1It happened, that when he finished praying in a certain place, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord, teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.”
1அவர் ஒரு இடத்தில் ஜெபம்பண்ணி முடித்தபின்பு, அவருடைய சீஷரில் ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: ஆண்டவரே, யோவான் தன் சீஷருக்கு ஜெபம்பண்ணப் போதித்ததுபோல, நீரும் எங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கவேண்டும் என்றான்.
2He said to them, “When you pray, say, ‘Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy. May your Kingdom come. May your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
2அதற்கு அவர்: நீங்கள் ஜெபம்பண்ணும்போது: பரமண்டலங்களிலிருக்கிற எங்கள் பிதாவே, உம்முடைய நாமம் பரிசுத்தப்படுவதாக; உம்முடைய ராஜ்யம் வருவதாக; உம்முடைய சித்தம் பரமண்டலத்திலே செய்யப்படுகிறதுபோல பூமியிலேயும் செய்யப்படுவதாக;
3 Give us day by day our daily bread.
3எங்களுக்கு வேண்டிய ஆகாரத்தை அன்றன்றும் எங்களுக்குத் தாரும்;
4 Forgive us our sins, for we ourselves also forgive everyone who is indebted to us. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.’”
4எங்கள் பாவங்களை எங்களுக்கு மன்னியும்; நாங்களும் எங்களிடத்தில் கடன்பட்ட எவனுக்கும் மன்னிக்கிறோமே; எங்களைச் சோதனைக்குட்படப்பண்ணாமல், தீமையினின்று எங்களை இரட்சித்துக் கொள்ளும், என்று சொல்லுங்கள் என்றார்.
5He said to them, “Which of you, if you go to a friend at midnight, and tell him, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread,
5பின்னும் அவர் அவர்களை நோக்கி: உங்களில் ஒருவன் தனக்குச் சிநேகிதனாயிருக்கிறவனிடத்தில் பாதிராத்திரியிலே போய்: சிநேகிதனே,
6 for a friend of mine has come to me from a journey, and I have nothing to set before him,’
6என் சிநேகிதன் ஒருவன் வழிப்பிரயாணமாய் என்னிடத்தில் வந்திருக்கிறான், அவன்முன் வைக்கிறதற்கு என்னிடத்தில் ஒன்றுமில்லை, நீ மூன்று அப்பங்களை எனக்குக் கடனாகத் தரவேண்டும் என்று கேட்டுக்கொண்டான்.
7 and he from within will answer and say, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is now shut, and my children are with me in bed. I can’t get up and give it to you’?
7வீட்டுக்குள் இருக்கிறவன் பிரதியுத்தரமாக: என்னைத் தொந்தரவு செய்யாதே, கதவு பூட்டியாயிற்று, என் பிள்ளைகள் என்னோடேகூடப் படுத்திருக்கிறார்கள், நான் எழுந்திருந்து, உனக்குத் தரக்கூடாது என்று சொன்னான்.
8 I tell you, although he will not rise and give it to him because he is his friend, yet because of his persistence, he will get up and give him as many as he needs.
8பின்பு, தனக்கு அவன் சிநேகிதனாயிருக்கிறதினிமித்தம் எழுந்து அவனுக்குக் கொடாவிட்டாலும், தன்னிடத்தில் அவன் வருந்திக் கேட்கிறதினிமித்தமாவது எழுந்திருந்து, அவனுக்குத் தேவையானதைக் கொடுப்பான் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
9 “I tell you, keep asking, and it will be given you. Keep seeking, and you will find. Keep knocking, and it will be opened to you.
9மேலும் நான் உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறதாவது: கேளுங்கள், அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படும்; தேடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது கண்டடைவீர்கள்; தட்டுங்கள், அப்பொழுது உங்களுக்குத் திறக்கப்படும்.
10 For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.
10ஏனென்றால், கேட்கிறவன் எவனும் பெற்றுக்கொள்ளுகிறான்; தேடுகிறவன் கண்டடைகிறான்; தட்டுகிறவனுக்குத் திறக்கப்படும்.
11 “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for bread, will give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, he won’t give him a snake instead of a fish, will he?
