¹But false prophets also arose among the people, as false teachers will also be among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, denying even the Master who bought them, bringing on themselves swift destruction.

¹แต่ว่าได้มีผู้พยากรณ์เท็จเกิดขึ้นท่ามกลางพวกพลไพร่นั้นด้วย เช่นกับจะมีผู้สอนผิดในท่ามกลางท่านทั้งหลาย ที่จะแอบอ้างเอามิจฉาลัทธิอันจะให้ถึงความพินาศเข้ามาเสี้ยมสอน และจะปฏิเสธองค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าผู้ได้ทรงไถ่เขาไว้ และจะพลันนำความพินาศมาถึงตนเอง

²Many will follow their immoral TR reads “destructive” instead of “immoral” ways, and as a result, the way of the truth will be maligned.

⁶and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly;

⁶และได้ทรงลงโทษเมืองโสโดมและเมืองโกโมราห์ให้พินาศเป็นเถ้าถ่าน เพื่อให้เป็นตัวอย่างแก่คนต่อไปที่จะประพฤติชั่ว

⁷and delivered righteous Lot, who was very distressed by the lustful life of the wicked

⁷และได้ทรงช่วยโลทผู้ชอบธรรมให้รอด ผู้มีความทุกข์ใหญ่หลวงเพราะการประพฤติลามกของคนชั่วเหล่านั้น

⁸(for that righteous man dwelling among them, was tormented in his righteous soul from day to day with seeing and hearing lawless deeds):

⁹the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptation and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment;

⁹องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าทรงทราบวิธีที่จะช่วยคนที่ตามทางของพระเจ้าให้รอดพ้นจากการทดลองต่างๆ และทรงทราบวิธีที่จะรักษาคนอธรรมไว้จนถึงวันพิพากษาเพื่อจะได้ลงโทษเขา

¹⁰but chiefly those who walk after the flesh in the lust of defilement, and despise authority. Daring, self-willed, they are not afraid to speak evil of dignitaries;

¹⁰โดยเฉพาะคนเหล่านั้นที่ปล่อยตัวไปตามเนื้อหนัง ในราคะตัณหาแห่งความโสโครก และหมิ่นประมาทผู้ใหญ่ที่มีอำนาจ คนเหล่านี้ทะนงตนและประพฤติตามอำเภอใจ เขาไม่สะทกสะท้านที่จะกล่าวประณามผู้ที่มีบรรดาศักดิ์

¹¹whereas angels, though greater in might and power, don’t bring a railing judgment against them before the Lord.

¹²But these, as unreasoning creatures, born natural animals to be taken and destroyed, speaking evil in matters about which they are ignorant, will in their destroying surely be destroyed,

¹³receiving the wages of unrighteousness; people who count it pleasure to revel in the daytime, spots and blemishes, reveling in their deceit while they feast with you;

¹³และจะรับบำเหน็จแห่งการอธรรม เหมือนคนที่ถือการเสเพลเฮฮาในเวลากลางวันเป็นความเพลิดเพลิน เขาด่างพร้อยและมลทิน และประพฤติการเสเพลเฮฮาด้วยการหลอกลวงของตนเอง เมื่อกำลังกินเลี้ยงรวมกับท่านทั้งหลาย

¹⁴having eyes full of adultery, and who can’t cease from sin; enticing unsettled souls; having a heart trained in greed; children of cursing;

¹⁴ตาเขาเต็มไปด้วยความปรารถนาแห่งการล่วงประเวณี และเขาหยุดกระทำบาปไม่ได้เลย เขาวางกับดักคนที่มีจิตใจไม่มั่นคง เขามีใจชินกับการโลภ เขาเป็นลูกแห่งความสาปแช่ง

¹⁵forsaking the right way, they went astray, having followed the way of Balaam the son of Beor, who loved the wages of wrongdoing;

¹⁷คนเหล่านี้เป็นบ่อที่ไร้น้ำ เป็นเมฆที่ถูกพายุพัดไป ทรงเตรียมหมอกแห่งความมืดทึบไว้แล้วสำหรับคนเหล่านั้นเป็นนิตย์

¹⁸For, uttering great swelling words of emptiness, they entice in the lusts of the flesh, by licentiousness, those who are indeed escaping from those who live in error;

¹⁸เพราะว่าเขาพูดเย่อหยิ่งอวดตัว และเขาใช้ความปรารถนาแห่งเนื้อหนังกับความกำหนัด เพื่อจะล่อลวงคนทั้งหลายที่กำลังหนีไปจากคนเหล่านั้นที่หลงประพฤติผิด

¹⁹promising them liberty, while they themselves are bondservants of corruption; for a man is brought into bondage by whoever overcomes him.

¹⁹เขาสัญญาว่าจะให้คนเหล่านั้นพ้นจากการเป็นทาส แต่ตัวเขาเองยังเป็นทาสของความหายนะ เพราะว่ามนุษย์พ่ายแพ้แก่สิ่งใด เขาก็เป็นทาสของสิ่งนั้น

²⁰For if, after they have escaped the defilement of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled in it and overcome, the last state has become worse for them than the first.

²⁰เพราะว่าถ้าหลังจากที่เขาพ้นจากสรรพมลทินของโลกนี้แล้ว ด้วยการที่เขารู้เกี่ยวกับพระเยซูคริสต์องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า และพระผู้ช่วยให้รอด เขากลับเกี่ยวข้องและพ่ายแพ้แก่การชั่วนั้นอีก บั้นปลายของเขาก็กลับชั่วร้ายยิ่งกว่าตอนต้น

²¹For it would be better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after knowing it, to turn back from the holy commandment delivered to them.

²¹เพราะว่าถ้าเขาไม่ได้รู้จักทางชอบธรรมนั้นเสียเลยก็ยังจะดีกว่าที่เขาได้รู้แล้ว แต่กลับหันหลังให้พระบัญญัติอันบริสุทธิ์ที่ได้ทรงโปรดประทานให้แก่เขานั้น

²²But it has happened to them according to the true proverb, “The dog turns to his own vomit again,” Proverbs 26:11 and “the sow that has washed to wallowing in the mire.”
