¹It happened in the eleventh year, in the third month, in the first day of the month, that the word of Yahweh came to me, saying,

¹และอยู่มา เมื่อวันที่หนึ่งเดือนที่สาม ในปีที่สิบเอ็ด พระวจนะของพระเยโฮวาห์มายังข้าพเจ้าว่า

²Son of man, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt, and to his multitude: Whom are you like in your greatness?

²"บุตรแห่งมนุษย์เอ๋ย จงกล่าวแก่ฟาโรห์กษัตริย์แห่งอียิปต์และแก่หมู่นิกรของท่านว่า ในความเป็นใหญ่เป็นโตของท่านนั้น ท่านเหมือนผู้ใด

³Behold, the Assyrian was a cedar in Lebanon with beautiful branches, and with a forest-like shade, and of high stature; and its top was among the thick boughs.

³ดูเถิด คนอัสซีเรียเปรียบได้กับไม้สนสีดาร์ในเลบานอน มีกิ่งงามและมีใบร่มและสูงมาก ยอดอยู่ที่ท่ามกลางกิ่งไม้หนาทึบ

⁴The waters nourished it, the deep made it to grow: its rivers ran all around its plantation; and it sent out its channels to all the trees of the field.

⁴สายน้ำทำให้มันใหญ่ขึ้น น้ำลึกทำให้มันงอกสูง พร้อมกับมีแม่น้ำของสายน้ำลึกนั้นไหลรอบที่ที่ปลูกมันไว้ และก่อให้เกิดสายน้ำเล็กๆ จากแม่น้ำลึกแยกออกไปทั่วต้นไม้ทั้งสิ้นในทุ่งนั้น

⁵Therefore its stature was exalted above all the trees of the field; and its boughs were multiplied, and its branches became long by reason of many waters, when it shot them forth.

⁵ดังนั้นมันจึงสูงเหนือต้นไม้ในป่าทั้งหลาย กิ่งไม้ก็แตกใหญ่และก้านก็ยาว เพราะน้ำมากหลายเมื่อให้งอก

⁶All the birds of the sky made their nests in its boughs; and under its branches all the animals of the field brought forth their young; and all great nations lived under its shadow.

⁶นกในอากาศทั้งสิ้นได้มาทำรังอยู่ในกิ่งของมัน สัตว์ป่าทุ่งทั้งสิ้นตกลูกออกมาอยู่ใต้ก้าน ประชาชาติใหญ่โตทั้งสิ้นอาศัยอยู่ใต้ร่มของมัน

⁷Thus was it beautiful in its greatness, in the length of its branches; for its root was by many waters.

⁷มันก็งดงามด้วยความใหญ่ยิ่งของมัน ด้วยความยาวแห่งก้านของมัน เพราะรากของมันหยั่งลึกลงไปยังน้ำอุดม

⁸The cedars in the garden of God could not hide it; the fir trees were not like its boughs, and the plane trees were not as its branches; nor was any tree in the garden of God like it in its beauty.

⁸ต้นสนสีดาร์ที่อยู่ในอุทยานของพระเจ้าก็ซ่อนมันไว้ไม่ได้ ต้นสนสามใบก็ยังไม่เปรียบปานกิ่งใหญ่ของมัน ต้นเกาลัดก็ไม่เปรียบปานกิ่งของมัน ไม่มีไม้ต้นใดในอุทยานของพระเจ้าที่มีความงามเหมือนมัน

⁹I made it beautiful by the multitude of its branches, so that all the trees of Eden, that were in the garden of God, envied it.

⁹เราได้กระทำให้มันงามด้วยกิ่งก้านมากมายของมัน ต้นไม้ทั้งสิ้นในสวนเอเดนก็อิจฉามัน คือต้นไม้ซึ่งอยู่ในอุทยานของพระเจ้า

¹⁰Therefore thus said the Lord Yahweh: Because you are exalted in stature, and he has set his top among the thick boughs, and his heart is lifted up in his height;

¹⁰เพราะฉะนั้น องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า เพราะว่ามันสูงและชูยอดของมันขึ้นอยู่ท่ามกลางกิ่งไม้หนาทึบ และจิตใจของมันก็เย่อหยิ่งเพราะความสูงของมัน

¹¹I will even deliver him into the hand of the mighty one of the nations; he shall surely deal with him; I have driven him out for his wickedness.

¹¹เราจึงมอบมันไว้ในมือของผู้หนึ่งที่ทรงอานุภาพในบรรดาประชาชาติ ท่านนั้นจะจัดการกับมันเป็นแน่ เราได้ไล่มันออกเพราะความชั่วร้ายของมัน

¹²Strangers, the terrible of the nations, have cut him off, and have left him: on the mountains and in all the valleys his branches are fallen, and his boughs are broken by all the watercourses of the land; and all the peoples of the earth are gone down from his shadow, and have left him.

