1When Balaam saw that it pleased Yahweh to bless Israel, he didn’t go, as at the other times, to meet with enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
1இஸ்ரவேலை ஆசீர்வதிப்பதே கர்த்தருக்குப் பிரியம் என்று பிலேயாம் கண்டபோது, அவன் முந்திச் செய்து வந்ததுபோல நிமித்தம் பார்க்கப் போகாமல், வனாந்தரத்திற்கு நேராகத் தன் முகத்தைத் திருப்பி,
2Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came on him.
2தன் கண்களை ஏறெடுத்து, இஸ்ரவேல் தன் கோத்திரங்களின்படியே பாளயமிறங்கியிருக்கிறதைப் பார்த்தான்; தேவஆவி அவன்மேல் வந்தது.
3He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eye was closed says;
3அப்பொழுது அவன் தன் வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: பேயோரின் குமாரனாகிய பிலேயாம் சொல்லுகிறதாவது, கண் திறக்கப்பட்டவன் உரைக்கிறதாவது,
4he says, who hears the words of God, who sees the vision of the Almighty, falling down, and having his eyes open:
4தேவன் அருளும் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டு, சர்வவல்லவரின் தரிசனத்தைக் கண்டு தாழவிழும்போது, கண்திறக்கப்பட்டவன் விளம்புகிறதாவது,
5How goodly are your tents, Jacob, and your tents, Israel!
5யாக்கோபே, உன் கூடாரங்களும், இஸ்ரவேலே, உன் வாசஸ்தலங்களும் எவ்வளவு அழகானவைகள்!
6As valleys they are spread forth, as gardens by the riverside, as aloes which Yahweh has planted, as cedar trees beside the waters.
6அவைகள் பரவிப்போகிற ஆறுகளைப்போலவும், நதியோரத்திலுள்ள தோட்டங்களைப்போலவும், கர்த்தர் நாட்டின சந்தனமரங்களைப்போலவும், தண்ணீர் அருகே உள்ள கேதுரு விருட்சங்களைப்போலவும் இருக்கிறது.
7Water shall flow from his buckets. His seed shall be in many waters. His king shall be higher than Agag. His kingdom shall be exalted.
7அவர்களுடைய நீர்ச்சால்களிலிருந்து தண்ணீர் பாயும்; அவர்கள் வித்து திரளான தண்ணீர்களில் பரவும்; அவர்களுடைய ராஜா ஆகாகைப் பார்க்கிலும் உயருவான்; அவர்கள் ராஜ்யம் மேன்மையடையும்.
8God brings him out of Egypt. He has as it were the strength of the wild ox. He shall eat up the nations his adversaries, shall break their bones in pieces, and pierce them with his arrows.
8தேவன் அவர்களை எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினார்; காண்டாமிருகத்துக்கொத்த பெலன் அவர்களுக்கு உண்டு; அவர்கள் தங்கள் சத்துருக்களாகிய ஜாதிகளைப் பட்சித்து, அவர்கள் எலும்புகளை நொறுக்கி, அவர்களைத் தங்கள் அம்புகளாலே எய்வார்கள்.
9He couched, he lay down as a lion, as a lioness; who shall rouse him up? Everyone who blesses you is blessed. Everyone who curses you is cursed.”
9சிங்கம்போலவும் துஷ்ட சிங்கம்போலவும் மடங்கிப் படுத்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள்; அவர்களை எழுப்புகிறவன் யார்? உங்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறவன் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டவன், உங்களைச் சபிக்கிறவன் சபிக்கப்பட்டவன் என்றான்.
10Balak’s anger was kindled against Balaam, and he struck his hands together; and Balak said to Balaam, “I called you to curse my enemies, and, behold, you have altogether blessed them these three times.
10அப்பொழுது பாலாக் பிலேயாமின்மேல் கோபம் மூண்டவனாகி, கையோடே கைதட்டி, பிலேயாமை நோக்கி: என் சத்துருக்களைச் சபிக்க உன்னை அழைத்தனுப்பினேன்; நீயோ இந்த மூன்றுமுறையும் அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிக்கவே ஆசீர்வதித்தாய்.
11Therefore now flee you to your place! I thought to promote you to great honor; but, behold, Yahweh has kept you back from honor.”
11ஆகையால் உன் இடத்துக்கு ஓடிப்போ; உன்னை மிகவும் கனம்பண்ணுவேன் என்றேன்; நீ கனமடையாதபடிக்குக் கர்த்தர் தடுத்தார் என்றான்.