11உங்களில் தகப்பனாயிருக்கிற ஒருவனிடத்தில் மகன் அப்பங்கேட்டால், அவனுக்குக் கல்லைக் கொடுப்பானா? மீனைக்கேட்டால் மீனுக்குப் பதிலாய்ப் பாம்பைக் கொடுப்பானா?
12 Or if he asks for an egg, he won’t give him a scorpion, will he?
12அல்லது முட்டையைக் கேட்டால், அவனுக்குத் தேளைக் கொடுப்பானா?
13 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him?”
13பொல்லாதவர்களாகிய நீங்கள் உங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கு நல்ல ஈவுகளைக் கொடுக்க அறிந்திருக்கும்போது, பரமபிதாவானவர் தம்மிடத்தில் வேண்டிக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களுக்குப் பரிசுத்த ஆவியைக் கொடுப்பது அதிக நிச்சயம் அல்லவா என்றார்.
14He was casting out a demon, and it was mute. It happened, when the demon had gone out, the mute man spoke; and the multitudes marveled.
14பின்பு அவர் ஊமையாயிருந்த ஒரு பிசாசைத் துரத்தினார். பிசாசு புறப்பட்டுப்போனபின்பு ஊமையன் பேசினான்; ஜனங்கள் ஆச்சரியப்பட்டார்கள்.
15But some of them said, “He casts out demons by Beelzebul, the prince of the demons.”
15அவர்களில் சிலர்: இவன் பிசாசுகளின் தலைவனாகிய பெயெல்செபூலைக் கொண்டு பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறான் என்றார்கள்.
16Others, testing him, sought from him a sign from heaven.
16வேறு சிலர் அவரைச் சோதிக்கும்படி வானத்திலிருந்து ஒரு அடையாளத்தைக் காட்டவேண்டுமென்று அவரிடத்தில் கேட்டார்கள்.
17But he, knowing their thoughts, said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation. A house divided against itself falls.
17அவர்களுடைய சிந்தனைகளை அவர் அறிந்து, அவர்களை நோக்கி: தனக்குத்தானே விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருக்கிற எந்த ராஜ்யமும் பாழாய்ப்போகும்; தனக்குத்தானே விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருக்கிற எந்த வீடும் விழுந்துபோகும்.
18 If Satan also is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand? For you say that I cast out demons by Beelzebul.
18சாத்தானும் தனக்குத்தானே விரோதமாய்ப் பிரிந்திருந்தால் அவன் ராஜ்யம் எப்படி நிலைநிற்கும்? இப்படியிருக்க, பெயெல்செபூலைக்கொண்டு நான் பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறேன் என்கிறீர்களே.
19 But if I cast out demons by Beelzebul, by whom do your children cast them out? Therefore will they be your judges.
19நான் பெயெல்செபூலினாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்தினால், உங்கள் பிள்ளைகள் அவைகளை யாராலே துரத்துகிறார்கள்? ஆகையால், அவர்களே உங்களை நியாயந்தீர்க்கிறவர்களாயிருப்பார்கள்.
20 But if I by the finger of God cast out demons, then the Kingdom of God has come to you.
20நான் தேவனுடைய விரலினாலே பிசாசுகளைத் துரத்துகிறபடியால், தேவனுடைய ராஜ்யம் உங்களிடத்தில் வந்திருக்கிறதே.
21 “When the strong man, fully armed, guards his own dwelling, his goods are safe.
21ஆயுதந்தரித்த பலவான் தன் அரமனையைக்காக்கிறபோது, அவனுடைய பொருள் பத்திரப்பட்டிருக்கும்.
22 But when someone stronger attacks him and overcomes him, he takes from him his whole armor in which he trusted, and divides his spoils.
22அவனிலும் அதிக பலவான் வந்து, அவனை மேற்கொள்வானேயாகில், அவன் நம்பியிருந்த சகல ஆயுதவர்க்கத்தையும் பறித்துக்கொண்டு, அவனுடைய கொள்ளைப்பொருளைப் பங்கிடுவான்.
23 “He that is not with me is against me. He who doesn’t gather with me scatters.
23என்னோடே இராதவன் எனக்கு விரோதியாயிருக்கிறான், என்னோடே சேர்க்காதவன் சிதறடிக்கிறான்.
