¹“‘You shall make for yourselves no idols, neither shall you raise up an engraved image or a pillar, neither shall you place any figured stone in your land, to bow down to it: for I am Yahweh your God.

¹நீங்கள் உங்களுக்கு விக்கிரகங்களையும் சுரூபங்களையும் உண்டாக்காமலும், உங்களுக்குச் சிலையை நிறுத்தாமலும், சித்திரந்தீர்ந்த கல்லை நமஸ்கரிக்கும்பொருட்டு உங்கள் தேசத்தில் வைக்காமலும் இருப்பீர்களாக; நான் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

²“‘You shall keep my Sabbaths, and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am Yahweh.

²என் ஓய்வுநாட்களை ஆசரித்து, என் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தைக்குறித்துப் பயபக்தியாயிருப்பீர்களாக; நான் கர்த்தர்.

³“‘If you walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them;

³நீங்கள் என் கட்டளைகளின்படி நடந்து, என் கற்பனைகளைக் கைக்கொண்டு, அவைகளின்படி செய்தால்,

⁴then I will give you your rains in their season, and the land shall yield its increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.

⁴நான் ஏற்ற காலத்தில் உங்களுக்கு மழை பெய்யப்பண்ணுவேன்; பூமி தன் பலனையும், வெளியிலுள்ள மரங்கள் தங்கள் கனியையும் கொடுக்கும்.

⁵Your threshing shall reach to the vintage, and the vintage shall reach to the sowing time; and you shall eat your bread to the full, and dwell in your land safely.

⁵திராட்சப்பழம் பறிக்குங் காலம் வரைக்கும் போரடிப்புக் காலம் இருக்கும்; விதைப்புக் காலம்வரைக்கும் திராட்சப்பழம் பறிக்குங் காலம் இருக்கும்; நீங்கள் உங்கள் அப்பத்தைத் திருப்தியாகச் சாப்பிட்டு, உங்கள் தேசத்தில் சுகமாய்க் குடியிருப்பீர்கள்.

⁶“‘I will give peace in the land, and you shall lie down, and no one will make you afraid; and I will remove evil animals out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land.

⁶தேசத்தில் சமாதானம் கட்டளையிடுவேன்; தத்தளிக்கப்பண்ணுவார் இல்லாமல் படுத்துக்கொள்வீர்கள்; துஷ்ட மிருகங்களைத் தேசத்தில் இராதபடிக்கு ஒழியப்பண்ணுவேன்; பட்டயம் உங்கள் தேசத்தில் உலாவுவதில்லை.

⁷You shall chase your enemies, and they shall fall before you by the sword.

⁷உங்கள் சத்துருக்களைத் துரத்துவீர்கள்; அவர்கள் உங்கள் முன்பாகப் பட்டயத்தால் விழுவார்கள்.

⁸Five of you shall chase a hundred, and a hundred of you shall chase ten thousand; and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.

⁸உங்களில் ஐந்துபேர் நூறுபேரைத் துரத்துவார்கள்; உங்களில் நூறுபேர் பதினாயிரம்பேரைத் துரத்துவார்கள்; உங்கள் சத்துருக்கள் உங்களுக்கு முன்பாகப் பட்டயத்தால் விழுவார்கள்.

⁹“‘I will have respect for you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and will establish my covenant with you.

⁹நான் உங்கள்மேல் கண்ணோக்கமாயிருந்து, உங்களைப் பலுகவும் பெருகவும் பண்ணி, உங்களோடே என் உடன்படிக்கையைத் திடப்படுத்துவேன்.

¹⁰You shall eat old store long kept, and you shall move out the old because of the new.

¹⁰போன வருஷத்துப் பழைய தானியத்தைச் சாப்பிட்டு, புதிய தானியத்துக்கு இடமுண்டாகும்படி, பழையதை விலக்குவீர்கள்.

¹¹I will set my tent among you: and my soul won’t abhor you.

