¹Moreover, brothers, we make known to you the grace of God which has been given in the assemblies of Macedonia;

¹ยิ่งกว่านี้ พี่น้องทั้งหลาย เราใคร่ให้ท่านทราบถึงพระคุณของพระเจ้า โดยที่พระองค์ได้ทรงโปรดประทานแก่คริสตจักรต่างๆในแคว้นมาซิโดเนีย

²how that in much proof of affliction the abundance of their joy and their deep poverty abounded to the riches of their liberality.

²เพราะว่าเมื่อคราวที่พวกเขาถูกทดลองอย่างหนักได้รับความทุกข์ยาก ความยินดีล้นพ้นของเขาและความยากจนแสนเข็ญของเขานั้น ก็ล้นออกมาเป็นใจโอบอ้อมอารีของเขา

³For according to their power, I testify, yes and beyond their power, they gave of their own accord,

³เพราะข้าพเจ้าเป็นพยานได้ว่า เขาถวายโดยสุดความสามารถของเขา ที่จริงก็เกินความสามารถของเขาเสียอีก

⁴begging us with much entreaty to receive this grace and the fellowship in the service to the saints.

⁴และเขายังได้วิงวอนเรามากมายขอให้เรายอมรับของถวายนั้น และให้เขามีส่วนในการช่วยวิสุทธิชนด้วย

⁵This was not as we had hoped, but first they gave their own selves to the Lord, and to us through the will of God.

⁵ไม่เหมือนที่เราได้คาดหมายไว้ แต่ได้ถวายตัวเขาเองแด่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าก่อน แล้วได้มอบตัวให้เราตามพระประสงค์ของพระเจ้า

⁶So we urged Titus, that as he made a beginning before, so he would also complete in you this grace.

⁶จนถึงกับเราได้เตือนทิตัสว่า เมื่อเขาได้เริ่มแล้วฉันใด ก็ให้เขาทำให้สำเร็จกับท่านทั้งหลายในพระคุณนี้ด้วยเช่นกัน

⁷But as you abound in everything, in faith, utterance, knowledge, all earnestness, and in your love to us, see that you also abound in this grace.

⁷เหตุฉะนั้นเมื่อท่านมีพร้อมบริบูรณ์ทุกสิ่ง คือความเชื่อ ถ้อยคำ ความรู้ ความกระตือรือร้นทั้งปวง และความรักต่อเรา ท่านทั้งหลายก็จงประกอบพระคุณนี้อย่างบริบูรณ์เหมือนกันเถิด

⁸I speak not by way of commandment, but as proving through the earnestness of others the sincerity also of your love.

⁸ข้าพเจ้าพูดอย่างนี้มิได้หมายว่าให้เป็นคำบัญชา แต่ได้นำเรื่องของคนอื่นที่มีความกระตือรือร้นมาทดลองความรักของท่าน ดูว่าแท้หรือไม่

⁹For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes he became poor, that you through his poverty might become rich.

⁹เพราะท่านทั้งหลายรู้จักพระคุณของพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าของเราว่า แม้พระองค์มั่งคั่ง พระองค์ก็ยังทรงยอมเป็นคนยากจน เพราะเห็นแก่ท่านทั้งหลายเพื่อท่านทั้งหลายจะได้เป็นคนมั่งมี เนื่องจากความยากจนของพระองค์

¹⁰I give a judgment in this: for this is expedient for you, who were the first to start a year ago, not only to do, but also to be willing.

¹⁰และข้าพเจ้าจะออกความเห็นในเรื่องนี้ เพราะจะเป็นประโยชน์แก่ท่าน เรื่องที่ท่านได้ตั้งต้นเมื่อปีกลายนี้ และมิใช่ตั้งต้นจะกระทำเท่านั้น แต่ว่ามีน้ำใจจะกระทำด้วยนั้น

¹¹But now complete the doing also, that as there was the readiness to be willing, so there may be the completion also out of your ability.

¹¹บัดนี้ก็ควรแล้วที่ท่านจะกระทำเรื่องนั้นให้สำเร็จเสีย เพื่อว่าเมื่อท่านมีใจพร้อมอยู่แล้ว ท่านก็จะได้ทำให้สำเร็จตามความสามารถของท่าน

¹²For if the readiness is there, it is acceptable according to what you have, not according to what you don’t have.

