¹In the first year of Belshazzar king of Babylon Daniel had a dream and visions of his head on his bed: then he wrote the dream and told the sum of the matters.

¹ในปีต้นแห่งรัชกาลเบลชัสซาร์กษัตริย์เมืองบาบิโลน ดาเนียลมีความฝันและนิมิตผุดขึ้นในศีรษะของท่านเมื่อท่านนอนอยู่ในที่นอนของท่าน ท่านจึงบันทึกความฝันนั้นไว้ และบรรยายเนื้อเรื่องนั้น

²Daniel spoke and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the sky broke forth on the great sea.

²ดาเนียลกล่าวว่า "ข้าพเจ้าได้เห็นในนิมิตเวลากลางคืน และดูเถิด ลมทั้งสี่ของฟ้าสวรรค์ได้ปลุกปั่นทะเลใหญ่นั้น

³Four great animals came up from the sea, diverse one from another.

³และสัตว์มหึมาสี่ตัวได้ขึ้นมาจากทะเล ต่างตัวต่างกัน

⁴The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I saw until its wings were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made to stand on two feet as a man; and a man’s heart was given to it.

⁴ตัวแรกเหมือนสิงโต มีปีกนกอินทรี เมื่อข้าพเจ้ามองดูนั้น ขนปีกก็ถูกถอนออกไป และมันถูกยกขึ้นจากแผ่นดิน และให้ยืนสองเท้าเหมือนคน และมอบใจของมนุษย์ให้แก่มัน

⁵Behold, another animal, a second, like a bear; and it was raised up on one side, and three ribs were in its mouth between its teeth: and they said thus to it, Arise, devour much flesh.

⁵และดูเถิด มีสัตว์อีกตัวหนึ่งเป็นตัวที่สองเหมือนหมี มันขยับตัวข้างหนึ่งขึ้น มีกระดูกซี่โครงสามซี่อยู่ในปากของมันระหว่างซี่ฟัน มีเสียงบอกมันว่า `จงลุกขึ้นกินเนื้อให้มากๆ'

⁶After this I saw, and behold, another, like a leopard, which had on its back four wings of a bird; the animal had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.

⁶ต่อจากนี้ไปข้าพเจ้าก็ได้มองดู ดูเถิด สัตว์อีกตัวหนึ่งเหมือนเสือดาว บนหลังมีปีกนกสี่ปีก สัตว์นั้นมีหัวสี่หัวและมันรับราชอำนาจ

⁷After this I saw in the night visions, and, behold, a fourth animal, awesome and powerful, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth; it devoured and broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet: and it was diverse from all the animals that were before it; and it had ten horns.

⁷ต่อจากนี้ไปข้าพเจ้าได้เห็นในนิมิตกลางคืน และดูเถิด สัตว์ที่สี่มันร้ายกาจและเป็นที่น่ากลัวและแข็งแรงยิ่งนัก มันมีฟันเหล็กมหึมา มันกินและหักเป็นชิ้นๆ และกระทืบสิ่งที่เหลือนั้นเสีย มันต่างกับสัตว์อื่นทั้งหลายที่อยู่ก่อนมัน มันมีเขาสิบเขา

⁸I considered the horns, and behold, there came up among them another horn, a little one, before which three of the first horns were plucked up by the roots: and behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of a man, and a mouth speaking great things.

⁸ข้าพเจ้าพิเคราะห์เรื่องเขาเหล่านั้น ดูเถิด มีอีกเขาหนึ่งเล็กๆงอกขึ้นมาท่ามกลางเขาเหล่านั้น เขารุ่นแรกสามเขาได้ถูกถอนรากออกไปต่อหน้ามัน และดูเถิด ในเขาอันนี้มีตาเหมือนตามนุษย์ มีปากพูดเรื่องใหญ่โต

⁹I saw until thrones were placed, and one who was ancient of days sat: his clothing was white as snow, and the hair of his head like pure wool; his throne was fiery flames, and its wheels burning fire.

⁹ขณะที่ข้าพเจ้าดูอยู่มีหลายบัลลังก์ถูกล้มลง และผู้หนึ่งผู้เจริญด้วยวัยวุฒิมาประทับ ฉลองพระองค์ขาวอย่างหิมะ พระเกศาที่พระเศียรของพระองค์เหมือนขนแกะบริสุทธิ์ พระบัลลังก์ของพระองค์เป็นเปลวเพลิง กงจักรของบัลลังก์นั้นเป็นไฟลุก

¹⁰A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousands of thousands ministered to him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened.