¹¹உங்கள் நடுவில் என் வாசஸ்தலத்தை ஸ்தாபிப்பேன்; என் ஆத்துமா உங்களை அரோசிப்பதில்லை.

¹²I will walk among you, and will be your God, and you will be my people.

¹²நான் உங்கள் நடுவிலே உலாவி, உங்கள் தேவனாயிருப்பேன், நீங்கள் என் ஜனமாயிருப்பீர்கள்.

¹³I am Yahweh your God, who brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that you should not be their slaves; and I have broken the bars of your yoke, and made you go upright.

¹³நீங்கள் எகிப்தியருக்கு அடிமைகளாயிராதபடிக்கு, நான் அவர்கள் தேசத்திலிருந்து உங்களைப் புறப்படப்பண்ணி, உங்கள் நுகத்தடிகளை முறித்து, உங்களை நிமிர்ந்து நடக்கப்பண்ணின உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

¹⁴“‘But if you will not listen to me, and will not do all these commandments;

¹⁴நீங்கள் எனக்குச் செவிகொடாமலும், இந்தக் கற்பனைகள் எல்லாவற்றின்படி செய்யாமலும்,

¹⁵and if you shall reject my statutes, and if your soul abhors my ordinances, so that you will not do all my commandments, but break my covenant;

¹⁵என் கட்டளைகளை வெறுத்து, உங்கள் ஆத்துமா என் நியாயங்களை அரோசித்து, என் கற்பனைகள் எல்லாவற்றின்படி.யும் செய்யாதபடிக்கு, என் உடன்படிக்கையை நீங்கள் மீறிப்போடுவீர்களாகில்:

¹⁶I also will do this to you: I will appoint terror over you, even consumption and fever, that shall consume the eyes, and make the soul to pine away; and you will sow your seed in vain, for your enemies will eat it.

¹⁶நான் உங்களுக்குச் செய்வது என்னவென்றால், கண்களைப் பூத்துப்போகப்பண்ணுகிறதற்கும், இருதயத்தைத் துயரப்படுத்துகிறதற்கும், திகிலையும் ஈளையையும் காய்ச்சலையும் உங்களுக்கு வரப்பண்ணுவேன்; நீங்கள் விதைக்கும் விதை விருதாவாயிருக்கும்; உங்கள் சத்துருக்கள் அதின் பலனைத் தின்பார்கள்.

¹⁷I will set my face against you, and you will be struck before your enemies. Those who hate you will rule over you; and you will flee when no one pursues you.

¹⁷நான் உங்களுக்கு விரோதமாக என் முகத்தைத் திருப்புவேன்; உங்கள் சத்துருக்களுக்கு முன்பாக முறிய அடிக்கப்படுவீர்கள்; உங்கள் பகைஞர் உங்களை ஆளுவார்கள்; துரத்துவார் இல்லாதிருந்தும் ஓடுவீர்கள்.

¹⁸“‘If you in spite of these things will not listen to me, then I will chastise you seven times more for your sins.

¹⁸இவ்விதமாய் நான் உங்களுக்குச் செய்தும், இன்னும் நீங்கள் எனக்குச் செவிகொடாதிருந்தால், உங்கள் பாவங்களினிமித்தம் பின்னும் ஏழத்தனையாக உங்களைத் தண்டித்து,

¹⁹I will break the pride of your power, and I will make your sky like iron, and your soil like brass;

¹⁹உங்கள் வல்லமையின் பெருமையை முறித்து, உங்கள் வானத்தை இரும்பைப் போலவும், உங்கள் பூமியை வெண்கலத்தைப்போலவும் ஆக்குவேன்.

²⁰and your strength will be spent in vain; for your land won’t yield its increase, neither will the trees of the land yield their fruit.

²⁰உங்கள் பெலன் விருதாவிலே செலவழியும், உங்கள் தேசம் தன் பலனையும், தேசத்தின் மரங்கள் தங்கள் கனிகளையும் கொடுக்கமாட்டாது.

