1When David was a little past the top, behold, Ziba the servant of Mephibosheth met him, with a couple of donkeys saddled, and on them two hundred loaves of bread, and one hundred clusters of raisins, and one hundred summer fruits, and a bottle of wine.

2The king said to Ziba, What do you mean by these? Ziba said, The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride on; and the bread and summer fruit for the young men to eat; and the wine, that such as are faint in the wilderness may drink.
2ராஜா சீபாவைப்பார்த்து: இவைகள் என்னத்திற்கு என்று கேட்டதற்கு, சீபா: கழுதைகள் ராஜாவின் வீட்டார் ஏறுகிறதற்கும், அப்பங்களும் பழங்களும், வாலிபர் புசிக்கிறதற்கும், திராட்சரசம் வனாந்தரத்தில் விடாய்த்துப்போனவர்கள் குடிக்கிறதற்குமே என்றான்.
3The king said, “Where is your master’s son?” Ziba said to the king, “Behold, he is staying in Jerusalem; for he said, ‘Today the house of Israel will restore me the kingdom of my father.’”
3அப்பொழுது ராஜா: உன் ஆண்டவனுடைய குமாரன் எங்கே என்று கேட்டதற்கு, சீபா ராஜாவை நோக்கி: எருசலேமில் இருக்கிறான்; இன்று இஸ்ரவேல் வீட்டார் என் தகப்பனுடைய ராஜ்யத்தை என் வசமாய்த் திரும்பப்பண்ணுவார்கள் என்றான் என்று சொன்னான்.
4Then the king said to Ziba, “Behold, all that pertains to Mephibosheth is yours.” Ziba said, “I do obeisance. Let me find favor in your sight, my lord, O king.”
4அப்பொழுது ராஜா சீபாவை நோக்கி: மேவிபோசேத்திற்கு உண்டானதெல்லாம் உன்னுடையதாயிற்று என்றான். அதற்குச் சீபா: ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனே, உம்முடைய கண்களில் எனக்குத் தயை கிடைக்கவேண்டும் என்று நான் பணிந்து கேட்டுக்கொள்ளுகிறேன் என்றான்.
5When king David came to Bahurim, behold, a man of the family of the house of Saul came out, whose name was Shimei, the son of Gera. He came out, and cursed still as he came.
5தாவீது ராஜா பகூரிம்மட்டும் வந்தபோது, இதோ, சவுல் வீட்டு வம்சத்தானாயிருக்கிற கேராவின் குமாரனாகிய சீமேயி என்னும் பேருள்ள ஒரு மனுஷன் அங்கேயிருந்து புறப்பட்டு, தூஷித்துக்கொண்டே நடந்துவந்து,
6He cast stones at David, and at all the servants of king David, and all the people and all the mighty men were on his right hand and on his left.
6சகல ஜனங்களும், சகல பலசாலிகளும், தாவீதின் வலதுபுறமாகவும் இடதுபுறமாகவும் நடக்கையில், தாவீதின்மேலும், தாவீது ராஜாவுடைய சகல ஊழியக்காரர்மேலும் கற்களை எறிந்தான்.
7Shimei said when he cursed, “Be gone, be gone, you man of blood, and base fellow!
7சீமேயி அவனைத் தூஷித்து: இரத்தப்பிரியனே, பேலியாளின் மனுஷனே, தொலைந்துபோ, தொலைந்துபோ.
8Yahweh has returned on you all the blood of the house of Saul, in whose place you have reigned! Yahweh has delivered the kingdom into the hand of Absalom your son! Behold, you are caught by your own mischief, because you are a man of blood!”
8சவுலின் ஸ்தலத்தில் ராஜாவான உன்மேல் கர்த்தர் சவுல் வீட்டாரின் இரத்தப்பழியைத் திரும்பப்பண்ணினார்; கர்த்தர் ராஜ்யபாரத்தை உன் குமாரனாகிய அப்சலோமின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்; இப்போதும் இதோ, உன் அக்கிரமத்தில் அகப்பட்டாய்; நீ இரத்தப்பிரியனான மனுஷன் என்றான்.
9Then Abishai the son of Zeruiah said to the king, “Why should this dead dog curse my lord the king? Please let me go over and take off his head.”
9அப்பொழுது செருயாவின் குமாரன் அபிசாய் ராஜாவை நோக்கி: அந்தச் செத்த நாய் ராஜாவாகிய என் ஆண்டவனை தூஷிப்பானேன்? நான் போய் அவன் தலையை வாங்கிப்போடட்டுமே என்றான்.
10The king said, “What have I to do with you, you sons of Zeruiah? Because he curses, and because Yahweh has said to him, ‘Curse David;’ who then shall say, ‘Why have you done so?’”
10அதற்கு ராஜா: செருயாவின் குமாரரே, எனக்கும் உங்களுக்கும் என்ன? அவன் என்னைத் தூஷிக்கட்டும்; தாவீதைத் தூஷிக்கவேண்டும் என்று கர்த்தர் அவனுக்குச் சொன்னார்; ஆகையால் ஏன் இப்படிச் செய்கிறாய் என்று கேட்கத்தக்கவன் யார் என்றான்.
11David said to Abishai, and to all his servants, “Behold, my son, who came forth from my bowels, seeks my life. How much more this Benjamite, now? Leave him alone, and let him curse; for Yahweh has invited him.