¹⁰ธารไฟพุ่งออกและไหลออกมาต่อเบื้องพระพักตร์พระองค์ คนนับแสนๆปรนนิบัติพระองค์ คนนับโกฏิๆเข้าเฝ้าพระองค์ ผู้พิพากษาก็ขึ้นนั่งบันลังก์ บรรดาหนังสือก็เปิดขึ้น

¹¹I saw at that time because of the voice of the great words which the horn spoke; I saw even until the animal was slain, and its body destroyed, and it was given to be burned with fire.

¹¹ข้าพเจ้าก็จ้องดู เพราะเสียงพูดใหญ่โตของเขาเล็กนั้น และเมื่อข้าพเจ้าจ้องดูสัตว์ตัวนั้นก็ถูกฆ่า และศพก็ถูกทำลาย มอบให้เผาเสียด้วยไฟ

¹²As for the rest of the animals, their dominion was taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and a time.

¹²ส่วนเรื่องสัตว์ที่เหลืออยู่นั้น ราชอำนาจของมันก็ถูกนำไปเสีย แต่ชีวิตของมันนั้นยังต่อไปให้ถึงฤดูหนึ่งและวาระหนึ่ง

¹³I saw in the night visions, and behold, there came with the clouds of the sky one like a son of man, and he came even to the ancient of days, and they brought him near before him.

¹³ข้าพเจ้าเห็นในนิมิตกลางคืน และดูเถิด มีท่านผู้หนึ่งเหมือนบุตรมนุษย์มาพร้อมกับบรรดาเมฆในท้องฟ้า และท่านมาหาผู้เจริญด้วยวัยวุฒินั้น เขานำท่านมาเฝ้าต่อเบื้องพระพักตร์พระองค์

¹⁴There was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all the peoples, nations, and languages should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.

¹⁴ราชอำนาจ สง่าราศี กับราชอาณาจักร ก็ได้มอบให้แก่ท่าน เพื่อบรรดาชนชาติ ประชาชาติทั้งปวงและภาษาทั้งหลายจะปรนนิบัติท่าน ราชอาณาจักรของท่านเป็นราชอาณาจักรนิรันดร์ซึ่งจะไม่สิ้นสุดไป และอาณาจักรของท่านเป็นอาณาจักรซึ่งจะไม่ถูกทำลายเลย

¹⁵As for me, Daniel, my spirit was grieved in the midst of my body, and the visions of my head troubled me.

¹⁵ส่วนข้าพเจ้า คือดาเนียล จิตใจข้าพเจ้าก็เป็นทุกข์ในตัวข้าพเจ้า เพราะนิมิตในศีรษะของข้าพเจ้าก็กระทำให้ข้าพเจ้าตกใจ

¹⁶I came near to one of those who stood by, and asked him the truth concerning all this. So he told me, and made me know the interpretation of the things.

¹⁶ข้าพเจ้าเข้าไปใกล้ท่านผู้หนึ่งที่ยืนอยู่ที่นั่น และไต่ถามความจริงของเรื่องราวนี้ ท่านก็บอกข้าพเจ้า และให้ข้าพเจ้ารู้ความหมายของเรื่องเหล่านี้

¹⁷These great animals, which are four, are four kings, who shall arise out of the earth.

¹⁷สัตว์มหึมาทั้งสี่คือ กษัตริย์สี่พระองค์ซึ่งจะเกิดมาจากพิภพ

¹⁸But the saints of the Most High shall receive the kingdom, and possess the kingdom forever, even forever and ever.

¹⁸แต่บรรดาวิสุทธิชนแห่งองค์ผู้สูงสุดจะรับราชอาณาจักร และถือกรรมสิทธิ์ราชอาณาจักรนั้นสืบๆไปเป็นนิตย์ คือเป็นนิตย์นิรันดร์

¹⁹Then I desired to know the truth concerning the fourth animal, which was diverse from all of them, exceedingly terrible, whose teeth were of iron, and its nails of brass; which devoured, broke in pieces, and stamped the residue with its feet;

¹⁹แล้วข้าพเจ้าก็อยากจะทราบถึงความจริงอันเกี่ยวกับสัตว์ตัวที่สี่นั้นซึ่งผิดแปลกกับสัตว์อื่นๆทั้งสิ้น ร้ายกาจเหลือเกิน มีฟันเหล็กและเล็บตีนทองสัมฤทธิ์ ซึ่งกินและหักเป็นชิ้นๆและกระทืบสิ่งที่เหลือนั้นเสีย

²⁰and concerning the ten horns that were on its head, and the other horn which came up, and before which three fell, even that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spoke great things, whose look was more stout than its fellows.