²¹“‘If you walk contrary to me, and won’t listen to me, then I will bring seven times more plagues on you according to your sins.

²¹நீங்கள் எனக்குச் செவிகொடுக்க மனதில்லாமல், எனக்கு எதிர்த்து நடப்பீர்களானால், நான் உங்கள் பாவங்களுக்குத்தக்கதாக இன்னும் ஏழத்தனை வாதையை உங்கள்மேல் வரப்பண்ணி,

²²I will send the wild animals among you, which will rob you of your children, destroy your livestock, and make you few in number; and your roads will become desolate.

²²உங்களுக்குள்ளே வெளியின் துஷ்ட மிருகங்களை வரவிடுவேன்; அவைகள் உங்களைப் பிள்ளைகளற்றவர்களாக்கி, உங்கள் மிருகஜீவன்களை அழித்து, உங்களைக் குறைந்துபோகப்பண்ணும்; உங்கள் வழிகள் பாழாய்க் கிடக்கும்.

²³“‘If by these things you won’t be reformed to me, but will walk contrary to me;

²³நான் செய்யும் தண்டனையினால் நீங்கள் குணப்படாமல், எனக்கு எதிர்த்து நடந்தால்,

²⁴then I will also walk contrary to you; and I will strike you, even I, seven times for your sins.

²⁴நான் உங்களுக்கு எதிர்த்து நடந்து, உங்கள் பாவங்களினிமித்தம் ஏழத்தனையாக வாதித்து,

²⁵I will bring a sword upon you, that will execute the vengeance of the covenant; and you will be gathered together within your cities: and I will send the pestilence among you; and you will be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

²⁵என் உடன்படிக்கையை மீறினதற்குப் பழிவாங்கும் பட்டயத்தை உங்கள்மேல் வரப்பண்ணி, நீங்கள் உங்கள் பட்டணங்களில் சேர்ந்தபின், கொள்ளைநோயை உங்கள் நடுவிலே அனுப்புவேன்; சத்துருவின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்படுவீர்கள்.

²⁶When I break your staff of bread, ten women shall bake your bread in one oven, and they shall deliver your bread again by weight: and you shall eat, and not be satisfied.

²⁶உங்கள் அப்பம் என்னும் ஆதரவு கோலை நான் முறித்துப்போடும்போது, பத்து ஸ்திரீகள் ஒரே அடுப்பில் உங்கள் அப்பத்தைச் சுட்டு, அதைத் திரும்ப உங்களுக்கு நிறுத்துக்கொடுப்பார்கள்; நீங்கள் சாப்பிட்டும் திருப்தியடையமாட்டீர்கள்.

²⁷“‘If you in spite of this won’t listen to me, but walk contrary to me;

²⁷இன்னும் இவைகளெல்லாவற்றாலும் நீங்கள் எனக்குச் செவிகொடாமல், எனக்கு எதிர்த்து நடந்தால்,

²⁸then I will walk contrary to you in wrath; and I also will chastise you seven times for your sins.

²⁸நானும் உக்கிரத்தோடே உங்களுக்கு எதிர்த்து நடந்து, நானே உங்கள் பாவங்களினிமித்தம் உங்களை ஏழத்தனையாய்த் தண்டிப்பேன்.

²⁹You will eat the flesh of your sons, and you will eat the flesh of your daughters.

²⁹உங்கள் குமாரரின் மாம்சத்தையும் உங்கள் குமாரத்திகளின் மாம்சத்தையும் புசிப்பீர்கள்.

³⁰I will destroy your high places, and cut down your incense altars, and cast your dead bodies upon the bodies of your idols; and my soul will abhor you.

³⁰நான் உங்கள் மேடைகளை அழித்து, உங்கள் விக்கிரகச் சிலைகளை நிர்த்தூளியாக்கி, உங்கள் உடல்களை உங்கள் நரகலான தேவர்களுடைய உடல்கள்மேல் எறிவேன்; என் ஆத்துமா உங்களை அரோசிக்கும்.

