1Blessed is he who considers the poor. Yahweh will deliver him in the day of evil.
1 Doonkoy jine bora se. Dawda baytu fo no.
1For the Chief Musician. A Psalm of David. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: Jehovah will deliver him in the day of evil.
2Yahweh will preserve him, and keep him alive. He shall be blessed on the earth, and he will not surrender him to the will of his enemies.
2 Albarkante no boro kaŋ ga taabantey saal, Rabbi g'a faaba taabi zaari ra.
2Jehovah will preserve him, and keep him alive, And he shall be blessed upon the earth; And deliver not thou him unto the will of his enemies.
3Yahweh will sustain him on his sickbed, and restore him from his bed of illness.
3 Rabbi g'a hallasi k'a funandi, A ga ciya albarkante mo ndunnya ra, Ni s'a no nga ibarey ibaayo se mo.
3Jehovah will support him upon the couch of languishing: Thou makest all his bed in his sickness.
4I said, “Yahweh, have mercy on me! Heal me, for I have sinned against you.”
4 Rabbi g'a gaabandi a baani-jaŋay daarijo boŋ. Ni ga daariji hanse a se a dooro ra.
4I said, O Jehovah, have mercy upon me: Heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.
5My enemies speak evil against me: “When will he die, and his name perish?”
5 Ay ne: «Ya Rabbi, ma gomni goy te ay se, M'ay fundo yayandi, zama ay na zunubi te ni se.»
5Mine enemies speak evil against me, [saying], When will he die, and his name perish?
6If he comes to see me, he speaks falsehood. His heart gathers iniquity to itself. When he goes abroad, he tells it.
6 Ay ibarey goono g'ay wow, i goono ga ne: «Waatifo no a ga bu, a maa ma halaci mo?»
6And if he come to see [me], he speaketh falsehood; His heart gathereth iniquity to itself: When he goeth abroad, he telleth it.
7All who hate me whisper together against me. They imagine the worst for me.
7 D'a kaa k'ay kunfa mo, Kala sanni yaamo kaŋ a ga soobay ka ci. A bina goono ga laala margu-margu nga boŋ se, D'a koy taray mo, kala a m'a ci.
7All that hate me whisper together against me; Against me do they devise my hurt.
8“An evil disease,” they say, “has afflicted him. Now that he lies he shall rise up no more.”
8 Borey kaŋ yaŋ ga konna ay kulu goono g'ay ciinay no. I goono g'ay hiila ngey m'ay zamba se, ka ne:
8An evil disease, [say they], cleaveth fast unto him; And now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.
9Yes, my own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, who ate bread with me, has lifted up his heel against me.
9 «Doori laalo fo goono ga naagu a gaa. Sohõ mo kaŋ a ban ka kani wo, a si ye ka tun koyne.»
9Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, Who did eat of my bread, Hath lifted up his heel against me.
10But you, Yahweh, have mercy on me, and raise me up, that I may repay them.
10 Oho, ay cora bumbo, kaŋ ay yadda nd'a, Bora kaŋ n'ay ŋwaaro ŋwa na nga ce konda tunandi ay gaa.
10But thou, O Jehovah, have mercy upon me, and raise me up, That I may requite them.
11By this I know that you delight in me, because my enemy doesn’t triumph over me.
11 Amma nin, ya Rabbi, ma gomni goy te ay se. M'ay tunandi mo, Zama ay ma bana i gaa.
11By this I know that thou delightest in me, Because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
12As for me, you uphold me in my integrity, and set me in your presence forever.
12 Woodin gaa no ay ga bay kaŋ ni ga maa ay kaani, Za kaŋ ay ibara siino ga zamuuyaŋ te ay boŋ.
12And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, And settest me before thy face for ever.
13Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from everlasting and to everlasting! Amen and amen. BOOK II