²⁰และเกี่ยวกับเขาสิบเขาซึ่งอยู่บนหัวของมัน และเขาอีกเขาหนึ่งซึ่งงอกขึ้นมาต่อหน้าเขารุ่นแรกสามเขาที่หลุดไป เขาซึ่งมีตาและมีปากซึ่งพูดสิ่งใหญ่โต และซึ่งดูเหมือนจะใหญ่โตกว่าเพื่อนเขาด้วยกัน

²¹I saw, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

²¹เมื่อข้าพเจ้ามองดู เขานี้ทำสงครามกับวิสุทธิชนและชนะ

²²until the ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the Most High, and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

²²จนถึงผู้เจริญด้วยวัยวุฒิเสด็จมาถึงและทรงให้มีการพิพากษาให้แก่วิสุทธิชนขององค์ผู้สูงสุดนั้น และจนสมัยเมื่อวิสุทธิชนรับราชอาณาจักรมาถึง

²³Thus he said, The fourth animal shall be a fourth kingdom on earth, which shall be diverse from all the kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

²³ท่านผู้นั้นกล่าวดังนี้ว่า `เรื่องสัตว์ตัวที่สี่จะมีราชอาณาจักรที่สี่บนพิภพซึ่งจะผิดกับราชอาณาจักรทั้งสิ้น และจะกินทั้งพิภพนี้เสียและเหยียบพิภพลง และหักพิภพนั้นให้แตกออกเป็นชิ้นๆ

²⁴As for the ten horns, out of this kingdom shall ten kings arise: and another shall arise after them; and he shall be diverse from the former, and he shall put down three kings.

²⁴ส่วนเรื่องเขาสิบเขานั้นจากราชอาณาจักรนี้จะมีกษัตริย์สิบพระองค์เกิดขึ้น และมีกษัตริย์อีกองค์หนึ่งเกิดขึ้นภายหลัง ผิดแปลกกว่ากษัตริย์ที่มีมาก่อน และจะโค่นกษัตริย์เสียสามองค์

²⁵He shall speak words against the Most High, and shall wear out the saints of the Most High; and he shall think to change the times and the law; and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and half a time.

²⁵ท่านจะพูดคำกล่าวร้ายองค์ผู้สูงสุด และจะให้วิสุทธิชนขององค์ผู้สูงสุดนั้นอิดหนาระอาใจ และจะคิดเปลี่ยนแปลงบรรดาวาระและพระราชบัญญัติ และเขาทั้งหลายจะถูกมอบไว้ในมือของท่าน ตลอดหนึ่งวาระ สองวาระ กับครึ่งวาระ

²⁶But the judgment shall be set, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it to the end.

²⁶แต่ผู้พิพากษาก็จะขึ้นนั่งบัลลังก์และจะทรงนำเอาราชอาณาจักรของท่านไปเสีย เพื่อจะทรงเผาผลาญและทำลายเสียให้สิ้นสุด

²⁷The kingdom and the dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole sky, shall be given to the people of the saints of the Most High: his kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

²⁷และอาณาจักรกับราชอาณาจักรและความยิ่งใหญ่แห่งบรรดาอาณาจักรภายใต้สวรรค์ทั้งสิ้น จะต้องถูกมอบไว้แก่ชุมนุมแห่งวิสุทธิชนขององค์ผู้สูงสุดนั้น อาณาจักรของท่านจะเป็นอาณาจักรนิรันดร์ และราชอาณาจักรทั้งสิ้นจะปรนนิบัติและเชื่อฟังท่าน'

²⁸Here is the end of the matter. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts much troubled me, and my face was changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

²⁸เรื่องราวก็สิ้นสุดลงเพียงนี้ ส่วนข้าพเจ้าคือดาเนียล ความคิดของข้าพเจ้าก็ทำให้ข้าพเจ้าตกใจมาก และสีหน้าของข้าพเจ้าก็เปลี่ยนไป แต่ข้าพเจ้าก็เก็บเรื่องราวนี้ไว้ในใจ"
