¹When I came to you, brothers, I didn’t come with excellence of speech or of wisdom, proclaiming to you the testimony of God.

¹พี่น้องทั้งหลาย เมื่อข้าพเจ้ามาหาท่าน ข้าพเจ้ามิได้มาเพื่อประกาศสักขีพยานของพระเจ้าแก่ท่านทั้งหลาย ด้วยถ้อยคำอันไพเราะหรือด้วยสติปัญญา

²For I determined not to know anything among you, except Jesus Christ, and him crucified.

²เพราะข้าพเจ้าตั้งใจว่าจะไม่แสดงความรู้เรื่องใดๆในหมู่พวกท่านเลยเว้นแต่เรื่องพระเยซูคริสต์ และการที่พระองค์ทรงถูกตรึงที่กางเขน

³I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling.

³และเมื่อข้าพเจ้าอยู่กับท่านทั้งหลาย ข้าพเจ้าก็อ่อนกำลัง มีความกลัวและตัวสั่นเป็นอันมาก

⁴My speech and my preaching were not in persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

⁴คำพูดและคำเทศนาของข้าพเจ้า ไม่ใช่คำที่เกลี้ยกล่อมด้วยสติปัญญาของมนุษย์ แต่เป็นคำซึ่งได้แสดงพระวิญญาณและพระเดชานุภาพ

⁵that your faith wouldn’t stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

⁵เพื่อความเชื่อของท่านจะไม่ได้อาศัยสติปัญญาของมนุษย์ แต่อาศัยฤทธิ์เดชของพระเจ้า

⁶We speak wisdom, however, among those who are full grown; yet a wisdom not of this world, nor of the rulers of this world, who are coming to nothing.

⁶เรากล่าวถึงเรื่องปัญญาในหมู่คนที่เป็นผู้ใหญ่แล้วก็จริง แต่มิใช่เรื่องปัญญาของโลกนี้ หรือเรื่องปัญญาของอำนาจครอบครองในโลกนี้ซึ่งจะเสื่อมสูญไป

⁷But we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom that has been hidden, which God foreordained before the worlds for our glory,

⁷แต่เรากล่าวถึงเรื่องพระปัญญาของพระเจ้าซึ่งเป็นข้อลึกลับ คือพระปัญญาซึ่งทรงซ่อนไว้นั้น ซึ่งพระเจ้าได้ทรงกำหนดไว้ก่อนสร้างโลกให้เป็นสง่าราศีแก่เรา

⁸which none of the rulers of this world has known. For had they known it, they wouldn’t have crucified the Lord of glory.

⁸ไม่มีอำนาจครอบครองใดๆในโลกนี้ได้รู้จักพระปัญญานั้น เพราะว่าถ้ารู้แล้วจะมิได้เอาองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าแห่งสง่าราศีตรึงไว้ที่กางเขน

⁹But as it is written, “Things which an eye didn’t see, and an ear didn’t hear, which didn’t enter into the heart of man, these God has prepared for those who love him.” Isaiah 64:4

⁹ดังที่มีเขียนไว้แล้วว่า `สิ่งที่ตาไม่เห็น หูไม่ได้ยิน และไม่เคยได้เข้าไปในใจมนุษย์ คือสิ่งที่พระเจ้าได้ทรงจัดเตรียมไว้สำหรับคนที่รักพระองค์'

¹⁰But to us, God revealed them through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.

¹⁰พระเจ้าได้ทรงสำแดงสิ่งเหล่านั้นแก่เราทางพระวิญญาณของพระองค์ เพราะว่าพระวิญญาณทรงหยั่งรู้ทุกสิ่ง แม้เป็นความล้ำลึกของพระเจ้า

¹¹For who among men knows the things of a man, except the spirit of the man, which is in him? Even so, no one knows the things of God, except God’s Spirit.

¹¹อันความคิดของมนุษย์นั้นไม่มีผู้ใดหยั่งรู้ได้ เว้นแต่จิตวิญญาณของมนุษย์ผู้นั้นเองฉันใด พระดำริของพระเจ้าก็ไม่มีใครหยั่งรู้ได้ เว้นแต่พระวิญญาณของพระเจ้าฉันนั้น

¹²But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is from God, that we might know the things that were freely given to us by God.

¹²เราทั้งหลายจึงไม่ได้รับวิญญาณของโลก แต่ได้รับพระวิญญาณซึ่งมาจากพระเจ้า เพื่อเราทั้งหลายจะได้รู้ถึงสิ่งต่างๆที่พระเจ้าได้ทรงโปรดประทานแก่เรา

¹³Which things also we speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches, but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual things.

¹³คือสิ่งเหล่านั้นที่เราได้กล่าวด้วยถ้อยคำซึ่งมิใช่ปัญญาของมนุษย์สอนไว้ แต่ด้วยถ้อยคำซึ่งพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์ได้ทรงสั่งสอน ซึ่งเปรียบเทียบสิ่งที่อยู่ฝ่ายจิตวิญญาณกับสิ่งซึ่งเป็นของจิตวิญญาณ

¹⁴Now the natural man doesn’t receive the things of God’s Spirit, for they are foolishness to him, and he can’t know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

¹⁴แต่มนุษย์ธรรมดาจะรับสิ่งเหล่านั้นซึ่งเป็นของพระวิญญาณแห่งพระเจ้าไม่ได้ เพราะเขาเห็นว่าเป็นสิ่งโง่เขลา และเขาไม่สามารถเข้าใจได้ เพราะว่าจะเข้าใจสิ่งเหล่านั้นได้ก็ต้องสังเกตด้วยจิตวิญญาณ

¹⁵But he who is spiritual discerns all things, and he himself is judged by no one.

¹⁵แต่มนุษย์ฝ่ายจิตวิญญาณสังเกตสิ่งสารพัดได้ แต่ไม่มีผู้ใดจะรู้จักใจคนนั้นได้

¹⁶“For who has known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him?” Isaiah 40:13 But we have Christ’s mind.

¹⁶เพราะว่า `ใครเล่ารู้จักพระทัยขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเพื่อจะแนะนำสั่งสอนพระองค์ได้' แต่เราก็มีพระทัยของพระคริสต์