12Balaam said to Balak, “Didn’t I also tell your messengers who you sent to me, saying,
12அப்பொழுது பிலேயாம் பாலாகை நோக்கி: பாலாக் எனக்குத் தன் வீடு நிறைய வெள்ளியும் பொன்னும் கொடுத்தாலும், நான் என் மனதாய் நன்மையாகிலும் தீமையாகிலும் செய்கிறதற்குக் கர்த்தரின் கட்டளையை மீறக்கூடாது; கர்த்தர் சொல்வதையே சொல்வேன் என்று,
13‘If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can’t go beyond the word of Yahweh, to do either good or bad of my own mind. I will say what Yahweh says’?
13நீர் என்னிடத்திற்கு அனுப்பின ஸ்தானாபதிகளிடத்தில் நான் சொல்லவில்லையா?
14Now, behold, I go to my people: come, I will inform you what this people shall do to your people in the latter days.”
14இதோ, நான் என் ஜனத்தாரிடத்திற்குப் போகிறேன்; பிற்காலத்திலே இந்த ஜனங்கள் உம்முடைய ஜனங்களுக்குச் செய்வது இன்னதென்று உமக்குத் தெரிவிப்பேன் வாரும் என்று சொல்லி,
15He took up his parable, and said, “Balaam the son of Beor says, the man whose eye was closed says;
15அவன் தன் வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: பேயோரின் குமாரன் பிலேயாம் சொல்லுகிறதாவது, கண் திறக்கப்பட்டவன் உரைக்கிறதாவது,
16he says, who hears the words of God, knows the knowledge of the Most High, and who sees the vision of the Almighty, Falling down, and having his eyes open:
16தேவன் அருளும் வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டு, உன்னதமானவர் அளித்த அறிவை அறிந்து, சர்வவல்லவரின் தரிசனத்தைக் கண்டு, தாழவிழும்போது, கண் திறக்கப்பட்டவன் விளம்புகிறதாவது;
17I see him, but not now. I see him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob. A scepter will rise out of Israel, and shall strike through the corners of Moab, and break down all the sons of Sheth.
17அவரைக் காண்பேன், இப்பொழுது அல்ல; அவரைத் தரிசிப்பேன், சமீபமாய் அல்ல; ஒரு நட்சத்திரம் யாக்கோபிலிருந்து உதிக்கும், ஒரு செங்கோல் இஸ்ரவேலிலிருந்து எழும்பும்; அது மோவாபின் எல்லைகளை நொறுக்கி, சேத்புத்திரர் எல்லாரையும் நிர்மூலமாக்கும்.
18Edom shall be a possession. Seir, his enemies, also shall be a possession, while Israel does valiantly.
18ஏதோம் சுதந்தரமாகும், சேயீர் தன் சத்துருக்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகும்; இஸ்ரவேல் பராக்கிரமஞ்செய்யும்.
19Out of Jacob shall one have dominion, and shall destroy the remnant from the city.”
19யாக்கோபிலிருந்து தோன்றும் ஒருவர் ஆளுகை செய்வார்; பட்டணங்களில் மீதியானவர்களை அழிப்பார் என்றான்.
20He looked at Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, “Amalek was the first of the nations, But his latter end shall come to destruction.”
20மேலும், அவன் அமலேக்கைப் பார்த்து, தன் வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: அமலேக்கு முந்தியெழும்பினவன்; ஆனாலும் அவன் முடிவில் முற்றிலும் நாசமாவான் என்றான்.
21He looked at the Kenite, and took up his parable, and said, “Your dwelling place is strong. Your nest is set in the rock.
21அன்றியும் அவன் கேனியனைப் பார்த்து, தன் வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: உன் வாசஸ்தலம் அரணிப்பானது; உன் கூட்டைக் கன்மலையில் கட்டினாய்.
22Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted, until Asshur carries you away captive.”
22ஆகிலும் கேனியன் அழிந்துபோவான்; அசூர் உன்னைச் சிறைபிடித்துக்கொண்டுபோக எத்தனை நாள் செல்லும் என்றான்.
23He took up his parable, and said, “Alas, who shall live when God does this?
23பின்னும் அவன் தன் வாக்கியத்தை எடுத்துரைத்து: ஐயோ, தேவன் இதைச்செய்யும்போது யார் பிழைப்பான்;
24But ships shall come from the coast of Kittim. They shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber. He also shall come to destruction.”
24சித்தீமின் கரைதுறையிலிருந்து கப்பல்கள் வந்து, அசூரைச் சிறுமைப்படுத்தி, ஏபேரையும் வருத்தப்படுத்தும்; அவனும் முற்றிலும் அழிந்துபோவான் என்றான்.
25Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place; and Balak also went his way.
25பின்பு பிலேயாம் எழுந்து புறப்பட்டு, தன் இடத்திற்குத் திரும்பினான்; பாலாகும் தன் வழியே போனான்.