³¹I will lay your cities waste, and will bring your sanctuaries to desolation, and I will not take delight in the sweet fragrance of your offerings.

³¹நான் உங்கள் பட்டணங்களை வெறுமையும், உங்கள் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலங்களைப் பாழுமாக்கி, உங்கள் சுகந்த வாசனையை முகராதிருப்பேன்.

³²I will bring the land into desolation; and your enemies that dwell therein will be astonished at it.

³²நான் தேசத்தைப் பாழாக்குவேன்; அதிலே குடியிருக்கிற உங்கள் சத்துருக்கள் பிரமிப்பார்கள்.

³³I will scatter you among the nations, and I will draw out the sword after you: and your land will be a desolation, and your cities shall be a waste.

³³ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே உங்களைச் சிதற அடித்து, உங்கள் பின்னாகப் பட்டயத்தை உருவுவேன்; உங்கள் தேசம் பாழும், உங்கள் பட்டணங்கள் வனாந்தரமுமாகும்.

³⁴Then the land will enjoy its sabbaths as long as it lies desolate and you are in your enemies’ land. Even then the land will rest and enjoy its sabbaths.

³⁴நீங்கள் உங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் தேசத்தில் இருக்கும்போது, தேசமானது பாழாய்க்கிடக்கிற நாளெல்லாம் தன் ஓய்வுநாட்களை இரம்மியமாய் அநுபவிக்கும்; அப்பொழுது தேசம் ஓய்வடைந்து, தன் ஓய்வுநாட்களை இரம்மியமாய் அநுபவிக்கும்.

³⁵As long as it lies desolate it shall have rest, even the rest which it didn’t have in your sabbaths, when you lived on it.

³⁵நீங்கள் அதிலே குடியிருக்கும்போது, அது உங்கள் ஓய்வு வருஷங்களில் ஓய்வடையாதபடியினாலே, அது பாழாய்க்கிடக்கும் நாளெல்லாம் ஓய்வடைந்திருக்கும்.

³⁶“‘As for those of you who are left, I will send a faintness into their hearts in the lands of their enemies: and the sound of a driven leaf will put them to flight; and they shall flee, as one flees from the sword; and they will fall when no one pursues.

³⁶உங்களில் உயிரோடு மீதியாயிருப்பவர்களின் இருதயங்கள் தங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் தேசங்களில் மனத்தளர்ச்சி அடையும்படி செய்வேன்; அசைகிற இலையின் சத்தமும் அவர்களை ஓட்டும்; அவர்கள் பட்டயத்திற்குத் தப்பி ஓடுகிறது போல ஓடி, துரத்துவார் இல்லாமல் விழுவார்கள்.

³⁷They will stumble over one another, as it were before the sword, when no one pursues: and you will have no power to stand before your enemies.

³⁷துரத்துவார் இல்லாமல், பட்டயத்துக்கு முன் விழுவதுபோல, ஒருவர்மேல் ஒருவர் இடறிவிழுவார்கள்; உங்கள் சத்துருக்களுக்குமுன் நிற்க உங்களுக்குப் பெலன் இராது.

³⁸You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will eat you up.

³⁸புறஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே அழிந்துபோவீர்கள்; உங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் தேசம் உங்களைப் பட்சிக்கும்.

³⁹Those of you who are left will pine away in their iniquity in your enemies’ lands; and also in the iniquities of their fathers shall they pine away with them.

³⁹உங்களில் தப்பினவர்கள் தங்கள் அக்கிரமங்களினிமித்தமும், தங்கள் பிதாக்களின் அக்கிரமங்களினிமித்தமும், உங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் தேசங்களில் வாடிப்போவார்கள்.