¹²เพราะว่าถ้ามีน้ำใจพร้อมอยู่แล้ว พระเจ้าก็พอพระทัยที่จะทรงรับตามที่ทุกคนมีอยู่ มิใช่ตามที่เขาไม่มี

¹³For this is not that others may be eased and you distressed,

¹³ข้าพเจ้าไม่ได้หมายความว่า ให้การงานของคนอื่นเบาลงและให้การงานของพวกท่านหนักขึ้น

¹⁴but for equality. Your abundance at this present time supplies their lack, that their abundance also may become a supply for your lack; that there may be equality.

¹⁴แต่เป็นการให้กันไปให้กันมา ในยามที่พวกท่านมีบริบูรณ์เช่นเวลานี้ ท่านก็ควรจะช่วยคนเหล่านั้นที่ขัดสน และในยามที่เขามีบริบูรณ์ เขาก็จะได้ช่วยพวกท่านเมื่อขัดสน เพื่อเป็นการให้กันไปให้กันมา

¹⁵As it is written, “He who gathered much had nothing left over, and he who gathered little had no lack.” Exodus 16:8

¹⁵ตามที่มีเขียนไว้ว่า `คนที่เก็บได้มากก็ไม่มีเหลือ และคนที่เก็บได้น้อยก็หาขาดไม่'

¹⁶But thanks be to God, who puts the same earnest care for you into the heart of Titus.

¹⁶แต่ขอขอบพระคุณพระเจ้า ผู้ทรงโปรดให้ทิตัสมีใจกระตือรือร้นอย่างนั้นเพื่อท่านทั้งหลายเหมือนกัน

¹⁷For he indeed accepted our exhortation, but being himself very earnest, he went out to you of his own accord.

¹⁷เพราะไม่เพียงแต่เขาได้รับคำเตือนเท่านั้น แต่เขาได้ไปหาท่านเพราะเขาเองมีใจพร้อมอยู่แล้วด้วย

¹⁸We have sent together with him the brother whose praise in the Good News is known through all the assemblies.

¹⁸เราให้พี่น้องคนหนึ่งที่มีชื่อเสียงในการประกาศข่าวประเสริฐตามคริสตจักรทั้งหลายไปกับทิตัสด้วย

¹⁹Not only so, but who was also appointed by the assemblies to travel with us in this grace, which is served by us to the glory of the Lord himself, and to show our readiness.

¹⁹และมิใช่แต่เท่านั้น คริสตจักรได้ตั้งคนนั้นไว้ให้เป็นเพื่อนเดินทางด้วยกันกับเราในพระคุณนี้ซึ่งเราได้รับใช้อยู่ เพื่อให้เป็นที่ถวายเกียรติยศแด่องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า และเป็นที่แสดงน้ำใจพรักพร้อมของท่าน

²⁰We are avoiding this, that any man should blame us concerning this abundance which is administered by us.

²⁰เราเจตนาจะไม่ให้คนหนึ่งคนใดติเตียนเราได้ ในเรื่องของถวายเป็นอันมากซึ่งเรารับมาแจกนั้น

²¹Having regard for honorable things, not only in the sight of the Lord, but also in the sight of men.

²¹เพราะเรามุ่งที่จะกระทำสิ่งที่ซื่อสัตย์ มิใช่เฉพาะแต่ในสายพระเนตรขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าเท่านั้น แต่ในสายตาของมนุษย์ด้วย

²²We have sent with them our brother, whom we have many times proved earnest in many things, but now much more earnest, by reason of the great confidence which he has in you.

²²เราได้ส่งพี่น้องอีกคนหนึ่งไปกับเขาทั้งสองด้วย ผู้ซึ่งเราได้ทดสอบแล้วว่า มีความกระตือรือร้นในหลายสิ่ง และเดี๋ยวนี้เขามีความกระตือรือร้นมากยิ่งขึ้น เพราะเรามีความไว้ใจในท่านมาก

²³As for Titus, he is my partner and fellow worker for you. As for our brothers, they are the apostles of the assemblies, the glory of Christ.

²³ถ้ามีคนใดถามถึงทิตัส ทิตัสก็เป็นเพื่อนร่วมงานของข้าพเจ้า และเป็นผู้ช่วยในการของท่านทั้งหลาย หรือถ้ามีคนใดถามถึงพี่น้องสองคนนั้น เขาก็เป็นทูตรับใช้ของคริสตจักรทั้งหลายและเป็นสง่าราศีของพระคริสต์

²⁴Therefore show the proof of your love to them in front of the assemblies, and of our boasting on your behalf.

²⁴เหตุฉะนั้นจงให้ความรักของท่านประจักษ์แก่คนเหล่านั้น และแสดงให้แก่คริสตจักรทั้งหลายด้วย ให้สมกับที่ข้าพเจ้าได้อวดเรื่องพวกท่านให้เขาฟัง