24 The unclean spirit, when he has gone out of the man, passes through dry places, seeking rest, and finding none, he says, ‘I will turn back to my house from which I came out.’
24அசுத்த ஆவி ஒரு மனுஷனை விட்டுப்புறப்படும்போது, வறண்ட இடங்களில் அலைந்து, இளைப்பாறுதல் தேடியும் கண்டடையாமல்: நான் விட்டுவந்த என் வீட்டுக்குத் திரும்பிப்போவேன் என்று சொல்லி,
25 When he returns, he finds it swept and put in order.
25அதில் வரும்போது, அது பெருக்கி ஜோடிக்கப்பட்டிருக்கக் கண்டு,
26 Then he goes, and takes seven other spirits more evil than himself, and they enter in and dwell there. The last state of that man becomes worse than the first.”
26திரும்பிப்போய், தன்னிலும் பொல்லாத வேறு ஏழு ஆவிகளைக் கூட்டிக்கொண்டுவந்து, உட்புகுந்து, அங்கே குடியிருக்கும்; அப்பொழுது அந்த மனுஷனுடைய முன்னிலைமையிலும் அவன் பின்னிலைமை அதிக கேடுள்ளதாயிருக்கும் என்றார்.
27It came to pass, as he said these things, a certain woman out of the multitude lifted up her voice, and said to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts which nursed you!”
27அவர் இவைகளைச் சொல்லுகையில், ஜனக்கூட்டத்திலிருந்த ஒரு ஸ்திரீ அவரை நோக்கி: உம்மைச் சுமந்த கர்ப்பமும் நீர் பாலுண்ட முலைகளும் பாக்கியமுள்ளவைகளென்று சத்தமிட்டுச் சொன்னாள்.
28But he said, “On the contrary, blessed are those who hear the word of God, and keep it.”
28அதற்கு அவர்: அப்படியானாலும், தேவனுடைய வார்த்தையைக் கேட்டு, அதைக் காத்துக்கொள்ளுகிறவர்களே அதிக பாக்கியவான்கள் என்றார்.
29When the multitudes were gathering together to him, he began to say, “This is an evil generation. It seeks after a sign. No sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah, the prophet.
29ஜனங்கள் திரளாய்க் கூடிவந்திருக்கிறபொழுது அவர்: இந்தச் சந்ததியார் பொல்லாதவர்களாயிருக்கிறார்கள், அடையாளத்தைத் தேடுகிறார்கள்; ஆனாலும் யோனா தீர்க்கதரிசியின் அடையாளமேயன்றி வேறே அடையாளம் இவர்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கப்படுவதில்லை.
30 For even as Jonah became a sign to the Ninevites, so will also the Son of Man be to this generation.
30யோனா நினிவே பட்டணத்தாருக்கு அடையாளமாயிருந்ததுபோல, மனுஷகுமாரனும் இந்தச் சந்ததிக்கு அடையாளமாயிருப்பார்.
31 The Queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and will condemn them: for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and behold, one greater than Solomon is here.
31தென்தேசத்து ராஜஸ்திரீ சாலொமோனுடைய ஞானத்தைக் கேட்க பூமியின் எல்லைகளிலிருந்து வந்தாள்; இதோ, சாலொமோனிலும் பெரியவர் இங்கே இருக்கிறார்; ஆதலால் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு நாளிலே அந்த ராஜஸ்திரீ இந்தச் சந்ததியாரோடெழுந்து நின்று, இவர்கள்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துவாள்.
32 The men of Nineveh will stand up in the judgment with this generation, and will condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonah, and behold, one greater than Jonah is here.
32யோனாவின் பிரசங்கத்தைக் கேட்டு நினிவே பட்டணத்தார் மனந்திரும்பினார்கள்; இதோ, யோனாவிலும் பெரியவர் இங்கே இருக்கிறார்; ஆதலால் நியாயத்தீர்ப்புநாளிலே நினிவே பட்டணத்தார் இந்தச் சந்ததியாரோடெழுந்து நின்று, இவர்கள்மேல் குற்றஞ்சுமத்துவார்கள்.