⁴⁰“‘If they confess their iniquity, and the iniquity of their fathers, in their trespass which they trespassed against me, and also that, because they walked contrary to me,

⁴⁰அவர்கள் எனக்கு விரோதமாகத் துரோகம்பண்ணி நடப்பித்த தங்கள் அக்கிரமத்தையும், தங்கள் பிதாக்களின் அக்கிரமத்தையும் அறிக்கையிடுகிறதுமன்றி,

⁴¹I also walked contrary to them, and brought them into the land of their enemies: if then their uncircumcised heart is humbled, and they then accept the punishment of their iniquity;

⁴¹அவர்கள் எனக்கு எதிர்த்து நடந்தபடியினால், நானும் அவர்களுக்கு எதிர்த்து நடந்து, அவர்களுடைய சத்துருக்களின் தேசத்திலே அவர்களைக் கொண்டுபோய் விட்டதையும் அறிக்கையிட்டு, விருத்த சேதனமில்லாத தங்கள் இருதயத்தைத் தாழ்த்தி, தங்கள் அக்கிரமத்துக்குக் கிடைத்த தண்டனையை நியாயம் என்று ஒத்துக்கொண்டால்,

⁴²then I will remember my covenant with Jacob; and also my covenant with Isaac, and also my covenant with Abraham; and I will remember the land.

⁴²நான் யாக்கோபோடே பண்ணின என் உடன்படிக்கையையும், ஈசாக்கோடே பண்ணின என் உடன்படிக்கையையும், ஆபிரகாமோடே பண்ணின என் உடன்படிக்கையையும் நினைப்பேன்; தேசத்தையும் நினைப்பேன்.

⁴³The land also will be left by them, and will enjoy its sabbaths while it lies desolate without them: and they will accept the punishment of their iniquity; because, even because they rejected my ordinances, and their soul abhorred my statutes.

⁴³தேசம் அவர்களாலே விடப்பட்டு, பாழாய்க்கிடக்கிறதினாலே தன் ஓய்வுநாட்களை இரம்மியமாய் அநுபவிக்கும்; அவர்கள் என் நியாயங்களை அவமதித்து, அவர்களுடைய ஆத்துமா என் கட்டளைகளை வெறுத்தபடியினால் அடைந்த தங்களுடைய அக்கிரமத்தின் தண்டனையை நியாயம் என்று ஒத்துக்கொள்ளுவார்கள்.

⁴⁴Yet for all that, when they are in the land of their enemies, I will not reject them, neither will I abhor them, to destroy them utterly, and to break my covenant with them; for I am Yahweh their God;

⁴⁴அவர்கள் தங்கள் சத்துருக்களின் தேசத்திலிருந்தாலும், நான் அவர்களை நிர்மூலமாக்கத்தக்கதாகவும், நான் அவர்களோடே பண்ணின என் உடன்படிக்கையை அபத்தமாக்கத்தக்கதாகவும், நான் அவர்களைக் கைவிடவும் வெறுக்கவும் மாட்டேன்; நான் அவர்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்.

⁴⁵but I will for their sake remember the covenant of their ancestors, whom I brought out of the land of Egypt in the sight of the nations, that I might be their God. I am Yahweh.’”

⁴⁵அவர்களுடைய தேவனாயிருக்கும்படிக்கு, நான் புறஜாதிகளின் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக எகிப்துதேசத்திலிருந்து அவர்களைப் புறப்படச்செய்து, அவர்களுடைய முன்னோர்களோடே நான் பண்ணின உடன்படிக்கையை அவர்கள்நிமித்தம் நினைவுகூருவேன்; நான் கர்த்தர் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

⁴⁶These are the statutes, ordinances and laws, which Yahweh made between him and the children of Israel in Mount Sinai by Moses.

⁴⁶கர்த்தர் தமக்கும் இஸ்ரவேல் சந்ததியாருக்கும் நடுவே இருக்கும்படி மோசேயைக்கொண்டு, சீனாய்மலையின்மேல் கொடுத்த கட்டளைகளும் நியாயங்களும் இவைகளே.