11பின்னும் தாவீது அபிசாயையும் தன் ஊழியக்காரர் எல்லாரையும் பார்த்து: இதோ, என் கர்ப்பப்பிறப்பான என் குமாரனே என் பிராணனை வாங்கத் தேடும்போது, இந்தப் பென்யமீனன் எத்தனை அதிகமாய்ச் செய்வான், அவன் தூஷிக்கட்டும்; அப்படிச் செய்ய கர்த்தர் அவனுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டிருக்கிறார்.
12It may be that Yahweh will look on the wrong done to me, and that Yahweh will repay me good for the cursing of me today.”
12ஒருவேளை கர்த்தர் என் சிறுமையைப் பார்த்து, இந்த நாளில் அவன் நிந்தித்த நிந்தனைக்குப் பதிலாக எனக்கு நன்மையைச் சரிக்கட்டுவார் என்றான்.
13So David and his men went by the way; and Shimei went along on the hillside opposite him, and cursed as he went, threw stones at him, and threw dust.
13அப்படியே தாவீதும் அவன் மனுஷரும் வழியே நடந்துபோனார்கள்; சீமேயியும் மலையின் பக்கத்திலே அவனுக்கு எதிராக நடந்து தூஷித்து, அவனுக்கு எதிராகக் கற்களை எறிந்து, மண்ணைத் தூற்றிக்கொண்டே வந்தான்.
14The king, and all the people who were with him, came weary; and he refreshed himself there.
14ராஜாவும் அவனோடிருந்த சகல ஜனங்களும் விடாய்த்தவர்களாய், தங்குமிடத்திலே சேர்ந்து, இளைப்பாறினார்கள்.
15Absalom, and all the people, the men of Israel, came to Jerusalem, and Ahithophel with him.
15அப்சலோமும் இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷராகிய சகல ஜனங்களும் அவனோடேகூட அகித்தோப்பேலும் எருசலேமுக்கு வந்தார்கள்.
16It happened, when Hushai the Archite, David’s friend, had come to Absalom, that Hushai said to Absalom, “Long live the king! Long live the king!”
16அற்கியனாகிய ஊசாய் என்னும் தாவீதின் சிநேகிதன் அப்சலோமிடத்தில் வந்தபோது, ஊசாய் அப்சலோமை நோக்கி: ராஜாவே வாழ்க, ராஜாவே வாழ்க என்றான்.
17Absalom said to Hushai, “Is this your kindness to your friend? Why didn’t you go with your friend?”
17அப்பொழுது அப்சலோம் ஊசாயைப் பார்த்து: உன் சிநேகிதன்மேல் உனக்கு இருக்கிற தயை இதுதானோ? உன் சிநேகிதனோடே நீ போகாதே போனது என்ன என்று கேட்டான்.
18Hushai said to Absalom, “No; but whomever Yahweh, and this people, and all the men of Israel have chosen, his will I be, and with him I will stay.
18அதற்கு ஊசாய் அப்சலோமை நோக்கி: அப்படி அல்ல, கர்த்தரும் இந்த ஜனங்களும் இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷர் அனைவரும் தெரிந்துகொள்ளுகிறவரையே நான் சேர்ந்து அவரோடே இருப்பேன்.
19Again, whom should I serve? Shouldn’t I serve in the presence of his son? As I have served in your father’s presence, so will I be in your presence.”
19இதுவும் அல்லாமல், நான் யாரிடத்தில் சேவிப்பேன்? அவருடைய குமாரனிடத்தில் அல்லவா? உம்முடைய தகப்பனிடத்தில் எப்படி சேவித்தேனோ, அப்படியே உம்மிடத்திலும் சேவிப்பேன் என்றான்.
20Then Absalom said to Ahithophel, “Give your counsel what we shall do.”
20அப்சலோம் அகித்தோப்பேலைப் பார்த்து, நாங்கள் செய்யவேண்டியது இன்னதென்று ஆலோசனை சொல்லும் என்றான்.
21Ahithophel said to Absalom, “Go in to your father’s concubines, that he has left to keep the house. Then all Israel will hear that you are abhorred by your father. Then the hands of all who are with you will be strong.”
21அப்பொழுது அகித்தோப்பேல் அப்சலோமை நோக்கி: வீட்டைக்காக்க உம்முடைய தகப்பன் பின்வைத்த அவருடைய மறுமனையாட்டிகளிடத்தில் பிரவேசியும், அப்பொழுது உம்முடைய தகப்பனுக்கு நாற்றமாய்போனீர் என்பதை இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரும் கேள்விப்பட்டு, உம்மோடிருக்கிற எல்லாருடைய கைகளும் பலக்கும் என்றான்.
22So they spread Absalom a tent on the top of the house; and Absalom went in to his father’s concubines in the sight of all Israel.
22அப்படியே அப்சலோமுக்கு உப்பரிகையின்மேல் ஒரு கூடாரத்தைப் போட்டார்கள்; அங்கே அப்சலோம் சகல இஸ்ரவேலரின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக, தன் தகப்பனுடைய மறுமனையாட்டிகளிடத்தில் பிரவேசித்தான்.
23The counsel of Ahithophel, which he gave in those days, was as if a man inquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.
23அந்நாட்களில் அகித்தோப்பேல் சொல்லும் ஆலோசனை தேவனுடைய வாக்கைப்போல இருந்தது; அப்படி அகித்தோப்பேலின் ஆலோசனையெல்லாம் தாவீதுக்கும் இருந்தது, அப்சலோமுக்கும் அப்படியே இருந்தது.