33 “No one, when he has lit a lamp, puts it in a cellar or under a basket, but on a stand, that those who come in may see the light.
33ஒருவனும் விளக்கைக் கொளுத்தி, மறைவிடத்திலாவது, மரக்காலின் கீழேயாவது வைக்காமல், உள்ளே வருகிறவர்கள் வெளிச்சம்காணும்படி, அதை விளக்குத்தண்டின்மேல் வைப்பான்.
34 The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is evil, your body also is full of darkness.
34கண்ணானது சரீரத்தின் விளக்காயிருக்கிறது; உன் கண் தெளிவாயிருந்தால், உன் சரீரமுழுவதும் வெளிச்சமாயிருக்கும்; உன் கண் கெட்டதாயிருந்தால் உன் சரீரம் முழுவதும் இருளாயிருக்கும்.
35 Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness.
35ஆகையால் உன்னிலுள்ள வெளிச்சம் இருளாகாதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிரு.
36 If therefore your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly full of light, as when the lamp with its bright shining gives you light.”
36உன் சரீரம் ஒருபுறத்திலும் இருளடைந்திராமல் முழுவதும் வெளிச்சமாயிருந்தால், ஒரு விளக்கு தன் பிரகாசத்தினாலே உனக்கு வெளிச்சம் கொடுக்கிறதுபோல உன் சரீரமுழுவதும் வெளிச்சமாயிருக்கும் என்றார்.
37Now as he spoke, a certain Pharisee asked him to dine with him. He went in, and sat at the table.
37அவர் இப்படிப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கையில், பரிசேயன் ஒருவன் தன்னுடனேகூட அவர் பகற்போஜனம்பண்ணவேண்டுமென்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்; அவர் போய்ப் பந்தியிருந்தார்.
38When the Pharisee saw it, he marveled that he had not first washed himself before dinner.
38அவர் போஜனம்பண்ணுகிறதற்கு முன் கைகழுவாமலிருந்ததைப் பரிசேயன் கண்டு, ஆச்சரியப்பட்டான்.
39The Lord said to him, “Now you Pharisees cleanse the outside of the cup and of the platter, but your inward part is full of extortion and wickedness.
39கர்த்தர் அவனை நோக்கி: பரிசேயராகிய நீங்கள் போஜனபானபாத்திரங்களின் வெளிப்புறத்தைச் சுத்தமாக்குகிறீர்கள், உங்கள் உள்ளமோ கொள்ளையினாலும் பொல்லாப்பினாலும் நிறைந்திருக்கிறது.
40 You foolish ones, didn’t he who made the outside make the inside also?
40மதிகேடரே, வெளிப்புறத்தை உண்டாக்கினவர் உட்புறத்தையும் உண்டாக்கவில்லையோ?
41 But give for gifts to the needy those things which are within, and behold, all things will be clean to you.
41உங்களுக்கு உண்டானவைகளில் பிச்சை கொடுங்கள், அப்பொழுது சகலமும் உங்களுக்குச் சுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.
42 But woe to you Pharisees! For you tithe mint and rue and every herb, but you bypass justice and the love of God. You ought to have done these, and not to have left the other undone.
42பரிசேயரே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, நீங்கள் ஒற்தலாம் மருக்கொழுந்து முதலிய சகலவித பூண்டுகளிலும் தசமபாகம் கொடுத்து, நியாயத்தையும் தேவ அன்பையும் விட்டுவிடுகிறீர்கள்; இவைகளையும் செய்யவேண்டும், அவைகளையும் விடாதிருக்கவேண்டுமே.
43 Woe to you Pharisees! For you love the best seats in the synagogues, and the greetings in the marketplaces.
43பரிசேயரே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, ஜெப ஆலயங்களில் முதன்மையான ஆசனங்களையும், சந்தைகளில் வந்தனங்களையும் விரும்புகிறீர்கள்.
44 Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like hidden graves, and the men who walk over them don’t know it.”
44மாயக்காரராகிய வேதபாரகரே, பரிசேயரே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, மறைந்திருக்கிற பிரேதக்குழிகளைப்போலிருக்கிறீர்கள், அவைகள்மேல் நடக்கிற மனுஷருக்கு அவைகள் தெரியாதிருக்கிறது என்றார்.
