jase saku ka ngey hangey sandandi ka wangu ka maa.
29and testifiedst against them, that thou mightest bring them again unto thy law. Yet they dealt proudly, and hearkened not unto thy commandments, but sinned against thine ordinances, (which if a man do, he shall live in them,) and withdrew the shoulder, and hardened their neck, and would not hear.
30Yet many years you put up with them, and testified against them by your Spirit through your prophets. Yet would they not give ear. Therefore you gave them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.
30 Amma jiiri boobo ni go ga suuru i se, ni na seeda te i boŋ mo nda ni Biya ni annabey meyey ra. Hala hõ mo i wangu ka hanga jeeri. Woodin se no ni n'i daŋ laabu cindey dumey kambe ra.
30Yet many years didst thou bear with them, and testifiedst against them by thy Spirit through thy prophets: yet would they not give ear: therefore gavest thou them into the hand of the peoples of the lands.
31“Nevertheless in your manifold mercies you did not make a full end of them, nor forsake them; for you are a gracious and merciful God.
31 Kulu nda yaadin ni mana i halaci ni suuji booba ra, ni mana i furu mo, zama nin, ya Irikoy, ni ya suuji nda gomnikoy no.
31Nevertheless in thy manifold mercies thou didst not make a full end of them, nor forsake them; for thou art a gracious and merciful God.
32Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the awesome God, who keeps covenant and loving kindness, don’t let all the travail seem little before you, that has come on us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all your people, since the time of the kings of Assyria to this day.
32 Sohõ binde, ya iri Irikoyo, Beeraykoy, Hinkoy, Irikoy kaŋ ga humburandi, kaŋ ga haggoy da alkawli nda baakasinay suuji, taabo wo kulu, ni ma s'a himandi hay fo kayna ni jine. Taabo wo kaa iri nd'iri bonkooney, d'iri laabukoyey, d'iri alfagey, d'iri annabey, d'iri kaayey, da ni jama kulu gaa, za Assiriya bonkooney zamana ra hala ka kaa hunkuna.
32Now therefore, our God, the great, the mighty, and the terrible God, who keepest covenant and lovingkindness, let not all the travail seem little before thee, that hath come upon us, on our kings, on our princes, and on our priests, and on our prophets, and on our fathers, and on all thy people, since the time of the kings of Assyria unto this day.
33However you are just in all that has come on us; for you have dealt truly, but we have done wickedly;
33 Amma ni wo ga hanan hari kulu kaŋ du iri ra, zama nin no ka cimi goy te, amma iri wo, ilaalo no iri goy.
33Howbeit thou art just in all that is come upon us; for thou hast dealt truly, but we have done wickedly;
34neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept your law, nor listened to your commandments and your testimonies with which you testified against them.
34 Zama iri bonkooney, d'iri laabukoyey, d'iri alfagey, d'iri kaayey mana ni asariya haggoy. I mana hanga jeeri ni lordey da ni kaseetey gaa mo, nango kaŋ ni kaseeti i gaa.
34neither have our kings, our princes, our priests, nor our fathers, kept thy law, nor hearkened unto thy commandments and thy testimonies wherewith thou didst testify against them.
35For they have not served you in their kingdom, and in your great goodness that you gave them, and in the large and rich land which you gave before them, neither did they turn from their wicked works.
35 Zama i mana may ni se ngey mayray laabo ra, da ni gomni beero mo kaŋ ni no i se din ra da laabu beero kaŋ ni n'i no ra mo, laabu kaŋ gonda albarka. I mana bare mo ka fay da ngey goy laaley.
35For they have not served thee in their kingdom, and in thy great goodness that thou gavest them, and in the large and fat land which thou gavest before them, neither turned they from their wicked works.
36“Behold, we are servants this day, and as for the land that you gave to our fathers to eat its fruit and its good, behold, we are servants in it.
36 Guna, hunkuna iri ya bannyayaŋ no. Laabo kaŋ ni n'iri kaayey no nd'a zama i m'a albarka nd'a nafa ŋwa se mo, a ciine ra iri ya bannyayaŋ no a ra.
36Behold, we are servants this day, and as for the land that thou gavest unto our fathers to eat the fruit thereof and the good thereof, behold, we are servants in it.
37It yields much increase to the kings whom you have set over us because of our sins: also they have power over our bodies, and over our livestock, at their pleasure, and we are in great distress.
37 A goono ga nafa boobo hay mo bonkooney se kaŋ ni dake iri boŋ iri zunubey sabbay se. I gonda hina mo iri d'iri almaney boŋ. I go ga te haŋ kaŋ kaan ngey se, iri mo, iri kayna gumo.
37And it yieldeth much increase unto the kings whom thou hast set over us because of our sins: also they have power over our bodies, and over our cattle, at their pleasure, and we are in great distress.
38Yet for all this, we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, our Levites, and our priests, seal it.”
38 Kulu nda yaadin iri ga naanay alkawli sambu, iri g'a hantum mo. Iri laabukoyey da Lawi borey d'iri alfagey ga kawaatimi kar a gaa.»
38And yet for all this we make a sure covenant, and write it; and our princes, our Levites, [and] our priests, seal unto it.