¹²คนต่างด้าว คือชนชาติที่น่ากลัวในบรรดาประชาชาติ ได้โค่นมันลงและทิ้งไว้ กิ่งของมันตกลงบนภูเขาทั้งหลายและในหุบเขาทั้งสิ้น และก้านของมันก็หักอยู่ตามแม่น้ำลำธารทั้งสิ้นของแผ่นดินนั้น และบรรดาชนชาติทั้งหลายในแผ่นดินโลกก็ลงไปเสียจากร่มเงาของมันและทิ้งมันไว้

¹³On his ruin all the birds of the sky shall dwell, and all the animals of the field shall be on his branches;

¹³นกในอากาศทั้งสิ้นจะอาศัยอยู่บนสิ่งสลักหักพังของมัน และสัตว์ป่าทุ่งทั้งปวงจะอยู่บนก้านของมัน

¹⁴to the end that none of all the trees by the waters exalt themselves in their stature, neither set their top among the thick boughs, nor that their mighty ones stand up on their height, even all who drink water: for they are all delivered to death, to the lower parts of the earth, in the midst of the children of men, with those who go down to the pit.

¹⁴ที่เป็นเช่นนี้ก็เพื่อบรรดาต้นไม้ที่อยู่ริมน้ำจะไม่งอกขึ้นสูงนัก หรือชูยอดขึ้นท่ามกลางกิ่งไม้หนาทึบ และเพื่อไม่ให้บรรดาต้นไม้ที่ดูดน้ำขึ้นสูงอย่างนั้นได้ เพราะว่ามันทั้งหลายต้องมอบให้แก่ความตาย มอบให้แก่โลกบาดาล ท่ามกลางบุตรทั้งหลายของมนุษย์กับผู้ที่ได้ลงไปยังปากแดนคนตาย

¹⁵Thus says the Lord Yahweh: In the day when he went down to Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. I caused a mourning: I covered the deep for him, and I restrained its rivers; and the great waters were stayed; and I caused Lebanon to mourn for him, and all the trees of the field fainted for him.

¹⁵องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้ว่า ในวันที่มันลงไปยังแดนคนตาย เรากระทำให้บาดาลคลุมตัวไว้ทุกข์ให้มัน และยับยั้งแม่น้ำของมันไว้ และน้ำเป็นอันมากจะหยุดยั้ง เราคลุมเลบานอนไว้ให้กลุ้มอยู่เพื่อมัน และต้นไม้ในทุ่งนาทั้งสิ้นจะสลบเพราะมัน

¹⁶I made the nations to shake at the sound of his fall, when I cast him down to Sheol Sheol is the place of the dead. with those who descend into the pit; and all the trees of Eden, the choice and best of Lebanon, all that drink water, were comforted in the lower parts of the earth.

¹⁶เรากระทำให้ประชาชาติสั่นสะเทือนด้วยเสียงที่มันล้ม เมื่อเราเหวี่ยงมันลงไปที่นรกพร้อมกับบรรดาผู้ที่ลงไปยังปากแดน และต้นไม้ทั้งสิ้นในเอเดน ต้นไม้ที่คัดเลือกแล้วและต้นไม้ที่ดีที่สุดของเลบานอน ต้นไม้ทุกต้นที่ดื่มน้ำจะได้รับความเล้าโลมที่ในโลกบาดาล

¹⁷They also went down into Sheol with him to those who are slain by the sword; yes, those who were his arm, that lived under his shadow in the midst of the nations.

¹⁷ประชาชาติเหล่านี้จะลงไปยังนรกกับเขาด้วย ไปอยู่กับบรรดาผู้ที่ถูกฆ่าด้วยดาบ เออ คือบรรดาผู้ที่เป็นเหมือนแขนของเขา ที่อยู่ใต้ร่มของเขาท่ามกลางประชาชาติ

¹⁸To whom are you thus like in glory and in greatness among the trees of Eden? yet you will be brought down with the trees of Eden to the lower parts of the earth: you shall lie in the midst of the uncircumcised, with those who are slain by the sword. This is Pharaoh and all his multitude, says the Lord Yahweh.

¹⁸ดังนี้ เจ้าเหมือนผู้ใดในเรื่องสง่าราศีและความเป็นใหญ่ท่ามกลางต้นไม้แห่งเอเดน เจ้าจะถูกนำลงมาพร้อมกับต้นไม้แห่งเอเดนไปยังโลกบาดาล เจ้าจะนอนอยู่ท่ามกลางผู้ที่มิได้เข้าสุหนัต พร้อมกับผู้ที่ถูกฆ่าด้วยดาบ นี่คือฟาโรห์และบรรดาหมู่นิกรทั้งสิ้นของท่าน องค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าพระเจ้าตรัสดังนี้"