45One of the lawyers answered him, “Teacher, in saying this you insult us also.”
45அப்பொழுது நியாயசாஸ்திரிகளில் ஒருவன் அவரை நோக்கி: போதகரே, நீர் இப்படிச் சொல்லுகிறதினால் எங்களையும் நிந்திக்கிறீரே என்றான்.
46He said, “Woe to you lawyers also! For you load men with burdens that are difficult to carry, and you yourselves won’t even lift one finger to help carry those burdens.
46அதற்கு அவர்: நியாயசாஸ்திரிகளே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, சுமக்க அரிதான சுமைகளை மனுஷர்மேல் சுமத்துகிறீர்கள்; நீங்களோ உங்கள் விரல்களில் ஒன்றினாலும் அந்தச் சுமைகளைத் தொடவும்மாட்டீர்கள்.
47 Woe to you! For you build the tombs of the prophets, and your fathers killed them.
47உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, உங்கள் பிதாக்கள் கொலைசெய்த தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுக்குக் கல்லறைகளைக் கட்டுகிறீர்கள்.
48 So you testify and consent to the works of your fathers. For they killed them, and you build their tombs.
48ஆகையால் உங்கள் பிதாக்களுடைய கிரியைகளுக்கு நீங்களும் உடன்பட்டவர்களென்று சாட்சியிடுகிறீர்கள்; எப்படியென்றால், உங்கள் பிதாக்கள் அவர்களைக் கொலைசெய்தார்கள், நீங்களோ அவர்களுக்குக் கல்லறைகளைக் கட்டுகிறீர்கள்.
49 Therefore also the wisdom of God said, ‘I will send to them prophets and apostles; and some of them they will kill and persecute,
49ஆதலால் தேவஞானமானது: நான் தீர்க்கதரிசிகளையும் அப்போஸ்தலர்களையும் அவர்களிடத்தில் அனுப்புவேன்; அவர்களில் சிலரைக் கொலைசெய்து, சிலரைத் துன்பப்படுத்துவார்கள்;
50 that the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
50ஆபேலின் இரத்தம்முதல் பலிபீடத்துக்கும் தேவாலயத்துக்கும் நடுவே கொலையுண்ட சகரியாவின் இரத்தம்வரைக்கும், உலகத்தோற்றமுதற்கொண்டு சிந்தப்பட்ட சகல தீர்க்கதரிசிகளுடைய இரத்தப்பழியும் இந்தச் சந்ததியினிடத்தில் கேட்கப்படத்தக்கதாக அப்படிச் செய்வார்கள் என்று சொல்லுகிறது.
51 from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zachariah, who perished between the altar and the sanctuary.’ Yes, I tell you, it will be required of this generation.
51நிச்சயமாகவே இந்தச் சந்ததியினிடத்தில் அது கேட்கப்படும் என்று உங்களுக்குச் சொல்லுகிறேன்.
52 Woe to you lawyers! For you took away the key of knowledge. You didn’t enter in yourselves, and those who were entering in, you hindered.”
52நியாயசாஸ்திரிகளே, உங்களுக்கு ஐயோ, அறிவாகிய திறவுகோலை எடுத்துக்கொண்டீர்கள், நீங்களும் உட்பிரவேசிக்கிறதில்லை, உட்பிரவேசிக்கிறவர்களையும் தடைபண்ணுகிறீர்கள் என்றார்.
53As he said these things to them, the scribes and the Pharisees began to be terribly angry, and to draw many things out of him;
53இவைகளை அவர்களுக்கு அவர் சொல்லுகையில், வேதபாரகரும் பரிசேயரும் அவர்மேல் குற்றஞ்சாட்டும்பொருட்டு, அவர் வாய்மொழியில் ஏதாகிலும் பிழை கண்டுபிடிக்கவேண்டும் என்று உபாயம்பண்ணி அவரை மிகவும் நெருக்கவும்,
54lying in wait for him, and seeking to catch him in something he might say, that they might accuse him.
54அநேக காரியங்களைக்குறித்துப் பேசும்படி அவரை ஏவவும் தொடங்கினார்கள்.
